Overall, it's a good rebirth novel. The MC's past is vague, but the clear part where she gets betrayed and hurt again and again it's irrefutable. The same trope, family dead, friends betrayed (well, the part where she gets imprisoned and incapacitated to be kept as a pet it's a little unexpected). In all honestly, the zombie trope in a cultivation world kinda intrigued me, a lot. Also! ALSO! NO UNKILLABLE s*upid WHITE FAIRY LOTUS BISHES!! HORRAY!!! NO MISUNDERSTANDINGS! HOOOORAAAAY!!!!

*cough* Back to the main point.

MC is ruthless but still acts... more>> like a child sometimes. Her background's still a mystery. We only know that she was sent back in time by her masters (there's two), and she has a lot of hidden secrets in her inner domain.

I don't think this is a novel where the main focus is the cultivation aspect, it's more of a journey of redemption. All her past tragedies became a trauma and she has to overcome them. She eradicated all the possible obstacles whenever possible, no mercy given. She can be tolerant of anything but betrayal. MC is very OP, but not completely (if not where's the fun).

The ML, I mean, he's good, but I'm very picky when it comes to MLs. He knows boundaries, but also kind overstep them sometimes (lol). The MC is powerless because he's stronger than her, and also, he gives her free good stuff. The age gap is not too much (thank God), and I believe, ML has to do a little bit more because it kind seems like MC is about to friendzone him (lololololol). Though, she's subconsciously beginning to like him! Fighting ML! <<less

Seriously becoming one of my favorites, if you don't enjoy ruthless male and female leads and hate adorable interactions between the ML and FL then this isn't for you. Please don't rate this story down because it's not what you want.

Now onto a review for this. The story shown here is a very unique double lead setup where each is overpowered, prideful, ruthless and temperamental. I've often read stories where one leads it's into these, but this time its a pair and its amazing, the way ML enables the FL... more>> to be as vicious as possible is such a breath of fresh air.

As for the Arrogant Young Masters (AYM) ? Yes, they're here and they're great fodder, as the leads, almost never let anyone off after offending them. They also don't drag it out, when the AYM is insulting them or their family they are cripple as they speak, not waiting for the crowd to give a 15-page lecture on how terrible the MC is after hearing the BS this rando says.

Another breath of fresh air performed in this story is overpowered characters who don't hold back. The leads never are put into a dangerous spot because they were hiding their power, no letting themselves get injured to hide the fact that they can crush people levels above them like ants. They get tons of attention and they don't care, anyone picking a fight with them is going to die a painful death and hiding like rats to delay the arrival of these idiots is not the style of the lead.

As for negatives, well the FL is an adult reincarnated into her child self. The ML is interested in her for her icy reactions, ruthless personality and adorableness. If you find it hard to read the ML seeing her as being adorable and find it gross.... all while she just beat up and then drown a woman (who is trying to sell her sister off into s*avery) then I can only say I think you're missing the point. <<less

The female lead is wonderful (for the most part). Smart, powerful, determined. Despite the zombie premise, the story is interesting and moves along at a decent pace. And the male lead starts off well despite some heavy signs that he will turn out to be the cliche male lead in a fantasy cnovel.

Sadly around chapter 700 he fully devolves into this archetype who is cruel, violent, mu*derous, dismissive, tyrannical, mean & basically a full on mass mu*dering psychopath to anyone not the female lead; and possessive, irrationally jealous, & controlling,... more>> towards the female lead.

And the smart, capable, powerful female lead starts to do things more and more out of character, just because the author wants her to spend time with the male lead (like preferring to spend time with the male lead who she is only mildly affectionate towards, OVER seeing her family which she had not seen for 7 years despite them being her entire motivation at the start.

I dropped the novel at chapter 750 after the male lead goes psychotic and tries to kill a girl just because she was mildy rude to the female lead, then when her sect-mate tries to quit working for ML in solidarity, the ML has him beaten up and threatens to kill him & exterminate his entire family just because he does not want to work for him anymore. I am just having trouble seeing how the ML is different from a villain. The 2ML is a much better match to the female lead, but sadly in Fantasy CNovels with a female main character, psychotic male leads are the norm.

And of course alongside the traditional cliche psychotic male lead you have a bunch of cliche, irrational, entitled female support characters who fall deeply/delusionally in love at first sight, with the male lead despite his blatant cruelty to them, who are all mu*derously jealous of the female lead and insanely think the ML will love them if just the FL was not around. <<less

The story seems pretty standard at first, but it grows on you and is surprisingly funny. Translation is spot on. So far so good.

5k chapters above, and I still want to read more. This book, the characters, the MC Qiao Mu got me hooked. It’s such a great book where I suffered a lot of ups and downs in my emotions yet I still kept coming back. The Mc’s characteristics made me fall in love with her almost instantly. I’ve got complaints bout this novel as I’ve read this novel already 3 times in total now. I love the MC for her headstrong character as well as her flaws, and I’m quite satisfied with ML too. He’s one of those unique ml’s who got actual friends and knows how to treat the people around the MC better. He doesn’t spot a ten thousand year old ice glacier face treating everyone except MC like dirt or thinking everybody is his subordinates or something. In short, his not that blind egoistic, male chauvinist character.
I just hoped that the beats would be more useful or maybe some action with the fuxi sword. Some scenes never happened which is a bit disappointing but I guess I can’t ask the author to put every single detail on it. From starting from raw translations to proper translations-then mtl it’s been a long journey of two years of wait and read period.

i love this story... frankly a zombie apocalypse in a cultivation is a new idea.. at least I havent read that before so its new to me and the MC is just sooo god damn cute with her stoic face XD

love the parts when MC sometimes behave like a child or when the comedy parts come up.. they r funny enough to make me laugh, , which I havent done in a long time... specially the recent one around chapter 1200 or so.... cultivate! cultivate! cultivate!... hahaha anyone who has read till this point will understand what m talking about :D

I don't understand why this has such a low rating. It's an intriguing, emotion-inducing novel. While it's not perfect, it certainly doesn't have half the flaws of novels with similar premises.

I gave this up the first time I read it as soon as the mentions of zombies came up. The other reasons such as that the ML was overly obsessed with the FL despite her still being so young. However, I picked it ups again when I was bored and I'm glad I did. The combination of cultivation and zombies seemed very weird in the beginning, but the way the author blended these two martial arts and apocalyptic world was seamless. They actually made sense as there the story went... more>> on. There was also the fact the FL's past and identity was more than it seems, and that there was more going on behind-the-scenes that what it first looked like. Overall, highly recommend. Just get past the FL's stoic behavior in the beginning, and you'll get used to it and why she behaves the way she does. Because that kind of threw me off as I was confused to why they would make the FL so seemingly expressionless and heartless. IT DOES MAKE SENSE!!! And you'll definitely see her growth.

I'm also glad there's no s*upid hiding her cultivation level just to throw her opponents off guard. I mean, she does hide it slightly with a talisman, but only because she doesn't want trouble. There is no scheming in the FL's mind, and she's super straight forward. The interaction between her and the ML's dad (the emperor) is also hilarious. It seems like they're very opposing of each other, yet so accommodating. Haha.. <<less

Totally worth reading it. You can't regret reading it. Is a uniq book with uniq characters. You can't say that it messing something. It has all a book need, especially "complete" character that you can understand their action, even a fool/idiot.

Really funny and the story keeps going on with good number of twists and romance. There are a lot of chapters but each chapter is so short. So you can literally think of 2 chapters in this novel as 1 one chapter in any other novel.

It's an entertaining novel.

The little villains are dealt with quickly. I kinda like the personality of the MC. But. Why. Is. She. À. 6. Years. Orld

I really don't understand. What would happen if she was around the age of the crown prince? Why???

Their difference of strength is immense. She can't even argue or fight back. I don't really like the way he thinks of her when she is just a village kid.

I’m not too far in but I give it a solid 4. It’s a rebirth kinda story and I’ve read tons of them. It’s a tough genre to be unique in but this one has something about it that really grows on you. I did get slightly bored with it in the very beginning but I’m glad I kept going because it picks up the pace quickly. Pros- ~Incredible ML right out the gate and never wavers. ~Has a good balance of allies and enemies. ~ Both ML and FL... more>> are OP, ruthless and not ashamed to show it. ~Any interactions between ML/FL are golden. ~A few really entertaining side characters.

Cons- ~A little sluggish to read as the story is getting set up but greatly improves rather quickly. ~She’s a child for awhile, so it limits romance, if that matters to you. ~Not much backstory yet as she has lost some memories. You are left just going with the flow. ~I’m not far in yet but I’m hoping the FL will gain some EQ along the way.

This novel is among my top 5 and I can’t get enough of it. Qiao Mu is one of the funniest, strongest, toughest, talented and adorable MC I have read about. I have loved her from the first chapter, felt her pain when she remembered her past life and loved her growth. When she likes you, you have become her family member. When she hates you, she deals with you immediately, she doesn’t believe in leaving a target on her back. Her expressions and replies are everything, you know her... more>> clap back can make someone die of shame!

Mo Lian is also one of my favorite ML, yes, it was weird with him pursuing her from meeting her 7 years old self but I liked how he tried to keep his distance till she was of age. He always stood by her and left no stone unturned whenever she was attacked, Infact they are perfect together.

I also love Duan, the 2ML, the relationship between them is beautiful, he loves Qiao Mu but he isn’t obsessive about loving her like 2nd Qin and Ming Yasi.

I need more novels with female characters like Qiao Mu!! <<less
