I love this series. So cute, and full of yuri. Pretty much all the female characters get their yuri partners and everyone is uber-gay.

5/5 yuri. Also the text is nice.

Honestly, I'm not that ahead, but this story is pretty cute so far.

The MC is pretty logical and doesn't bs her way out of anything, she thinks pretty logically and actually uses her brain and power without being too OP.

in the earlier chapters, in an attempt to escape, she wanted to kill her guard, a boy who knew her pre-transmigrated self. She almost did it because she knew that he might figure something out.

Overall, this is cute but I think I'm going to have wait a few more chapters.

Going to the point, the story is great, from the characters and world development to the historical references, however nothing is flawless, and it saddens me that the problem is is not as simple as the way that things were writing or phrasing, but the main problems on this gem are:

  • Chekhov’s gun. (Recommend searching this)
The author just overflow the reader with unnecessary information to the point were become somewhat tiring if not boring, i'd even dare to say that skipping through parts to almost half of some chapters wouldn't... more>> impact the reading at all.

  • Expectations vs Reality
While you are at the first few chapters the MC, Yuan Sheng is introduced together with the FL, Gu Yuemin. Both their Personality and Values were given through the first arc.

The MC who wants to achieve freedom, play the role of a Prince Consort, and MC once was able to reach an appearance close to the one from her past life, and since then, MC aways achieve something close to her dream of freedom. However is she wants to go to the FL side she needs to became the Prince Consort again, and as the story goes by, it becomes one big tease, because even though it was clear several times, that she could turn back to be herfelf, the author choose not to.

It somehow makes the story frustrating, every time the hopes are up, a big let down comes right after, slowly building the frustration, so much to the point that if it wasn't for the MC point of view, one could almost mistake MC as the Prince Consort and not the cold blooded assassin Yuan Sheng.

A good historical fiction novel among the small selection of Historical Yuri.

Translation Quality:

Good, clear, and articulate. Some grammar mistakes and some parts unclear, but overall understandable.

The MC is the best! Her slow softening is very sweet, and her interactions with FL are always so cute. FL is also a great little imp who makes the novel quite funny.

Story:

This is where I'm going to nitpick and why I didn't give it full stars. It seems that the author has this great outline for this overarching story but she fails to flesh it out in the actual writing. We get these "fighting for the throne" plots and these fights b/w the royal family members but more often than not it finishes in a couple of chapters and the details are lacking. Also, what should've been a slow burn romance was kinda rushed as the MC kinda falls in love a little too quickly and the FL accepts her a little too quickly as well. Overall, the idea is there but it needed more fleshing out. Like a pie that looks delicious on the outside but has very little filling on the inside, it leaves the reader feeling unsatisfied. <<less

I'm enjoying the story very much! The translations were superb and the prose reads like I'm there inside the story. If reading books had a taste, this one whets my appetite just right. I can't totally describe the taste but this is totally my cup of tea. The action, the characters, the pacing of the story, every thing works together enough to make me keep reading at the edge of my seat.

Though from where I'm at, there are no juicy details on the bed scenes. Why, dear author, why?! ＼ (~o~) ／ The story is very detailed (that it might be too much of an info dump to others at times), but I'm slightly disappointed to know that there were none of those steamy parts...

I mtl the whole story. I find first two volume somewhat boring. But from third volume chapter 39 it starts to get interesting.

I'm glad that I didn't drop it or else I would've miss this gem! Please don't drop it!

Translation pace seems to drop this month. I wish translator can get more time to update more chapter ever month, so that everyone can enjoy this gem wholly when it's completed translation. I can't wait to read whole story to understand it better when translator complete translating this story!

I love this novel. The assassin is somewhat unaware of her emotions but whenever the princess is in danger, she somewhat cannot justify her actions. It is as if her body reacts at its own wishes. Strongly recommend this read if you like the innocence of falling in love. I also like the fact that the assassin is a modern person transmigrated to the ancient times. Makes it plausible to understand the emotions of that character.

Can't wait for more chapters to be released. (I know I can read it... more>> elsewhere but the translation is just... hmm... a little incomprehensible). <<less

there are some unnecessary parts or info at some chapters and I'd dare say I skip'm all cus it's meh. It's frustrating to just dump information whenever something related to that is mentioned even in passing. It's annoying cus hey, I don't even need that explanation. I want action not explanation! Also, I kinda feel frustrated for yuan shang cus for me, she's decisive yet also indecisive. She's impulsive to the point of risking her own life even tho she clearly know from the start that the princess's feelings were... more>> insincere. Good thing it somehow changed but I still thing yuan shang, more than a wife/husband is a s*ave of minghui. She's literally wrapped around her fingers ugh. But that's how it is. A woman's IQ is said to drop when in love so it's probably that. I'm just glad that somehow, minghui has become more genuine towards her treatment of yuan shang if not, then just let shang'er have a luxury tour around the world. <<less

I'm perplexed cause this really was a great story but the MC is a bit of a airhaid and doen't really understand her feelings until chap 46 (approximately). It was very very frustrating for me. And the plot is really good but the romance is sooooo slow and even when it finally gets there, it was a bit disapointing for me.

The traduction was good nevertheless and thanks for the work =)

Although the overall flow and the specifics of the plot are difficult to grasp it is an interesting read. MC has her cool moments so that's nice, and there's definitely some good romance around chapter 30-50. However, I feel that the because of the difficulties in this translation some of the feelings were lost as a result. When the leads finally got together it didn't feel special, but it is still a good read.

Hmm... it's palace scheming + wuxia + romance. As for no 'steamy parts', it's because the website will lock the chapter if the author writes too many explicit details. So, just use your imagination or something. 3.8 for overall plot.

Yuan Sheng (MC, 16 yrs old)

Past life ranked 13 in a famous assassination organization, learnt various skills pertaining to the art of assassination from her seniors (the art of disguise, hidden weapons, poison, voice mimicking, etc.) who made an elementary mistake during her last mission, causing her death.

However, she has the really bad luck of encountering the extremely intelligent female lead no matter what disguises she took. She was attracted by the beauty of the female lead, even to the point of sacrificing her life to save the latter in times of danger. Her intelligence as an assassin seemed to be gone after falling for the female lead. Due to some incident, she helped the princess to cure the effects of aphrodisiac she switched between her identities as a prince consort and a beautiful lady skilled in the art of medicine.

Her skills of an assassin to be stronger than an average human became almost worthless in the world with many skilled martial artists.

Temple, involved in kingdom affairs of princes rebelling left and right, protecting the female lead from all those who wish to cause her harm.

Gu Yuemin (Female Lead, 17 yrs old)

Daughter of a god lvl intelligence 'empress', twin sister of the 11th prince, the disciple of her 'aunt' who was the current leader of ?? Temple. She originally planned to marry the sickly MC to get her grandfather's military support for a scheme that was prepared many years ago by her mother.

Since young, she and her twin brother were used to seeing her mother and her aunt together thus she wasn't so averse to liking the MC who was of the same gender.

She schemes to gather more power by allying with other forces, assists her twin brother into becoming the next emperor, and plots against the emperor who almost caused the real death of her mother's fake death plan.

Story: almost 2/3 of the story,

The female lead's feelings to the MC are revealed when the MC doubts her love but is willing to endure any pain and suffering just to be able to protect her. Later parts of the novel is a huge contrast to the mood set in the first half of the novel.

There are chapters stuck directly between the arc of the story which depicts the past of the female lead's mother and aunt, alternate ending of the story if the MC has not taken over the original host body (female lead becoming an empress who doesn't have a partner to grow old with), modern school setting of flirting between the MC and the female lead. The side chapters show what happens in the view of the younger generation of the family (yuri development).

MC adopted a daughter who she ignores until everything is settled, a male disciple who made a few appearances in some arcs, a female disciple while travelling around the world with her family.

End: a bit anticlimactic, MC became an immortal after 10 yrs of transmigration.
