What if the sibling of a seasoned KPOP fangirl suddenly possessed the body of a failed idol?

…And what if they were forced to take on a powerful otaku persona?

“Is this really our outfit? No matter how I look at it, they’re way too revealing…”

“10, 9, 8, 7…”

“I-I was going to wear it right away!”

To survive, success is a must.

By any means necessary!

“How do you know about things like this, Hyung?”

“…I have my reasons.”

The chaotic adventure of a protagonist who knows fans’ hearts a little too well.

It all begins now!

This series has a premise like a lot of idol novels, with a system and a goal to make an idol group successful. The Constellations are just a tool to make that happen; I appreciate it though, since most times there's no explanation for the existence of the system or why it's doing what it's doing (or, when there's no system/gods, why the MC inexplicably reincarnated/regressed/transmigrated in the first place). The Constellations provide a both a different flavor of what would otherwise be typical of the genre while also offering... more>> a comprehensive explanation for things that are usually given little explanation or are unexplained entirely.

There's something that I want to mention here, which is that the MC resists the system and Constellations. This doesn't happen enough - protagonists of various novels will be forced into unreasonable circumstances by a system/gods and will be really upset about it, but they also just resign themselves or otherwise allow the system to bully them because they have to cooperate for the plot to happen. These systems/gods obviously need the protags to succeed for some reason and, by extension, to be alive; despite having the biggest bargaining chip, the protags never lay down on the floor and stop cooperating entirely or threaten to commit su*cide when the system is being unreasonable. This would be my first reaction, because my delayed "rebellious teenager" phase manifests itself as "complete mental/emotional rejection of being given commands" now that I'm an adult; seeing protags not take what is, to me, the obvious choice of action when being forced into their situations can be frustrating.

But this MC? Immediately tries defying the system/Constellations and asks them to just kill him now so he doesn't have to go through the bullshit. Since he literally just died and reincarnated, he has no attachments to this life and wouldn't mind just dying again, and he therefore has no reason to cooperate with the system's/Constellations' wishes. MC proceeds to threaten to kill himself multiple times to make them cough up information and provide some kind of aid. Very refreshing (?). Trigger warning for mentions of su*cide, though.

The first few chapters are what I like to call "get the exposition out of the way" chapters, where they aren't written the best but quickly establish the setting/protags' abilities/protag's knowledge base before the plot really comes in. A lot of times the quality noticeably goes up by chapter 30; I'm going to have to read more chapters before I can judge the quality of this novel for myself. If I remember, I'll update this review later. <<less

This is the rather interesting novel that combines the idol drama and constellation genres, but set in its usual modern day idol setting. Following Lee Haeon, who dies in an accident and comes to possess a brand new body, an active "failing idol" named Seong Haeon. You probably know the rest, he's sent on a great mission to bring this failing group to a top tier one! Oh and fix his turbulent relationships with the members.

Although I have a few gripes to pick with this novel, (such as somewhat... more>> lacking character development for the members at its later stages) it has a strong and addictive core storyline. The kind of pacing that is dramatic turn after dramatic turn. Also, out of all idol dramas, I really love the fan reactions here, especially the two main fanpages/hommas. They're soooo fun, the author really understands fans.

It's a fun story to read casually for its dramatic turns, (very homoeroticism), and the cranky main character whose main character trait is being a relentless scammer of both people and the constellations that watch him! But it also ended, well, like 2 days ago at 641 chapters so you're in for the long ride. <<less
