My Youth Begins With Loving You

These days, all of the fine men have either already gotten married or already have a girlfriend.

If a man reaches thirty-two and he hasn’t married yet and he doesn’t have a girlfriend—nor has he ever even had a boyfriend or a girlfriend—then he definitely has some sort of physical defect.

If he doesn’t have any physical defects, then he definitely has some sort of psychological defect. If he doesn’t have any defects whatsoever, then only one explanation remains: he’s a Martian.

Miao Yuan never thought that one day, she would fall in love with a Martian!

This year, the girl who was in her early twenties had countless strange ideas.

They were mad at each other in one moment and happy with each other in the next. In one moment, they behaved well like kitties, and in the next, they were crying, saying that it was time to break-up.

Chen Mo felt that this young girl had to be some kind of alien creature. He never thought that one day, they would live together on Earth.

He is a sniper. In ‘chen mo,’ he approaches the target. Armed with only a gun, he never fails to see his target’s blood fall—he’s a natural soldier. In the past, his only love was a slender gun.

She is a pâtissiere. The fragrance of milk and honey wafts off the tips of her fingers. Delicately sweet-tempered and overflowing with laughter—she’s like a budding rose.

When the muzzle of the ice-cold gun meets the gentle and beautiful rose.

When the sweet cream melts the coarse bloodstains.

Life has a way of making the most unlikely people fall in love.

It's suuuuper cuuute!! It gets updated every Sunday only but I think it's worth the wait.

I'd say that the summary is a good description. Chen Mo, is a military man who moved back home to the city where his parents live because (if I remember properly) his parents were getting old and he wanted to be there for them. Now, of course, Chen Mo is about 30 years old and his mom thinks he should get married. Chen Mo decides to meet the ladies his mom sets up for him... more>> at Cafe Earth, which our beloved female lead, Miao Yuan, works at (she makes pastries, yum)

and she falls in love with him pretty much at first sight. Miao Yuan serves (only) him a special cake she makes every time he visits the cafe. After several failed attempts to find any of those obnoxious ladies charming, Miao Yuan's friend suggests that he visit Miao Yuan who was not at work because of a fever. And seeing that she had a good demeanor in his eyes, he does visit her and well, they start going out.

It's super cute how the straight-laced military focused man, Chen Mo, delves into the unknown territory of romance and tries to charm the lady, Miao Yuan with his military friends' advice. <<less

A lazy potato can't resist to post a review about this novel. It is simply sweet (literally and figuratively). One thing that really made the lazy me post a review is the author. In every chapter, there are words of wisdom about love and life that the author generously shares with the readers. It is like The Legend of Concubine's Daughter, Minglan. In every chapter, we come across sentences or paragraphs that make us ponder, think, reflect and look at things in a new perspective. Honestly, one factor that I... more>> love when I read novels is the lessons I will learn about everything in life. This novel is quite generous about it. I will edit my review once the jovel is completely translated. I recommend this to others. This novel is more than just cakes and fluff. Try it ? <<less

This book captures what love is about, making you reminiscent about past experiences. It's written extremely well and isn't unrealistic or extremely cheesy. I would definitely recommend reading this if you're searching for a sweet story with a few bumps.

>Translation quality is also extremely good

Edit: 30/07/2018

Came back to edit just to say PLEASE READ THIS. Amazing novel.

This novel is bittersweet in terms of narration. There's sweetness because of the main characters' interactions. Their feelings. And the desserts! Yum ?.

On the other hand, it's bitter because it explains that love is not like what we read in romantic books that young girls' like to read. It's not what we fantasize as something that will always gives us happiness and fluff.

Love was showed in this novel as something even deeper and incomprehensible. It's not just about possessing someone.

As someone who hasn't fallen in love yet, I kinda feel... more>> scared of that mysterious feeling. But at the same time, I want to experience it because -even a little- it gives people something to look forward to. That bittersweet feeling is something unique that not all will experience. It is also at this moment where you can learn something new.

So, that's what I felt while reading. I recommend this for you. The author also doesn't just put uneccessary words for the word count. A lot of it has life lessons and some would make you think philosophicaly. It would also make you question things such as the meaning of love. <<less

This novel had an okay start, sadly I feel it becomes rushed with a plot that was expected to be more prolonged and detailed.

The part where when FL was sick unexpectedly asks ML so forward with no consequences of the aftermath (because plot armor), and they only met for three/five weeks (approximately) at her cafe job in some days, I feel the story could've been written better with the friendship stage first, which is needed then couple stage, at last, the reasons behind the plots are short and rushed:

-reason why FL falls in love with ML of course it's love at first sight which is a hard plot to make it look acceptable, and the outcome was bland

-To make FL more acceptable for ML, there had to be supporting female characters as blind dates to differ FL as wow and supp FLs as annoying, in the end, ML accepting FL's plot armor confession, and somehow ML "falls in love" shortly after.

Dropped it at their first date, was so boring, I'm outta here.

Edit: My ramblings down here.

In short, the novel is very boring with how the plots don't have any tension and easily get fixed, the rest of the story I think it's their dull relationship with dog food. I say this because, in my opinion, they don't feel like characters when interacting together in a relationship, but of a puppet's relationship controlled by the author, quite harsh but the true outcome of the author's writing with tough plots that are hard to reason like love at first sight, cause after this stands the need to know a person with time 0-0... and not the need of a rushed plot.

Don't recommend, 1 star

for another okay material ML, r-r...

P.s. no bed scenes c12^

Good night;d.. <<less

really, I barely hold it. At first I decided to stop reading at chapter 13. But then after a year I picked this up again and yet I still couldnt read it

tbh, a story where FL chases falls in love and chases ML first is my cup of tea. But I can't with this story

idk somehow I feel that FL is so wilfull. Yeah for sure ML doesnt know what love is and how to love. But the point is, I think FL demands so much toward ML despite she knows that ML will not spoil them. If you're going to asks so much, why not go to someone who can spoil you the same? I mean not everyone knows how to love someone but really FL is too much for me. She really likes to exaggerate things and demands ML to accommodate her. But the thing is, ML doesnt even know what FL wants. Isnt it frustating?????

also, you know ML is a soldier, a top-notch one. He is extremely busy, his workload cant be told to anyone, his things cant be touched indiscriminately. But why FL always fuss over these things? I just felt she is childish and not mature enough for this relationship. It's like in FL's opinion, if we love each other, everything should be told and I have full control over you. But im pretty sure in adult life, escpecially those who have a work with a realtively high position and confidentiality, there's should be a boundary. At least, the other person has to willing to share their worries and works with you.

tho, I agree that ML is too cold-hearted and doesnt know how to maintain the relationship as no one tells him what to do. But on the other side I also think FL's expectation for him is way too much

i just feel this is a story of a childish FL who demands so much and ML who doesnt know anything on what to do in a relationship. I feel frustated reading this one <<less

It's been a long time I haven't written a review but I'm doing it for this novel. The novel is one of the most realistic novel I've read and have most realistic main leads. I specially like the ml, his personality, character is one of the best character that shows how real life person's are.. same with the FL, love is not always how books, movies show... it can be different in many ways, it can be about responsibility or just a duty.. anyways but still main leads really gave... more>> me lots of fuzzy feeling <<less

Well. I thought this would be a fluffy refuge from the salty books I’ve read. Who freaking knew I would still cry. The level of sweetness and cuteness it had at the beginning is the same level of bitterness you get when multiple issues start arising. The story was well developed at the beginning but I feel like towards the end it ended abruptly- but it could be just because I was reading raws. Definitely worth reading. Just that, this book won’t get a reread. Gosh it hurts so much.

*Kudos... more>> to the translator! I love the quality and the translation page was so cute! <<less

Honestly it kinda boring at first but I pushed through and read till it got to the part when the FL realized that the ML feeling for her was only like and not love and it was only her one sided feelings and action that mantain the relationship and the ML was going throught with it. That part really hit me hard, crying alert! And make me realize how much of a gem this story is

The author did a good job with the charachers being consistent especially the ML who... more>> at first doesn't even know love and how to love but slowly make an effort and learn about it unlike the usual ML who went OOC when facing the FL <<less

I have read all the reviews which incited me to start this novel with hight expectations buuut I'm just feeling bored.

Habituelly I like "the slice of life" type of novel with slow pace but this one... ghhh.. I coudn't make it more than 12 chapters.... may be it's me that's weird but for exp : when reading dialogue part the protagonists will start reminiscencing about things that are completely out of context and you'll forget about the actuelle convesation those the mood is lost and you end up with head... more>> ache.

The translation quality is really good and the story is not that bad (pretty cute) it's just personnel preference, so you wouldn't know until you try it.

May be I'll come back later to finish it !!! <<less

It's a truly slice of life story with a very ordinary skilled-in-cooking FL and a steel-cut straight-man ML. It's a journey through ML's life of having a girlfriend out of the blue, going with the flow and losing it.. After break-up he comes to understand his heart and emotions and chases back his wife..

A few tearful chapters but mostly full of the author's depiction of what love is from each of the leads' perspective..

Blob Translations did a fantastic job translating upto chapter 35.. Wonder why they didn't complete the story..... more>> Had to MTL the last 8 chapters from raw site.. <<less

I’m very rarely critical, but this was not my cup of tea. I’ve attempted to read this the second time, and I still couldn’t get myself to pass through the fever scene.

I don’t feel a connection between the MC and ML. Sure, let’s say that they do bc ML is at ease with her and MC is love struck for him. What else? I felt like the ML settled for MC because she was the most available bachelorette and because she was easy and good tempered. I think this is... more>> because of the lack of build up in the story. I ended up being more interested in ML’s military background. They just met a few times, sometimes not even having a full conversation and getting to know each other. Don’t get me wrong I think it had potential, but to a reader seeking that connection between characters I would give this one a hard pass : ( <<less

I understand why many people loved this book. It was fluffy but also had some tear-jerking moments. However, the female character was too soft. She was always initiated and this continued throughout the book

(even after their breakup.)

That just really annoys me because there's no development, making me feel really unsatisfied at the end.

Where did y'all read the raws?? It's still on hiatus and it's 2020 already.

Sorry I know this is supposed to be a review but I just want to read the story already!

Lovely, fluffy, bittersweet story.

That's how I describe it. It explores the relationship between two individuals who are inexperienced in love. Their struggles are pretty realistic considering their temperaments. Their relationship is warm but they just lack communication. It's not exasperating either. The whole pace is comfortable and you just need to let them move on their own. As a... more>> spectator, I only feel curiosity and giddiness as to what happens next. <<less

I can't help but moved by what MC's mother told ML when they had a talk. She said, " I gave my daughter to you, but all I ask don't let her come back to me crying, ".
