[HONEST REVIEW]

Two words to describe this novel: wholesome crack!

If you are looking for something serious, with a deep plot, dog blood, angst, and well, something that's heavy — I'd say take your leave and please don't drop a review with a bad rating just because it doesn't have any of the above mentioned genres.

... more>> Yes, the tags say "obsessive love" and "stalkers" but don't let that throw you off, or leave you expecting something more. Both elements are indeed present in the plot, but it's more of in a lighthearted manner that's mixed with humour.

ALRIGHT, GETTING ON WITH THE REVIEW NOW:

(I refrain from giving detailed spoilers cause I'd rather people read it and enjoy the surprises in it themselves)

I love the MC, Myka, who is probably such a relatable character when it comes to his reactions, rational thoughts and actions. It makes everything about the plot pretty funny. He's patient, paranoid in a way, is that "one person who gives off the really deep sigh when sh*t goes down" kinda guy, and he owns a s*x shop and helps/advises people on "doing the do" LMAO. Such a gem, really!

Then there's our ML, Sylar, who is a druid. He's not your typical hot-stuff ML — seeing how he's rather shy, likes to put flowers in his hair, and he pretty much threw me off when he was first introduced. I should say he's kinda eccentric? But don't quit just yet, I swear he grows on you and he's quite a badass. AND GOSH, he is such a genuine guy when it comes to love!

His behavior and mannerisms are as it is because he's a druid, and they are more oriented towards nature. Don't judge him too quick! Understand his background first! The author gives off nice explanations about it, and makes it pretty interesting.

I loved how the author also added tidbits of information regarding the history of Pink Robed Mages in the author notes, giving it such a nice and more realistic touch.

The growth in the relationship (right from when they meet up to the very end when they're finally together) between Myka and Sylar is super cute! You can actually see the whole progress as the story pans out, with all the little adventures in between, and I think that's pretty neat. When I say they're cute, I really mean it. Them getting together was both funny and wholesome!

Also, the other characters that appear are quite memorable. They're a mix of personalities, and that's fun.

This novel is really something quite different and unique, and that's super refreshing! Please give it a try! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did! :') <<less

Well, that was one fun, humour, sarcastic, cute and sweet filled ride!

Honestly this novel was easy to read, the characters are fun and unique. It's contradictory with how it contains much perversity yet remains pure and wholesome O (∩⩊∩) O

I liked how the MC & ML's romantic wasn't sudden, but was a romance that was allowed to take its course. They had to realise the difference in each other and learn to accept those differences, which they do ⁓ ♪

This novel cracked me up and has made me laugh like... more>> crazy! It's been a while since I read something this amusing 💜 <<less

Well.... this was quite a change 😂 it was funny, but in an absurd and sarcastic kind of way. I love the characters, they're so.... unique! Haha no other word for it.

the ML is unbelievably pure and honest, he's a Druid and his understanding of the world and relationships is on a completely different tangent. So although it's hard to understand at first, the more you read and learn about who he is and what experiences he's had, the more you come to comprehend his actions. It's cute. Creepy from... more>> a point a view? Perhaps lol but full of honesty and care and innocence.

This part from the story kinda sums up the feeling I got while reading it, like don't know whether to laugh or cry 😅

Myka looked at the letter and didn't know what expression to make. Looking at the last sentence, it was hard to tell whether it was for comfort or a threat.

Okay, first are the characters. What's interesting about the ML and MC is that they are not your typical naive shou and cold gong. It's actually the reverse, the shou is a pink robe mage and the gong is shy with a little girl like demeanor in front of the shou.

Second, in real life if someone's stalking you for 9 years it's way too creepy and scary! lol Good thing, the gong is really nice and would help the shou and keeps him safe all the time, but still!

Third, the... more>> side characters. I don't know man! But... not sure if they are there for deco or what. lol

There's no real villain in this story actually, only diffferent perspective. 50/50 for recommendation. <<less

This is my current favorite of all of novels I have read by Matthia so far. The MC has a very interesting profession and it was especially fun to peer into the world where he lives and see the adventures, and misadventures, in which he continually finds himself. He is a natural at landing himself it awkward and hilarious situations, both on purpose and by accident. Since he is very adaptable and creative in his problem-solving, it was very entertaining to see how he managed to finagle himself out said... more>> situations.

The romance was a slow burn that felt very real and grounded in an otherwise fantasy-centric story. The MCs and MLs interactions made perfect sense in the context of the story with none of the trope-y "for no good reason, suddenly in love" moments I find so unpleasant and jarring in some other LNs. Though I was not very fond of his favorite 'pastime' in the beginning of the book, the ML's shy and earnestly devoted (to the point it was problematic) personality definitely grew on me after a while.

Not too heavy, solid comedy, and a realistic romance. All in all, I was very satisfied with the story. <<less

Boring and nonsensical. I think it tries to be funny with the idiocy of the characters, such as the elves, but it mostly feels annoying and racist. And there’s no logic in any of the mc’s actions. There’s a few paragraphs in chapter 22 (I think?), where he contradicts himself in each new paragraph, “he was great”, “very ordinary”, “not very good”, “good”, and all used to describe his magic ability. Honestly, he’s pretty crap at it all: life, socialising, career, relationships, business management, he’s awkward and dumb at... more>> all of it. And not at all in a funny way, more in a frustrating “stop doing that!” way. Also, fairly poorly written, and I’m not convinced it’s the translation, I think the author was drunk when they wrote it. <<less

Tho I have to say, the handsome pe*vert mentor of ML is uhh... I dunno it's been said by the MC that he is not a rapist but when I read about what he has done to other people it sounds pretty r*pey to me. Like some of the people he "made love to" was pretty scared of him. Anything that involves noncon, dubcon, or r*pe is a big no-no to me so I just have to point it out. Maybe they gave their consent?

There are some characters here that force themselves on other people aside from the mentioned mentor and it is quite off-putting to say it mildly.

Love this author. Adorable, western-DND type fantasy with quirky and original characters.

Quite a crack plot in this one! Crazy unexpected things happening at every turn, from shapeshifting druids to dangerous streakers, to tentacle plants.

Loved the cultural differences described around the druids, humorous and believable.

MC reacts to having a stalker in a very normal way: actually being creeped out by it!

Hahaha.

It took him awhile to warm up to the ML who didn't have any bad intentions. Great development.

It was a light read. Story has a unique light plot. I have never seen a ML like this but that does not mean it is unlikable. It has its own charm. Author is quite brave enough to portray the ML like this. The chemistry between the MC and ML is good and at the same time the are awkward too. I don't know how to say it, but when I was reading I was feeling shy of the sweet nothings of them and it is quite polite in the... more>> term of BL.

As the summary mentioned, don't expect anything heavy just read for fun.
