Having transmigrated into the world of romance novels 18 years ago, Leticia has become a celebrity in high society.

After incessantly attending gatherings and balls every day, she finally embarked on a sweet romance with the ideal man she had dreamed of.

“I thought roses might be getting a bit dull… So, I remembered the tea leaves you mentioned before, Lady. Do you like them?”

Not the typical leading man of a romance novel, be it the tsundere Crown Prince, the stoic Duke of the Northern Territories, or the world’s most powerful dark mage. He’s just an ordinary civil servant.

Always attentive to my needs, this adorable man whose face turns red just by holding hands with me—how could he not be charming?

Even in the midst of a busy routine, he want to make time for enjoyable dates, but there are adversaries appearing to hinder this love.

“I’m sorry, Letty. The prince asked me to work overtime today…”

“No, why overtime again? You said today would be a regular working day!”

The Crown Prince who assigns overtime just because he’s exchanged greetings with the original female lead!

The female lead’s brothers who pick a fight, claiming he harbored ill intentions after exchanging a few words with the original female lead!

Get a grip, you people.

I think I'm going to drop this, which is unfortunate because I think the ML is really rare in the RoFan genre - where he's kind and shy but not to the point of being a puppy/loyal dog. It's nice to see a guy who's actually nice to everyone in general rather than just to the FL. Unfortunately, the pacing is messy and I'm not super absorbed in the plot as there's no overarching goal, so I'm okay with stopping here.

Pros:

    • Interesting ML, he has character growth (which FL helps with!)
    • Great family dynamics - this novel has one of the best relationships between siblings I've seen; they bicker with each other, like to shift family matters to one another, but also care for each other deeply you mess with one of them, the entire family unites to bring your downfall. Not only does the FL have good brothers and sisters (and cousins who are so close they're seen as siblings), but the ML also has a good brother despite having tr*shy parents which was so unexpected and nice to see;;?
    • FL with conviction
    • FL treads the balance of keeping the ogFL and ogVillainess at arms' length, where they're not enemies but not BFFs
    • FL and ML decide to get together without dragging it out needlessly
Cons:

    • The writing includes a lot of unnecessary conversations of which I can see that the author is familiar with business, but they don't really add anything to the story if they were just summarized or skipped altogether. There's also a lot of talk between the leads of desserts but it's rather boring to read through, even though I appreciate the effort to build a foundation for chatting between the two
    • A lot of events could be cut out of the story and the pacing would be much better - I'm glad they cut the academy arc where it was but a lot of chapters before that could be removed as well - I'm not sold on reading another 200 chapters of this (383 total chapters?)

MC reincarnated into the world of a rofan novel as a miscellaneous noble character. She's familiar with rofan from her past life and knows of common rofan pitfalls like "trying to hook up the female and male leads only for the male lead to obsess over her instead" and the importance of trying to act like a proper noble without trying to completely break societal norms. Also, being from a family almost completely uninvolved with the original female lead's family, we see an outsider's perspective on just how much of... more>> a pain in the ass an overbearing tyrant duke family obsessed with their daughter/sister would be. Because of these things, the MC acts in a logical and reasonable way without making obviously terrible decisions like the main characters of other rofan novels.

The first arc is the "child/going to the academy to interact with other nobles" arc. Putting aside the fact that no one acts like the 12/13 year-olds that they are supposed to be, nor does anyone treat them like they're that young, the arc isn't boring, makes for good worldbuilding in both showing and telling, and also doesn't last like 75% of the novel. There's a time skip to the MC's debut in noble society at the age of 18 so she can actually do things and have agency as an adult instead of being stuck as a small child for most of the story.

The ML only shows up a couple of times in the first arc and only starts to have more of a presence after the MC debuts. As of chapter 46, he and the MC have only actually met each other twice? I think?? So he and the MC aren't officially together yet, though the MC is interested in him and starting to pursue him. The romance doesn't happen right away is what I'm saying, though it is being set up to happen nicely and naturally.

5/5 because I like the implementation of "genre savvy MC just trying to live well after being transported into a novel world" - many other novels try to be this but the MC falls into obvious traps anyway (like never being able to avoid the main characters/attracting the attention of the obsessive, overbearing, stalker male lead, etc) but this MC avoids a lot of the things that irk me about those novels. I do think that she's a little to genius-y in the way that she analyzes every little detail in social situations in a way that is unrealistically observant and insightful, but that's not a huge deal to me. <<less

Okay so I was super excited for this one, but the writing fell a little flat for me.

I like the MC. Leticia is smart, strongminded, and actually tries to avoid all the rofan tropes. This last part is important to me because I've read so many rofans of MCs saying they'll avoid the plot only to get hypnotized by the mls or let their base personalities/characters get in the way of >survival<.

I also really love the ML. Ezekiel is sweet and COMPETENT. I definitely have a competency kink.

Honestly, I love... more>> the interactions between the MC and ML. Two of the scenes had me kicking my feet and squealing in delight. My problem is that they're too FEW. Over 110 chapters in and the MC and ML have only interacted about 5 times. What is UP with that? I like slow burn but we are literally trudging through mud.

Also, the author definitely could have condensed some parts like the scandal misunderstanding and getting ready for the debut. So many one-dimensional side characters. I would have preferred the cultivation and growth of a few.

And I enjoy political intrigue but often we are barraged with a wall of text and ngl I definitely skimmed and still feel I'm in the know so that part could definitely be condensed.

I do like how supportive her family is in both family matters and business.

Overall, if the pace doesn't pick up soon, I'm gonna drop this fic. Honestly, may drop the fic as soon as the MC and ML finally get together. Everything else is just too much.

Translation-wise, it's more than decent enough to read. Definitely a few gender/pov issues, but still comprehensible. <<less
