What was it like to have a top boss who is mysterious and powerful in the eyes of the outside world when he was a virtuous husband and perfect in the roles of washing clothes, cooking food, and taking care of the children for you every day?

The overbearing female President Zu Jin: Cool!

Zu Jin took a fancy to this man after taking an insightful look at him on the side of the road.

He was tall and handsome; he was calm and quiet. He looked easy to control…….

However, when she was about to take the initiative to attack and pursue him, she accidentally learned of the man’s true identity.

Zu Jin was extremely disappointed: I wanted to catch you. After we marry, I will earn money to support the family and you can be a full time cook and take care of the children. But who would have known you had this kind of identity.

……what else can I say.

The man calmly smiled: I think your idea is feasible.

Zu Jin: Slips away~

Straightforward tyrant and workaholic female president vs virtuous cook, husband, and black-bellied boss

Hi, I'm the translator for this novel. Thus, this will be a biased review.

The novel is about the romance between a strong career woman and a man who supports her goals. He eventually becomes a house husband for her.

The romance in the novel moves quickly, but it is also very mature. The couple are very good about communicating with each other, and it's really nice to see a relationship where both parties are willing to apologize and admit to their faults.

Additionally, I really like the female lead for being very... more>> straightforward, intelligent, and older (she's 35 years old at the start). She knows what she wants in life and has a very good sense of how to navigate in a patriarchal society as a female in a position of power. Some of her thoughts provides comedic relief during the story, while other times it shows how human she is.

I think for this author's first novel, it's a really good novel. I hope you will like my translation and thank you for reading my review! <<less

Its a very good story. Very refreshing I guess. I really like their compatibility. I like people who knows exactly what they want.

Both their parents have issues that can be said to be from a typical dog blood drama.

All in all it was a good read just one thing im unsatisfied about, ... more>>

i want something to atleast happened to MC's friend xio tong. The one who betrayed her. Hm, how could you just reveal confidential documents to enemies when you know exactly well that it will harm her just because that enemy once bought you sanitary pads before. Like what?

The author didn't hide it one bit that they have pretty strong and unique views about wife-and-husband dynamics they want to be able to see in fiction and/or real-world alike. Kudos to them because their objective is achieved and the target audience is reached! 😭 Lmao haha FR It's very believable, fun, and refreshing!

The story is very straight to the point and narrated the point from mainly the FL's pov. The story could've easily fallen into the temptation of conducting arcs on how their relationship is very unique, how their... more>> relationship dynamics are so absurd, and/or make the ML very high-key and make dog food for people around them to eat every day, but thank god it didn't! And it's very thoughtful that it's written this way, that the FL just happened to have this kind of temperament, and the ML just happened to not be a chauvinist, and be very low-key. It's just so UGH.

What I love most about it is that they didn't feel the need to put more strain and angst on the dynamics of the "reversed role" the leads took. If they have written it so, it would have just turned very dramatic real quick, unoriginal, bland, and tbh just really, really sad. It would have also covered up the vibrant and quiet, peaceful, genuine, and comforting relationship they have with each other that really shone through with the right and simple decisions the author took for this story.

In short, I really, really loved this story. No anxiety, fluff but not forced at all, and "reversed roles" done right! I didn't really consider the thought of any partner agreeing to stay at home for our family while I take care of the outside matters but damn, now an internalized misogynistic value is uncovered and changed, where do I find a forgetful man on the sidewalk who would spill his coffee on his pants in broad daylight who I can propose to and build a family with? 😭❤️ <<less

Such a refreshing novel.

It's always loads of fun to read dog blood or romance novel with domineering President characters but real relationships are almost never this explosive. Most common relationships start with nervousness and hesitancy with amplified sweet moments that evolve to absolute routines that provides stability and steady source of care and dependence, especially in marriages. After all, it takes a lot of understanding, conversations and compromises to maintain a steady relationship. And this novel shows a glimpses of a such a romance betwee a highly ambitious, career oriented... more>> woman who striving to reach the goals she has set for herself and a supportive man who values family, with a modern NO misogynistic or male chavonistic thinking.

This novel is a little blunt, with extremely fast progress of relationship. Yet it still hold interest and charm with its steady mature adult thinking and how tangled human relationships can be. The story has some really sweet moments mixed in with work based thinking process of the MC and het navigating inter personal relationships. Later, it progresses to how the married relationship is maintained and how both partners seemed to have adjusted and accepted each other's characters.

Of course this is a too good to be true male lead but it was refreshing to read such a relationship dynamics in a chinese novel with a career successful man ready to take the house-husband route and head strong dominant woman who takes her career accomplishments to be a gained a necessity even after marriage.

Not that the novel doesn't have its shares of issues but its a quick read and if you debating whether to pick it up or not - I would say go for it. Atleast it won't leave you with an unsatisfied ending. <<less

Refreshing story

i read it until the end but its not my cup of tea

since for me, if a husband act like MC I am sure that everybody will say that he is rude and abusive. But since she is a women, it does not seems abusive? I know the ML accept the MC as she is, but is still does not feel right for me

But overall, the story is quite good

This was lovely. While I almost always prefer to read a transmigrated heroine story changing fate and bettering her new future, this book was so emotionally mature I couldn’t help but fall for its wholesomeness. The first chapter had me in moments with its description of the male lead and the female lead was absolutely a well made character; not op but definitely powerful with hidden vulnerability. Loved it!

Yan Ling is the only parent that do good parenting in that work- and maybe that gal who's a friend of Zu Jin.

Seriously, why did you have to include a child in your plan if you aren't even going to take interest on what she likes? I was just kind of meh- from the beginning because she's a career-oriented woman but. I. Can't. With. Zujin's. Inner. Monologue.

I would have been fine if the author did not disclose that part. I would have like to lived in blissful ignorance thinking that you're going to be an excellent parent but- my golly. Yeah, I would have liked Yan Ling better as my favorite parent too. Don't get me wrong, Zu Jin does like her daughter. She plays with Yan Xiaofei but- I just can't get over with not knowing her daughter.

Yan Yueling, Bai Qi and that gal whose father is the first boss of Zu Jin. They came like a whirlwind and disappeared like a bubble.

I was like :pikashock:.

Seriously tho, I want to emphasize this again: Yan Ling is the only decent parent there. Zu Jin can come second but uhhh- there's a medium distance between their ranking point s in parenting.

Really simple story so far. A romance between a career woman and a stay-at-home lover (who's not exactly a rice bag).
The premise sounds good and the execution so far is pretty chill. Given that it's a short story, I'd say it's ratings are a bit biased. Maybe not for everyone, since the pace might be a bit fast but it is rather understandable considering the position of working adults. The story is completely my cup of tea though.

I love strong woman as a female lead. I really do. But somehow, MC in this story, no matter how awesome the author tried to portray her, didn't sit well with me.

First, she wanted to have a kid badly but after she gave birth to her, she threw her to ML for raising. I mean, if you really wanted to focus on your career, why did you want to have a kid as soon as possible? At least wait until you're less busy so you could participate in the child raising.

Second, I didn't like how she took ML's consideration for granted. I knew that ML was a willing party and he was more than happy to give in to her but still, her attitude left me with a bad taste. It's okay if ML was a househusband from the start but he clearly had his own career too. He often pushed back his business for the sake of MC's business but MC rarely did that for him. I didn't think it's a healthy marriage.

Maybe this story just wasn't for me. <<less

it's good, not too good and it doesn't seem too smooth tbh. everything is happening in a rush and before we can even see more of the relationship growth, they have a kid and then it's a 3-year time skip. I think had this novel had more sweet moments or even more descriptive kisses or made this more mature it could have received more attention. but for the way it is... the idea is excellent-i LOVE it... but the execution is truly poor... it needs more details between the couple,... more>> more details about their marriage, more details about their backstory not to mention If they didn't want to give details about romance then at least about how they interact with the child-but nope and if not that they could have concentrated more on how she builds up her own empire and surpasses the ML or even can stand against him.

it had a good concept and I mean it's short so I wouldn't say it's a waste of time and I don't regret reading it...I just feel things were too rushed and there was some unexpected drama-a bit over the top tbh... <<less

The story is quite good, so short and yet it’s contained alot ‘romance’ drama and a few dog blood. I love their relationship, it’s so true, if you find someone who have the same ideas in life and attract to each other, why not just get together, even though their relationship started like a bit business contract, they do like and have the same values and love each other. The way they do this also save alot of misunderstandings and muddles, or guesses that sometimes creates unnecessary heartache and intolerance.... more>> The role reversal is cute. And does address alot of women who late to marry or cannot find a marriage partner because of their careers. I guess the roles works well also because of their age, and ML is very successful and can work remotely, so can take on the homemaker role, FL is want to strive her best and have the power to do so, it’s just she a female, society always deem a women over 30 is too old for marriage and children and frown upon, and they are expect that woman should stay home and take care of children.

So with their characteristics and circumstances make them a good match. This novel also not forgetting to add some broadroom drama, rich family fuels into it, makes it s very well rounded story comparable to those 100s chapters of ceo novels. There’s of course some plots hole and some things that left untold, but it’s doesn’t seem too glaring as this only have 30+ chapters. The “ romance “ part is abit scarcely but they have their cute interaction and old married couple vibes. Can’t help but cheered what agood match they are. Thank you <<less

The story flow move too fast.

It's not that a flash marriage/pregnancy is a bad thing tho it's quite romantic in its way (the real thing is there are people out there who really get a flash marriage due to many circumstances and it's not always a bad thing)

But the problem here is the pace. The story flow. Which is too fast like there is a missing story in between. The feeling is not fully equipped. Like a missing lyrics. You know something is not right, and you wish to... more>> make it right somehow but you cant. And it is stuck in your chest because you can't let it go.

You will u understand once you read it. <<less
