@ the guy saying the MC is an idiot cause she doesn't always talk to plants: literally did you even read the novel? She straight up said she doesn't want to do it all the time because it's an extensive process that takes a while and it's extremely noticeable when she does it. She doesn't want to make her powers too obvious, you absolute ninny.

also, how is the ML saying he doesn't want the FL to feel like she has to do things out of obligation a "rapey vibe"? Him... more>> saying he's not gonna force her to do anything is the opposite of r*pey, though??? Like, there's a whole ass scene where he even asks if it's okay for him to hold her hand when they sleep, like what??? Are we reading the same novel?

ANYWAY, onto my actual thoughts. This novel's great. It's v soft and cute, and the ML and FL are sweeter than sweet. They have such good chemistry, and this novel has the vibe of "Us against the Problem". They've got the big bad to go against and they are going against them together. Love them. <<less

I really love this one a lot, and frequently go back to reread chapters while waiting for the next one to come out, lolol. The FL is strong and fierce without sacrificing heart and care for others. And what I love is that the ML worries for her and shows concern for her well being, but it's never at the cost of disrespecting her opinion or her autonomy as a person. He finds ways to work with her, understands her strengths, and sees places where she's more talented than he.... more>> On the flip side, the FL recognizes his worries and does what she can to alleviate them without worsening them, but she does so in a way that doesn't compromise her values or ideals.

Hate to call out "Scorpionking426" but the ML has plenty of good qualities. Showing men being emotional is a GOOD thing, and I think it's crazy we're acting like men can't be like that. Like, he saw someone he loved get mu*dered, and he's understandably very scared. Wild that, according to your standard, he has to have special powers to be acceptable, but I'll just ignore that weird take. And given that the FL is very important to him, I think reducing him to those kinds of descriptors does a disservice to his character, considering he watched her die previously and is desperate not to have that happen again.

But more importantly, the ML and FL have a believable relationship. It's one built on trust and admiration. Personally, though, I would've loved it if there was a bit more drama there. I'm a stinker for that kind of stuff, and while it can be aggravating for other people, I love it every time! But rating this novel on what it is rather than what I wish it would be, I really love what it does. The focus of the drama and the conflict isn't their relationship, so if you're looking for something that's going to throw you straight into a wholesome relationship, then this is the one for you. Unless this novel takes a weird left turn into toxicity in the eleventh hour, I can see it easily keeping this five star rating right until the very end. <<less

@irfarahani this are "Returner" stories, not "Isekai", Isekai means "different world" you're confusing the terms, when a character "dies" and "relieves" their life they are called "Returners", it's their own setting in the multitude of web novels, if this is the first you've ever read, hoooo boy, you should check out the "tag" in the novels section, because they can compete with the "Isekai" tag and use several of the same settings and plot devices, so if you enjoy those you just doubled your reading library hehehe.

Soooooo... I wanted to... more>> wait a bit more before writing my review because there were several things that caught my attention and I was hesitant to put stars considering it's just chapter 19... but the latest chapter has given me the push to write this.

First of all, the chapters are chunky, so you're gonna get a mouth full of plot and characterizations and world building with each one.

The pacing feels steady, it takes it's time to characterize what is important while building the world and setting up the devices for the future developments.

It's structured as an actual novel, not a web novel, I really have become a fan boy of Korean authors because of this kind of writers because they are very good at structuring their stories, and this one is translated by Rain of snow a wonderful group that have quite a few novels working and they all hold an above average standard of translation.

So, what makes this novel worth while?? THE CHEMISTRY, dear god! are you tired of the ML being stoic?, a sad*st that just presents himself as if he "owns" the MC?, Someone that "showers" the MC with love but feels as if she's just an object?... then this novel is for you, because the author is FANTASTIC at portraying the chemistry between the MC and the ML...

I jumped ahead... of course the world building, plot devices, plot points, and developments are fantastic, but if you don't really care about any of that and just want to squeal at the cute couple, YOU CAN...

They start awkward but there is no inherent drama or rejection, it's a very well portrayed couple dynamic that is as realistic as I've ever read in this kinds of stories, there are some misunderstandings and some dreads in the backdrop that have you wondering trough the novel, but they are SO CHARISMATIC, and have so much chemistry together that you can't help but grin from ear to ear whenever they interact directly.

This is definitely an instant read for anyone that wants as "realistic as they can be" portrayals of a couple in this kind of kingdom fantasy setting. <<less

RECOMMENDED FOR: People who want to read a basic story without any complicated schemes, and those who enjoy an uncomplicated male and female lead.

STORY: The premise is interesting, however in the long run, it does not truly offer anything new or unique within its genre and sub-classification. There are many more stories that have similar a similar premise, however this one falls short in only one but key ingredient: the villains. They are evil, s*upid, and utterly one dimensional. The motives for the villains are revealed by the author early... more>> on, and they are so clearly inept at what they do that there is no sense of urgency or worry for any of our main characters because the villains are not threatening in the slightest.

CHARACTERS: Kwanach is the typical rough soldier/warrior male lead who is seen as menacing to everyone other than Usphere, the female lead. Usphere is also the typical "second life" female lead who has suffered neglect and is now empowered to do better. They have great chemistry, and even though the dynamic is one that should face many misunderstandings, these two actually communicate and there is no such thing as long-winded misunderstandings in this story.

Usphere is also shown to be smart and of great help to the investigations without it seeming like everyone is inept just for the sake of her to be smart, it is her and her magic that is needed to find the clues because no one else has magic. Save for one scene where I can't fathom how the Imperial physician and Kwanach's exemplary secretary are unable to find a lead on a certain plot, Usphere is believably smart and useful.

Kwanach is perfect in every way that it should be boring, and his overprotectiveness for Usphere borders on annoying at some point, but it is explained rather well and he does learn to loosen up in regards to Usphere. The most refreshing thing I personally find in Kwanach is his emotions and how he feels the way he does. In a story with many one dimensional and uninteresting characters, his backstory stands out.

There's not much to say about the secondary characters because they are flat and mostly one dimensional, save for less than a handful but they aren't explored enough to be of any interest.

TRANSLATION: The translation is passable. There are many inconsistencies with the actual names, and the spelling of names and places. There are also several grammatical errors that make takes you away from the immersion of reading. The formatting is also a bit wonky, as there are several parts where it is impossible to tell who is actually speaking. As a reader, I don't appreciate T/N comments within the story, which this story has quite a bit of and it takes away the experience of reading. All in all, it is readable but it definitely needs another run with the editor and quality checker.

OVERALL: It's a good story and the relationship between Kwanach and Usphere are refreshing because they don't have long periods of misunderstandings. They're essentially perfect. So everything is boring once the greater misunderstandings are cleared, and all they have left to do is to stop the remaining villains. There is no great depth in plot for this story, and even the antagonism between our heroes and villains is not all that interesting.

MY READING STATUS: I dropped this because, again, there is no more sense of urgency to defeat the evil of this story. It is assured because the villains are s*upid, and are clearly weaker than either of the leads. And there's no more inter- or intra-conflict for the leads that would compel me to read further. To clarify, I also read Under The Oak Tree, which is very similar to this story in many ways, so that may be why this one fell flat to me. I tried not to compare, but it really feels like a fluffier version of Under the Oak Tree without any real complications. <<less

ML forces the MC to marry him then acts like a little bit*h about it when he thinks the MC doesn't want to be married to him or isn't comfortable around him. Guy even has the balls to say he wants a "normal marriage" where the MC doesn't only do things out of duty. I don't know who this r*pey sh*t is for but it's not for me.

Also, the MC is an idiot. She can speak to plants and see their memories, she's the ultimate information gatherer, but... more>> she does it sparingly instead of walking around talking to every plant she sees to see who's loyal and who isn't. <<less

  • Such an interesting isekai story, I have read so many isekai story but this is first time I read about time travel after became a ghost for 3 years. I am curious of what is the trigger. Even she had the power as the 'Awakener' (the power of sacred forest) but when she ask the forest why time travel her back. The forest seems annoyed and said 'she' do not miggle with human

    Her brother who become Crown Prince (I forgot his name, I think Doquiate??) I did suspect him being the cause of her death on her past life as I read more. Since she rewind back to her past,

    she became more cautious and more sensitive to her brother real jealous inner feelings of her become Awakener which she realised she was a fool before. In this life time, he wants her to become his spy after telling her she presumed 'infertile'. I didn't believe any of his word, he want to grasp her by giving her scare about her infertile

    since he cannot desolate her like in her past life (she got stronger in her second life). I am curious on what will happen to her after her wedding in this life. Is she gonna survive her death after knowing where and when she will get killed?

It could be my fav novel, it has my fav trope. A strong ML, a raising emperor, capable FL, save my love from their evil family/ex trope, worry wart ML. And looking at the reviews, I proceed to read this with confidence.

But then disappointment come real fast.

I can’t stand the writing. Instead of describing the character with scenes, like their act, their gesture, etc, it describe the personality of the characters with that character own monologue. It’s a repeat of the FL saying “I’m a cold person... ” “i have... more>> expresionless face... ” “i respond with my lack of expression” but then proceed with an act that contradicts with that...

to many cringey part. And then, the ML is said to be a briliant man but what I see is just an unreasonable guy with too much testosterone. <<less

The story moves fast. There is no frustration.

Once ML meet with FL, they both communicate with each other’s. They share their opinion and secret.

You can feel that they are on the same team trying to beat a bad guy together which is gold.🤩

I LOVE THIS, !!! First off, thank you translators, you do a wonderful job of making coherent and easy to read translations. For the story, I love, i’m a sucker for obsessive MLs and this is one of them. The story is well paced, with wonderful characters, and a very interesting plot that won’t be confusing (i’m usually confused by plot and background info but it’s very easy to understand)

This novel is pretty good, I like 'time reset' plots. I just have a feeling this story will hurt my heart in the later chapters.

Firstly, our ML will 100% be hurt when he finds out our MC has been plotting behind his back. She is not plotting against him, but she is playing her own 'double-agent game' and ML doesn't know that MC is on his side. So obviously, he won't think of her as a double-agent and will only assume she is a spy. ... more>> Which will break my heart and MLs.

Secondly, this story seems interesting at first but I am predicting a drawn-out drama that will bore me. Like the manhwa 'The Duke's Servant'. A lukewarm story with drama, gutwrenching heartbreak, and a nonchalant finish.

I'm not joking, gutwrenching heartbreak. I felt horrible, I wasn't even the one deceiving others. I generally have my heartbroken when the character being deceived bares their heart to the one deceiving. The character bares their heart and gives unconditional trust leaving themselves entirely unprotected against the person they love. Just to find out that the one they love has been deceiving them from the start. Heaven to Hell. My heart drops, I cry, I mope around for a day or two in a slump. My family asks "whats wrong?" and I have to tell them that my as*hole MC broke the ML's heart... 😭😭😭*sniffle*😭😭 the flashbacks 😭😭😭😭😭 Anyway 😭, my senses are tingling, I'm getting deja vu, I need to stop this novel before my heartbreaks again.

Lastly, the moment she started searching for a way to fix her infertility, went to the library and realized from an old tale that she needs to contact the secluded Elves through the dwarves with the help of her emperor husband... pardon me, but that is not the kind of 'journey to the west' that I like to spend time on.

I could read on, but I won't. So I'll give this a 3... 3.2....3.4...2... 4. Because my issue is a personal preference, I'll give this a 4. I'm warning you. I'm getting some deja vu from this plot. <<less

This was a good novel. The MC was a very warmhearted person. She really wanted to help her people and found ways to improve her life and the lives of others. Also, our ML won the most loving and dedicated husband award. His love was consistent even though sometimes overwhelming. But considering what he experienced and can say he did very well.

The translation was superb as well and added to my enjoyment.

3, 5/5 with all the negatives. I'm very biased while giving this score because I absolutely love worry-ward husbands!!! I was dying from the sweetness in this one!

Some thoughts about MCs:

FL: Maybe I'm a vengeful b-word but I couldn't love "my people" if they didn't treasure me and torture me in my other life. I wouldn't want to protect the land, I'd want revenge, disaster, and corruption. But hey, that's just me being salty.

ML: His worry sometimes is too much but he's literally losing his mind from love and longing,... more>> I get him.

In my mind their image is very different from the book cover, by the way, FL doesn't give much of a serious adult type but an inexperienced young girl. ML is quite close but much more huge if you create him as he described.

Not much to add, go read it, it's a 5 star in the entertainment department. <<less

For once, both the FL and ML are fully fleshed out characters with clear goals and motivations. I love this novel! I couldn’t stop reading the translation, and now I’m up to date but I can’t wait for the new update. Each chapter is a good length and the author put a lot of effort into the world building without making it feel like a textbook.

10/10 recommend, this is one of my favorite novels I’ve read on this site and I’ve spent the whole pandemic doing nothing but reading webnovels

I thought this story would be full of angst but thankfully, it wasn't. There were still conflicts and dramas here and there but it wasn't a heart wrenching one. MC and ML were also an ideal couple. They're not perfect but their growth were noteworthy.

In the beginning, MC was a bit cold and couldn't understand about love but after getting along with ML, she became warmer and slowly knew about love.

Meanwhile, ML was too protective if it was concerning MC. It's understandable though since he witnessed her death in their last life. MC also almost died from poisoning in their second life. The fear of losing MC made ML lost his reason and he confined her in the palace. MC could understand ML's worry so she didn't hate him because of that. However, she still tried to reason with him even though she could escape by herself if she wanted to but she didn't do it because she didn't want to make him worry. After having heart to heart talk, ML slowly changed and although his heart ached when he saw MC getting hurt, he still respected MC's wish.

That's one of the reason why I love them: they communicated. They discussed their problem calmly and reasonably and they didn't let a misunderstanding grew until it's out of control.

The conflict in this story wasn't that complicated and solved quite easily but it's still quite enjoyable to read. Moreover, there wasn't any loose end in the end the story so we got a satisfying happy ending. <<less

Thanks to the translators and those who publish / share the chapters here. I love. Greetings from Colombia.

Usually I don't do reviews but since there are people who see the comments of others before starting a novel (I am one of them, I even love spoilers), I am going to share my experience in these 57 chapters.

The story has a moderate development, it does not take so many laps in telling certain experiences or secrets of the protagonists, although I consider that there are several secrets to confess, it is... more>> releasing one by one without disappearing the "mystery". The relationship between the characters is so healthy, sincere and communicative (woooah that should be all relationships in real life) the male character can be considered somewhat macho (although seeing that the time in which the plot takes place, something "medieval", It is almost normal to expect that attitude) I clarify, he is macho in the sense of "overprotection", of the rest he is a good character.

For those who like the R18 or meat (like me) there are only kisses and holding hands hahahaha, it is a romantic novel without hard scenes, so far, but that keeps the reader's attention and you know that in later chapters good things will come. I am a fan of hot and very explicit history, where the protagonists after a few chapters are sharing saliva, however this novel melts my heart.

The growth of the characters is good, they have a character development that pleases, the female protagonist goes from being a weak woman to someone strong with an empathic character (something that goes according to our time) and the male protagonist (God what can I say of him) is like a Domesticated Bear (the same MC sees it that way). Hahahaha that's why I don't do reviews, I write so much and share my opinion so much, surely few will read this but anyway. For those who like healthy and communicative relationships, with certain stereotypes in the characters, with a pleasant plot development, fantasy (magic) and romance, without so much R-18, this is your novel. <<less
