As a former top player, he would obviously fight to save the world… Yeah, no. Time to plan and prepare for the upcoming events, better to use that knowledge to get ahead rather than fight with gods.

Follow Marvin’s journey through this new world.

This is a pretty nice story compared to the others. In other stories, the main character usually relies on himself most of the time. This main character relies on either allies or business deals gathered from his previous life’s knowledge to get what he needs.

I know there’s other stories that does something similar, but they’re so pretentious about it. Like the author’s sucking the main character’s dick. Like every other character’s just there to boost the main character’s greatness.

What’s different about this one is that the characters, allies and enemies... more>> alike, are decently fleshed out imo. (Interests, Greed, distinct personalities)

Not that the author doesn’t have his MC glorifying moments, but it’s pretty well tamed. Like, it involves his companions or people, etc. without going like, “they are my life and I’ll protect them forever because they gave me a sandwich that one time”

This does leave the growth of his strength to be really slow while his OP friends handle the things he’s not able to. Honestly, with all the enemies getting stronger as his aspirations become bigger, it seems as if his own strength stays the same.

That’s fine though. He has some pretty reliable and OP friends/organizations members; leaders/ business partners he can rely on with the help of his previous knowledge, so it feels like he gets stronger by gathering more powerful companions to help him out/ making them stronger.

There was supposed to be this calamity mentioned in the beginning that was supposedly coming pretty soon but, after 227 chapters, it still hasn’t, so if you were expecting it soon... ya.....

This story is pretty slow if you haven’t figured it out. The events the MC plans/ is foreshadowed won’t come til a few chapters later because of some gains he sees along the way

I liked the story though, the author makes it work because the MC has more character and is relatable I think. Try it if you want m8 <<less

This book is one of the few books I have really liked.?

The concept is amazing and the pace of the chapters is also nice. ? The MC is not a cold hearted mindless killer. The story development is good and most importantly the world is beautifully developed.?

I would say that 'Night Ranger' and 'The Book Eating Magician' has slight similarities with regards the writing style. Those who give it a poor review have not read the tr*sh that is being translated every day.?

This work is refreshingly good and I highly recommend... more>> reading it for a Game with hack/slash/RPG kind of story. 4.5/5?? <<less

So far so good and it's pretty similar to "The Amber Sword" 'cause MC also played a game, was transported into it, well the important part was that there was time limit before the "calamity aka Game Time line starts". And with his in-game knowledge will let him to soar in this world.

Well the things that I liked on this novel was the detailed actions scene here, 'twas direct to the point and no flowery words was used, and the MC is not the usual "attack now, think later" type... more>> of Mc's, he usually think of every possible angles to every things that he would do and the likes <<less

The author gives no explanation or backstory for how the MC arrived in this world.

The stat system is unreliable and doesn't even adhere to it own guidelines from thr get-go.

Really feels like the author read The Legendary Mechanic and The Ember Sword and thought he could do better.

Weapons, items, and skills that are relevant to the current enemy are already in Marvin's (Martin? Ma Wen? Merlin? Mavin? The name changes a lot) possesion without us knowing.

It reads like the narrator blacks out every other day.

It's pretty meh.

I binged this novel in bout a week's worth of time, I can say without a doubt that this novel is 5 stars in my opinion because it really fits up my alleyway, to be honest I wasn't really expecting much when I first read the book. But the author proved me wrong time and time again.

Before you continue, do I recommend you giving the book a shot rather than reading reviews and deciding whether to read the book or not as everyone has different thoughts and opinions, what you... more>> like might not be what they like. So moving on,

Firstly, characters are pretty well developed, there is a reason why each characters behaves they way they are and when they change there is a reason as well. Some things I liked are the author never really abandons a character, even characters introduce at the start though they are weak and can't contribute to the MC anymore due to them being weak, the author still fits them in the story though at times it feels a bit forced but the intent is there. This intent of not abandoning characters after they outlived their use is one I appreciate. The characters are in one way interlinked to each other and discovering hidden relations between characters through the stories event was fun because it's like piecing together a puzzle. The development of relations between characters and their interactions felt interesting and fresh.

Secondly, world development, pretty standard for this type of genre, but the ending that revealed everything really helped blend the world together in a sense. Pretty interesting dynamic of devils and demons, separating hell, abyss and the underworld was a cool concept that I liked. Pretty interesting world I did say.

Lastly, story development, I did say it's not the worse or the best, it felt really fast paced and there was rarely any breaks and the risk and rewards just kept scaling non stop, overall the pacing was just too fast to my liking, But the ending was definitely one my favourites of all the endings I read before. It gives a sense of closure and yet it doesn't end the story something like leaving it on a new beginning I guess. I really appreciate stories like this where the ending is not the end but rather a start of a new adventure. The ending also left me with many bittersweet emotions but also hope that everything will work out and the MC will have his happy ending.

All in all, I really liked this novel. Though I would really like a few chapters with the happy ending after his adventure. On the last chapter the author mentioned something bout a new book, Magic Throne (temporary name), can't wait for it to be translated if it exists :,) but I will be waiting. <<less

Spoiler

I read 70 chapter, and just couldn't continues. Villain in this novel is extremely shallow, like they are so s*upid, always think that they can do whatever they what, think that begging after doing bad thing work, and they would do the worse thing just to make reader feel mad, but there are almost no purpose to do those thing to the extreme, and leave behind clue for MC but they never actually success in their plot at all.

In conclusion, Villain exist just for us to hate them, and for MC to kill them, no other purpose at all.

Spoiler

WARNING:Open ending, extreme rush at the ending

The bad parts:

    • Spoiler

The game system goes for broke as you go on, surpassing limits is easy af, nightwalker class becomes too op, the so called wizard age where wizards are op never manages to show even a single cool strong wizard throughout the novel, the so called gods get more pathetic the more you read, the 'strong gods' never get a chance to show their strength, especially after hyping them

      [collapse]
    • Extremely convenient stuff keep happening to MC.
    • A huge amount of plot armour for MC in dangerous fights
    • The rushing at the end of the novel leaves too many plotholes
    • MC strength increases exponentially towards the ending
    • The ppl are super s*upid that you wonder how they even determine intelligence there.
    • The romance is cut off even before it properly began
    • Spoiler

The reason MC transmigrates is total utter bullsh*t. Anything the author can't explain is just 'too profound for you to understand'

      [collapse]
    • Spoiler

Author loves to reuse enemy gods, either keep them out for good or drop clues they're coming back

      [collapse]
    • Spoiler

The story becomes more and more inconsisitent and random with things being squeezed in too much and all characters behaving absurdly
, specifically from the part where MC and one of the sisters of fate are ambushed underground from the frozen sleeping monster that was awoken by the zealot, it becomes more of a summary.

      [collapse]

The good part:

    • Nice DnD stuff
    • Superb plot for the world, would have been a hit if spread across at least 2 books
    • Spoiler

The nightwalkers stuff is really well made

      [collapse]
    • Spoiler

The various coincidences are amazing when they slowly stack and set MC on his path

      [collapse]
    • and most of all
      Spoiler

All the main characters who work with MC and their back stories are well made, tho not well detailed, be it the nightwalkers organization, the elf prince, the space beast

Decent start until midway, i'll give it 3 star if it always like that. But later on the author try to make too many twist that it makes no sense at all. So many bs, plot holes, inconsistency, and loose ends.

Also there are a few very strange things like, this is in a single chapter, the MC says he knows who the thief is and says there will be a good show tonight. But that night, there is nothing at all, no mention about the thief or anything. I've seen... more>> a shadowing that simply forgotten before, but it's just in a few paragraphs. I'm really curious of why is this, can it be the author forget what they wrote a few paragraphs ago? <<less

It was... a bit of a roller coaster near the end I think you could tell the author got tired storylines dropped a bit and the ending most people would find INCREDIBLY unsatisfying deserving atleast another chapter of fre before there could be a proper ending in my opinion but... I still don't regret the read it was a fun time while it lasted and if you don't like the lack of ending then honestly give yourself some head cannon it's not hard to write yourself an ending that'll satisfy... more>> you in your head. It's a shame that the ending makes me feel like only 9/10 at the start and drops down to like a 1-7 at the very ends depending on how much you're willing to forgive. I think people who hate this book for how the ending went especially because it was clearly rushed and unsatisfying is a fair judgement but I'd still give it a read. Personally I think unless the ending makes or breaks a book for you then it's still a worthwhile read that you shouldn't pass up on as there is a lot to fall in love with which is part of the reason why the ending probably hurt a few people quite a lot. TLDR: The ending was bad as many people state it is and if an ending makes it breaks it for you don't read it but if you want a good read and wanna change the ending a bit in your head to make it more satisfying I encourage you too it was a good read and personally I'm glad that I read it. <<less

MC was transmigrated into a game he played when he was back on earth right before a huge catastrophe. He embarks on a quest to strengthen himself using the knowledge of the game patches

PRO:

    • Story fully explain the reason why he was transmigrated and the backstory.
    • I am satisfied with the ending even if it was explain on one chapter.
    • Unlike other novel this MC isn't an encompassing master of all trades.
CON:

    • MC has a huge plot shield = knowing the secrets on an area and he was one of the top players in the game prior to transmigration but this lessen as the story progress.
    • It would have been better if the author add more chapters on the ending. Feels rushed.
    • Side Characters are there for convenience, there was no character he stuck till the end. Author still mention them from time to time.
    • The building his territory was just put on the sidelines.
    • Super Rushed - the whole novel timeline is just less than a year.
Overall I enjoyed this novel and can recommend it to burn time. The reason why I give it a 4 out of 5 because most of the novels I red, the ending is just terrible at least this one explains the reason why someone was transmigrated and the whole plot revolving it.

The series is completed, and the translation quality is excellent.

I enjoyed the first half of this novel for the most part. The MC levels up quickly, the action is exciting, and the setting is interesting. The suspense is good, but it is kinda ridiculous that the MC always has plot to shield him whenever he's in a crisis. He's never under any real danger, and he never loses anything especially important. Everything will work out for him no matter what. He also levels up so incredibly quickly that he only... more>> spends a few months to grow from nothing to an OP Legend character, which is something others in this universe spend a lifetime to do and still fail.

The MC begins killing people soon after he transmigrates into this world and does so without any hesitation or character development. He's supposed to be a professional gamer in his previous life, yet he has no hesitation when it comes to first-hand mu*der. Was the game previously some intense virtual reality game or what? Was he originally from a sci-fi universe? Did he have a family, lover, home of his own? No idea. This questions are never answered. Although the MC has the most depth out of everyone in the series, he's a very flat character who undergoes no development halfway through the series. The only change might be that he thinks he's slightly more careful, but he's still incredibly reckless and doesn't actually change his behaviors at all. All the other characters are extremely flat.

The story development has no idea what it's doing and does not appear to have been planned at all. Reading it, it feels like the author came up with all the plots on the fly. Plot holes are numerous, and the MC keeps forgetting to use his OP skills. By the way, his class hardly has any weaknesses, and he's an assassin, ranger, tamer, shape-shifter, sorcerer, etc. All in one. Is there any need to have any other characters with him around?

In spite of all these weaknesses, the action was fun enough up until about midway when the plot derailed pretty hard. Although I enjoyed it in the beginning, the quality has dropped substantially by the point chapters become premium, and I'm dropping the series. I may have continued to dawdle along if the chapters were still free, but I don't think they're worth paying for. <<less

Reading this, the momentum of this story is like, a ball you thrown vertically down, bounce only half of the momentum, stays there for few chapters, then stays down for mostly chapters after that. Then it bounces back half before stays down again.

So many women in here, I almost suspect this to be harem, but no. It only lightly low key harem.

For those who seeks no romance, would like this.

Personally I think that it's the romance that gets the story going. Oh well. Whatever.

Having read the entire story, I can say that the first ~500-600 chapters are definitely worth the read. It's a good lit rpg type story with a lot of inspiration/ content stolen from Dungeons and Dragons.

The ending is garbage however, literally the last 100 or so chapters were the author rushing to end the novel as quickly as possible. It should have had another 200-300 chapters to resolve, but the author wanted to start his next novel. He said as much in his afterword that he thought the ending was... more>> sh*t too, but did it anyway.

So if you don't mind a huge cop-out of an ending where absolutely nothing gets resolved, go for it.

I gave it 4 stars because, while it left a bad taste in my mouth for sure it did provide many hours of quality reading before the death spiral of an ending the author pulled out of his ass. <<less

It's a great novel!! The MC got transported to a game world/ that's actually a real world. He has a system that makes it easier for him to accumulate experience and get use to this new world. He has his knowledge of future events when he was playing the game, but that does not help him much because there are no other players that come to this world. He has information about specific places, people, gods, and some artifacts.

Without doudt it is one of the best novel out there except the ending or the last 50-30 chapters.

Except the last volume, the MC has more or less used his previously acquired knowledge in the game on his timeline. That's why most of the time he has got a chance to plan ahead of his enemy. Even though for his interference (according to mc) lots of future events are starting to appear ahead of time and also there are lots of change in the power /death of powerful chars, so... more>> his game knowledge is not ultimate cheat or his power, he has always kept improving himself with important side chars.

For me fight scenes are one of the best part of this novel, most of the time it is strategised, not any sudden appearance of powerful chars to save the MC (except 1-2 times).

For romance it's good, could have been more better but in just short 800 chapters, it's hard to manage all the female leads perfectly. Sadly because of bad ending or rushed ending, not every female lead has given the chance to fully develop their character.

At the end I must say it's not a perfect (there are lots of plot holes because of rushed ending) novel but without doubt enough to keep you reading first 600-700 chapters. <<less

I like this story, cause I'm biased towards table-top stuff, and this story heavily leans towards it.

Imagine a guy dropped in the body of a sick Noble (with a storyline) in a D&D type world (actually a game that he was super good at). Armed with the foreknowledge of the coming main campaign, he chooses to be the titular Ranger (a melee sneak based build though, no bows) and things carry on from there.

What types of things, you say? The Story is chapter based, where wherein MC uses reasonable thinking... more>> skills and/or his considerable martial prowess to
1) advance the noble storyline at a reasonable pace,
OR decides to prepare for the main campaign, by going item hunting/XP grinding/
.... and that's it. Pretty much like a D&D session, and I like it. The world building also seems intriguing so far, and the main campaign seems to be based on the Spellplague event.

Side characters are of the MY LORD IS SUPREMELY SKILLFUL, WHO THE FU- WAIT I'M ALREADY DEAD, WOW SO MYSTERIOUS variety. Serviceable NPCs basically, with little depth. However, even drops of water can fill a bucket, so I'm hoping that with repeated interactions things get better.

Grammar is good, and the translation is fine.

Overall, 4 stars. Very Good. If you like D&D, read it. Similar stories that I have read is The Amber Sword (which is of equal quality for me as of this review). <<less

It was 5 star story but ending was too rushed, thrashy, creating countless plot hole that you cant even count turning too many secret plots to nothing and unnecesery there were too many thing that needed an explainion that left unanswered. It would be better ıf author didnt write a final arc and instead dropped the whole story.

I know I have not read much but it was enough to drop it.

Author thinks that clicking a button on a keyboard and fighting in real life is exactly same.

After MC's first kill, MC is like 'i am slow' I am like you just killed a person first time in your entire life and thats what you have to say.

Total garbage.

i cant say should try and form your own opinion because it is just too poor to read.
