I'm surprised most of these reviews take issue with her not being a virg*n, but none mention the real issue: the unreadably dull writing. For example, take their conversation after the girl accepts his confession. She says her logic for agreeing to date someone she doesn't even know is "don't you kind of like someone if they like you?" and then she explains how it's possible to get to know each other later, and perhaps fall in love for real. Ignoring that no highschool girls (and boys) think like this,... more>> this is such a boring conversation to read. There is nothing engaging, mysterious, funny, anything that keeps your on the edge on your seat for what happens next.

And then we get the following gem:

Spoiler

"Which way is your house?"

Now that she mentioned it, we're already in front of the station. The nearest station from school was not a big terminal station, however, the way leading to the ticket gate I was walking now was flourishing enough that the pedestrian traffic didn't die out even at times before rush-hour like now.

Because our school was a private school in Tokyo, many students commute to school by train. This O Station has separate entrances for JR5 and subway, so Shirakawa-san might've asked because of the timing.

"Ah, umm, it's K Station"

"Fuun, A Station for me"

"I-I see... It's close, huh"

The nearest station for me was K Station, three stations away from here and A Station was the second station before that.

"Oh, we're on the same train, right? Go let's go!"

Ye-yeah..."

Dragged in by Shirakawa-san's pace, I headed towards the JR area.

[collapse]

The narration and dialogue are lifeless. Of course, there will always be moments like these in stories, but the problem occurs when moments like these are the entirety of the story.

I was not intending to drop on Chapter 1. However, the nail in the coffin for me was when the girl asks the protagonist for s*x. There's no tense gradual romantic buildup or coy lead ins, she just takes him to her room, offers him tea, and suddenly it's time for s*x. That's how dating works, right? There's nothing witty or entertaining about this scene or his response. We get paragraphs of MC slowly realizing what she intends, than then we get the main character fantasizing about how lustful he feels before he declines in a fluster. The punchline at the end of the chapter sums it all up nicely:
Spoiler

Then, after returning home in a dreamland.

"I knew I should've done it~~ Uuuoooooooh─────!"

It's a secret from Shirakawa-san that I was attacked by extreme feelings of regret and fainted in agony in bed.

[collapse]

You can feel that the author intended this to be humorous, which leads me to believe the author is some 14 year old. This is not an insult, just an explanation. I did not enjoy the story at all, but writing for fun or even writing as an outlet for whatever fantasies you have is great. It doesn't change that the story is garbage though. <<less

In all honesty, I don't like this story, especially the dynamics between the MC and the FMC. I hate it when such stories have an FMC who has already done "it" since I don't read rom-com novels to get reminded of the real-life dating scene which is getting more and more fcked up day by day.

That said, it is a good story with no apparent faults and the translations are excellent. It's just not my cup of tea.

Lot of text told ya.

  1. As people have already said before, and it's true; the writing is bad, dialogues are utterly bad, why? C'mon, a dog can bark better at other dogs when it's excited, but a dude only says "Nnn" "Mmm" "Aaah" "I'm a mob, this is not my environment haha!!". F*ck it, dude, MC got the short end.
  2. About the FMC it'¡s important to say this now, Author-san is a woman, and she's writing about herself; experiences? Or fantasy of how she would like to behave, dunno! But take this in consideration because I think this novel is being tainted by her desires. Ok, I will rant first with the defenders of this work that says "This is like reality bla bla bla!!!", remember folks, the reality you are reading is from Japan P.O.V., first we all know at this point Japan has serious problems with minors <18 years old, that have their family "destroyed", how? Mother cheats, father cheats, the fundamental pillar of society around the world, the nucleus of society is destroyed, so these children escape from home, and because they don't have where to go, they got 2 options, find more like themselves and or find some adults to take care of them, the unfortunate ones that doesn't have relatives will end in the streets and without food, the only escape route to survive is: prostitution. Yes, it's happening and is a problem, and this novel is referenced. Ok let's take now the FMC, she has a broken nucleus of family, ok, father is there, but isn't there, why, oh the working hours and the "honor" of the salary men in Japan, poison to their society, she's alone, and probably never received actual s*x Education from her father, don't understand the acts and consequences of the early s*x, yes, and she experienced first hand as well; multiple partners, and because we can extract this from the novel probably s*x without cond*ms, maybe STIs.
Ok, what else, the novel tries to give us that guilty feeling that she needs to be rescued. Don't fall for this, MC is not a plumber to fix damaged property.
  3. MC, by the information we have MC has values, very traditional values, he's a teenager, and we can understand that he have a freaking potent s*xual drive, but because he has his morals and values he doesn0t want to have s*x at the same day they're dating. Fabulous, a man with principles that Author-san (WOMAN) decide to broke. Decide to broke in this way, he's always saying that he's like a mob, and have a lower status because he's virg*n and all the FMC female friends are whores. He looks at himself and his values as low and is starting to question why he's with her, but magically, that train of thoughts vanished in a split of a nanosecond, and puff, he has a "GIRLFRIEND" and that's what matters. Also, he's being abused mentally and psychologically by the "best friend" of FMC. [Why do want enemies with friends like this].
  4. Author-san [I'm coming for you nibba], analyzing this work, and then going to twitter of author-san, seeing how she dress and how she behaves, I have a few speculations for why she created this story: Firstly, she has a stable family (married) and strict parents, and she would very likely portrait herself being the FMC have more experiences and sh*t (it's very likely). Secondly, she was like FMC at first, but then IRL experiences, she found someone she loves, but the man have values and morals and immediately say "begone THOT" when she tried to f*ck him, and now she is writing a story where male MC accepts a person like here with all the bullsh*t attached; and because of this she's now more moderate, she tries to look more like a woman with values and want's to find someone that can accept her. (Plausible), looks like she's in her 39-43 years old, so be my guest.
  5. The narrative of "I wish that all my first experiences are with you", oh look, the FMC is growing? But too bad, you can't go back in time, and now she understands that her actions now have consequences, who would have thought about that? And in an ideal work of literature with a good narrative and growing characters, MC would snap in to reality, do a reality check for himself and say "f*ck it, I deserve more and better, why should I pay a full price for a used bicycle, when I can obtain a brand new Rolls Royce?". And it is at this point that I will rant against the one's saying "but women aren't objects, bla bla bla", look, relationship is like a yoke, it needs balance, both of those who are involved need to talk, act and not only that, have the same values, morals but not opinions, opinions are free, but morals and values define archetypes, that will help you grow mutually. So a man is expected to be the provider, to work, to have a house; when a woman (nowadays) they say that she offers "herself", is because they don't have anything more of value to offer to a man and a man simply says "begone THOT", then they just rant and explode. The audacity huh? Well is because the expectations for men is how society dictates, but from women, we men have expectations as well, like what? Have compassion, be kind, a virg*n is top 1 priority because it has a value, a value we seek constantly; respect their parents, how she treats her brothers or sisters as well; all of that give us information, we don't ask, men just observe and judge, and we separate them like this: 1- Whore, f*ck and leave, don't explain a shit. 2-Marriage material, proceed to marry that woman.
So, because v**ginity is so valuable for us man, we do a metaphor, yes between something of value against something that doesn't have value; a woman is not virg*n, she has lost most of her value for marrying purposes, or dating with marrying in a couple of years, ok she's not virg*n, and then she has a child and the father of the child is not there, sorry you have lost all your value. But there's hope if a MC like this one appears, where he throws off through the window all his morals and values and decide he wants to play a saved game instead of write a new game and enjoy the experience.

TL;DR LMAO = "Author-san is a woman in his 44-50's and did bad to MC, she fantasies to be the FMC and so the story is utterly sh*t LMAO"

Ah, where do I even begin with this web of storytelling... "Bound by Fate: His High School Love Affair"? The title should've been my first warning sign, and yet, I trudged on—my curiosity is a curse, I swear.

As a devoted anime enthusiast and a connoisseur of light novels, I'm no stranger to characters that tread outside the realm of 'typical'. Yet, this narrative, my friends, goes beyond that. Here, we are introduced to a female lead who frolics through the plot like a flagrant libertine, compromising the very essence of... more>> character development.

What's worse? Our 'golden boy' main character seems to be ensnared by this inexplicably promiscuous siren. It's as if he's stuck in some bizarre vortex where common sense has taken an extended vacation. Let me say this, my fellow readers: there's a fine line between quirky character traits and unmitigated disregard for the values we uphold.

Chastity and fidelity might seem old-school, but they're the pillars of any profound relationship narrative. However, in this tale, these elements have been kicked aside, replaced by an insidious message that it's all fair game in love. Oh, but it isn't!

Now, I get it, authors often push boundaries. But remember the line between 'bold' and 'ill-conceived'. Our dear authoress here, I'm afraid, has crossed that line and ventured into the abyss of the latter.

The female lead, as seductive as she's meant to appear, feels more like a caricature than a fully fleshed-out character. It's as if the author's idea of being 'different' is creating a character who is, for lack of a better term, off the rails. Her behavior, far from being quirky or edgy, simply feels inappropriate.

Then there's our unfortunate male lead, the supposed 'good guy', who is inexplicably drawn to this whirlwind of a woman. Despite his previously established principles and the author's attempts to paint him as an upstanding character, he falls for her. I mean, is this meant to be a love story or a cautionary tale?

I could ramble on, but let's be succinct: there's pushing the envelope, and then there's sending it off the cliff. This story? It's doing a swan dive right off that precipice. <<less

Honestly call me misogynist or anything and even hate me but its just not my cup of tea and yes even tho her not being a virg*n plays a role but it isn't that big like I have read many manga/ ln where the fMC isn't really virg*n and some times even has kids but Ima be honest with ya as a highschool senior I wouldn't really prefer someone with that much body count like 1 or 2 is aight before graduating highschool but more then that and I feel... more>> uncomfortable like yes I feel disgusted obviously I wouldn't give a fck if she was 20+ but here we are literally talking bout a 16 yr old girl.

Maybe its cause I was raised in a country with beliefs of being virg*n before marriage is good (which I don't really agree with) but I still can't let go of that belief completely.

2. I don't like how pu*sy the MC is I mean I get it he is a mob or a character that usually gets bullied but atleast put up a fight/ confront them when u see them talking sh*t bout u or like put up a fight against b*tches who literally wanna use ya but he doesn't so thats another point that was off for me

3. The cast I hate like whats with the amount of b*tches and scums..... it felt like I was reading a fcking manhua. <<less

Pretty good as a romance novel, about what you would expect. There are major complaints but I am more willing to ignore them knowing Japanese culture to not lower the stars, (if I wasn't this is 2.5 stars EDIT: 1 star upon attempt to reread, writing and drama is way too bad.), basically I am rating it 4 stars as it basically meets expectations of a Japanese romance novel even if its worse overall as a standard novel.

Author really pushes the fact that the fMC isn't a virg*n, in... more>> some cases it makes sense, since it's related to what is said (rumours about fMC or her past) but in some contexts it is just really weird for a story that is about how it doesn't matter. This one is minor to be honest.

Secondly, I absolutely f*cking hate the fMC friend. She straight up drugs 2 of the MC friends and its seen as completely fine and in fact puts the blame on them and the MC (Those 2 friends then get in complete trouble because of this and it's seen as a joke) ? That's not an okay thing to do. Then when people think the MC cheated on his gf (with very minimal "proof" mind you), instead of actually trying to help, she just beats on the MC (I think she actually hits him which is... great) and doesn't let him contact her at all, it also seems she stopped her friend (fmc) from contacting him, which would of resolved the understanding immediately - instead the MC is forced to constantly feel like sh*t whilst people think he is a cheater, whilst those 2 just go out on the beach and have fun, then afterwards its seen as a growing thing for the MC. HE LEARNT LITERALLY NOTHING, NONE OF WHAT HAPPENED WAS HIS FAULT. And to be completely blunt, it was okay for the fMC since she had support and she wasn't even paying attention to it, whilst the MC is the only one who got trampled. Just that whole section of the story completely baffles me. It the same feeling as one of those "make your man miss you by doing something shitty" type of thing where only one person in the relationship suffers for the pleasure of the other.

What's worse is knowing the fMC past experiences it seems her friend actually did more against the MC (who for this whole time pretty much was great to the fmc) the moment one thing happened (which isn't even confirmed), then she did to any of the shits she dated before, it is portrayed as if she can see through people but she is f*cking sh*t at it.

It wouldn't of been that bad if she was just one of many friends but she is portrayed as the fmc's best friend who is a good and reasonable person whilst being the complete opposite every time she appears.

Thirdly Power Balance, specifically the absolution of the fMC in everything and the opposite for the MC and how everyone (including the author) treats them. Time to criticise the MCs. I can believe that the MC hasn't dated that is perfectly normal, but that doesn't excuse the way he acts towards the fMC as a saint when they are dating, it just seems unhealthy and clearly is bad for the MC (which is later proved to be true during the "cheating" incident). Its the exact same as how the fMC treated her sh*t ex-es except that she doesn't cheat on him. On the other hand, the fMC is seen as pure in everything other than body and the fact she was "easy" was blamed solely on her exs as if they were some nebulous evil force beyond understanding. No, you were acting "easy" whether you justifiably had no reason to know you were or not, to be fair, most the blame should go to her family and friend who do jack sh*t to help her other than console her after everything is done. Which is absolutely insane. They treat her as some princess and she never actually learns anything throughout the whole story. The epitome of this is once again the cheating incident where the MC is still seen as the one at fault through it all whilst the fMC is just thrown to the side whilst he takes the full brunt of everything.

Like seriously the MC deserves better lol. If he dated the fMC sister it would be better balanced.

To summarise:

The fMC does not grow at all and is let to stay naive throughout and absolved of any sin or fault.

Specifically, the people around her despite being told to be good people are pretty sh*t to her in not actually helping her, only dealing with aftermath, and are complete sh*t to almost everyone else in some cases (Looking at you "friend")

The MC is constantly abused and lowered despite the fact he is ACTUALLY saintly to the fMC and (I hate the word but it fits) simps for the fMC to an unnatural degree at times. And while he does grow, he also is forced to "grow" by others whilst its not actually growth but him dealing with the abuse thrown at him by them in the first place.

I kinda wish the MC dated the fMC sister since she actually grows as a character and actually gives more love the MC then his actually gf during that whole ordeal and would be a better couple in making both of them better, instead of the current couple, where the fMC is loved and the MC just gets the title of "dating popular girl" (guess that's a flaw in the genre authors fall into) <<less

It's very lovely story.

Runa/FMC is experienced in dating, but Ryuto/MC is unexperienced in dating.

This novel is about a two people becoming a lovely couple.

Spoiler

Even though it was started by MC get a punishment game to confessed to the girl that he likes.

It was started with cheap likes, but in the end of the vol 1 both of them becoming deeply falling in love with each other.

Also in the prologue there is a statement that said runa is “A bit*h who loved naughty things and changed boyfriends frequently because she couldn’t get enough of just one guy”, it was totaly NOT TRUE. Runa is a girl that really love her BF, and she will do everything for their BF and because of it all of her EX BF assume that Runa is more like convenient girl than a girlfriend (f*ck ALL OF HER EX BF) .

Even though she was experienced, but she's too pure most of her action in the LN make your heart melted

Like I mean I agree with the peoplethat say we should obsess whether she is a virg*n or not statement however in this case its not really valid imo. I dont see why people sugar coat this shit. Literally if she was 20+ y/o then yeah f*ck it I dont mind how many guys shes f*cked but shes a literal high school student. The story would have been better if it was like she dated and f*cked 3 guys max but its hinted its way more than that to which... more>> you start just think how s*upid she is <<less

If you want to read about an innocent high school romance, this should definitely be your first pick. The story perfectly brings out the exact childhood innocence and embarrassment that every teenager feels in their first time relationship. With a cute and fluffy romance in every page, the story, without any doubt, deserves a whole hearted appreciation from every admirer of literature.

This is one of the best romance-from-early genre novel for me. There are so many things happening after they start dating and it never gets boring with all the developments. And the couple are such a sweetheart idiots its so fulfilling. There are no extreme frustrating dramas and the few that are there have good reasons and resolves nicely and quickly.

This was an extremely enjoyable read and the plot is basically the title. The plot is kind of a standard trope of unpopular guy + popular girl BUT it's done really well in terms of how the story is written.

The MC is someone who's really awkward socially and mentally, and he has practically zero experience with anyone else but his two friends at school. The punishment game he underwent to ask out the FL is what jump-starts their relationship and evolves into a light-hearted romantic-comedy plot development.

Now, you're probably thinking:... more>> Isn't this going to be cringey then? The answer to that is yes, yes it is but only initially.

We see a gradual evolution in the MC, unlike a lot of JP romantic-comedy novels, overcoming his awkwardness and taking initiative in his endeavors to get closer to the FL and understand her better. There will be moments of drama such as other men flirting with the FL and misunderstandings with the MC's past love interest but they will be resolved relatively quickly (within a chapter or two). At the end of the day, there's no unnecessary drama or forced interactions but rather a somewhat bittersweet development of two vastly different people coming together as a couple.

Don't read the reviews and think this will turn out to be a disappointing novel since I personally found it very enjoyable for the first two volumes (and hopefully will continue past the two volumes). 9/10, highly recommend for romantic-comedy lovers. <<less

Some of the reviews about how teenagers don't know how to think these ways clearly don't think much about teenagers (even pay attention to 90% of anime if we're ignoring reality). Plenty of them date simply for the sake of dating and numerous reasons. None of them probably put it into words, but there does exist girls who would say yes to someone she doesn't know asking her out, especially in a place like Japan where girls have to deal with guys who wouldn't normally ask out on their own.... more>> Her saying yes to see if the relationship lasts isn't all that rare either. Then there's the fact that what happened to her parents And herself would have matured her up in ways which would explain her getting "deep", which is not all that rare for teens.

I also don't know why someone would get annoyed at the virg*n teenager being insecure about his girlfriend not being a virg*n, and the mentions of ex boyfriends either aren't too much or make sense for the moment. Saying that the author is the one writing it in to remind the reader is ignoring the MC as a person. That's literally reality, and wouldn't even be unique only to teenagers, especially since he's worried about a lot of things, not just the fact he's a virg*n. Likewise on her end, it's obvious why an airhead but attractive girl would get the wrong ideas about s*x and dating, especially since while exaggerated, there are women who do end up seeing s*x as an obligation, which coupled with her younger age and bouncing boyfriends because she initially had an image of her parents romance and a flashy uncle, and her later discussions of her exes, makes sense why she is how she is. It's obvious most of the low reviews didn't read the story themselves, because the MC puts it perfectly. ""She tried to accommodate her boyfriend in everything. As a result of being overly accommodating to her boyfriend, she's become more of a convenient girl than a girlfriend. Her boyfriend got tired of her, and ended up replacing her. She's a beautiful, unfortunate girl."" She absolutely grows as a person, girlfriend, and character, and to say she doesn't means you weren't paying attention. Meanwhile, on the boys end, he's a kid who got rejected after misreading the signs Hachiman style and only has two friends and has basically never talked to girls. His social/dating anxiety makes absolute sense, even if occasionally exaggerated, and aren't really that much of a pain to read, and you do see his words explode out of his mouth even with girls, and once it's known he dates her, he gets more normal convos with her. It also makes sense for why he has much inner monologues, which is already normal for LNs anyways.

many of the Detractions people have are fully explainable and are just them nitpicking. It's normal for friends to not interfere with other friends dating lives unless it seems life threatening. Also, the bestie and Runa's talks explain why even further. The boy seems like a good boyfriend despite no experience because like Runa, he had an idealized romance (on top of the anime/LN influence for the cheesier parts). It's obvious why he's never asked anyone out since the first girl and Runa, it's because none of them attracted him. He isn't a simp either, but rather just trying to be a good, decent boyfriend, to a girl who's obviously had shitty experiences. Calling HIM the simp just reveals how little you're able to think about others circumstances. Her wishing to rewind time is nothing new for people, and was also a moment of weakness that she gets over, so complaining about that is like saying humans should just be perfect with no regrets. The bestie isn't a bad person unlike KA2094 complaints who blow her out of proportion. She slaps the MC once because he did things that caused misunderstandings which were at least 40% his fault. It's natural that she wouldn't help him at that stage, while the FMC wasn't ignoring him either, but just couldn't contact him because she was with her family and had no phone. Likewise, there is actually no power imbalance, because both the MC and FMC can strongly affect the other, and many of their attitudes are as I've already addressed above. Sometimes people really don't know the times to think of LNs as anime and when to think of them realistically. The drama tropes here are fun to see because the misunderstandings have a role in every characters development and reflect their dynamics with each other. <<less

This is a really well written romcom series. It's cute and fluffy with just the right hint of drama to give it a perfect balance. However there are a few little nitpicks with the series that kind of detract from the series.

  • The overuse and constant highlighting of the fact that the male MC is a virg*n, past maybe the first couple of chapters in the series, I don't think it's all that necessary to keep reminding the reader of that fact.
  • With all of Runa's exes being mentioned as complete and utter bastards, it makes you wonder why some of her friends hadn't said anything to her before hand because they know about these guys and how much they hurt her but they seem unwilling to say anything to her to alleviate her obvious naiveté on the subject
That being said, I still really love the series. It's quite clear from the series that both the male and female MC's are meant for each other, particularly when seeing how much Runa appreciates the effort the male MC puts and how she loves the little rants he goes on when talking about the things he likes. When it comes to the bullet points I mentioned above, with the way the second volume ends it's very likely that these faults will no longer apply... more>> so I'm looking forward to how volume 3 turns out. <<less

This story is considered above average and well, it is. But still it has several issues in my opinion and I wanna point them out.

- MC is too much of a simp and acts too much of a perfect boyfriend even though he is supposed to have no experience in dating.

- Why hasn't anyone dated the MC before? Is it just to push the author's narration of the MC being a virg*n despite him being kind and sincere? - Every men FMC dated are douches. (Accroding to her and her... more>> friend) Is it just not because they're turned off by the fact that she dated and had s*x with too many dudes?

- FMC's friend not telling her to stop dating and f*cking random men despite how they cheated and hurted FMC. - "It's all my old boyfriends' faults, I am perfect and there should be no reasons why they left me".

- "It's all her old boyfriends' faults, she is perfect and there should be no reasons why they left her".

- MC viewing her as some kind of saint even not knowing her much despite her not even being his type.

Just some points that make me skeptical, otherwise pretty good, definitely better than those bland <4 ratings novels. <<less

Status: v4 epilogue
After reading the 4 volumes, I have somethings I want to point out.

First of all, f*ck all of the people that decided it was bad because of the premise "non-virg*n girl". I mean, grow up. Fiction is not written to escape reality, but to understand it and change it. I think it is commendable that a japanese light novel writer is bold enough to start a story with this premise.

With that out of the way, I have to say though. This is tr*sh. I can agree wholeheartedly with everyone who... more>> says the writing is bad. I think the translation was really good, and it only made it evident that the problem is with the author. Now, I'm not going to speculate on the details about the writer, because of course it is personal information that doesn't matter that much (you wouldn't see people looking into private family photos of a male writer, would you?). But it was a shame when I found out this was written by a woman. Because after reading and facepalming through the first two volumes, I thought to myself "it is expected from a male writer", only to later find out that it was a woman. This light novel is filled with male oriented views on romance and relationship.

Now, why did I still give it a 3 out of 5? Because I actually like the characters. Even with the author efforts to make me hate Ryuuto, I can't hate him. My dude is a better MC than most of the ones i've seen out there, and it was cool to see him develop. I really like Luna, even when she takes conclusions too fast without even trying to understand the situations. I like it how the author built a pure and lovely character that isn't virg*n and has a complicated family situation (which is also bold, since Japan tries to make us believe that everyone there has the perfect family). I really like most of the characters (except Maria. F*ck you Maria).

But what I really hate is how the author took inspiration on the most s*upid shoujo drama tropes to develop the story. Cheap misunderstandings, absurd situations, and so on. You will be facepalming SO MUCH if you pick this up. Even the side characters face s*upidly written drama.

Another thing I hate is how this is essentially a "lady in distress saved by a man" story. Even though it is very possible that a lot of girls out there see s*x as an obligation like Luna, and have never actually really loved anyone, it is just sad that by the end of it I still don't know if Luna really loves Ryuuto, or if she just feels grateful because he didn't treat her like a b*tch. It comes around on itself, almost like she feels obligated to love him and eventually have s*x with him because he was gentle and respectful with her.

Overall, this is a badly written story. Which is unfortunate, because there is a lot of mysoginistic opinions about this that I think are wrong. I hope it gets better in the next volumes, but from the looks of it, the story might be reaching it's conclusion in the next couple ones. <<less

SCOUT REPORT

i personally like this series, the MC is gloomy virg*n but his character develops and he intends to care abt the frivalous looking too kind gyaru FL who has had past experience with relationships but has not learnt the meaning of true love. There is drama, meaning there is less sugar content so those looking for sugar will not finding this pretty, though there are sugary moments but the few dark moments are enough to forget about the former, character development has been there but not very high as... more>> the pace of the series is rather slow and this is being written at a early time.

I am interested in what the future is gonna hold for those two, coz they both seem to have some kinda circumstances which will have a big influence in their relationship's future. <<less

A heartwarming story about a school couple among which one has lots of dating experience and the other has none. This story is offering nothing new compared to the other stories of the same genre. Yet, it is a good read. The writing style does not bore the reader and the chapters are well written. There are no long-stretched dramas or anything like that. It is about a couple from the bottom and top tiers of the school caste who had their own view about relationships, discovers their own love... more>> slowly. <<less

First off I am appalled at so many reviews claiming (or implying) that a girl/woman has lost her value if she has already done the deed. The whole premise is based around the fact that the female MC is "experienced", it's in the title! I don't get the idea of reading the novel knowing that fact, just to end up leaving an overly negative (and misogynistic) review.

With that out of the way, I still have to admit KimiZero has its fair share of mediocrity. The story is rather dull, and... more>> the dialogues are often shallow (as opposed to deep).
But there's one thing that the author does very well. The story has decent pacing, with a good mix between tension buildup and release, volume after volume.

If you're looking for the guilty pleasure of a romance story where the two main characters get to grow as lovers, entwined with a little bit drama spiciness, then that is most likely for you. Even if it's not great, I found myself enjoying this much more than I anticipated. There's some kind of weird magic going on.

The female MC's actions seem to be completely out of place at first, but you quickly learn that she's pretty naive and basically an easy girl. Room for character development (which happens... to some extent).
The male MC is your typical gloomy loner who has to become more and more confident over time and tries hit best to become a worthy boyfriend. Also character development.
I like all the side characters too. They don't simply serve the purpose of being wingmen, but all have fairly distinct personalities and their own side romance as the story goes. <<less

The first and one of the best LN I ever read, Thanks to this. I became interested in reading light novels.

The story is Heartwarming, And the illustrations are so nice.

What I really like about this. Is that the MC, even though he is inexperienced is still trying to be different and be the best BF the FMC has ever seen. And even though he's a simp sometimes, he still keeps his purity.
