Didn't expect much while starting it, but it has been suprisingly fun so far just reading about MC's daily life with his brocon sister at home and his love interests outside of that.

Ehem. It was, is, and will NOT a novel about Otaku. Instead of that, it main point was business-realm-conflicting and big families diplomacy. Read up to 1700+ chapter and you will quite sure that. Little sister (meimei) is quite cute, but some other girl is true attractive. You know, this is a Chinese's novel, then love is not everything, you must add "relation" to the choice of protagonist.

I don't know what @Imbuement is talking about with the 1900+ chapters since there only seem to be 1305 chapters on the web. Am I looking in the wrong places?

I've skimmed through the chapters and the review from Imbuement is correct, the main plot of the story does seem to be business realm/big families/complex relationships.

Why do I say potential lesbian? Because from the chapters I skimmed through, it's still very ambiguous as to whether she's truly lesbian or just someone who worships MC's little sister to the point of it appearing lesbian behavior. My take on this though? She's lesbian. Her name starts with Dongfang, so if you're uncomfortable with lesbian characters, don't read this novel. I'm uncomfortable with it and Dongfang's conniving personality doesn't make it any better. She is both a psychopath and a batsh*t crazy schemer.

If you ignore that though, you do have a story with many complex relationships with the MC and his harem (that seems to include his sister). There are suspicions as to whether or not they're actually blood related because she's not written down on paper as "adopted stepdaughter" but rather "adopted daughter" or something. The suspicion here being "oh, maybe dad had MC's little sister with the woman he remarried" beforehand, aka implying his dad was cheating.

This novel is really better than what I have expected.

In the first 5 chapter, I thought this would be Oreimou chinese version, but it turned out quite decent.

Dont let the novel's name trick you, the orther female character is very attractive. But of course the sister is cute as well

It's a nice novel, all the characters are very unique, and quirky individuals and gotta give props to the author for coming up with this sort of story. I'm not a big fan of most of the characters but I can understand and emphasize with their point of views and philosophy. Our protagonist is quite pitiful in that he has to deal with such troublesome characters, lol! But he's slowly building his harem which could be good, or... lead to devastating consequences. Thanks for translating this great book!

This is a strange novel. It's really a series of little dramas that the MC finds himself suddenly inserted into. And every time he ends up playing a strangely important role while also carefully and fully analyzing the situation.

Oh and then there's women too, but really they're kind of a backdrop. It's unfortunate, because when they actually get some proper focus it's really pretty good.

However more often the women are used as an excuse to get down in the weeds of some random dude's thoughts as the MC does some... more>> verbal sparring or whatever with them to make himself look so cool, all while his inner thoughts expose he's actually even cooler because he's seen through everything!

In many ways this novel is a weird Sherlock Homes style twist on a power fantasy.

... But really, when it actually focuses on the women, it's quite good. It's just a shame it doesn't do it more often. <<less
