The setting is basically in a world like ours, but with fiends (vampires, werewolves) and spirits who feast on humans and fiendslayers like Kaguya kill them. At first, Kaguya may seem to be a overconfident, haughty, powerful, and rich kid who has it all, the reality is quite cruel and brings me to tears.

It's very clear she was forced to set up that mask to protect herself. Despite being the youngest puppetmaster she is scorned from her entire clan and actively abused and taken advantage of by everyone. She has no one and has become a puppet to be used by her clan. Her only comfort is her stuffed rabbit doll, gifted to her by her late mother who nearly strangled Kaguya to death. Kaguya is so cute btw like she's a whole tsun towards anyone even remotely kind towards her.

Kaguya by chance meets a cheerful vampire who seems more human than fiend. I really thought author- san was gunna go for cliche cheerful person makes lonely person open up and yadda yadda they fall in love. However, the vampire's backstory is just as depressing and lonely. She has lived for eons all alone, not being able to fit in or live with neither fiends, spirits, nor humans. There also has been hints that she might've been ens*aved since she is a unique kind of vampire that basically Grant's any1 who has her, ultimate power. Also, seems like shes probably gunna get sacrificed for smthin idk it said smthin about her being a key.

Sorry but, the uncle was literally not a redeemable character and the author trying to make him “actually a good guy at heart” is just laughable and annoying to me. The uncle just “letting her win” and “testing her” is a suuuuper cheap and lame climax. Being a predatory awful disgusting man apparently deserves 0 punishment. How unfortunate and unsatisfying.
