Nagami Suzuka is a beautiful third-year middle school student who has excellent grades and is the student council president. She wrote a novel about a little sister who dotes on her big brother, and the novel wins a light novel award. After they discuss the matter, Yuu, her big brother, is the one who debuts as a proxy light novel author instead of Suzuka under the pen name Towano Chikai (Eternal Promise).

Review after finishing the series: Unfortunately it really drops off after about volume 6 and nothing of note happens. It's just dull. After finishing the series, I'm just glad the torture is over. It dragged on way longer than it should have.

Review from v4c1: First, to address the elephant in the room: The anime was awful. Like, seriously majorly bad. I watched it as it came out just to see how terribly it could be messed up every week. And boy did it just get worse and worse. So suffice... more>> it to say that I came here mostly out of morbid curiosity, to see if the source material had any actual merit. And I was very pleasantly surprised.

Firstly, it's worth mentioning that I've been working with CClaw as an editor, so I can't really speak objectively about translation quality. Instead, I'll just talk about the story itself.

It's actually really good. I was very surprised. It IS a siscon story, but it manages to come across as actually really cute and wholesome, rather than slightly creepy like stories like OreImo and EroManga tend to be. It really helps that the imouto is really well-written, and the male MC is the straight man amongst a whole crowd of crazies. The story really hits its stride in volume 3, where the anime started cutting a LOT of really good character interactions. Other than that, it's standard harem hijinks, so you know what to expect on that front. Though I do feel like it manages to not be completely tropey. And it is very self-aware, where a lot of similar stories aren't.

Give it a try! It's quite worth your time if you're willing to give it a chance. You won't find shallow characters or overused tropes as much. Instead, it's actually a genuine, cute story about, uh, in*est. But a wholesome kind of in*est. Yeah, that.

(Also there are sections written from the imouto's POV and they're freaking adorable) <<less

Simply too beautiful, especially the imouto character! Such a great imouto character, particularly for imouto lovers!

The series has similar vibe with Oreimo and, especially, with Eromanga Sensei (yeah, I know both aforementioned series are coming from the identical author, but still...)

For me personally, the brother (onii-chan) is much more likeable than the ones in Oreimo, although not as brave, mindful, and level-headed as the one in Eromanga

... more>> The translation is better than average with minimum typo, although unfortunately, he/she is not having that much active visitors/commentators

I cannot wait for the continuation chapters! <<less

I loved the story but felt dragged on more than it should have done so? Nonetheless, I enjoyed it. I think everyone got a fair share of their own happy endings.

I feel like this could have been more longer such as the parents' arc. They were not really a part of the story nor even appeared once in the story. Basically, these siblings are a bit too free in their own world.

As per usual, the MC is very dense. I have to give it to you there. He kept on... more>> denying his feelings, though logically thinking he is actually correct there. The very good thing that neutralized it was the little sister being lovable and cute. Suzuka is too good which carried the story all throughout.

I expected more from the story but this is fine in its own way. I rate it a 5* as I am satisfied with how it went, but it could be better. <<less

For me it was a basic little sister novel, I emphasize the word basic, because its nothing like the ''kiss x sis'' or ''Yusoga no Sora'' series, (which made me want to commit die/ I don't recommend them)... Now then, back on topic, SPOILER=[/spoiler i.e I was not expecting the 2 siblings at the end, to end up with each other ]. It was enjoyable to read, there was also an anime which was very, bad... Tt covered around 4 to 5 volumes of the light novel and the manga... more>> does not progress any further from the anime as well. So if you wanted to find out how the story progressed, you would have had to read it in the light novels. In general the series was not that popular, and it does not have to be. You only need to enjoy it for what it is, and some people do enjoy this, for me it was not the best but it certainly was not the worst. The characters over all I think were perfect to fit the story, there weren't that many or less people, (well of course you need a lot for a harem xd). The stories main plot and development was not bad, I approve. though there were some moments I read that was like ''no, no, no, stop'' or ''what is going on?'' it made me really read all the way to the end, I has hooked. When I read Light novel, I read all the way to the end. Other wise I wont be satisfied since I don't know how the story concludes. Over all I give it 6/10. I might not return to re-read it, but at the end of the day we move onto the next one... <<less

The story is pretty good, but the translation is overly localized and hard to read in its original context. Everything has been westernized and English-ified that reading becomes a chore instead of making it a fun read. It would be be better to stick to normal English with Japanese context, honorifics, etc. That's pretty much the only problem.

Loved the story, especially the ending. The male character is quite dense when it comes to love, though not to the point of absurdity. For the most part I'm glad there was noticeable development/progression throughout the story, so the ending didn't feel like a sudden bombshell. The occasional POV swap from the onii-chan to the imouto was very entertaining.

I have to say that I only read one of the two filler.5 volumes and honestly felt like I could have skipped it, as it doesn't contribute to the main story whatsoever.

Wishing... more>> there was an after story, like 1 year later. There's still a lot of potential in a new environment, but even without that it's fine. <<less
