In the story, we're introduced to Qin Yue, the omega, and Fu Lin, the alpha. The storyline itself isn't interesting and is rather written in a summary style, making it very hard to feel connected to this short-but-also-longer-than-anticipated-Oneshot. The omega is a university teacher and is older than his love interest. The alpha, Fu Lin is a florist and is the one in the relationship that pursues his love interest.

Their climb in love wasn't detailed and was rather bland. It lacked any emotions so to speak, it's almost as if... more>> they were just letters typed on a page for a script. Also, their relationship, in the beginning, is really similar to a person who happens to encounter a drug and is now addicted to it. It kind of makes it a bad set up for a relationship, but it's fictional, so welps~ Subsequently, anything developing after that also seemed forced and fake, therefore, making the 'fluff' element absent.

To also address the 'smut' tag, I think that it's more of the bait as there's no smut in the Oneshot. I would rather categorize the Oneshot as 'mature', rather than 'smut'. The only part in there that is deemed almost smutty is about QY's cherry tops and that doesn't even count because they were mentioned for like 2 sentences.

Overall, despite all that I had to say, I think it's a 'meh' read if you are really out of options. But if you were to ask me if I would read it again or recommend it, I would say, 'no'. Why? Because of the 1D, not to mention, there are plenty of omegaverse novels and Oneshots out there that are much better written than this one. More than once I had to refocus and finish reading because it got pretty boring.

Although, I have to say that at least this one wasn't psychologically putting down the omegas and all three genders were 'equal' enough from what I read.

And if you're going to read this, a word of caution: about the second half of Oneshot, QY's and FL's are switched around and although it might've sounded a bit sexy (or that it didn't make sense), after reading a few words into the sentence you will know that the wrong name was inserted in. This happens quite a bit, so if you easily get annoyed by these types of typos, you should probably avoid it because it happens when things get 'steamy' (which I will say that it's rather not) and in many more places. It's not certain if this was accidentally done by ExR or the author, but please don't rate it badly because of that and probably go and kindly ask/remind the translators.

P.S. As much as I love ExR for their translations and the great work they've brought to us, I think that this Oneshot was rather mediocre (both in translation, editing, and story). I still think they're a great group though, so don't keel me. <<less

The theme of this story caught my attention, but regrettably, it didn't live up to its potential.

Well, start with the praise. I really like how Qiu Yue, despite being an omega, is more mature and active in their relationship, while Fu Lin is doting and respectful. Their relationship dynamic is full of peace and underlying passion, and their patience in waiting to be physically intimate is impressive. (ˊ ᵕ ˋ) They seem perfectly tailored for each other.

This is a short Omegaverse read and quite enjoyable. Totally recommend reading. I am not sure why there are low ratings but it is an interesting take on an omega (Qiu Yue) and alpha (Fu Lin) who have highly compatible pheromone matching rates.

The short story almost feels like a more practical and more realistic version (if we lived in an omega verse world). There are no annoying side characters or made up drama. It is a real couple getting to know each other, acquaintances at first.

The story is bland, the writing style is honestly really hard to read, and the smut I was looking for wasn't really smut.

Its definitely not a good novel, and I didn't enjoy reading it at all. Really confusing, is the most I can say. Don't recommend this. Have a nice day.

For a oneshot, this is unnecessarily confusing and really hard to follow.

From what I can tell, MC is a professor and ML is a... florist maybe (?) and also a... plant researcher (?). There are several parts where it seems MC and ML's names are mixed up and I'm not sure if that's an error on the behalf of the author or the translator.
