My Fiance is in Love with My Little Sister

Aah, again?

My fiance was gazing intently at my charming younger sister.

When I saw the blaze that lit up in those cold eyes, I was assaulted by deja vu.

My fiance had been in love with my younger sister even in the last life.
There was nothing I could do but watch.

And, by some karma, I was someone who kept returning to that exact moment.

I really did like this book a lot; then again that might make me a masochist cause the book was basically just straight sadness till like chapter 50 😅 the first section of the book covers her previous lives and her experiences and its just depressing. Like a serious downward spiral each time... more>>
Spoiler

until Crow shows up; geez, I love the guy deeply after what this novel has gone through 😭

[collapse]
but it also really helps you understand her growth and viewpoint as a character

There were also a couple of sections with different perspectives that were magnificent! Perfect crying material, but they help you understand their characters better. They're just good so read it! 😤
Spoiler

the two big perspectives were the fiance's and Crow's

There is actually a happy ending (to the first season or just the main story??? I don't know how much more of the after-the-ending writing there is going to be honestly cause it's still ongoing) after all that painfulness, if you've made it that far you're already so emotionally invested it's literally the most amazing, relieving scene 😭 <<less

It's a roller coaster ride y'all. This takes a lot of your energy, my eyes were very red. When I read this 47 weeks ago (I checked my facebook comment), I was feeling nostalgic.

This ain't your typical happily ever after. This is about entanglements, failing to fight against fate, and finally, finally after a long time of being forced in the same set of absurdities, our gal's on her way to obtaining freedom.

There's just so many twists that you can't help but be amazed by how heart-wrenching the author can... more>> make the story. The thing is, the way she narrated is long but it's to the point that she is making sure that the fact the main character was still damaged and affected by the lives she experienced. It's very negative and plain sad. Her constant self-deprecreciation and the way she try to hold herself strong because no one is there for her??? I cried lots. I am so, so sorry for the that family. Duties can't help you be excused for wrong doings but it can explain the whys.

Further comments and spoilers:

Spoiler

The author played us all. They had been dropping hints left and right about Soleil not being able to control himself. I once thought, oh hey, maybe he isn't that bad since it was basically forced on him after the few more runs. After a long struggle, the degree went down but I just can't stop hating Soleil. His fickleness and rashness hurt our Ilya, you know!

The audacity of this white-eyed wolf, Sylvia! I know she was influenced a bit by her surroundings but bruh! You are knowingly letting your sister of many years, suffer for your happiness? I- I won't wish you to die, I'll wish you would be reminded of what you did for the rest of your life.

Ilya got her happy ending in a sense that she finally accepted the truth, reunited with Crow, said her piece and died. It was not said whether there would be a new rerun but she already gave up on Sylvia and Soleil. There would no longer be trying to stay with the two. The flow gave a lot of questions since there were lot of concept introductions that looks like would not be answered any time soon.

Being happy is very subjective, for Ilya who already suffered a lot, being able to rest is not a bad idea. It is a haven. Without worries, without expectations and no more responsibilities. No more questions, no more hurt. She also received the sad truth but the truth nonetheless.

But for us readers who are detached of that life, merely audience of her life, we are very miffed about the fact that she do not have time to be truly happy. A life where she can get a man who would love her. It's already achieved. Crow loves her. She understood that and is satisfied that "in this world, I was loved by Crow".

Do you know what is BS? The fricking princess. She's the freaking root. All of Ilya's suffering was a result of the princess' denouncing of responsibilities towards Sylvia. :≫ Her knight and her maid is living just to fulfil her wishes. I don't know about Soleil because there was an introduction to magic but a fellow reader say that might just be him relieving what already happened after Ilya died in their first life. :≫ I was very confused at first why the readers seemed to ship Crow and Ilya at first since it looked like Crow is just provoking Ilya and mocking her but oh well, reading his perspective just shows a misunderstanding in another level.

The epitome of villain. :) No, not the ass father or the mentally ill mother. It's the fricking princess who wants to not receive the consequences of her actions. Bit like mentioned, it doesn't excuse the the two. It just feels like a pity because their loyalty pulled so many bs actions. They became very cruel.

Don't take the Reviews lightly.

I did that and I don't necessarily regret it because this is one of the best Angst stories I've ever read but being a little prepared for how much it would hurt would've been better.

That's the best advice I can give to anyone who wishes to read this masterpiece. This is not for the faint hearted because this story will take your heart, rip it to shreds, put a duct tape on it and then continue the process again and again.

When the reviews say the angst... more>> is real believe me it is. It's a beautiful story, one which will make your heart ache but it will also mend it with the emotional maturity of the MC as she grows and the hope that one day she will get her own happy ending.

Personally I believe that the story has ended and this new arc is basically a wrap up of all the concepts and characters to give them a befitting epilogue.

You don't necessarily need that and that's why if you only wish to take up completed works, I think this one would fit the bill perfectly. <<less

Read it all in 7 hours while bawling my eyes out. I'm terribly crying but oh my God this story hits you in the gut with the feels. I first read the manga and got interested in the novel. I'm not an emotional person and normally I don't read tragedy but this totally made me unable to stop even though I was crying and frustrated with the constant pain.

The only reason I can tolerate and enjoy it is because Illya really does grow slowly but surely and Crow too is... more>> given a suitable development. These two lonely idiots need each other.

Of course I'm still interested in the mystery of Illya's constantly being sent back and Soliel's weird behavior from his pov.

So I do recommend people trying this but be ready for heavy feels <<less

Okay so basically I finished the novel and all I could say is

What.

That's it?

Spoiler

There are ALOT of things that was needed to be answered like what was the reason of that repeating cycle of suffering? What causes such mischief? Don't just give me that happy ever after with crow because both of them are lonely like what about that dude (Male lead) that has a dream about being the 3rd person ans is seeing how badly he was hurting the female lead and he can't even do anything about it? Like how the f*ck did that hapoen in the first place? It's as if he was controlled by some unknown force that he was unable to say or do the things he wanted. It made me ask myself that what if her husband was controlled this whole time? Since it was the first time we were seen on his perspective of things and it looks like he's being bound by something.

So yeah all I could say is that I am VERY UNSATISFIED with the ending and even though she ended uo with Crow (which is what we all hoped for), ION LIKE HOW IT WAS DONE.

I LOOOOVVVEEE angst!!!!!! 1/3 through and I literally couldn't stop crying; had to keep blinking/squeezing my eyes coz my tears kept getting in the way lol

Basically if the song Heather was a book, it would be this, but sadder and more in depth

What I love [few tiny spoils]:

Spoiler
  • there's no "bad guy", don't like the ML, but there's no one out to get her, except maybe life
  • no SUPER DENSE characters, they do have "is this love or an obsession?" moments tho
  • how strong but fragile she is at the same time
  • again angst: it shows how she slowly starts losing hope
    • no easy fix "ik the future so I can change mine"... every time she tries to change it, something gets in the way
  • she doesn't end up with the ML and gets a happy ending with someone else

Just finished the first arc I guess, so chapter 40, which is the same title as the novel, so I’m not sure if the next bit is going to be connected to this arc or not (but I hope so). Anyway, I highly recommend this, however, only if you want to cry your eyes out every. single. chapter. I find the writing style really interesting because it blends time together, and you’ll be reading one paragraph in the future and by the last sentence of the same paragraph you’re in... more>> the past. I think it has one of the most unique writing styles and premises I’ve ever come across on here. The translation I read was Nocta’s, and while there’s some grammar and spelling errors, overall they did an amazing job translating such a complex novel! Thank you for your hard work translator! Anyway, idk, I’m not sure I’m ready for the next arc if it’s going to cause me to be dehydrated from endless tears. (But still 100 recommend if you want something interesting... and also emotionally traumatizing—- I mean, complex. Yeah, that’s what I meant) <<less

Reading this, as it goes on, becomes tedious. Every chapter gives more insight into Ilya and all her personality intricacies. And the other characters are explained bit by bit over a loooong time. So it's definitely a read for those who aren't seeking any kind of resolution anytime soon. It's a bit like a slice of life story of a depressed girl going about in an endless cycle of misery.

Other than the tediousness, it also has a negative factor of the main character herself sticking herself in an inescapable mindset... more>> where she bases all her actions on the 'hope of favor' of others. She endlessly bases her happiness on "if my parents loved me, if my sister understood her actions that hurt me, if my fiance loved me as I love him, if others saw me as a kind loving sister, if..., if..., if..., ect."

I understand that is what can happen often in real life with circular thinking, but it's become so prevalent and part of the norm of this book, that it's as if she can't possibly de-attach herself from the effects of other's thoughts and actions. Just simply waiting for others to finally change their opinions of her or act in another way. When they clearly never will. Maybe because I'm just a different person from her, and my outlook on life is different, but her perspective of everything and herself is a bit tiring. At some point, I'd simply stop caring. But of course, almost because of destiny/fate itself, she can't possibly move on for some reason. Which I think is a point of the story, but it's just such a grinding muddling through her constant dashed hopes that I'm stopping for now.

It's well written, and has good storytelling. I'm just tired of it. <<less

honestly creativity wise and the story engagement is LACKING... though certain points are handled well such as:

when that shot soleil arc was introduced which served maybe two purposes which are to garner sympathy for him and probably would be addressed in the finale. The arc would also serve as a decent explanation as to why Ilya should’ve acted differently... which means that no matter how much she struggles the alternate personality of soleil’s would work against her

well anyways this does a great job in wrenching out anguish and tears.. it’s not that deep though and absolutely perfect excuse to cry.. the plot is a bit reaching but I was not here for the plot... aha ha <<less

Well, I didn't read every chapter yet. But, out of curiosity I go ahead and read c55 while I'm still reading c10. And now after c15 I really confused right now about the ML. Because at the end of c55 it seems like FML will end up with Crow, and the final death of the FML, not that very clear, all of that really makes me happy!

But then! C15 change everything. Somehow, this chapter tells me that the one that the ML truly loved is the FML. And there's some... more>> mysterious power make him say those word and make him act like he is in love with the little sis.

When I read all of that, I what like, OMG! OMG! OMG! You do not do that to me. Oh f*ck! What am I supposed to feel now?!!

In the end, after clam down, I somehow think that maybe, just maybe, that Crow is the son??? Because he only showed up after the life where she gave birth and died.

Well, I still haven't read c16-54, so, it just my thought. Hope that everything will turn out well TT~TT

P/s: I'm not really good at writing in English so I'm sorry in advanced if I have wrong somewhere. <<less

This novel is very well written and the translations are also done excellently. Be warned though if you are to read this novel be sure to prepare a ton of tissues and medicine to clear clogged nose cause I assure you, you would be crying buckets of tears.

Spoiler

Also you should prepare something for heartache and anger cause you would probably want to pummel MC's fiance and family to death

I'm not an emotional person but after reading 50+ chapters I almost cried. This novel is basically a tragedy story with literally no happiness where the MC suffers over and over again. The beginning half is quite slow paced and very repetitive and the second half is a lot more unique and interesting.

Depressing but hopefully the payoff will be worth it. Most of the story is basically the girl getting tortured (well mentally mostly) over and over again so if you can't handle stuff like that don't read it. Translation is good I suppose.

I walked up to the third bow and my God how I cried is a good story. But I do not have the courage to continue, the main character is tied to this love without future and extremely suffocating. Author beg for an ending she be happy, no one was born just to suffer dear! May her fiancé stay with her younger sister and she finds someone who will really value her, runs away with Al or Crow just can't go on like this! Anyway I admire who will continue... more>> reading, this story did not enchant me as I would like and I'm not masochistic to continue suffering with the main character! But for those who liked, can continue reading super support ? <<less

Good angst and tragedy for majority of the story. It was enjoyable 75% of the time.

But the ending and progression weren't thought out. Author added characters and characterizations that never went anywhere. Ending was unfortunately a hackjob, imo.

I cried for the first part of the story. This is a pure tragedy so for those who have a good time reading other's suffering this is totally for you guys. Just dont forget tissues or handkerchief (for your tears, trust me)

So, first part of the story (ch 1 until ch40) the story in the MC perspective. How she need to keep repeating seeing her loved one falling for her sis as she always return back in time whenever she died. Its a tragic alright, I mean, she tried... more>> many method to change her fate that its all painfull to read.

People said that she is a bad narrator but for me this factor is what makes you more immerse in MC world as you see it through her eyes along side her feelings. Im totally rooting for this girl and still believe she deserve so much better.

Then second part is in a perspective of another MC, a male. I dont want to spoil it so you gonna read it to find out who. So in his perspective you will experience another roller coaster of emotion. Tho I cant said much since his part is still half way through.

All and all, this a great reading. I really enjoy the freaking up and down (mostly down) ride. You need to shut in and read each and every word to throughly get the atmosphere.

Spoiler

her sister is an ass. Why would you sleep with your brother in-law and have his baby, like wth. She said she loves MC but why did she did that behind her sis back. She act like she sick and all but at this point that fact had become excuse.

Also, the fiance, soleil, idk what to say. He truly took MC for granted. He should told her his true feeling instead of having an afair. A piece of as*hole right there. They both really didnt deserve MC.

The second part is Crow pov.
