Novel not recommended to read.

MC is the not so bright Chu Yuan. He gets a system to make his disciples useless but comedically they all become invincible existences.

This is funny for a bit but absolutely falls apart after MC accepts a panda as a disciple. After that, author has MC ascend and become Heavenly Dao itself, divide himself into 3, and just mess around. Gone is any amusing part to the story and instead we just get author making fun of the 2nd disciple and praising how great 1rst disciple... more>> is. Author gives up on writing the other disciples for the most part and just has MC meander around. Basically by chapter 900 author has successfully ruined their own story and make the MC a genocidal lazy villain who creates calamities to upgrade his world and pursues cultivation (which was the opposite of earlier on where MC was a guy messing around to ruin his disciples since his cultivation level would drop every time they cultivated well, but hilariously MC was actually growing stronger without knowing it).

Author didn’t know what to write anymore so added dumb additions of Nuwa, Sanqing, etc basically the journey to the west and had some more random nonsense occur so MC owns the world. There’s zero incentive to read on and nothing of value left to be had. -900Hextillion/10 A sloppy mess of a novel.

P.S. If you become a Chinese system user and cultivate to perfection eventually you become a huge scumbag who feels nothing for sentient life like in this novel. Writing good protagonists is hard, so just normally these stories just have the author hand wave all the bad stuff away or just not care about genocide. Really annoying to have the perfectly fine protagonist suddenly become a monster though. <<less

Fun misunderstanding comedy

That's all it is, if you want to have a lighthearted comedy about a shameless, selfish protagonist who's decisions always go wrong personally but better his reputation, this is it, it's simple and likeable, it'll get old pretty quickly but it's enjoyable nonetheless.

Truth be told, this story is really good at capturing my attention and trapping it. You don't expect OP MC since the start here, in fact, the MC sometimes felt like side character as the focus goes completely to his disciples. I have biases towards the eldest two disciples, they're my fav.

Also, abandon your 'morality' if you read this. The MC initially didn't care about any of his disciples, in fact, he tried to ruin them due to system's missions, however, either by a twist of fate or smth, he... more>> ALWAYS managed to produce top-rate talent. The MC sometimes has a very strange focus. He can be careless in 'nurturing' his disciples, but on the other hand, when it came to recruiting them, he was so paranoid and such a perfectionist, he wanted disciples who are completely impossible to be talented. Problem is EVERY human being in the world at least have 0.5% of being talented, he didn't want that and sought for people who are absolutely untalented... Turned out those people became MC template, I don't know how he never noticed this.

But I really love the plot. The familial feelings between disciples. The interaction between disciples. Their development. Everything. I love it. It's not a masterpiece per se, but it succeeds in keeping my attention for so, so, so long. <<less

MC with a parallel appearance and an unknown origin appeared in this world with a Yuanying cultivation, a sect establishment on top of a mountain and a system that urged him to teach wasted disciples. If his disciples became strong instead of a waste, his cultivation would drop. MC adopted the most wasted disciples who had no lingen and could not cultivation. However, the ancient secret is that the appearance of lingen in people hindered their cultivation and thus no one had soared for thousands of years. The novel does have a lot of shadowing on MC being a great power in the ancient time because his disciples could comprehend incredible heaven and earth powers behind the seemingly random things he said. In some way, this novel is a little similar to History's Number 1 Founder but the Founder novel is a little too traditional xianxia. <<less
