My Fiance is in Love with My Little Sister

Aah, again?

My fiance was gazing intently at my charming younger sister.

When I saw the blaze that lit up in those cold eyes, I was assaulted by deja vu.

My fiance had been in love with my younger sister even in the last life.
There was nothing I could do but watch.

And, by some karma, I was someone who kept returning to that exact moment.

This story is... it is something else. I have never read a story that made me feel this way about its characters. Each chapter was intense and filled with emotion. The final arc of Ilya is quite heartrending, as is her sister's. I don't know whether to love or hate this novel, but it's author is definitely someone to be admired for their writing skills, that is assured. This story is special.

This story is so, so good. The poor girl (our main character) just keeps on trying to save herself, to somehow change the inevitable fate and achieve her happiness. But no matter what she does, it's fruitless.

Her story is simply depressing, all the dark aspects are so beautifully felt, you feel raw pain for her. I'm so sad, so heartbroken for the poor girl. Please don't let my feelings keep you from reading this. If you do, you'll be missing out on a lot. Read it and love it for... more>> yourself.

I wish for her happiness. ❤ <<less

A beautifully tragic tale that pulls at your heart. How no matter what you do, the person you live your life for never once takes notice and how the heart is crushed by it.

A shame that it's hard to follow and figure out exactly what is going on due to the weird way the different translators are handling this.

So I have read the novel till where it is translated. It's a great novel, as many other reviews said you can feel other MC's pain and suffering. And it's very heartbreaking.

I know the chapters can be long and the pain seem to endless, I need to tell you this in the latest chapters, the MC begins to find the reason. The reason? Yes the reason so as to why she gets blamed every time her sister dies. There is a deep thing ig behind everything. (This is the feeling... more>> that I got from reading this novel) I won't say any more so as to not spoil and another thing is 'Crow' is an Important character.

At last I would say you should bear with the pain and continue reading. And that this novel is wonderful. <<less

This novel is absolutely beautiful. I have a hard time explaining just how unique not only the concept of this story is but the writing style, the characters, and the plot of this story is. The author took their time with this story and it's quite obvious. I'm used to the setting that this story is in. It's a popular trope of Japanese light novels to have their characters in a fantasy land reminiscent of medieval Europe but I've never seen it quite like this.

The main character of this novel... more>> is engaged to someone that she loves but who does not love her. Instead the man loves her sister. She's lived countless lives trying to change her fate but every time she dies she comes back to the moment he meets her sister and falls in love and it breaks her heart every single time.

As she lives countless lives we watch as she self destructs, tries to change things, gives up, and etc. It's tragic and sometimes feels like torture. But that's her life. She lives a life that looks like and feels like hell. I don't want to say anything more out of fear that I might spoil some great plot points but please read this novel. It's definitely worth it in the end. <<less

Goddamn it the translator kept mocking me as a masochist reader and I was so, so angry that they're not wrong. Only a masochist would persevere reading this after the first 3 arcs. But I just kept reading, partly because I want the MC to achieve her deserved happiness, partly because the plot was pretty intriguing. It's not just your typical, simple "return to the past, fix my mistakes, have a happily ever after jalala". It's not some light-hearted story with a mix of despair like the usual stories I... more>> would enjoy. The despair seems to overflowing in this novel, not only with the MC but some supporting characters as well, to some extent.

Treat the above rambling as my warning to you. But let me assure you, the happiness would surely be there.

Never had I shed a tear while reading through her misery, only pain and frustration. I'm not a person of tears you see. But when I read "that part", I teared up a little. Because at long last, at long last, I could see a glimpse of hope and happiness. A happy ending for her and "him".

(Only a personal preference, but I found Conturbatio and Decretum to be a very fitting soundtrack for reading this) <<less

I've already finished reading this and if you want to get hurt and just cry. You need to read this.

This story is repetitive from the start and as the chapter progresses until the end you'll just question yourself why you read it.

Once in a while a novel like this should be in your list when you want to be alone and when you just want to cry.

Don't think of anything while reading this

The way this ended really made me cry. It was as if she doesn't have any way out of the pain that she just took it all in. Like damn. Why.

It was angsty and I was prepared for that since I was trying to read stories with "villainess noble girls" and something like that.

Through the angst, FL does make some sort of progress with each revival and finding out the bottom reason for the way her situation was.

I stopped by c55 since that's where the translator seems to have stopped and where FL's arc pretty much ends at a positive note.

What brought the rating to 3 stars was how the FL was too much of a "punching bag", but at... more>> least she does find a romance and peace ending with a different partner. <<less

Though the writing itself is very well done this premise is horrid. And boring you thru your tears.

It is like 50shades of Little Mermaid's (HCA) Groundhog Day.

At least the Little Mermaid was only forced to see her trainwreck life once, and after she died was given reprieve to be a daughter of air for 300 years to redeem her foolish mistake of being martyr of one-side love (My dad expalined it as a moral story and also was a fantasy fable of how guardian angels are created. If you are... more>> naughty and make your guardian cry her time is added)

Maybe things change after 100 chapters.?. If it is more than 200 it is a wasted of EVERYone's grey matter <<less

When I first read this, just out of bored so I don't have high expectation but---Thanks to this novel I've become traumatised, heartwrecking story, helplessness.... The sad, the loves, the hatred... This is a story that I can't bring myself to reread again because I don't want to feel the tragedy and sympathy again...

The materials used for this story are:

  • Hopelessness
  • Heartwrenching pain
  • Depressing events
  • Helplessness
  • Etc.
Hope is something that is given to the MC again and again. Only for it to be destroyed.

Different situations all ends up with a heart break and melancholy.

Things just doesn't go well no matter what MC did. Whether she is good or evil.

This is really just truly purely depressing.

The only good thing about it was the MC found her happy ending. The satisfaction you'll get after everything she went through. Only the words “Finally~” is all I could say

There is one thing you should know about this novel before you start reading: 8.5/10

DO NOT READ THIS IF YOU DO NOT LIKE TRAGEDY.
Its not a fairy tale, the situations in hand do not get better because of a charming prince or a random miracle by any means.
The Story is simple, the MC's sister who has falls in love with her fiancee. Her sister is like the bird in a golden cage, never seen the outside world.
If this was a normal fairy tale our MC would be the evil sister who tries everything she could to prevent this from happening. But its not, the story will reveal more and more details of our pitiful MC's life as she goes trough the suffering. And her agony that is her story doesn't end when she dies. She goes back to the exact moment where her fiancee and her sister met, just so her heart can be broken once more.

Every new life is worse then her last. You'll come to understand her feelings, you'll admire her resolve.

And nothing will be left untouched everything will be explained and this, this is why... this story is so great.

I couldnt help my urge so I read the raws. And im gobsmacked on how it ended. Nevertheless, I dont think any other ending would have suited it better. It was truly a forlorn and desolate ending, evoking the tears of mine to fall out of pity for the poor girl.

Loads of people are reviewing it negatively- however, I believe this story really is a great piece of work. Rather than being repetitive, like people suggest, it rather prolongs the feeling of never being able to escape fate; this creates... more>> the cruel depictions of love because not every romance is positive and heart-warming. This story focuses on the difficulty of watching the one you love fall in love with another one of your loved ones. She doesnt want it to happen but cannot stop it either. So she perseveres. Yet, every life, she suffers extreme pain and up until her very last life, she doesn't turn int a lunatic bit*h despite how much viciousness she has experienced. I cried for her a couple of times- im not someone who cries easily either- but I felt so torn on how she conducted herself and looked out for her sister until her very last breath. Really heart-wrenching story. She really deserved love but because this is a tragedy and psychological story, there is no good ending... T-T <<less

The story is well built. You can feel the MC's heart break and you feel sorrow for her when she is betrayed. This is not a fluffy story. It's about heart break, betrayal and unrequited love written beautifully and in a way that you can genuinely sympathise. We can see how the MC Ilya matures. But at the same time I feel that the author could up the pace a bit. I've only read up to chapter 24 but it's starting to get slow now. The ML's pov made me... more>> think it would but nothing happened. I feel that if the story moves forward a bit instead of stagnating at the MC's suffering it might be better. But all in all it's a beautiful, well written novel. <<less

This is just angst, angst, angst. If you're looking for a tragic story about unrequited love to cry to, look no further than here.

The MC is stuck in a continuous loop; Everytime she dies, she returns to the day her fiance and sister fell in love. There's a lot of noble nelf sacrifical monlogues, which might not be everyone's cup of tea.

Things got pretty interesting when we saw some of the story from the ML's POV (previously, he was just sort of a douche for the plot, but there's more... more>> depth to him now). The MC acts very, very self sacrificial, though, and will NOT (or hasn't, yet) satisfy you with any badass, happy ending (light at the tunnel, so to speak).

Even so, this was a super enjoyable read for me! I cried ehehe ;; <<less

Holy f*ck! This it's by far one of the most sad histories I read in my life, but I'm so intrigued to know what happened so I keep reading it

I think we all can agree that the ML it's the worst kind of men in all ways and the protagonists it's trap in a cage made by her own feelings, the society and responsibilities that she has as a noble. I hope that she free herself from that shackles and find true happiness cus that excuse of a man and... more>> that two faced bit*h (her sister) will never change, the whole thing it's destined to failure since the beginning.

What makes me happy it's that's her fiance and her sister will never be together and be forever unhappy, I hope at least her fiance burn in hell!!!! <<less

Eternal suffering. This is how I would describe this story. Normally I like when MC suffers but then fights for themselves, stand up an reach happiness but here... MC suffers a lot, there was one point when I started to cry because it was so painful. And the author even shows those scenes from different POVs so we tend to return there from time to time. We are supposed to be at the HE part now but there is still some lingering fear of what is going on. And there... more>> is no divine retribution for those who caused her suffering at all. I hope the author would do something with this, at least Soleil should dream with all her lives, not just one.

*edit: The reviews are either 5 or 1 stars because with this novel, either you like or hate her neverending sufferings... At Ch62 I started to have the uncomfortable feeling that the author will use the unreliable narrator card, I hope that won't happen. <<less

Although I liked some parts of it, there were some things that I didn't like.

Since the beginning, this was never a revenge story, so if you are looking for one, I am sorry to say this, isn't it. It is more of a tragic story that sometimes, in my opinion, doesn't make sense.

At first, like the synopsis said she repeats and repeats, and although some say she isn't good enough because she doesn't try to do something. ... more>>
Spoiler

We later find out that she did try to run away but her family or the family of her fiancée would capture her. And the other time she did run away it was to end up in a brothel. And finally, when she showed signs that she wanted to run away they barred her windows.

[collapse]

What did disappoint me was the way the author described her MC as pathetic for still loving her fiancé. Maybe the MC just wanted to do it so that she wanted Someone's love, without carrying who it was, but when she didn't make it clear she just seemed pathetic for trying so many times.

Then in the second half, the author makes her MC more pathetic. We find out that her narrative is of course questionable since it's a first point of view.
Spoiler

Apparently she finds out that her mother was a princess' maid and she married the princess' knight (father), as a ploy so he wouldn't look at anyone else. The second daughter is the daughter of the father and the princess... of course, the mother (maid) of the MC loves the daughter of the princess more than her own and even tries to kill her daughter.

Then we find out that the mother poisoned the daughter of the princess because she couldn't "be seen" by anyone, in fact, she loved her so much that that's her way of protecting her, but that's just s*upid, you just have to change her color hair, etc. to hide her.

Then I call Bullsh@#t because the author makes it seem like it's the MC's fault for being selfish and not noticing anyone else's pain... even though she was the one that died more times and remembered everything. The MC thinks she traveled in time because she was selfish; she never noticed that her mother was in pain for giving birth to her, that her sister was having a hard life because she was being poisoned, and she never noticed that her father had a tragic love story that showed why her father loved the other daughter. Then the author invents this plot line where the MC just dies repeatedly because she didn't save, and she didn't sacrifice herself for her sister. This is reinforced by her finally having a happy ending when she does die, revive, but then has to leave to protect the identity of said sister. Oh for the cherry on top her sister marries MC's fiancé, and her family never finds out she revived. Her family just couldn't take the chances of endangering the other sister and they never took the chance to find out if she was still alive or not

[collapse]

Then we get this narrative from Fiancée's point of view that goes nowhere. The sister's conduct and her behavior are excused but she is never seen as, even a small portion, of a bad person.
Spoiler

No matter how loved, no matter how spoiled, or how ignorant, you can not think that it's alright to fall in love with your sister's fiancé and even have his baby while married to said sister. The author makes it seem like MC'S sister is the heroine of a book and everyone sacrifices everything for her happiness

[collapse]

It gets better when we do get to the ML's point of view and things are explained from his point of view, and
Spoiler

its not the fiancé
