Cui Ti is a blind woman who has grown up with the constant mistreatment and belittlement from her parents and servants. They take pleasure in laughing at her expense.

However, her life takes a sudden and unexpected turn when she is welcomed into the Pei family by the most glorious son, Pei Xuan, carried in a palanquin. Despite her confusion on why Pei Xuan would want to marry her, as it couldn’t be love at first sight, she is grateful for the respect and kindness he shows her.

Not only did Pei Xuan give her respect as a human, but he also held and protected her. He would support her in time before she fell, and patiently removed small fishbones for her. He would hug her, kiss her occasionally, and never scold her.

As a blind person, there is only so much you can do.

So after getting married, she lets go of her restraint and thought about raising children for Pei Xuan to repay his kindness.

But Pei Xuan refused to consummate their marriage.

Minutes later, she was being pushed into the lotus pond as she thought: ‘Forget it, he pities me and cherishes me, but it is not love’.

Opening her eyes, Cui Ti went back three years ago.

In her new life, during her wedding night, she accidentally touched the candles, and made a pained groaned as Pei Xuan came out of the tub in a panic after hearing the sound.

Seeing the waterfall-like long hair of her “Good Husband” and the graceful and hot body that cannot be concealed by his snow-white underwear, Cui Ti trembled physically and mentally, blushed and felt hot, and soon realized…

One great thing I can say about it is that there's a lot of yuri action in this one. I'm glad because the couple has good chemistry and it makes me want to read more about them.

Spoiler

At the same time, I think Pei Xuan fell for Cui Ti too fast to the point someone might cry witchcraft. Normally I wouldn't complain (because who hasn't read enough Chinese slowburns to last a lifetime) but the fast pacing made the FL sound obsessed or crazy. For me, at least. Pei Xuan met Cui Ti about twice max, barely learned anything about her and her character, and was ready to throw away everything, her family, their reputation, their money, and her life, just for MC. She was even on great terms with her family and she's willing to go this far for an abused stranger? How god-like is the MC's face for this to happen?

I also think that the author isn't that great with writing a blind person. Don't get me wrong, I don't have experience being blind but if you're not able to see from birth, would you really depend on people's facial expressions to interact with them?

Cui Ti would be described to do things like this all the time. Like using eye to eye contact or recognizing the emotion on Pei Xuan's face. From what I read, she's timid and the only interactions she's had were with her low-born servant for most of her life.

How exactly would she have learned eye contact when her family neglected even educating her? How would she have recognized facial queues when there was no mention of having touched somebody else's face and she could only see for the first time in her life? If there are answers to these questions, it wasn't provided in the story.

It also grates me when its mentioned that she couldn't even dress or eat by herself because she's blind. How weak do they think blind people are that MC can't even dress or eat by herself? Peeling shrimp is hard? Its finger food! Blind people see with their hands! How would she have a hard time with that? Am I just uncultured? Do the Chinese all use chopsticks to peel shrimp? Is that it?
