For the longest time, I've wondered why this novel had an average even lower than 4 stars. Now that I've started reading this story, I think I can make a guess about what they were thinking when the previous readers gave such low ratings.

It's safe to assume that any reader who stumbles across this comparatively (and statistically) little known novel after reading the true pillars holding up the e-sports (not just online gaming) novels tag (ICDI, FOG, PUBG, Glory) have a specific archetype of novels that they're attracted to and... more>> have enjoyed, without fail, in the past. This novel is nothing like them.

In this story:

    1. the MC isn't supreme: the MC isn't like the mains from other e-sports novels; he isn't some undefeated god, he isn't some up and coming rookie, he's a down on his luck retired player, - who has made terrible decisions in his past and is reaping them now. Although,

      the blame doesn't like solely on him, the situation was terrible too.

    1. the relationship isn't stable from the get-go: the main pairing is already estranged to the point of ignoring each-other's existence, it doesn't really give off the feeling of harmony that people have come to expect from the average e-sports novel.
    1. the beginning is quite a downer: i'll admit- the story doesn't immediately start out happy. There is some dog-blood. The conflicts between the MC and ML are decidedly unresolved at the beginning and continue to stay that way for a while. the slow burn of it all aaaa
If any of the above mentioned things turn you away from reading this novel, I can only say one thing: you are missing out.

>The story starts off at a low point for the MC and it doesn't automatically go up from there; the MC has to work hard to gain even an inch from the ml.

>There is character development for the MC (and others) that's entirely believable; the characters don't suddenly gain a personality transplant at the whim of the author to uphold the plot together. The characters are well developed and actually fleshed out (using small instances of flashbacks, but that's forgivable for a story about exes).

>The author follows the show, don't tell technique of creative media. The reader has to pay attention to what's said and also what's not said.

>The personality traits and dispositions of the main characters are genuinely likeable and not otherworldly. They're people who've made mistakes and are working hard to make amends. The translation is well done and I am so excited to continue reading this story, it's getting 5 stars from me. <<less

Ahhhh the Plot is Just so well plotted that I Even thot its real storry ya know.. And I actually dont know if the translator is on hiatus or He/She stop updating.. Its Just Sad as it has been years and No update since.. I hope everythings al right..
