The only thing scary about someone with hemophobia is a vampire with hemophobia.

As a skilled Emergency Department doctor, Doctor Shang meets a series of abnormal non-human races such as a werewolf with pet allergies, an elf who sings out of tune, a highly myopic celestial master, an incubus who doesn’t like girls, a baby dragon who is afraid of heights, and a vampire with hemophobia.

He opens the door to a new world, heals and saves people, subdues demons, eliminates devils, and every day his only goal is to get his boyfriend to drink blood. To help his domestic vampire overcome hemophobia, Doctor Shang has thought of many ways: bottles, blindfolds, handcuffs, and food coloring.

Unfortunately, none of these solutions worked.

So – in the end, Doctor Shang could only chase after his vampire, bitterly rolling up his sleeves at him, “Try biting me one more time! Just one bite!

I know we aren't far into the story yet, but...

the translation is awesome and the reading experience is very smooth. I like the MC because of his logical, calm and collected personality/behaviour. He has high IQ and medium to high EQ, he isn't your typical no emotions iceberg, but an actual human being with good humor. Also he is fit, has good moral standards and knows how to protect himself.

ML.. is a bit unique? Let's not talk about him being a vampire that faints at the sight of blood, his... more>> character is also a bit different. He has stalker tendencies, doesn't know of personal space/privacy and has little to no common sense. His speech is old fashioned (which doesn't get lost through the translation!) and his behaviour is like hmm a royal highness, who is down to earth, but still has this natural arrogance about him. But don't let that scare you of, though he is quite the strange fellow all in all he is nice, polite and charming.

Overall this novel seems promising and I can definitely recommend it. 👌🏻 <<less

This isn't a deep novel. It's not full of complex characters and plot.

It is a delightful little aperitif of a story that is quick, brainless and super funny. It's goofy with smart dialog and supernatural weirdness.

If you've just finished a deep dive into a meaty, angst-filled story for your main course, this is a cupcake with extra frosting and a sparkler on top to have for dessert. Enjoy!

Maybe it's just me, but I had a hard time following this story. Could be the pacing? Or just how it's written? Trying to understand what's going on is giving me a headache, honestly.

Hmm this was kinda hard to read from the first chapter... idk if it's the translation, or the way the author writes it, but some parts just don't make sense at all, and almost feels like I'm missing a few sentences/paragraphs... the way the MC just accepts the identity of ML and other's acceptance of supernatural in general is also kinda slipshod, but then again, this is def not realistic... but to me, it feels like a parody writing than something that's really funny and u can enjoy. Chap 16... more>> was my limit for this... even though I do love their interactions, it's just weird. <<less

Its kinda slice of life story, there is no really plots. So at one point its bit boring (because same formula?), although MC and ML dynamics is interesting.

Cmiiw (lol, I am fall a sleep in middle of my reading), there are few plot holes, like ML half brother, MC lineage, there still no conclusion.

The story is not deep. The begining is... akward. Cute moment. Like it if you want to spend some hours.

Almost all the story I was thinking... Can we put the blood in pils and give him like that.

A fun and light story about a human doctor (the MC) surrounded by a cast of supernatural characters, some of whom are afflicted with some kind of illness, which is the source of much hilarity. Very much suited for a donghua or movie.

I agrewith some of the other reviews; there's definitely some awkward pacing throughout the novel. I actually don't think it's the translator's fault because Exiled Rebel's translations are generally good. Sometimes, the characters are talking about one issue and in the next sentence it talks about something completely different. There are times when the chapter ends somewhat half-way through the conversation and I have to double check if I missed anything. I just came back from reading Distance and that story seems to have a similar problem, with weirdly abrupt... more>> endings that make it feel like the chapter doesn't actually conclude anywhere.

The characters don't seem bad; we have a calm but light-heartedly humourous MC and the ML trying to romance him with these dramatic, outdated tactics and flirting.

It's actually hard to get a read on these characters because the slap-stick comedy tone mimics a parody; it's hard to take any of the characters very seriously.

In all honesty, the concept is good and in theory, the characters seem nice but the writing itself and the parody-awkward writing makes a 3 star review feel a little generous. <<less

Yes I mtl this lmao

Honestly, for me I love this novel so much because of both the trope and character is very lovable- especially the MC and ml, it's pretty fast paced but for me personally I like fast pace because I don't need to have mental breakdown just for the plot to go on. Some plothole but honestly- this is fantasy so yea lmao. 10/10 will read this again when the official translation is done

The story's quite entertaining and unique with a fun cast, but this novel has a messy storytelling and abrupt pacing.

I can't count how many times I've gotten lost in trying to keep up with where the characters were and what they were doing before a sudden scene change happened or characters suddenly appeared out of nowhere.

And lets talk about the jokes. Sometimes it's funny, sometimes it's shriveled dry or sometimes it's out of your cultural understanding because it's only funny in Chinese. Reading the supposedly funny jokes looked more like... more>> reading a bad stand-up comedy or tsukkomi-boke routine that didn't even try to engage their audience. It was... executed so awkwardly.

It would've helped many readers a great deal if the paragraphs were broken up more and edited further since this author's style is notoriously vertigo-inducing. Maybe it's my taste speaking but I've never really loved any of their works. I like this novel's CP, though.

To new readers, I'd suggest you to read slower. It truly takes some time to get used to. Also, beware of sudden onslaught of mass info dump. The author had the habit of constantly adding new info to the characters so not only do you have to rebuild your existing impression of them, you also have to add the info when you barely know who's who since new characters kept appearing in each chapter. I had to supress the urge to register this author in a composition class. <<less
