Look, the novel starts okay in the first arc but then continuously free falls into a messy bland convoluted pile of bad Arcs...

Author has a really bad habit of focusing on the cannon fodder “heroine” or new villains of the worlds MC arrives in.

Lots of wasted basically filler chapters, MC acting somewhat like scum, and complete nonsensical events.

... more>> Minor show of inferiority syndrome, but no blatant racism as of yet.

Premise was interesting: MC arrives and replaced a grandma and then guarded someone. However, MC tends to move at random, only working via plot armor.

Author also tends to magically give MC skills that the author said they didn’t have before and there’s a whole lot of disproportionate punishments for the original protagonists that make no sense. Author tries to add extra blame to the protagonists, but a lot of it just seems like lies. Sometimes the MC doesn’t even truly do the task, but gets rewards anyway.

Zombie world arc was particularly annoying because author focused on cannon fodder mind brainwashed character being abused which was just annoying to read.

Mainly, there is too little of a focus on MC in a lot of these arcs and instead we read about the boring fodder no ones cares for acting like fodder and then being destroyed. Needs more MC... sigh.

Not a good fast wear QT, with lots of others being better :/

At least it has unique grandma placing. <<less

This is the best Fast Wearing series I read in a long time!

It feels so refreshing that I ended 2020 with this one, I'm eternally grateful to DragonTea for thinking of translating this series, definitily a must read!

Generally I stray far from stories with female leads because the romance is the main focus or the author feels the need to add some romance to 'spice' things, but if you're like me you'll enjoy this series.

The Main character, Tang Lihua transmigrates as a grandma and her role is one of a mentor and a protector, if you will. The supporting characters that she needs to help are the ones responsible for the romance bits, and still the main focus of the arcs are on the mission itself and obviously the relationship between MC her grandchildren. Even the romance bits aren't as important as the grand children self improvement. Stealing someone else's words: «Tang Lihua appears when her grandchildren are 'the most starving', but instead of fishing for them she teaches them how to fish, »

Speaking of it is very heartwarming the relationship she builds with her mission targets. MC treats them with care not solely out of professionalism that a tasker should have but also because genuinely to loves and care for every single one of them. Her grandchildren have their own personalities, as for the antagonists and some side characters, though most of them aren't one dimensional, there's a few of them whose actions I found utterly unrealistic and brain-dead, but this minor problems do not affect much the reading experience.

MC is very likeable, though she's op and have her system, most of the time she relies her own judgement and skills to accomplish the mission sucessfuly. I love the fact that she's not a typical cold and ruthless MC, or has low eq just for the sake of cuteness. To reach her level she worked very hard and because of her life experience, her decisions and judgements do make sense. Though she wants to attain her goal, she never treats the people she meets on her missions as simple npc but strives to teach her targets in a way that even if she leaves the world they no longer are as obsessed or naive enough to fall in the path of doom like in the original timeline.

Spoiler

Though she can buy skills in the system, this skills have limitations thus balancing MC op level. For example, in one world she buys the hacking skill and her level becomes god-like but a couple of arcs later she needs the hacking skill again but she no longer can use it.

Most important of all

Spoiler

Not all the heroines are bad people! There are three arcs where her cannon-fodder grandchildren actually end up having good relationships with the heroines. Two of them even got the girl in the end! In short, in this story female characters aren't being made as b*tches just because they happen to be females or have a r*pe-level punishment just because they are against MC and her grandchildren, though the antagonists do get their due desserts in very satisfying ways.

The only arc that left me unsatisfied

Spoiler

In this one, Tang Lihua transmigrated as a grandma in a blood-sucking family and the grand-daughter she needed to protect also happened to be the heroine of the world. Cutting the story short, due to the original indulgence towards her younger grandson, her son and daughter-in-law became more and more outrageous in their behavior - her son became a gambler addict, her younger grandson as well attempted to kill the heroine because of his gambling debts - as for daughter-in-law, the heroine's aunt, was a vicious woman who abused the heroine almost to death, and the original by emotionally blackmailing her. Fortunately, the heroine met the ML otherwise she wouldn't end well.

The thing, though the heroine's cousin, grandma and uncle were scum, they never mistreated the heroine physically, at least in the childhood. The aunt was different. She physically and emotionally abused the heroine, so I felt that her punishment was very light in this arc, leaving me unsatisfied though I understand why the MC chose that way. Again I could've missed somethings in MTL.

In short, I can't wait for the translation to pick up so many more people can read this. If you have enough time check the raw version, you won't regret it!

Update [Complete 24/04/2021]:

This is the first time I'm returning to an old review. Long story short, I managed to finish this novel, and I must say I agree with some of the reviewers. At first, the book seemed fresh however, the more I read the more nonsensical the plot became and also boring and repetitive.

However, I don't agree with @7starkiller99 when they say that there were pointless fillers with the side characters. In fact, I think that since the point of the entire novel is MC saving hergrand-children, they should be given screen-time and development as possible. Instead the opposite happened.

Looking back, the targets at the beginning were more developed and their stories made me deeply care about them and root for everything to go fine. Unfortunately, the last arcs aren't the same, the targets are just... there, and look like a basic copy of each other. The system also just stopped making sense, and at one point the author no longer cared and started giving random plot-armors to MC.

The villains also never improved, in fact they got worst and worst. Specially in the penultimate, to me it was just the worst arc in the novel, though let's say the ending was better than expected.

My final rating is 3.5, only because I did enjoy the first half of the novel and thought the idea was refreshing. Unfortunately, the only thing lacking is execution <<less

This novel is very nice world hopping novel. Recommend it. MC is grandmother, her task to guard female partner and cannon fodder, and protect them from scum characters or plot. I really like first and second arcs most. I love the granddaughter’s character growth. She is very interesting.

I love the heartwarming scene between MC and her granddaughter. It’s enjoying and interesting family love world hopping novel.

The MC said she felt pity for the ori host and the cannon fodder, but what about the heroine? The heroine's father was unfavored and the ori host was so biased. She was cruel enough to be stingy and not lend a money to treat a child's fever! Tell me, why would the heroine be filial to that kind of grandmother? I don't understand what to pity for a vicious relative like that. Also, the cannon fodder too, although she was young, she knows what's right from wrong. She pushed someone to the lake and caused the other party to die, if the koi didn't take over the body, wouldn't that make her a real mu*derer? I don't understand why is there a need to save these useless and spoiled bratty people, they deserved their own ending.

Tang LiHua is one great grandma everyone should have her as their grandma. 5 stars just a great read.

Well written, fun and engaging plots, very solid character development what's not to love.

The MC reminds me of Nero Wolfe. She sizes up the situation, makes her plan and greases the skids, finally watching it play out like a domino rally. One after the other the pieces fall and the victims err villains are all left wondering what happened and the reader is left smiling.

Its a good read if you are looking for a quick wear story without a CP, the little romance there may be it will be for the locals FL and ML or the grandchild of the MC.

Nice sort of child rearing with face slapping novel, where while there are plenty of cannon fodder, not all characters are unreasoanable caricatures or threaten as unredemeable.

A fresh approach to the cliché trope.

The premise of the story is that the MC have a system that helps her transmigrate in different worlds. In each world, she has a mission to accomplish in order to move on to another world. But there is a catch: instead of the transmigrating as a typical main character, she becomes a grandmother. Hence, this bit makes it more interesting.

There are multiple worlds with vastly different story genres, from modern to historical to cultivation and even apocalyptic. However, there really is no plot... more>> progression for the MC as a transmigrator of multiple worlds. Instead, just think of this novel as 1 novel with multiple stand alone stories.

At first, the unique character of the MC, compared to other novels in the same trope, feels like a fresh air. However, the novel's great premise gradually lost its momentum as the story goes on. The novel is a bit repetitive if not boring.

Also, don't expect any romance for MC because there is none. The most romance you can squeeze from this comes from her grandhildren lol.

It's a bit mediocre but I enjoyed reading it, hence, the four stars. <<less

I had to read the full story in MTL so sometimes I had to go back to the original Chinese to get a better reading experience but one thing that I appreciated with this novel is that you finally get a main character that use common sense both are on and the one of the time. She is in and she isn’t a holy mother character

I liked the story in the beginning, but the further it goes, the more outrageously powerful MC becomes... She's supposed to be side characters' grandma, not some kind of Heaven defying existence...

Especially in You family arc that I'm reading now.

Spoiler

She directly bought a bigger golden finger than original ML has, and pressed everyone with her strength, because she's so powerful, and can summon a Lightning Tribulation snake that everyone is fearful of. WTF is that even. She's a cannon fodder character, how can she be so powerful!?

[collapse]

I don't dislike weak-to-strong protagonists, but the contrast from the first worlds where MC cleared her tasks without the system's help is too sharp. Maybe it would be exactly someone's cup of tea (especially if you liked Quick Transmigration Cannon Fodder’s Record of Counterattacks), but for me it's a bit too much of OP. Makes it difficult to enjoy the plot when you know everything will be cleared because of some new special cheat. <<less

The You family arc was skipped because it was too much of a deux machina that it breaks my three views of cultivation world.

The obsessed president arc has 3? Or 4? Chapters filled with abusive plot that has no purpose except for portraying creepy and unnecessary ways of revenge. (I get that JM was a disgusting piece of S but I dont need a full chapter with him being tormented. Like get on with the story!! But maybe some peeps likes it so...)

Anyway towards the half of the book the MC only needs to make some sense (?) Of her sudden change of behavior and the rest of the world suddenly spins according to her plans plotarmor.

Why some of the original hero and heroine was so obsessed with each other? And their IQ were downgraded as soon as MC appeared.

I think the original word arc was just there because author felt MC needs some kind of closure?

The system was bullx. I dont really like chatty, crybaby, meng-selling, or even those that likes to banter internally with MCs. But this one hohoho... this one was born by the author to serve the MC. The whole system was there to make MC's life easier. It even rebound (is this even a word?? So much mtl ruins my english!) after the MC return to the original world (???). And then they left for another journey to save the world (or cannon fodder) again. 😂

[collapse]

But I finished it anyway because sometimes I just had some face slapping itch. It was no brainer reads. <<less
