This may not be my general cup of tea, but someone needs to start with the reviews. And it seems it shall be me.

Only 12 chapters have been translated until now, thus the review will only cover these 12 chapters. So what to expect from this novel? For one, it is quite charming.

¤ Amusing, quick-witted and temperamental transmigrated heroine.

... more>> ¤ Close-knit, albeit humble, family that will warm the coldest of hearts.

¤ Rapacious extended family to be defeated (successfully so!).

¤ Lessons taught the right way. Very slice-of-life.

¤ Child games, loving siblings, bickering and reconciliation.

¤ The translation is not perfect. LIKE ANY HOBBYIST TRANSLATION. However, it will in no way make this a difficult read. The read is smooth and the mistakes are easily ignored, not to be remembered.

Spoiler

The reader follows the life of a young woman transmigrated into a newborn baby's body. The tragedy is that the child has been abandoned by her biological parents a few instants before this young woman transmigrated into its body. Happily however, a kind, sympathetic man was passing by and had no choice but to pick up the baby and bring it along with him. With this, she gained a barely-older sister, an older brother and a reluctant mother, who at first resists the idea of feeding a little stranger but soon enough falls in love with our FL's personality, which is so much like her adoptive mother's that one wonders whether they are not related.

The FL goes from baby to toddler and leads us through her everyday life. Though her adoptive parents are humble people, they are simple, good and albeit they face their own hardships, have found a way to raise a young, brilliant uncle (the adoptive mother's younger brother) though his stepmother is a greedy, cruel woman, to get their own son through school, adopt a little stranger (the FL) and teach both their daughters (biological and adoptive) to be good, hardworking girls.

The FL is a grown woman in a toddler's body, thus her silent remarks on the world that surrounds her are humorous, accurate and will make you laugh out loud more than once. But, at times, the toddler in her takes over and she cannot conceal her enthusiasm at experiencing the simplest of joys. She will love having her parents take her to the market or going to fish with her elder brother and father. She will bully back bullies, cry when she has her cheeks pinched and express joy at seeing her family.

[collapse]

According to me, for the genre, this is a 5/5. Heart-warming, funny with the right amount of simple, everyday drama. Lovely, as simple as that. <<less

I'm just starting but bro bruh the heck you feed a 2 months old baby honey water / rice soup😰 ancient times or not, transmigration or not if that's real life then the baby probably gonna die soon😫. The baby should be at least the youngest is 5 months old, historically even when there's no human milk - wet nurse, they try fed their baby with animals milk, later after the baby grow 6 months up then they could be feed with another include water, that's why babies in ancient... more>> times have high mortality 🙁. Anyway just info babies younger than 1 year old should not be given honey ☠

Instead of honey water in my island traditionally from old times babies 5mo up drinking palm-brown (palm, coconut etc) sugar water, from the liquid palm sugar, solid palm sugar mix with water / powder palm sugar. Aside from that there're rice water-grain soup/fine porridge, sweet potatoes, steamed egg water etc when the baby is 6/7 months old & if the mother lacking milk usually they searching for someone else as wet nurse. Nowadays with information everywhere things that are good still in practice & others that are not good was abandoned. <<less

From the first 18 chapters, what I can say is so far, the story seems pretty good and I’m excited to read more.

As someone who was adopted, I’m happy to see a story of a realistic and happy family for the MC, even if they aren’t blood related. It made it very realistic to me that despite the troubles in the beginning, both MC and her family have grown to love and rely on each other. The story so far seems pretty relaxed and not too rushed, and as someone... more>> else already said the translation quality is also pretty good.

Spoiler

Like a lot of other similar novels, there are less than desirable extended family members, however what was surprising to me was that the MC’s uncle (foster mother’s brother) was actually so dislikable. I think that’s my personal opinion because I don’t think that he’s actually an enemy but the way he goes about things isn’t right. For example when his sister is already paying all his school fees and lets him take shelter at her house from the nasty step mom, he still hasn’t managed to pay her back for all that, and yet when a new issue arrives his first thought is to have his sister support him again instead of figuring it out on his own. And then when the sister (MC’s foster mom) is UNDERSTANDABLY upset he tries to guilt her with the whole “since it was you I thought you’d understand, I guess I was wrong.” And in the end she still not only helped him out physically but was made to pay for even more expenses towards the nasty step mother. Because of that I just really dislike this character, though it’s clear he doesn’t have bad intentions (kinda even more frustrating bc he’s adding on more trouble and you can’t hate him for it bc he has good intentions) Ugh. Just needed to rant about that

[collapse]

Anyways, because there’s only 18 chapters so far, the MC is still a child but I look forward to watching her grow as the story progresses! I also like that she doesn’t force herself to act like a real adult (though her soul is one). She wants to enjoy these simple things in life and the new experiences she never got the chance to have in her old life. I like that she indulges her curiosity and doesn’t act like “this sort of thing is beneath me bc really I’m an adult inside.” She lets herself play and have fun and so far the adventures with her family are really sweet.

5/5 can’t wait to read more <<less

Brilliant.

If you like novels like Field of Gold, this is a must-read.

So far (ch53) it has all of:

  • FL transmigration as a baby
  • No super powers/dimensions/knowledge or any other cheat
  • FL has a childish temperament with no great ambition (not s*upid, just want a simple and happy life)
  • Good family
  • A bit of karma (no harsh face slapping, no aggression - still good to read even if not as satisfying as severe face slapping)
A fair warning - this is a slice of life. By ch 53 FL is only 10yrs old.

No real ML yet (would be good if it is him, but naaah I don't believe it will be him). <<less

This is a pretty lighthearted novel. The MC is outgoing and sometimes shameless but she’s always entertaining. So far at chapter 76 she’s 12 years old but her entire life she makes sure she’ll never be on the losing end of an argument. Although there are a few instances of face slapping, it’s not over exaggerated. A lot of the story so far is just about her experiences growing up. I definitely would recommend this novel to anyone who wants to enjoy a pleasant story.

So I mtl-ed, enjoyed the story on till the last page were I felt rushed... like I felt the book needed more pages... The MC and ML’s wedding was just a line, the victory at the end was only in a sentence.. If the ending was elaborated more and given its well deserved finishing I would give it a 4.5...

I love the daily life, and warm family feelings in the Lu house. Things may change as the plot develops, but I'm so happy reading this story. I am laughing at the wonderful tricks Xiao Shu pys and gets away with because, outwardly, she is still so little.

I wonder if it's the thousands chapter type of story, they build really slow, so far the MC not even reach the age of 15, there is not even a glimpse of overall plot.

Well let's run it down a bit, I personally quite like this type of story, where the transmigration start from the baby stage. The whole family scene were nice and enjoyable while there is sometimes a feel of unrealistic situation but well I still find it not that bad.

However the personality definitely not on my liking, so... more>> far there is no development, Idk how the system works but she literally life two life, even if she was transmigrated on her teen but with the add of her current life I kinda expect more. She is smart and able to solve many problem but back again sometimes I find it unrealistic.

Perhaps is it because she was born again as a baby so somehow her brain also couldn't match her current way of thinking so the childish behavior are born, nonetheless her ignorant on many things and her temper also could be explained this way.

So far it is really good but with all of the drag and slow build thing, I don't find myself wanting to read more. The time she was a baby definitely the most enjoyable one for me. I would rate this 4, as the writer write it well and lively so it's the translation. <<less

The book is okay. Although the main character's personality gets annoying after some time. I absolutely love the other characters in the book. It's the only reason I kept reading. The story line is cliched but it's a enjoyable causal read

Overall I feel this novel has very good pacing compared to other starting at birth transmigration novels. I only felt a bit slow around the seventies but it's started speeding up again.

MC is just a ball of mischief lol. I feel she is not very emotionally mature, but she was still a teen when she transmigrated and after being treated like a child for years it makes sense.

Still haven't heard from her parents so we'll see how that goes. Realistically she never would, but it's a novel so 100% you... more>> will.

Romance is mostly young boys infatuated and the girls being either disgusted or oblivious haha. Family relationships are interesting! <<less

This novel is slice of life through and through. I found it cute but a bit boring. Not quite suitable for my current mood, but maybe I’ll come back to read it again one day.

__________

SUMMARY: The FL is not your typical transmigrator, she has a wild and free kind of personality. Her first life was spent as a wealthy young lady from modern times, so when it comes to making profit and stuff, she’s completely clueless. She’s the type to dislike learning and favor martial arts. Originally, she was reborn... more>> in the body of a newborn baby girl from a wealthy family. However, her biological parents had ran into trouble and were forced to run away. Unwilling to bring her along to suffer through potential misfortune, they left her to a kind, middle-class family from a rural village. Her new parents loved and cared for her, and the first arc of the story focuses on her growing up under their protection. As for the rest, I didn’t get that far LOLOL.

__________

THOUGHTS: All in all, it’s not bad. It’s just a bit slow. I think if you enjoy slice of life, you would find the story more enjoyable than I did. But even up to when I stopped reading, no major turning points had happened. At least, it felt that way, since the turning points were aimed at the FL’s family rather than herself — she was just too passive because of her age and carefree personality (even when she did things, it was just small petty things that she had little stake in). In this way, she didn’t really feel much like a main character, which led me to not care about what was happening. Of course, this doesn’t mean that the story is bad. I could see that trouble was shaking up soon. Maybe in the next chapters things would have turned more interesting, but I lost interest in it by the time. <<less

Initially it was a 3 but after completing it it's only worth at most a 2.5 I kinda want to give this a 2.25 though.

I have to say this novel have one of the most unlikable FL I find. She is dumb, brash, impulsive, overconfident. It seems she never learns from her mistakes. The story is also weirdly developing... like the way plots happen is very random.I'm at chapter 305 and I am debating finishing the novel. I am giving it a 3 because some of the plots are actually... more>> interesting and I like the family love setting.

honestly felt like I wasted my time reading this. The ending of the novel like many of the plots is random. From beginning to end the FL never grew or developed. She stayed dumb brash impulsive and overconfident till the end. Not worth it. Skip if you can. <<less

It started nice, funny and come on, I've read upstairs about the story being unrealistic as how a baby or 2 yr old kid can do as much, but hey, did you forget that the while story, starting with a transmigration is already unrealistic so why look for logic here.

It was nice to read somehow, the MC was deemed smart but most of the time s*upid. Knows martial arts but got knocked out by being hit on her nape twice, falling to schemes and always needed to be saved.

Well, 500sh... more>> chapter, just read it for a pass, dont expect too much as this was not written by authors known for good plot. There's plot yeah, it could have been written better that it was, it was just somehow lacking to some point. <<less
