Fourteen-year-old Su Bei almost died when she caught a high fever, got transmigrated into another world, and finally figured out a shocking truth—it turned out that her original world she was just a novel and her whole family were villains.

The woman who gave birth to them was the cannon fodder in the novel. She and Su Xiaobao were written like this in the extra chapter: One was a little bastard who tried to bully the male lead’s daughter and eventually got thrown into prison and the other one became an escort who, after having failed to seduce the male lead, was killed by an evil director. They also have a dad whom they never met and was the biggest villain in the book.

Back to her original world, the first thing Su Bei did was to take Su Xiaobao and find their father.

Su Bei: Su Xiaobao, quick, call him.

Su Xiaobao: Call him what?

Su Bei: Call him dad.

Su Xiaobao: I don’t want to, do it yourself.

Su Bei: Dad!

Looking at these two dirty children in front of him, Mr. Qin’s eyes showed disgust.

I'm not good at making constructive reviews. But as long as the series interests me, I'll keep reading. And this is one of them. You can't really question why after transmigrating, the villains becomes the good guys and the novel protagonists becomes bad instead.

I mean.. Once one of the souls change, and that soul is a good one, it will have a butterfly effect on people around them thus changing the course of events and the outcomes. Different from the novel. Especially if they know their lives is on the... more>> line and they know what will happen if they don't do things differently. The bottom is, human survival isn't it? As a reader, I wouldn't want to read a transmigrator or reincarnator that remained being stup*d and cruel. Of course, the author knows that as well that's why the villains becomes the protagonists. <<less

Huh, very typical, Let us bully MC and later make her rise like phoenix.

It would have been fine and all if it wasn't for her brother. For some reason, he had none of the bullying. He was even treated as a handsome boy, while his sister was called a sl*t. There was even a scene where her brother was angry with his classmate, and the classmate said back along the lines: (What is wrong in calling her a whore's daughter?) Like hello, you are talking to her twin brother. But... more>> nope, nothing is said about it. So basically a typical let's bully the female MC, because readers like to read about women being bullied. Sadly, it is a genre that exist. Woman being bullied. Even if in this novel the MC rises as a phoenix, it doesn't change the fact that at every turn someone will try to call her names, make up rumours and so on. It is a very passive, face slapping novel.

MC is on passive side. While she does do things, the plot more focuses on how everyone react to her rather her doing something. Many chapters will go on where she just exists and everyone is talking about her. It gets tiresome fast.

Her brother is more like an overprotective dog rather than a character.

Her father is basic - cool ice freezer face type of overbearing character.

All characters are place into two camps, they either love MC or hate her.

I also don't understand her past life. She lived there 4 (?) years? Was sick most of the time and died, yet she learned playing music, learned school things, learned hacking at god lvl... Yeah, yeah OP girl, did you also have 5 boy friends that all were secretly in love with you? I have no problem with OP characters, but at least make it believable. In book life she failed school and started selling her body, but now you are telling me, she turned high IQ in four years, while most of the time dying?

Plus, what other people say in reviews, ML is pedo. <<less

Fun read to a point but a lot of strange writing choice leaves a lot to be desired.
Spoiler

The family relationship is cute a lot of the time but also leaves out the brother a lot.
The main villain just kinda loses at some point without the MC really doing anything when the MC seems to be the greatest hacker in the country. Why give the MC this ability when they aren't actually going to do anything story relevant with it. Especially when it would have been so easy and satisfying to implement.
The romance interest is a grooming creep who at the age of 21 started liking her when she was 14. Initially he didn't know her age but once he finds out he goes to token therapy but continues to creep around her for years, giving her gifts, spoiling her and showing up to drive her places all the time setting up "coincidental" encounters and as soon as she turns 18 confesses right away. When the dad finds out he even say this to the guy:
"You hid your intention from me, approaching Xiaobei as an elder brother, letting her get used to your existence, and then using her trust and dependence to make her agree to be with you. Do you think this is a proper thing to do?"
How do you as an author write that, clearly showing you get how f*cking creepy it is but just going along with it anyway? Why? You could have just had a different romantic interest. Such a s*upid choice.
Also stop policing girls clothes so f*cking much f*ck just have them wear "normal" clothes and don't mention it at all if you can't stand short skirts or something.

Besides the beginning, there's not much conflict in this novel. It's mostly family fluff between dad and daughter. The son does not get much screen time. I liked it a lot at first but it bothers me that FL is too OP.
Spoiler

It says that she's a genius at playing piano and is the best at hacking into computers in all of China essentially due to her 4 years of practice.

They haven't had much romantic interaction as of chapter 80 though.

Its a great novel. No dog blood. The story is smooth though it would been better if the novel was lengthen. I would love it if there were some addition during the four years when the twins enter high school and the part of the ML. For me it felt abrupt. More description about the ML and this and that. But over all the fluff is so good. The interaction of the three family is good. The other characters is well. The part of Xiaobao, I hope there is an... more>> extra story for him. And I reall, really love daddy Qin. He's super adorable daddy. This story is full of love and family. I love it. <<less

I mtled it. A nice piece of brainless fun when you want to disengage your brain. I dont know if I got bored due to using mtl or because the story become boring in their plot as the halo of the 'villain' family is too large. But anyway I always hate 'super hacker' or 'medicinal goddess' kind of MC (you know, super op without reason as op people are boring) so I stop due to this kind of MC.

But still you should still try, the beginnings are pretty good.

Quite nonsensical, but it was a fine enough time-killer up until the eleventh hour, when the romantic subplot swung in full force. She is fourteen and he is in his early twenties at the time they meet. This by itself would perhaps not be a problem if the writing was good and nuanced and, crucially, if he was not also her employer, and he was not angsting all over the place about how ‘unfortunate’ he is to have fallen in love with a child and how he must let go... more>> of this “love.” That’s not nuance! That’s him admitting he knows he’s a sicko and then GETTING WORSE ABOUT IT!

She doesn't even like him or see him that way! She gives him a chance despite her better instincts! And the author expects us to be OK with it since it’s handwaved as “even her incredibly strict old-fashioned father eventually accepted him as his son-in-law”??? No. No! Bad writing! Bad!! <<less

The entire story was pretty good. It was wholesome especially with the family bonding time.

Things that I like in this novel:

Spoiler
  • The interaction between Mr. Qin (Father) and the children. For me I think he was a pretty neutral father when he first accepted them. But later on he took on more responsibility on being their father. The way the dynamic between them change over time is pretty wholesome to read.
  • There are some interaction between them that just melts my heart. Like the kids wearing T-shirts with pigs and Mr. Qin wearing a T-shirt that says pig breeder.
  • FL is a genius to say the least. She is great at coding, hacking and playing piano.
  • The end chapters really made me tear up. Mr Qin travels back to the original timeline and protects his children.
[collapse]

But there are still some things that stuck to my throat like a bone which was uncomfortable.

Spoiler
  • First thing I didn't like was the ML (not the father but FL's future partner). Their entire love story felt a bit forced and for me it displayed the process of grooming.
  • ML started liking FL when she was 14. It's 14 not even 18 when she was just literally a child and mind you they have a 7 years age gap. I don't find fault in ML for falling in love with FL (FL hid her identity and was working for ML and ML didn't know who she was and fell in love with her. ML thought she was older because of her professionalism which I don't blame him for). After knowing that she was 14 he went out to get help from consultation which I still give him a praise for that as he knew having such feelings for a literal child was wrong.
  • But but but he still stays in her life for 4 years till she became an adult and then start dating each other. He was also very involved in her life for 4 years that FL's father even trusted him with his children. He stays in her life as a elder brother whom she trusts and respects very much since young and when he sees a chance of dating her he jumps into it.
  • It would have been better if he just stayed away from her and just maintained a proper business relation with her. With this if he later pursued her and she agreed then it would still be fine.
  • I know that her mental age is older but ML doesn't know this so this still makes it gross.
  • There is also some moments where I feel uncomfortable reading the difference in the treatment for Su Xiaobao and Su Bei. I feel that a parent should treat both their kids the same way no matter the gender or other differences.
  • Many times Su Xiaobao (twin of FL) just comes out as a backdrop for FL. I would have loved it if the author also explored his story more.

The story got me hooked from the start. The relationship between the family is really cute, but as soon as I got close to the end, I started to feel uncomfortable from the blooming relationship between the FL and ML that I had to drop it.

Spoiler

ML met and liked FL when he was 20 and FL was 14 (?)... :/ Pedophilia behavior if you ask me. Just from looking at the other reviews, FL and ML dated when they were both adults (bc of the timeskip?) but it still does not justify the circumstances of their relationship. ML liked FL WAY before she turned into an adult and basically had to wait for her to turn into an adult. If you do not see something wrong with this relationship, please reflect on it. Like seriously.

[collapse]

Truthfully, I don't see why the author had to put romance at the end. It's not really fitting and I think that it's completely unnecessary. But that does not mean I am satisfied with their familial relationship as well. Her brother has little significance in the story. He is even sometimes missing for about 2-3 chapters and then he pops up again. Even there was an obvious difference in treatment of dad between the daughter and son. Overall, I think he's a character that deserved much better.

It would have been a good story without the sexism (probably from the culture), OPness of the FL, lack of conflict, extras kowtowling for FL, clear favoritism, and romance. <<less

Don't bother reading when it hits the timeskip
Spoiler

because that's when the rushed romance between an elder brother figure— who has had feelings for a girl who was fourteen as a man who was in his 20s— develops. Nevermind that MC is a transmigrator and mentally legal, or that he caught feelings while not knowing her real identity. It's the way he still approached her whilst she was growing up and doted on her (and her twin brother). Anyway, lowkey grooming vibes

10/5 PERFECT!

It's not boring, it's really amusing and enjoyable, I finished reading it within 3 days and I still want more.

The story focus on our MC Su Bei, and her interaction with her father and brother. It's really worth it to read.

The story also shows her talent/ability, and some subtle romance. It's sweet but not too much.

Anyway the story revolves around our MC.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

(EDIT:

JULY 19, 2022: I saw this again and decide to reread it since I've been searching for it the whole time but I forgot the title... I was so glad to see this again and read it nonstop.

I finished the whole novel within a day (started on July 18 evening, ended on July 19 evening.

Just wanna say that it still never fail to amuse me. I still love it and I'm happy to see this again. Probably gonna read it again next year lol)

Story is cute. There's some fun to be had in poor teens becoming rich overnight, if you like that kind of trope. I know I did.

Besides that it's just about defrosting an unsociable father, and then some fluffy family time near the end.

Nobody is explored too deeply because it's really not an ambitious novel, and there's some nonsense "hacking" along the way that might bother some people.

In the epilogue (after a timeskip) there's some awkward romance tacked on. The resulting relationship is like, eh, whatever, but the reveals about the... more>> male lead's 'sweet' behaviour over the years is super creepy.

Dude knew he was in love with a 14 year old as a 20-year-old man but decided to stick around as an older brother figure instead of staying away.

First of all, poor, poor decision making that speaks of subconscious desires being rationalised. Interviews with alcohol-induced s*x criminals often involve the predator genuinely believing that they "just" felt like following their target that night for perfectly innocuous reasons. Then it "just happened".

That psychologist friend was clearly being a better friend than a responsible psychologist or decent member of society.

Second of all, if it wasn't for the protagonist being mentally 18 or whatever, what he did would have been dangerously close to child grooming, subconsciously or not.

Some of the comments like 'I'm perfectly fine with an age gap AS LONG AS the minor becomes an adult before any "playful action" takes place.' have me concerned about potential child groomers in the future, lol.

I mean, don't get me wrong the ending was fine. She was into older guys to begin with since she was reincarnated, and I know people like male leads who spoil. Plus, we can take hints about the author's intention meaning that we know he's a genuinely good guy.

But still creepy, the way a sudden unplanned and unannounced abduction, followed by blindfolding, gagging, and then gang banging the heroine in a remote warehouse with the male lead's mates is still yikes even if the narration reads 'and they were all very much in love, and all knew there was consent even if it wasn't verbally expressed at any point before or during the abduction, because they were all good men and understood her desires on a spiritual level even without verbal confirmation'. <<less

Its quite a good simple read. Not much stress and full of family love, with slight face slapping. MC is very OP so it might not be everyones cup of tea.

I dont agree with other comments that Qin Dad is partial. They just got a different way of getting along.

Spoiler

And MC is the protagonist, of course there would be a lot of interaction between Qin Dad and MC that it would seem like twin bro is being neglected. But I disagree.

MC is sweet and caring, its natural for her. So Qin Dad, in his awkward way, tries his best to be gentle with her knowing she's been through alot too, she's a girl and also, because she takes initiative at the start to care for him. She's just more straightforward with interacting with him.

While twin bro is more of a tsundere, much like Qin Dad. So they often bicker. But as what the teacher sees in his in his essay previously, its their own unique way of showing love. Competing for MC's attention. But it doesnt change the fact that they care for each other.

Although Xiaobei and Xiaobao's birth was an accident, it didn't change the fact that they were his treasures.

-Qin Dad

It might bother me that MC is OP in hacking. But not much in piano. In case of the piano, she was deemed as genius because to others, she just started like a few days ago, but can already play a piece. But in reality, she's not a beginner. Hacking OPness I dunno, can you be proficient in 4yrs? Maybe she's just smart.

About them being a Villain of this Novel World, but doesnt seem like it. I dont really care about this part. I meant this to every novel with the same concept Ive read.

You can say, history is always written by the winners. They were the Protagonist. Somebody had to be the Villain. The author of the Novel they were in, wanted them to be Villains to be stepping stones of these Protagonist. Readers read this like it is, hiding all those foul and cruel truths the so called Protagonist really did. But in reality, there are always two sides to every story.

Regarding the age difference between MC and ML. I actually dont know. I mean, 1st of all, ML fell in love with the hidden persona of MC, who comes off like a mature and talented woman he thought was within the same age range as he was. MC even said that when her soul lived in another world for 4 yrs, her mentality grew with age. Its not impossible for ML to fall in love with the '18 yrs old' her. When he found out that she was 14 turning 15, he felt it was wrong, so he went to a psychologist friend to help him get rid of the feelings he has for her. He DIDNT pursue her. So I think it was a bit much to call him a pedo. Cause a pedo is an adult who has s*xual fantasies or urges to have s*x with a child. Besides, their age difference is only like 6/7 yrs. Thats not much compares to other novels.

I love the female lead! She's very OP along with her family and friends. Although her mental age is older than her actual age, she still gives off the youthful outlook and overall fresh vibe. This is full of fluff, especially because of the men of the family - one has sister complex, the other has daughter complex. Similarly, the female lead loves to dote on both men so it just gives you uwu feels ♥♥

Honestly, it's 5/5 stars for me. I changed it to 4 stars because it has... more>> "romance" listed in it genres. However, you won't get to the romance part until the last few chapters. The romance part also did not give me butterflies in my stomach - it was ¯_ (͠° ͟ʖ °͠) _/¯ but ignoring the romance part, it's really deserving of 5 stars!

Its mtl is also easy to understand. I started reading the mtl version at chapter 59. <<less

I wouldn't rush to read this - it's decent fluffy slice of life without much real tension as all the "good guys" are super OP, but I was mostly reading to see which love interest the author would go with in the end and it was not the one I was rooting for. However, it's kind of rare there are even multiple viable choices, so I guess kudos for that!

I honestly really enjoyed reading this story. Its more on familial love and not so much on romance till the very last few chapters which I could easily ignore lol.

As someone raised in an Asian household I did have some comments regarding reviews above:

Spoiler

First of all, chinese dads sometimes does not take care of daughters since they are married “out” so I found Qin Shao loving the daughter more to be very wonderful tbh. As for his competitive streak with his son, it was only amusing to me and understandable. They’ve only met each other at 14 years of age and both father and son have similar temperaments leading to a competitiveness between them in regards to sister/daughter’s love. To me it only made the novel humorous and fun to read. I enjoyed how Qin Shao protected his children. With regards to having boundaries between genders and all, well he’s a new dad he’s bound to think a different way seeing as how he has his kids as they’ve already grown.

[collapse]

I enjoyed the faceslapping with how OP Su Bei is. Shrugs. Just found it a fun read. I adored the interactions in their school.

As for the romance with ML, well, I found it okay I guess but like what other reviews have mentioned, the initial adoration when shes ~15 was icky to me but thankfully it only firmly materialised when she’s older.

I do however completely adore the extras whereby the dad saves them both in the end. My heart is healed.

Honestly would’ve loved more family interaction’s especially between father and son. A good read. Thanks translator! <<less

It was a good read.

This is more of familial love so don't really look for romance here.

Though Lin guy fell for a 14 yr old Su Bei, he waited till she's in college before he confessed. He was just acting as a brother while waiting for her.

Daddy Qin is my fave here.

I would also love for more of Su Xiaobao's story or even a little new love for Daddy Qin.

All in all, love the sis-con bro-con, daddy's girl moments

I came to write the review after completing the novel.

I read the comments before reading it and was not sure whether it would be a good choice but thankfully I did read. The translation is good. There is no such disgusting concept as child predator. He clearly told his feeling after she reached 18 and he didn't like her from age 9-10 but at 14 which is pretty ok.

The novel is super fluff. I only cried in the last two episodes. there were no such antagonist in the love part... more>> which is pretty good.

Plus it also satisfied my fantasy of big bro considerate partner. Not the cold unfeeling man.... <<less

If you want to read some fluffy story without too much up and downs or drama, this novel is for you. The focus of the story is the family dynamics of Qin Shao, Su Xiaobao and Su Bei. The romance of Su Bei is almost simply rushed at the end. You can consider the romance aspect as some sort of bonus but it is not the main aspect of the plot. Overall, the story is nice, but not super good. Read it after reading novels that have stressful drama lol.
