She was a gentle and polite person. However, she had a shortcoming: she was too principled, and thus liked to “use reason” about everything.
After a meeting and a discussion, everyone was happy to assign Yu Guang to the Holy Mother Support Department, which no one wanted to be assigned to.
At the same time, they also paired her with an old defective system, hoping that it would contribute to their “progress” in its own unique way.
Everyone thought that the holy mothers were a group of unreasonable and unlikeable creatures and hoped that Yu Guang would simply expose their true nature and reveal their hypocrisy.
However, unexpectedly, under Yu Guang’s watch, the holy mothers stood up!
What was the big deal about being a holy mother? With proper education and guidance, even holy mothers could create miracles!
Under Yu Guang’s guidance:
– The white lotus holy mother in a CEO novel: “Don’t pity me just because I’m delicate. I can cry while throwing bricks at you.”
– The charitable holy mother in a historical drama: “I want to use my money to help others, but I can also rob the rich to aid the poor.”

After they conducted an interrogation, Yu Guang’s colleagues at the Quick Transmigration Bureau discovered that there seemed to be an issue with Yu Guang, the task receiver…

- One factor why is because it's a QT, which is my favourite type of Chinese novels.
- Another factor is because of Yu Guang, the main protagonist, and her mysterious backstory. In my opinion, the author did well in teasing her past and how they affect her throughout the story. There's also 08's backstory, which intrigued me as well, though not as much as Yu Guang's.
- I like Yu Guang's interactions with 08, which is clearly the way that the author explains Yu Guang's reasonings to us, the dummy readers /jk
- The arcs are generally interesting. Yu Guang kept me on my toes with how she deals with her opponents.
- Yu Guang addresses one of my biggest dislike about counterattack stories. As far as I can remember, she never punishes her opponents for things they haven't done in that life, only the ones they had; there's a part where she explicitly addresses this in Arc 14 as well.
These were the factors that kept me reading (and translating) even through some annoying parts of the story. Don't let my 5-star rating fool you; I don't think this story is perfect.-
- Yu Guang is a Mary Sue, painfully so. I don't like the way that Yu Guang is somehow always right as well.
- The nationalism that's so apparent in some modern arcs really got to me.
- Some arcs are longer than (I think) is necessary and made me feel like the author is just dragging it out at that point.
- Some plot points feel like they come out of nowhere and are just baffling (e.g. The 'secrets' Yu Guang deduced from the storyline in one certain arc).
Still, to me, the good in this story outweighs the bad and that's why I decided to translate this story. It's far from a masterpiece, but it's still so, so enjoyable. I hope some (if not all) of the issues I mentioned will be addressed in the sequel, but for now, I'm enjoying this first novel just great.
