“Young Master? Is something the matter, Young Master?”

“……Eh?”

Someone was tugging on my sleeve.

After getting this dizzy feeling for a second like right before you doze off, the scene around me came into view.

“Eh?”

This “Eh?” was a different “Eh?” than the previous one.

It meant… Why am I here?

I looked around.

It seemed like some kind of banquet hall in a mansion somewhere.

There were a bunch of people around, apparently having a party.

Somehow I’m here, even though just a second ago I was getting drunk at home after work…… That’s what it meant.

“Eeeeeh!?”

This third “Eh” was spoken in a much louder tone of voice.

That was because I’d looked down at my body, and then held my hands up in front of my face.

I’m…… a child?

[I am the translator for this. You'll find my version under the group Asada Translations (once it's approved). I normally would've just continued from chapter 4, except that other person's "translation" is literally unintelligible. I'm not even exaggerating, check it out after reading my properly translated version.]

So, this webnovel is the latest in a loooong string of shitty isekais by this author. So, like, don't expect anything mindblowing lol. But I have a feeling, or maybe just a naive hope, that this has the potential to be entertaining shit.... more>> Also, there's no bullsh*t "cheat" mechanic, s*upidly unbalanced videogame stats, or creepy s*x stuff, which sets it apart from like 90% of webnovels. I ain't even wrong though lol.

Maybe it'll actually be good though. Either way, I'll be translating it. No matter how bad it gets, I won't drop it, so neither should you. <<less

Interesting. The story is commonplace. An middle-aged man take possession of a young body. The youngster is the enesime son of a noble family. Common, no? He learns magic fast, almost like a cheat. Common, no? So what is so interesting so I would give 4 stars and not 2 or 3 for a common story? THE COMMENTS !!!!!!! The translator do comments after each chapter. The common sense of a reader is here - what happened? to where this will go? what you hope happens? Don´t let this out...... more>> it would turn your experience poorer. <<less

It's a pretty common isekai where person transfers over and he is unnaturally talented in magic. Nothing really sticks out as bad aside from his magic method which is unheard of since others never really thought to use magic in business which is really strange. Another bad point is the MC seems really carefree and doesn't have any motivation/ambition at all so be aware that the novel is mostly slice of life. Best thing I'd compare this to is death March.

Tl:dr Translator is good but story is entirely filler and full of plot-holes.

Ill be honest, this story sucks, its super boring and the best way to describe it is that the entire story is filler.

The translator is good and perfectly readable.

... more>> Now im into isekai tr*sh but I dont think ive ever came across one so mind-numbingly boring that it single-handedly sucks all of current urge to read novels out of me. I had to stop at c35 and I dont even know how I managed to get this far.

The magic system at first seems fun and mysterious, infact that was what lured me here in the first place as I love magic, but the MC seems so simultaneously genius and clueless about magic that it hurts.

Ok so most of this has just been general thoughts but im going to try to be more specific now. The story has a massive problem with power scaling and plot-holes. The MC learns basic magic at a s*upid fast rate, thats cool, but somehow after learning from a genius magician, mastering many spells and becoming one of the strongest mages in the guild, if not the world, he still struggles to deal with monters that are rare but still common enough for there to be 2 in a small area, HOW HAS THIS WORLD NOT COLLAPSED. He struggles to fight this enemy because somehow despite learning over a hundred basic spells and mastering a legendary magic, he has not even attempted to learn high level magic, like you know, the kind a normal mage would learn, inbetween basic and legendary... Ok then, not bad enough for you? He spends every waking moment learning and practicing magic yet SOMEHOW he doesnt now about MULTIPLE types of magic that most commoners or atleast adventurers know about.

There is an extreme unclarity about his memories of his past life to the point of me not even being sure for a while that this is an isekai (could be translators fault but even so the main character seems to act like his past doesnt exist).

There is also the problem with the separation between item box spell and another world spell. He uses his item box spell to drain a lake of all its water, it also absorbs the fish and plant life in the pond as it says he chooses for only living things to come out of his box, but literally 8 chapters later the another world spell is described as an item box but with limited space and can hold living things, it also directly says item box cant hold living things. This may seem petty but I dont think ive ever seen such an obvious plot-hole that even i, someone who didnt see any plot-holes in jojo until the second viewing, could easily see on the first read.

There are many other problems with this novel but I think ill stop here, too bad my first novel review had to be about a novel that made me feel like this rather than one I love but eh what can ya do. <<less

The writing walks on the fine line between repeating things over and over again or not explaining how something works at all, but its not that there is nothing happening.

You are stuck with a repeated comment being shoved to you or the MC just forgetting something that happened in the same chapter without that much plot going on to explain his slip.
He is getting an education... kinda... as a magician so you might expect him to be knowledgeable on the topic even if he lacks common sense... Nah, you... more>> see the MC being ignorant over stuff that could be inferred even if you aren't familiar with it. There is not much else to say... Core cliches in place, the MC is not only dense he is even dumb, he gets some girls as companions out of nowhere, blablabla. The novel is ok, if you like the genre it can be used as bulk that it's just there..... but you should do other stuff...
The translation is better than the novel itself.... He/She sometimes feels like he also dislikes the writing that the author uses to some extent.
I would advice against this novel. Yet I do read it.... <<less

A lowly-educated middle-aged man from a backward Third World country got transmigrated to a fantasy world that has magic, into the body of the fifth son of a high-ranked noble. MC promptly found out about the said magic, and started to learn them. MC apparently is really talented with magic. And actually, nothing really happened yet.

The only interesting thing about this novel is the absolute fact that the MC isn't from Japan. So, if you want to see how a Japanese author wrote about a non-JP MC (highly likely African)... more>> doing his thing in a fantasy world, then this novel is for you.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ purely because of the MC former nationality back then on Earth. <<less

The translators did a really good job! I'll even give them full points for accuracy and consistency.

However, I have mixed feelings about the author... and the plot. The MC has a lot of potential — magic, sure, but he only does what he was told by everyone around him. It's like he's not thinking at all, and he's so easy to influence. In short, he got no backbone or smh. The author seems confused with the flow of their own story.

What s*upidity did I just read ? Instead of doing anything he just summons a spirit and has them do things and thats his magic ? Fine I get the elements part but don't get the way its used here, it just beats the point of actually learning any other magic just summon the elements and have them do it. The MC knows a lot of things but doesn't even know what prime numbers are ? Going further hes in backward magic world and is still thinking on how he's... more>> going to survive, By survive I mean financially. (-_-)

The MC is different from the original host and nobody even felt he's acting different, that seems just a bit too sad. <<less

This novel is basically Hachinan tte, Sore wa Nai Deshou! With 90% less political talk.

below is a comparison of the two.

Spoiler

In Hachinan tte, Sore wa Nai Deshou! The MC is the son of low rank failing noble house the same as this novel.

Both are also so far down the line they are not even in position to inherit the house.

Both are super talented in magic and meet a master in the woods near their mansion.

Both use their magic to make stuff secretly for money like salt.

Both had their fathers try to defeat a dragon in the the forest in their territory but fail.

Both become adventurers then gain a higher rank of nobility than their parents without doing much.

Both have a jealous older brother who does something s*upid that the MC's have to clean up.

I can keep going but you get the jist, they are the same novel but some rewording.

Interesting setting but the writting itself feels too half assed. Way too fast of the pacing that a lot of the explanations or set up is lost.

MC does impossible magic then peanut gallery act surprise but after a few sentences they act as if its normal shit.

While the translator did a good job and was trying their best the novel itself was a bit nonsensical to me so I gave up with it good to much for me I appreciate the translators hard work but while I like fiction I don't want to waste my time reading garbage.

Sorry if I was being rude.

It's a bit slow isekai with it's own vibe/flavor. At the start his experiments are a bit boring but not too annoying.

If you keep in mind that he really likes magic and want to be stable from financial point of view (not as villager but as rich person) he is rather logical

MC is a bit too lucky so I'm concerned that story will have too much plot aromr in later chapters

It's... fine. It's not unreadable (asada translations did great, I'm only criticizing the author themself), but there's only one character that seems interesting at all, but they hardly talk. ... more>>
Spoiler

I'm talking about the dragon that was sealed

[collapse]
Honestly the TL notes on asada translations were about as interesting as the story itself, feel free to interpret that as you will.

While I say it's not unreadable it's not particularly good. There's next to no information given about the world, and things that change a lot between settings (such as magic) are given no explanations so the reader is left guessing how the world works. Even if explanations were given, it'd likely not make a difference as the author contradicts themselves frequently and seems to make changes to rules on a whim.

Frankly I wouldn't recommend this, but if you're really bored and have a few hours to kill; go for it I guess. <<less

I like the story so far, but I must say..

.. MC is an utter idiot!

He used to be an old man, right? So, why is he always revealing everything immediately to everyone around? In what world did he live up to now? Paradise with no evil people around? He is so naive it makes me scream.

He revealed everything to the maid, to his indifferent father, to a complete stranger in the woods, to a complete stranger girl in the guild, to some strange noble he saw for the first in... more>> his life.. Is he even sane?

I am sorry, I said I like the story so far, so I am gonna shut up for now and try to read some more chapters.. <<less
