Mu Zhiyan, after being transmigrated a millennium (1000 yrs) into the future, discovered that he was raised by his adoptive parents as a tool for them to access the heritage his (dead) biological parents left behind. When he was at a loss for what to do next, he discovered that his body hosted an additional
pharmaceutical system.

For a chance to return to his era of Earth, Mu Zhiyan decided to practice and practice; he must train the system to full level as soon as possible.

However, reality gave him a slap in the face. The world is dangerous and dreadful, making Mu Zhiyan recall his mother’s words of holding a thick thigh, resulting in him locking his eyes on a cool general…

So the rumored mysterious Mu Master faced General Han with a serious face: “I allow you to follow me, General Han.”

General Han: “…”

This story start out very good, very interested, well setting, then... went down hill. The middle of story were full of food and how amazing mc's cooking was. I feel like WHAT!. Not that I'm against food related story but the way it wrote really ruin feeling and overall vibe of the story. Plus, the ending was kind of rushing things a lot.

Very good start, boring things in the middle, and rushing unsatisfied end.

Mtl'd this in two days and most of what everyone said was on point. It is a feel good, non angsty read and is good to pass time. The food chapters midway were a lil bit too many and unless I got it wrong, we are told at the beginning that he gets perfect looks after he gets the newbie package and he looks amazing and so he wears a mask but I never read abt him taking it off. He also upgrades super easy.... like this was on easy... more>> mode whereas most novels are on difficult or hell mode... plus he fakes being a guru till the end where he does become an actual godlevel. He has no family or friends waiting for him back on earth so why he is in a hurry to go back idk! No snu snu, no pa pa pa... not even a smooch :/ <<less

The raws are hard to read sometimes, but it's not impossible.

The MC was brought to an apocalypse future where humans migrated to a new planet filled with monster beast. There are two types of people respected in this era, the power fighters and the alchemists. MC transmigrated into the body of a poor orphan. He has the cheat pharmacy system to learn about making potions. Using this system, he was abled to create better potions and beat other alchemists.

I love the couple in this story. Their characters aren't just white... more>> lotuses or cold unfeeling guys. A few times in the story, the MC or ML had to make hard decisions that was contrary to how other novels usually do.

There were a lot of filler chapters, especially when the two were in the jungle on an impromptu culinary journey. Not that I didn't enjoy that, but it could have been better thought out.

The other joy of this novel were the ancient beasts. The MC can understand them and some of the dialogues were hilarious.

I didn't hate the ending. It shows the trust and bond those two have for each other. I love the honesty and lack of misunderstanding between the them.

All in all, a sweet, short read. <<less

Shounen Ai. So there was barely any romance until the 2nd to last chapter. Even for shounen ai, it was very light, only hand holding, and a "hug" only happened twice I believe. No kissing at all. In regards to love, our MC falls in love or realizes his love first.

Starts off really good about MC being an abused orphan with a golden finger to become a "pharmacist" = alchemist. Middle section is then heavily influenced and a huge emphasis is made on his cooking abilities compared to the future... more>> chefs. The ending was a lot more rushed than I would have liked. This could have been due to the fact that I read the MTL version, so some subtleties were lost, but after the end boss villain was revealed it was then killed off maybe a paragraph or two later.

I'm also a little upset about the beginning part. MC could've handled his situation in the beginning better. MC never took the time to actually organize the information of the host body, only when something didn't go according to plan did he search through the memory and realize, oh I should've known. Not to mention, his abused orphan situation was never actually "resolved".
Spoiler

His plan to buy back his house once he had money never happened. There was only maybe 1 sentence at the very end that addressed that our ML did banned the corruption in the orphanages so orphans could live happily and safely.

Was hoping this would be something like "I have medicine" and MC would be able to use his drug making skills to be slightly more self protected. But our MC is so... weak, that our ML has to waste ability/power to protect MC when he's in a life or death battle. Though I suppose this is also a good way to show how the author is consistent with MC's strength background.

Overall a good and lighthearted read. Don't expect this to be completely about drug making, the middle starts to deviate, and MC ends up having his cooking as a second golden finger. <<less

like the another user has said, at the start there was great potential with herb collection and potion? Making. Some face slapping (not as much as I like).

but then in the middle theres this BIG portion just on food (sounds delicious but not what I came for, still good tho, if I was looking to read about bringing amazing food to the future than I would defiantly enjoy this bit more, but I was hoping for more alchemy like legendary master's wife).

i agree that the ending was kind of rushed,... more>> some events were only one or 2 chapters longs. The ending was ok

there is barely any romance, the majority is more bromance, at around chapter 100 it mentions romance between MC and ML and only in the finale fight do MC finds out ML likes him and vice versa (thats like the last 3? Chapter. Although there is alot of trust and no misunderstandings between MC and ml. But since its kinda a short novel I guess its fine?

there were quite a few loose ends thats not very satisfying (at least to me)

Spoiler

1. The MC sells his house thats the only thing left from what his parents left for him. He said he would rebuy the house after he gets money but its only mentioned like 1 other time and not anymore.

2. I kinda wanted more face slapping with the adopted family but after being kicked out of the house they were never mentioned again. Same with that guy in charge of the protection orphans

3. When MC calls ML a "dragon" ML gets a flashback/ imagery of this guy/dragon saying whats the point of being a dragon if he cant protect his lover. We never really get an explanation, it could be his parents (ML is a human/ dragon hybrid) but in the flashblack its assumed the human lover died before the dragon whereas its the other way round for ml's parents

4. Through out the novel ML is either referred to as big black (mc's nickname for him), the mask man or general han and only at the end do we know his name. Idk I just felt it felt kinda off but thats just me

They were not kidding when they say the plot is a hot mess.

Spoiler

20% (roughly 25 chapters back to back) of the entire series is the MC and the ML being stranded in the death forest, resulting in MC cooking for ML while trying to survive.

I don’t mind cooking and whatnot, cause I love cooking novels like the film emperor’s live cooking broadcast, but at least they’re usually described really well, with a purpose/shows off MC’s skill, and are spaced put in bite sized pieces.

There was barely any plot development in those 25 chapters, and it didn't really show off food aspect very well compared to actual cooking based novels. Kinda disappointing.
