Sun ray arc is a complete pile of poop. Skip it. It starts around chapter 170 and ends around 202. It's so terrible it would get 1 star and if I include it in the score it would lower the whole score to 2.5 because it makes so much damage to the main character and everything he stands for. Not to mention is so boring and pointless. It actually made me mad and feeing like I wasted my life reading this dong of an arc.

Well it's a little disappointing. I don't have a problem with info dumps but the phasing was waaaay~ to slow. The Author also has a habit of dragging out unimportant scenes specifically the fight with bear which gave me drop out.

Let me start of by saying this one is a slow burn. Im talking glacial. A lot of negative comments come from people whove only read half of the first arc and got bored. The author goes into a LOT of detail about world building and stuff. It all weaves together but the payoff is long term ... more>>
Spoiler

(he doesnt even meet his waifu till way into the dungeon arc)

If you can stick to it once the author has established the world, the systems and everything else the story really starts to take off. MC literally starts changing the world first at home and then out and about. He meets and recruits other reincarnators and builds his power base slowly over time.

Once the story gets going you will be drawn into the characters as the MC builds an elite team which grows stronger with every encounter. Despite the large number of characters the author balances it well and each character has their own personality and development over time. I found myself caring about these characters and felt genuine anxiety whenever a cliffhanger left them in a precarious position.
Spoiler

The dragon fight particularly damn near ended me. Multiple chapters with worrisome cliffhangers and ended with an event that ive still not gotten over!

[collapse]

All in all maybe not everyones cup of tea. Overly descriptive at times and takes a while for the plot to take off but once its flying you wont look back. <<less

wishy-washy author. 4/5ths of the words are MC narration instead of action.
implausible missed opportunities for character growth, which are obviously due to the author forgetting to have the MC perform the activity.
implausible plot-armor developments for the sake of creating additional drama... though not too many of those, fortunately.
MC is obviously not JSDF material, but supposedly the character is supposed to have been JSDF material. Sadface.

It's alright overall, but I'd frankly recommend staying away from this one. Supposedly the author stops torturing readers with inefficiency at around chapter... more>> 120 and onward, but I haven't gotten that far to confirm or deny. The translator has the patience and persistence of an isekai hero, so I am doubtful that I'll quite agree with the author's opinion once I get there.

Oh. Also, the translator sucks at writing. There are critically missing commas, dashes, and periods. Often times, poor wording is used. In summary, it's often difficult to decode what the translator is trying to express. <<less

I recommend It for all those who like a complex story, with well-written characters and relationships.

Although there's is a loooooot of useless parts in the beginning (first 60/80 chapters) you can even skip without much problems, it gets better, and the later arcs are much less filled with monologues and such.

So, hang in there if you're searching for a book that's well-written (with a world and characters that makes sense) rather than an easy, enjoyable story where the author doesn't really try to build a world or anything.

Too much info that's irrelevant to the story. I skipped a lot of paragraphs and chapters but I still didn't miss anything or got lost, that's because there's way too many unnecessary details. But I guess the plot is okay.

Sorry but it was too much for me.. Although its not in the main story and just a side story this series should have included a tragedy tag..

As for the main series the first volume was tolerable, it would be better to just skim it, nothing really important happening,

After that the story starts to get better but I still suggest to skim the walls of text which would serve as no other function other than a filler. It's easy to tell since once the MC starts talking/explaining it kinda... more>> breaks your immersion of the story.

As for the characters well I'll just say the MC is just a tsundere IMO even though he thinks he is cold there are really moments that he just became warm.

Although he is still very annoying when he starts talking about becoming a king, I don't know why but it feels kind of out of character even though its already decided just by the title of this novel..

I really don't like skipping chapters even side stories and I always avoid tragedy tagged novels but this one really got me so I'm dropping it not because its bad but because of its genre.. <<less

Bad side:
*Massive infodumps.
I know that that the author is trying to do a very detailed world building, and yes the author was able to achieve it but the price is the readability of this novel. It became so bland that it is now unbearable to read it (special mention chapter 72). Majority of this info dumps can actually be summarized into 2-3 sentences.
*Poorly fleshed out side character
After reading 70 chapters for almost 24 hours, I can't even describe the the nature of side characters. For example,... more>> the protagonist's parents. According to the info dump, Al's parents love him like how he was loved before reincarnation. But I can't remember where that kind of trait was portrayed except the part of Al's departure. According to the info dump, Myul is grateful for giving her a nice life and the funny part was I am unable to recall a part where Myul is grateful or such.
*Bland story telling
TBH, I didn't feel any kind of hype or adrenaline rush despite the fact that this is an adventure novel.

Good side:
Everything that was said by Darkzeta in his review of this novel.

P.S. I am still reading it. And I'm gonna update this review if there is something notable to add/insert here <<less
