He Bai won the lottery, became rich, and reached the pinnacle of life. Then, he inadvertently took a picture of the Film Emperor Di Qiuhe being killed. And after reporting this case to the police, he was reborn in a midst of confusion.

He Bai: I don’t have any horrible relatives to abuse. Why was I reborn?

Di Qiuhe: But I do.

He Bai: I also haven’t been betrayed or harmed by anyone. Why was I reborn?

Di Qiuhe: But I have.

He Bai: I just want to have some money to live freely and eat well. I already achieved that goal, so why was I reborn?

Di Qiuhe: I have money, but don’t live freely or well.

He Bai angrily flips the table: So what’s the use of my rebirth! Just to make me suffer again?!

Di Qiuhe (Holding and Touching He Bai): Be my lover, you’re only responsible for eating “lollipops,” you won’t eat any bitterness.

He Bai: Leave!

Huhuhu He Baaiiii! Di Qihueeeee! Why so soon! I'm gonna miss you!

THIS STORY IS REALLY SO GOOD! THE BEST! HOW I WISH THEY TRANSLATE IT BETTER! If ever they translate it again I'll read it again! Huhuhu I really love this story! It didn't have any 3rd party drama or any dramatic scenes but it's funny on its own way. I love how He Bai at Di Qihue interact with each other. I hope I could fine someone like this two have. I hope for everyone's happiness.

Don't pay heed to the low rating review!

I actually want to bang my head against the wall because I ignored this masterpiece of a novel for years just because of a s*upid review of someone who dropped it on just ch 20 and reviewed it mindlessly.I AM SO GLAD THAT I TOOK MY CHANCES READING THIS NOW! It was worth my time!!! Let me give you the reasons:

    • Rebirth? Yeah thats a pretty common concept now but I didn't know it was only the rebirth of the MC and the ML was totally clueless! It was the story of the MC who 'thought' his rebirth was useless but he finally got to know with time how lucky he was to get reborn! He himself admitted that in his previous life he would have remained lonely and miserable and now that he knows the feeling of 'home' he doesn't want to go back to the 'house' lifestyle!
    • MC didn't really have any redeeming quality or anything so that I loved him or doted on him. But I dare say, yes he was the ML's lucky star. From coincidentally helping the ML to actively helping him. MC literally has my respect for all the love and warmth he gave the ML. Ever seen a uke build their home all according to ML's wishes with his own money? Ever seen a MC thinking about how he could snuff out his affection and keep the ML company as long as the ML was happy? I was literally crying from how wholesome that was!!! And I loved how mature the MC was! Thats a really reborn MC right there not like other MC who act like they lost all their brain cells. Even after he got in a relationship, I was so glad he wasn't the cutesy blushy type and remained the same!
    • And finally, time to elaborate about the ML (i see a lot of people have problems with him so I got a whole speech ready *cracks fingers*) so y'all think ML is not good and you hate him because he's childish? Then i'll ask you guys why the heck do you even hate such a cute and adorable guy???!!! From when he was 4 to his current age, he never recieved a speck of love and had to be on guard so when he finally found someone who gives him warmth and a sense of protection can't he even be spoiled???? Well guys I'm sorry that he's a cute, adorable ML who never forced the MC just wilfully requested the MC some of his time and not your overbearing domineering emotionless president ML who can only go omoshiroi and r*pe the MC! And ok, if you still wanna hate him on how he was acting childish even after the reason I gave you then let me tell you yeah he appears wilful but at the end of every interaction with the MC, you can read for yourself how the MC always felt so touched (how he bought his own autograph/gave free money to how he celebrated MC's birthday for him even when the MC didn't remember it himself) proving he was always gentle/attentive towards the MC. People said he was exhorting MC of his money in the start. EXM? Are we reading the same novel? He clearly bought his own autograph/paid for arcade. He never wanted money for the steak too (seeing how he teased the MC). He just once asked the MC for his tea and noodles which cost like what 50 yuan at most??? And after he realized he was in love albeit he was still childish, he was so so freakin gentle with the MC, listening to whatever he wanted. He himself said he'll improve more!He even learned how to cook just for him even if he burned his hands! And when they had their first time just because the MC got a fever he said he was even fine with not ever doing it!!! Well idk about you all but I love this man quite a lot!He is such a breath of fresh air!! Totally adorbs!!!
    • The romance is great FLUFF, FLUFF AND FLUFF!!! Both leads grew in love with each interactions and finally becoming inseparable.I just loved how they both loved surprising each other with great surprises on different occasions. They both spoiled each other and both listened to each other's opinions! Thats a healthy couple right here! And that proposal by the ML to the MC!! I was really crying and squealing at that!!!
    • Now talking about the revenge part, it was SATISFYING!!!!! Like not really vicious but exactly what those all hypocrite scheming bastards deserved!!! Both the MC and ML didn't really dig pits or scheme for them, this novel was the pure definition of karma is a bi*ch. They all eventually got their just desserts for tormenting the ML, my poor boi his whole life.I'm so glad that even in his past life, even tho Qiuhe died atleast he got justice and reading how in the parallel universe my poor boi Quihe who suffered for decades (just like in prev. Life) met He Bai again.

    • Even though it had entertainment industry involved, super glad to tell you guys that there wasn't much malicious scheming/face slapping/weibo this and that/neitzens rioting involved
    • Side characters were truly fineeee af (i loved how we got a lot of friendly charas) showing that the entertainment industry is not all malicious scheming rather good people are always present. Not everyone is vicious enough to scheme, not all the girls wanna get in bed with the leads and people are not s*upid!
    • Villains actually felt like they had brains rather than acting all s*upid just there to serve as cannon fodders/annoying pests who s*upidly scheme but get face slapped by leads. Their actions had deliberate thinking and motives involved and they remained till the end and didn't disappear in the middle
    • Ending was GREAT!!! Loved the extras describing the events of the future and THANK YOU AUTHOR!!! For the extras showing me how the 35 y/o Qiuhe in a parallel universe also found his He Bai! I nearly cried due to that!
The translation site is surely to blame tho not only they cut the chapters so much without mentioning it which made it seem like readers had read so much but

there was little development while in reality that wasn't the case (it just 'felt' like so due to the divided chapters). They also had bad translation quality which made the novel seem third rate tr*sh for lil while. Thats why, People just mindlessly dropped it and gave bad reviews. But you gotta be PATIENT!! The translation quality did get better and the novel was great enough to make me madly binge it!

I was really overwhelmed by this masterpiece! Its one of its kind! I loved it 10/10.Once again I repeat don't heed the low rating review! Just read it! Its a masterpiece!

Note: I actually think this should be 2.5* but the rating right now is way too inflated by thirsty fujoshis.

If you happen to be a fujoshi just looking for another BL to inhale the fluff out of, then go ahead, you'll probably enjoy this like all the other 5* ratings.

Otherwise, if you're looking for a BL with any sort of thought put behind it, then keep looking.

This is a novel that throws away all sense of logic, plot and meaning for quick snippets fluff. Yup one of those. If you've... more>> been reading this genre lately, you can probably already guess the MC and ml's traits and personality. MC is a meat head who can't think logically whenever a thing concerns the ML. The space time laws itself are bent by his logic and naivety. ML is a shameless possessive top who only has looks and his libido in mind.

The plot is also as plain as you can get. 30 year old MC goes back in time and instantly his personality becomes that of a 10 year old. He "coincidentally" meets the ML every 10 secs and ML just randomly likes him (or maybe its cuz of his looks). I'd like to think that this novel has some sort of theme, idea behind it, but thats clearly expecting too much.

I wish some serious yaoi writers existed rather than just the community of fujoshis who can only ever write from the shou/uke perpective. <<less

Edit: 02/10/2020 (3 stars before edit)

I read this last year up until c35 and drooped it in frustration because the ML frustrated me, but I think a huge part of it had to do with the chapter numbering. The translator divides chapters in several parts but numbers it according to releases so reading "several" chapters makes you think so much time has passed in the story, which isn't really the case. After giving this a second chance, I realized this really deserves the high ratings. You just really need... more>> to push through 40 chapters and the quality and pacing really improves a lot.

In hindsight, the seemingly disagreeable personality of the ML in the beginning actually makes the story much sweeter and satisfying. The ML was such a brat in the beginning, because he was tired of putting up the perfect ML part. His meeting with MC was such a random yet meaningful encounter which actually allows him to loosen up.

In other words, this is an ML who finally, after years of pretension, in the perfect timing of vulnerability, found someone who he was willing to act imperfect towards. He becomes lame and childish and unafraid of mistakes because MC is someone who unlike his family and colleagues, he fealt at ease with.

Because of this, the dynamics of their relationship is also very different from the norm. MC is ML's lucky star, he is basically the golden thigh lol. MC is what allows him to reverse his fortune and fate. In simplest terms, MC is the Little Sugar Daddy lolol. MC provides the house and ML cooks and is the perfect househusband xD. And what makes this even more complex is that even in the first timeline and the brief meeting they had before ML's death, MC has always been his lucky star. In the first timeline, MC actually dies from the initial slow-acting poison attempt for ML because they switched drinks. MC's photograph also lead to the fall of all of ML's enemies and brought justice to his death.

The extra at the end manages to tie these timelines together and made such a beautiful end to the story.

The romance is also straight-forward. When MC realizes he is attracted to ML, everything becomes a quick work. He faces it without shame and puts trust in the ML's character and their friendship.

The side characters are also a treat lol, especially the dormmates and celebrity characters.

It's a gruelling beginning, and the translator sometimes makes typos and switches names, but I think this is definitely a great read. <<less

TWO MAJOR THINGS I WANT FIXED:

    1. The problem of Flying Lines incorrectly cutting chapters, which, I suppose, is their kink, and the second one is constant grammar and translation errors throughout the translation, that could have been fixed with simple editing, but I guess no one gave a damn. It totally got to me the laziness of typing full names and instead using simple 'He' or 'Di', and also mixing up names at times. It can spoil the effect from reading tbh.
    1. Introduction in some novels to the term... more>> of PANSEXUALITY. It's really easy to put that in, because both of them like each other simply because it can be only He Bai for Di Qiuhe and vice versa, not because both are men, they like each other because for them there is no one else in whole world and it's not a matter of gender.
In general this novel is pretty good. From all the novels from this author this novel is really on a lighter side and although there is emotional drama, which keeps things more interesting, the taste of this novel isn't as spicy and is not filled with any traumatic experiences and sharp knives that will leave you wounded. Which isn't a bad thing, the reading process is really easy and some events or things that happen can make you feel emotional at times. There is also a lot of humorous and ridiculous situations that might either make you laugh or leave a bit frustrated, but in general tones the dramatic side of this novel down and you kind of feel flirty when reading.

What will wait for you here:

    • Definitely change in things that happen, change of MCs prospects of life, him wanting to change MLs fate, which leads to their entanglement.
    • Slow burn from strangers to friends to lovers. Mutual care. Waking up to feelings comes slowly and naturally. There are many great moments about their relationship and what they talk about (when they're being serious :)).
    • Pretty easy storyline with a bit of family drama and some twists along the way that at least I haven't expected. Basically modern drama about upcoming male movie actor and a quickly developing photographer.
    • Interesting secondary characters that add to the picture.
I really like this author and their works, thus I have positive impression of their works, since I may be biased. But despite that I think it's a good read. <<less

Reading every update has been such a chore, I was forcing myself to skim just to be done with the story sooner. Unfortunately, I'll be dropping this before I can finish.

It starts with an intriguing premise but ends up being a very middling story that tries to be more than it actually is. Definitely lost its grounding along the way when you consider how increasingly absurd the family drama is, as well as how conveniently the plot paves the way for the leads' success.

Their "romance" revolves around immaturity and irresponsibility... more>> which makes their relationship by far more irritating than cute:

Spoiler

They constantly bicker like children, purposefully turn off their phones or hang up on each other, will (want to) drop their duties and responsibilities to supposedly display how selfless they are in caring for the other party.

DQH is especially guilty of being emotionally manipulative and deceptive, but HB doesn't respond even remotely to DQH's childishness like an adult in his 20s, let alone the 30 year old he's supposed to mentally be. Especially after having lived through young adulthood once!

I don't know, from the author's writing I just get the impression that I'm reading about 2 teens playing house in grown-up shoes. DQH doesn't seem to carry any professionalism as an actor as he goes around and "sneaks" off a lot but somehow rarely gets noticed (or acknowledged for it). HB doesn't act like he's 30 and his photography skills are apparently so innately awesome he can cross industries and styles purely through solo field practice (for like 1 or 2 chapters) and a few hours of post-processing.

[collapse]

So yeah, don't let the premise bait you into thinking it's an emotionally sweet story when it's just a running commentary of 2 kids bantering. <<less

this was a slower burn romance than many of the stories I've been reading lately and its mostly slice of life with some mystery and family politics thrown in. The MC is different in that he was happy in his life and didn't have the usual regrets and betrayal but got dragged into rebirth anyways. He decides right away that he wont "steal other peoples luck" so he doesn't use any of his foreknowledge to cheat (i admit would totally cheat if it were me in that situation). The author... more>> knows very little about photography and even less about the entertainment scene, but it does't matter.
Spoiler

she writes about the MCs mindset and obsession with photography rather than anything technical. I also don't understand him being a journalism major when all his classes are about taking pictures. Shouldn't he be a fine arts major with a focus on photography? He never seems interested in being a journalist, all his focus is on landscape and people, not news or stories.

[collapse]

the two don't fall madly in love at first sight and in fact start off by rubbing each other the wrong way and pissing one another off unintentionally. I like that the ML decides early on (after the fake account is found out) to be honest with the MC and that includes show him his worst sides (often childish and temperamental). At first the MC seems to hate him but the hate moves to tolerance, than to friendship, and finally to love; it's an interesting process to watch, though I did wish the MC was a little less clueless about his own feelings. one thing I didn't like is that the ML's family situation is overly complicated and melodramatic enough to make me roll my eyes. Scheming and back stabbing abound. Makes me nostalgic for books like You Boys Play Games which has almost zero drama and wangst in it. This would have been an easier story to read (and enjoy) without all the family crap dragging it out forever. The interactions between the ML and MC are great and their growth is interesting to watch but because of the family stuff I would say that over all this story is good but not great. <<less

Is this bad? Not necessarily. Is the rating inflated? Definitely. 4.6-4.7 is way too high when you compare this to other works rated this high.

I saw that this had relatively fast updates so I decided to wait until it was done being translated to binge read this. Except, turns out the chapters were being split up into multiple pieces so "Chapter 113" is nowhere near the end of the novel. Okay. I'm peeved.

The concept of this is unique, I'll give it that. But when you read a novel, you'd at... more>> least expect to like the main characters. Not these ones, they're dumb. MC is technically 30 but acts like he's half of that. A literal child. ML is an ass and treats everyone like crap. He goes behind people's backs and does things without considering the consequences and repeatedly makes MC mad/sad. Then MC blacklists him and ML whines and gets forgiven after a few days. Cycle repeats. That's what their relationship is still at for so many chapters.

Another aspect, MC is photographer. As someone who has barely any knowledge of photography, I can clearly see the author has zero knowledge of photography. It's all made up. Think how sports in sports animes are shown compared to the actual sport but this does it worse.

I could go on for a while but I'd probably bore people.

This can be considered about average or a bit above when it comes to all BL novels. It gets somewhat infuriating though. NU's rating for this should be at ~4.2. The quality of this fits with other novels around there.

Bonus:

Spoiler

Quote by ML: I'm a cute girl with a huge dick.

Get kinda tired reading this. Hate the ML. The only reason this far I read is for the MC and the photography theme going around.

Spoiler

ML was childish and not in the pleasant or cute way. He was pushy and all I could see was him forcing MC to accept him and all his "troubles" (some existent and some non-existent). He deceived MC by using fake account to interact with him and get mad when MC didn't replied to him for 5 minutes while he ignored MC texts and calls for days without explanation.

And the peak of it all (so far, I wouldn't be surprised if his childishness would be grow exponentially later) was when he went to the MC dorm, knowing he was sick, and made MC cook for him, clean the bed for him, and prepare for his stay in MC dorm, in the pretext of accompanying MC while he was sick... Like?!?! How utterly selfish that is? MC from the start is fixed on having a good life without even knowing ML, ML was more like a baggage for him emotionally honestly. I don't think realistically they could have a healthy relationship considering ML character & behavior.

I get it, ML has a bad life, a bad family, a bad past, etc. Still it wasn't an excuse to pour all your emotional baggage to one person by using 2 different account and threatening them with s*icide (and he used it like a joke, wtf) so they will do everything you want. Especially with MC status at this point of the story, as ML's NOTHING, like at best they are acquaintance or friends.

Disgusted with ML, hoping for a much better second male lead that could save this story.

[collapse]

Gonna continue, hopefully there will be character growth on ML. Disgusted with the ML honestly, but I'm too invested with the MC. <<less

I completely disagree with some of the reviews regarding 'straight up fvcking emotional manipulation'... uhm how do I say this.. Our MC is aware that our ML is acting pitiful, again I repeat, he's totally aware. So acting pitiful and spoiled isn't really considered as an extreme emotional manipulation, I mean who hasn't acted spoiled in some ways or another? Technically, acting spoilt can be considered as emotional manipulation, but c'mon, our ML is not bad. He's very sweet and lovely and cute and just perfect for our equally sweet... more>> and lovely and cute MC. There's nothing wrong with ML, don't be so dang sensitive.

Skipping through that, honestly I stirred clear from this novel for months since I started reading this because I thought it would be so melodramatic and angsty and because of the 'straight up fvcking emotional manipulation' issue. But I braved through my fear - I was afraid to be disappointed of the novel - and actually read it. And now I regret nothing. The only thing I regret is that, this novel is toooo short for meee!! why can't there be moreeee??? *wipes my tears*....

I rate it 5 stars, must read, highly recommended <<less

What to like about this novel:

Characters:

  • MC is hardworking and strives for success by his own abilities. He doesn't grab onto a golden thigh or steal other's opportunities.
  • MC is not portrayed too femininely. He is just that cute college guy you see walking by that always seems to be followed by sunshine anywhere he goes and exudes that refreshing scent.
  • ML is smart and cunning. But at the same time a puppy. He's the real puppy, not pup-arazzi. Yes, a two-face.
  • ML is a very sweet child. Yes, child. But only towards his love.
  • MC and ML's bonds with their friends are tight. Fun, reliable on needed times, and loyal. Your typical friendship you'd grow old with.
  • As for the villains, they aren't effin stoopid. Except the Qin daughter (Chunhua?). They're scheming sly foxes.
Story:

  • The way their relationship progresses is done very well. So far; Acquaintances, to friends, to close friends. You'll see step by step how they get attracted to each other and how they'll realise their feelings.
  • The feelings you'll get as you read is; sweet, fluffy, ray of sunshine, relatable, funny. Definitely not boring.

So good, I def recommend it.

The MC is not super shameless and plagiarizing. He won’t steal opportunities which is refreshing. He has good comradeship with his friends.

The ML is really funny and two-faced without being overbearing or shameless. Its hard to describe the ML, but I can say he’s my favorite ML and I’ve read QWtFotD transltd by Kez-sama, HowtDieaHeavyaMountTai, Let me shoulder this Blame, NeedtoProposetoSevenMen, etc.

It's a little hard to continue reading when the MC and the ML is rather unlikeable. The MC is somewhat unnatural naive and ignorant of the world despite being reincarnated after dying as a 31 yr old. His innocent personality just doesn't correspond with someone who supposedly has lived in the adult society for quite a few years.
Then there's the ML who has a personality that no one in their right mind would ever fall in love with. He's a bully and gets pleasure from leading the MC around by the nose and to get the MC's attention, the ML, like a child craving attention by going through the wrong methods, does a lot of annoying things. That being said, it makes sense since he's craving for love (though he doesn't realise it yet), but it's just so.... childish that it aggravates me.

I'll continue reading for now, but both characters need some character growth asap and the novel needs some story development instead of going constantly back to the shou getting bullied by the gong.

The novel is a fluffy slice of life piece that tastes sweeter than a Starbuck frappucino. The story is told mostly through the perspective of both the MC and ML and gives equal focuses on each of their professional & personal lives. They start off pretty much in love with each other, so it's mostly just heartwarming romance.

I enjoyed the focus on their professions and their time apart from each other. It makes the world richer and more well-rounded. However, the author seems to have a lack of... more>> understanding of both photography and entertainment. Some of the descriptions seem unrealistic at times, but understandable since it's a light novel.

The characters themselves are not super well written, but still adorable. The MC is a stereotypical BL MC. Similar to other novels, the MC can be a bit of a princess at times and get mad beyond what is necessary. The ML loses 70 IQ points when it comes to the MC. He's supposedly making all kinds of grand schemes against his evil step-mother, but also blows up MC's phone everyday and acts like a man child when MC is around.

If you don't take things to seriously, it's a fun novel - would recommend. <<less

I honestly don't get why people who read this novel says it's tr*sh. And to think they even haven't completed it yet and is still in the early chapters to boot.

ABOUT THE PLOT

The plot is interesting if you're into fluff and friends to lovers genre. It's the typical rebirth/regression story of an MC but this time, this MC has no clue at all on why he was sent back in time considering that he was pretty content with his current life. For a short story, the pacing is actually... more>> great; not hurried or prolonged at all.

ABOUT THE MC

The MC is mature about his views on himself, on the people around him, and on his feelings. Sure, the plot of an MC going back in time might be overused but the regression in this story actually makes sense with the title as it is. The MC has no clue why he went back in time at all. He even said that he didn't have any regrets or what ifs but he was happy with his previous life and that he only wished he could have seen or photographed more sceneries before he died. And what's more is, he didn't just easily accepted that he went back in time but had to absorb that information for a week-- which is realistic considering how he was pretty content with his previous life as it is. But overtime, he got over with it. What's fun with this MC is that he doesn't take advantage of all the knowledge he has of the future to his benefit (he believes in karma). He knew his capabilities well and knew he would be able to stand at the top with his hard work and talent so he went on the learning route. He literally did things or took up jobs where he can learn of either theoretical knowledge or hands-on knowledge about photography. Our MC is obsessed with photography; that was established pretty early in the novel.

Now, people might ask why he took up journalism if he were so obsessed with photography. Shouldn't he be taking up Fine Arts majoring in Photography? Well, it was also established in the earlier parts of the novel that the reason he took up Journalism was because of a scholarship he got and that he wanted to take the path his parents did when they were still alive. But over the course of years, he became addicted to photography in his last life. So, in this life (the life where he regressed), he wanted to solely focus on photography. And if we're going by the logic of the novel, it was slightly talked about that our MC got the scholarship through hard work so, changing courses is out of the question now, isn't it? So, here's your answer.

Now, people have been saying the MC is naive and childish together with the ML. It's kind of funny how they perceive the MC so simply. The MC literally have the vibes and aura of a boy-next-door kind of boy. He honestly wants to live an honest and peaceful life. So, when he encountered the ML, he just want to help him avoid disasters by "fortune telling" the ML's fate and after that go on their own ways. They didn't even know each other; practically strangers. He definitely didn't want to be more than associated with someone he's not even familiar with to begin with. But something in him, either in pity or sympathy, wants to help, even just a little bit, the ML. But as fate have it, they always have chance encounters with each other.

When the comments say that the MC was childish, it really raised my eyebrow. Where and when was he childish? When the ML became "childish" (quote on quote with childish as I will be explaining on that later) in front of MC, he tolerated him and played with the ML. However, it's different when he's at work or in front of other people. He is a professional at work, just a normal guy who banters with their friends when not at work, and is a respectful child in front of the elders. The only times his childishness comes out is when he's with the ML. And it only comes out because he feels comfortable enough with the ML to be childish and let loose. It's like having your close friends or your partner with you; you become childish and spoiled when you're with them (if not, then you must be the person who spoils others or you're just not close with the people around you). Our MC even bought a house with his own money and asked the ML's preferences when it comes to the designs in a house. Like, have you read an uke doing that for their ML?? If that's childish to you then I don't know what maturity is in your mind.

Also, naive? The MC is not naive, not even the slightest. As I've said, MC doesn't want to blow things out of proportion and wants to live an honest and peacful life. He forgives where it's appropriate and fights back when it's necessary. When our MC knows it's not his fight, he wouldn't do anything to fight back but instead gives support to the ML or the people who are braving the fight. He's smart and knows how to treasure his life and time.

When the MC knew and realized that he fell in love with the ML, he didn't ran away but instead he fought on head on with his feelings and did some "experiments" to test whether he really loves our ML or if it was just a spur of the moment kind of thing; which is great as it shows how he takes into consideration his and the other person's feelings. In short, he doesn't take lightly of the situation of him being possibly in love with the ML. He knows that it'll be bad if he gives the ML mixed signals and he doesn't want to hurt the other person and be hurt too or be confused with all those foreign emotions that he's suddenly feeling. That's some real mature thing to do as a person. It shows that our MC handles emotions well and treasures it too.

So, I honestly don't get why the MC gets a lot of hate for being just an ordinary guy who has the boy-next-door vibes who is obsessed with photography and is in love with his partner.

ABOUT THE ML

The ML is honestly a breath of fresh air from all those obsessive, possessive, tactless, domineering, cold, and tsundere MLs. Sure, he's a possessive guy, but he's never done anything that attracts hate or even dislike. He curbs his possessiveness over MC and respects the boundaries the MC sets. He takes care of the MC and makes sure that he eats meals at least three times a day. He was even willing to stop having s*x with the MC if it means that the MC wouldn't get a fever after having s*x. He learned how to cook (he's a boy who grew up with a golden spoon, mind you) just for the MC! He even became good friends with the MC's roommates and became close with his grandpa because the MC wished so. That one chapter where he purposely annoyed the MC (the MC was stressed and overworked) just to celebrate the MC's birthday because the MC forgot about it was just a chef's kiss. I mean, the guy is just a walking GREEN FLAG 🟢, what more could you guys ask?

If people are gonna say about how ML is "childish", well guess what, it's because he's comfortable around MC. Was it stated that he was childish and an annoyance to the people he works with? No. He is a mature man who knows what to do and what not to do if he's not in front of the MC. He's a responsible grown-up who life did not treat so well.

Also, there's a fine line between childish, spoiled, and an emotional manipulative bastard. It was mentioned several times that the MC spoils our ML and vice versa. They are spoiled with each other. It was with each other's consent. Meaning, they can be as childish as they want in front of each other and no one would bat an eye on it. They love bantering with each other and they love how they make up afterwards. How dare people say our ML is an emotional manipulative bastard??? Honestly, who didn't act spoiled at one point in their lives? Who didn't act childish in front of their peers, family, or partner at one point? Really? A manipulative bastard of all things?? He didn't do sh*t to manipulate our MC. If he did, he would've manipulated our MC to be sticky with him or he could manipulate the MC to be with him all the d*mn time when he was filming but no. He didn't do any of that. He even respected our MC's wishes to go back to his dorm to live there. So, I don't even know WHERE you got that aspect from.

And personally, I think the ML has every right to be spoiled in front of his partner. Why? He's been deprived of love since he was a kid and had always kept up pretenses and wore masks to survive from his family. The MC is like his air and freedom (and golden thigh) so, he relaxes around the MC and wants to be spoiled and loved by the MC. And I think that's wholly understandable.

And have you even read the part where he realized he was in love with the MC?? He was so gentle and so sweet that it made my heart melt and squeal so much!! He's such a keeper!

So, why would anyone give hate on ML? He's like a fresh of breath air from those stereotypical MLs and is a nice take on a person who loves wholeheartedly. People who says so otherwise are either blind or nuts.

ABOUT THE TRANSLATION

Honestly, the translation was horrible. But still, kudos to the translator for translating such an amazing piece of work. However, I hope they could've edited and cleaned up the chapters so that it would atleast be readable to some who can't read (or is new) unedited works. It was such a feat to even read a whole chapter without wrecking your brain for it. Another thing that made me uncomfortable with reading this novel was that the chapters were cut into several chapters making it seem longer than necessary. The story is short, that I'm sure of. But with how the translator cut the chapters into pieces, made me so annoyed to no end. Please please please, if you ever take up another project, do edit and clean it. It would attract more readers if you guys could give a wonderful translation. Plus, it could give the story's point across the readers as well.

CONCLUSION

THE STORY IS GREAT FOR A SHORT READ. DON'T LISTEN TO THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS, THEY DON'T KNOW SH*T. TRY READING IT PAST A HUNDRED CHAPTERS AND I ASSURE YOU, YOU'LL START UNDERSTANDING UNEDITED WORKS. HAVE FUN AND DON'T GET INFLUENCED BY SH*T TAKERS! <<less

Random note: the translation quality of Flying Lines novels seem to have a tendency to be a little sketchy. Typos are generally kept to a minimum, but grammatical errors are littered everywhere, and some sentences barely make sense. I feel like if it wasn’t for the story being as good as it is and my habit of finishing everything I read, I would have dropped this novel out of irritation.

As someone who has translated novels and edits as well, I understand how hard a translator has to work. However, I... more>> am a bit disappointed by the continuously poor quality of Flying Lines novels. Although this is already the second novel that I’m finding errors in, I hoping that this translation group has some better translations or can find editors for their translators. Like I said, translation is hard work, and these translators deserve better. <<less

Anyone who has given this masterpiece a rating below 4 stars is nuts.

It's one of the best BLs I've ever read and I haven't found anything like it. The slow romance is so damn worth it as both the leads go from being strangers to friends to lovers. It's beautiful. The progression of their affection is slow and steady and logical, it's everything I can ask for.

The mystery surrounding the ML's life is intriguing and as both of them solve with the help of all the damn well developed side... more>> characters is amazing. I loved it. Loved it.

This novel didn't strike any of my pet peeves, no yandere, no r*pe, no abrupt love at first sight, no "ML is better at every single thing than the MC", no s*upid/naive/low IQ MC, no cold/aloof ML. The MC is good at his job and the ML is good at his own, both of them are experts at their own fields, not omnipotent and I loved that. ML's character is like a hedgehog, cute and lovely as hell when someone is past the shell he built up to protect himself. The MC is awesome as well.

I have finished this masterpiece and cried like a baby at the end. The ending was so good I genuinely, seriously, honestly cried. So f*cking good, damn. <<less
