the first thing he said when contacting the FMC was to have an affair with him, God, he's also dumb the FMC looks to be the one doing all the planning and thinking of ideas to get revenge while all he cares is about now is that he wants to have s*x with her just so he can get at his cheating gf and ap ap. Not to mention he already told his other friend about the affairs despite being told to keep it between themselves and I dislike that he changed the subject when she ask him about that point. I just hope he gets better and uses his god damn brain and stop looking so pathetic and useless

Personally wouldn't bother with trying to make them fall for their respective partners even more, sounds tedious and lot's of work, I would just collect evidence pf their affairs and let the whole world knows of it. All the videos, images and messages they have gathered <<less

One thing to note: Author has already stated that the LN and WN will have differences in the story. A difference he explicitly talked about (but not in too much detail) are character personalities. Well, I'm sure they didn't change too much in any case.

Next note: It has been a while since the author updated the WN. They stated that while they're busy with the LN (and other matters), they'll eventually update it.

Alright, on to the main review.

It's not an overly difficult novel to read. By difficult, I mean how... more>> the author wrote it, and the subject matter of the story. For one, the author had a pretty good flow (at least, for Volume 1 of the WN). Some discrepancies here and there, and some weird dialogue choices, but it doesn't detract too much from the story. Secondly, the NTR in the title is just bait. If you go to Kakuyomu and look at some of the author's musings, they said that although it has NTR in the title, they really intended to just write a lighthearted romantic comedy.

The only gripe I would say I have for it is that Volume 2 was pretty weak. By weak, I mean it as 'the hold' of the story. Compared to Volume 1, it just isn't as engaging. I really do appreciate the moments Yuu and Touko had though. Another would be the slightly weak characterization. Yuu, the MC, could stand to be more of a well-rounded character. Next, the leads' bestfriends. I need more personality for them aside from being the yes-i-am-the-bestfriend-of-the-mc-and-i-am-overly-helpful type. Next, the 'villains' Kamokura and Karen. Kamokura was introduced as this charismatic mf, but he really just turns out to be your run-of-the-mill disgusting character. Karen is this stereotypical bit*h too. I mean, nothing wrong with cliches, but I'm pretty tired of them.

I really, really enjoyed Touko's character though. I may just be biased towards beautiful, older-type characters with dark-colored hair and excellent style, but her personality and brains are as good as her looks too. <<less

Title/premise is only really relevant in the first arc around chapter 50ish. I thought this was going to be a spicy story about NTR but it's actually just a wholesome story. After the first arc, it's your typical ROMCOM with all the tropes. Not that there's anything bad with that, just that the story went into a generic direction after the first arc.

MC is pretty ordinary, maybe a bit underwhelming in brains and confidence. FL did most of the thinking and planning on the revenge plot, though I personally felt... more>> she over complicated it. She's pretty much the dominant one in the relationship.

The only thing MC really has got going for him so far is being a good cook and the sincerity of his feelings for FL.

Being able to tell the two potential love interest that he's in love with FMC instead keeping them hanging on after finding out about their feelings is a plus. (Doesn't really deter them however)

Honestly yes it's not the best written but a lot better than some similar revenge stories, the likeable characters are quite likeable and the hate-able characters; hate-able. The plot moves along a little slowly for my tastes considering how the revenge actually goes down but at the same time it's pretty cathartic, especially Karen's; not so much the FML's ex. The story tends to focus A LOT more on his side of the revenge rather than the FMC's but honestly she's the bigger scum of the two but not by... more>> much. <<less

Okay, the story itself is quite decent and I love author's concept of revenge on cheating girlfriend. The fML is okay and I love her personality but the frustration is MC who look inferior when solving problems and when do actions is pathetic... Could he use some of his brain's cells and not just always put his feelings first? How unintelligent and uncool like how could he just suddenly approach girl that not his gf and ask s*x just after know his gf cheating and when MC call his gf... more>> when she doing affair despite fML said before to more careful... That's why I didn't like st*pid mc <<less

To be honest, the writing of this novel is decent, and the relationships are somewhat developed. I think the relationships lack depth thus giving the reader a sense of not really getting an emotional pull from them. I enjoy the premise of the first arc and while the buildup was pretty good, I think the ending execution was done poorly. For the second arc there was an immediate incident with the male MC with no prior build up. Toward the end of the arc there is a chapter explaining why... more>> it occurred. I think that chapter should have gone at the beginning of the second arc, the chapter I'm talking about explains what happens with the female MC and her family when they go on vacation. The rhythm of this novel is very lacking because of this and was off putting when I was reading it. To me it felt like the author was adding unnecessary drama just for dramas sake... While I admit I was expecting/hoping for there to be more a slower more peaceful pace after the first arc. I thought the main female lead and the MC would be navigating new relationship issues and the surrounding rumors from the ending incident with the first arc. Especially with how bitter the two antagonists were in the first arc I think there could have been more development between the antagonists and the leads.

All in all, I think this is well written but has issues with rhythm, consistency, and emotional depth of the characters. I would have given this a lot higher of a rating if I actual felt a stronger emotional semblance from the characters. I would give it 2.5 stars out of 5. I'm not totally bored of this, and I don't regret reading it. Although, this novel will take its place among novels in my "subpar stuff to read when bored" list. That's about as high as I rate it. <<less

Theres something about the tags its alittle bit lacking you would thought that this novel is a wholesome but its alittle bit darker than that
