This is sooo good😭✨ I couldn't stop reading it this was fr for me one of the best novels😭✨ tbh for me jinglin was a mixed between wanning nd lan zhan the way he showed how cold nd stone like he was when his heart his made out of gold😭😭 nd changji is the best boii ✨✨ he's so loving towards our shy baby 🤭

Damn... the story was quite good. I really enjoy reading Nan Chan. Tbh there wasn't really any major twists in Novel that I was hugely surprised about lol. 😅 Dong Jun is totally my fav character in Nan Chan. He just seems cool and chill in the novel. ... more>>

I loved how the author incorporated the eight sufferings of life. It was totally cool how each sufferings were connected to each other by leading a new suffering each time.

This novel is truly unique and I like it. I dont really know what to say except saying that I enjoy reading it. There wasn't really anything that stood out to me that I really liked. But it's an awesome novel to read <<less

I finished this last year but I reread it again and cried my eye out again.

finally got a chance to write a review

ugh even though there is it some disturbing and somewhat long drag to this novel I still love it. Back story of the characters made me go nuts and Not only the main characters but also the other sides characters too. They all have sad and good moments that makes up for those parts I don’t really like.

Its a nice read if you're looking for a deep plot and schemings with a big boss hiding until the end.

The first part of the book was a bit boring (bc I was here for the romance) but still good nonetheless. The ML is quite cute and MC is very good.

It wasn't until the white fox with the broken tail arc did I fully immerse myself into reading. It was getting better, the plot, even without the romance part was getting good.

The past arc of the main CP was also... more>> good, I couldn't bring myself to stop reading. I practically binge read from there to the end. Its quite sad but I likr that they have a happy ending. The side characters are funny though I have some questions left that I dont know if they're plot holes or just I didnt pay attention enough.

What happened to Zong Yin's wife's brother since he's apparently 'not normal' or at least, has powers. Also, was the ninth heaven sect originally fron heaven or the whole sect just collectively ascended. It wasn't clear from the MAIN CP past arc whether that was the cultivation world or already the heaven.

It has become one of my favourite novel.. The plots, twists and storyline is simply amazing..I liked the ML very much.. This novel is kinda different from other bl novels.. The story of each characters is kind of heart-wrenching.. The important thing is that the novel describes the word LOVE from different views and it's effects on each person..I really enjoyed this novel..

Just beautiful. Its a little slow at the start but once you persevere, the plot develops really quick and you can't stop reading; and before you know it you are at the extras wishing there were more chapters.

A power couple. The MC is naive but in no way a coward- he stands like a sharp edged sword through out the "sufferings". And the ML is impossible not to like- this little carp... more>> may have a big appetite but his heart is even bigger. The codependency between them is beautiful to see where they cherish and sustain one another, come hail or rain.

Romance aside, the struggles between immortals and mortals, deities and demons, heaven and earth, evil and good are interwoven in a way that keeps you guessing till the very end. The author paints beautiful images with words where we can see the scenes unfold in our head as we read- the sound of blade against blade, the azure sleeves moving the wind, the roar of the canglong, the warmth of flesh against cold, everything feels so near to touch while we read through the lines. <<less

This is a well written novel, but I dont think its my cup of tea. The plot is pretty good but the pacing kinda put me off, to the point I took a break from it for a few months before I pulled myself together to finish it. Some parts are really interesting while some parts made it feel like reading the novel was a chore. Most of the time I was reading this I was confused af as to what the hell was happening haha well in the first... more>> half. I liked how the characters were all connected together in the end. Some side characters would have been better if they were more developed though (Dong Jun, Ah Yi, Fu Li, etc.). Then about the CP, I honestly tried to like it but I just don't get the emotional connection with them.

Their relationship started with a dub con one night stand and suddenly they get well with each other. It would have been better if their feelings had been explored on more instead of just being h**ny and having s*xual tension most of the time. It just feels unnatural for a reason. Their interactions were okay I guess but that's it.

Overall, plot was well written however pacing was weird at times and CP romance had potential but just didn't sit well with me. Didn't feel too connected to the characters also. <<less

I usually don’t remember much from sides characters. But this time Ah-Yi is literally my favorite!!😭😭 he’s such a crybaby but he grew up so so much in this story. I’ve found myself growing to like him the more he appeared. Yet, despite his growth, Ah-Yi still remained faithful to his character, being blunt, almost comedic, and kind-hearted.

The part where I was perplexed was the last arch where

the True Buddha was Lord Juitian and vice versa. I find it hard to accept that the True Buddha can be someone who has desired. Maybe because I was always told that Buddha was enlightened and detached from worldly desired.

Beautiful and Bittersweet.

The story is amazing, the world-building and all, the dynamics of the two main characters was beautiful and the suffering they went through. The translation is top-notch all thanks to Lianyin hehe :) The plot twist was kind of predictable for me because I have read TGCF before haha but still it was amazing. It starts off slow but after 10 chapters or so the plot progresses well :)

I have enjoyed this novel from start to finish in one go. A very good novel. I recommend this novel to read.

As story wise this novel is good. What I liked most is the emotional bonding between the CP.

... more>> CP is really great and their love is very special. In some moments I even cried for them. The love they show is just mindblowing.

And then the 8 sufferings. This is the main part of the novel.

However, what I dont like is, this is become short for me. Author should not have ended quickly.

  1. Honestly I don’t know how to write reviews but this novel is easily a 5 out of 5 stars. I don’t know what it is about pretty MCs that are smart and seem cold but deep down want to be childish like everyone else & MLs that are headstrong meat muscles that know their worth GET MY HEART BEATING ISTG GUYS.
  2. I just love these characters and while reading I never found myself bored with the way things were progressing but looking forward to what was coming next and when a lot of things got revealed like

This is so good highly recommend it. They are so cute together. Alot of ups and downs they go through and experience such heartfelt pain and how they over come it while investigating cases throughout the story. It is a happy ending and there is bedroom scenes 😊 enjoy

Just read it! It was a long read and needed a lot of brain cells to keep track of all the characters, but it was worth it. It took me a week to read it, and I’m usually reading everything as soon as possible, so you are warned it’s a whole project to finish it. To help estimate the size of this story, it’s divided into 4 books and you feel it while reading, that it’s indeed a story that arcs more then a 1000 years.
