Extremely soft and sweet, especially the romance and interactions of the MC (An Bu) and ML (Jian NingXuan). Filled with fluff, slight horror, adventures (short-lived) and a little angst (very little: at most for 3-4 chapters). It's early romance considering how quick the two wanted to cohabitate. There are myriad of incidents as the MC does part-time jobs from all the walks of the life and the people she saves have their own story. Extremely well-written bringing various emotions to life.

It's the story of a dead corpse whose 5 senses... more>> are incomplete and can only smell and hear well, lives in a colorblind world, devoid of taste sensations and feels no pain, who wants to live life, experience things and tries hard not to be lifeless, saving countless people in order to gather the life value obtained from the rescue. That corpse suddenly meets someone who brings color to the colorblind-self, whose whispers can make her feel sensations on her skin and whose caring melts her corpse-heart. And so, the corpse-shit-shoveler abducted her colorful-cat-master home.

On the other hand, it's also the story of a living-portable-heater whose heat was so strong that he would sweat himself as if walked into rain and couldn't bear temperatures above 27 degree Celsius and no one dare to come close to him and as such without the ACs, all the world was burning with heat for him. Yet he met someone who became the only piece of solace for him, with an ever-lasting cooling effect. The more he knew of his walking-AC, the more he became curious and couldn't help but care for her as she did for him. And so, the hotter-than-a-heater squeezed himself into the home of his colorful-walking-AC.

I really really loved this one even among the other novels of the same author. Especially the couple dynamics. I smiled, I laughed, I questioned, I raged and I cried. The novel had me satisfied in the end.

The premise is really nice, a zombie girl who needs yang energy to feel alive slice of life, written for a young adult audience, and the skits alternate smoothly between slight horror, entertainment faceslapping, romance, thriller...

The problems are in the writing of two things:

  1. The ML, he's supposed to be "sweet" but the author could not help making him a controlling jerk who goes against what the heroine asks him explicitly unless she threatens (and even then...) he does not trust her, he stalks her (literally bugging her phone tracking, among other stuff), and he tries his best to isolate her at home, and even prevent her to have simple professional contact with any other guy.

    I would have liked if the heroine truly had no emotions and just kept him to leech, but obviously it's not what's written, it just make the guy loveable as far as the author is concerned

  2. The life experience of the MC. She's supposed to have experienced a lot, know a lot, have met a lot of people, have seen them grow old and die, have left them before they noticed she's a zombie, but no, she's written like an eighteen year old who left her hometown and got her first boyfriend and part time job, I guess it's supposed to make her relatable, whereas per the premise she should have been a calculating cold entity with a huge social network and an utilitarian approach, and the ML crush should have been correctly depicted as a passing childish infatuation on his part, she should have seen through right away, and actually not cared about.

I love the MC and ML!

The romance is not rushed! I was in the journey with them.

When they met. When they became acquaintances. When they fell in love. When they faced challenges together.

Gosh. I love it ♡♡♡

The MC is a 80+ years old living corpse. While ML is someone who has a rare constitution of extreme Yang physic that can give vitality to MC.

The typical compare-contrast couple. But they hit it off. They're basically born for each other.

As another reviewer said, the side characters weren't really fleshed out. Some of them were forgotten wid way. They were suddenly mentioned some chapters later and it made me wonder, "Who are they again?" lol

The MC is an immortal saviour. She's a Queen. It might seem a bit Mary Sue. But she's actually rational. She might have some feelings to save them but at the same time she needs the vitality points to "live". So basically, she's helping others to help herself. Win-win.

She has many sock puppets. If you know what I mean, you know.

Thanks to the translator. I read ahead by mtl so some stuff were confusing. I'll wait and stock pile chapters.~~ <<less

I enjoyed it alot.

MC is the owner of a magical book, but ends up dying and turns into an undead.

She has to gather vitality point to prevent herself becoming a concious unmovable corpse and she gathers these points passively by living in the city, but the majority comes from doing good deeds.

fast forward 80 or so years and she meets the MC, though this one review said he's tr*sh I don't think he is. The MC does some pretty selfish stuff aswell in that relationship and he does not "lock... more>> her up" or control her to a bad degree.

Top it off that the MC has to be hyperactive (study, memories and reread knowledge) to even remember stuff and keep her body from stiffening. She even has backup and backups for backups in case sh*t happens.

It's a good and interesting read really, not always consistent with the world building. I had alot of fun reading it and its something I could easily read again in a few years.

It was initially a funny story. But I don't know why you (author-nim) have to end it with something obviously not sad but at the same time, it's not as happy as before. Don't get me wrong, it was a happy ending.

The beginning of their story was really hilarious. I love how the FL, a corpse, strives to live. And how the ML is like a cat who's very adorable but acts haughty. I love their romance, it was fast-paced but very touching. Especially at the latter part huhuhuhu.

As for... more>> the plot, it was very good. It mainly revolves around the FL saving life here and there to increase her vitality. Also, I am the type of reader who can remember even some small characters who are not that important, but for this story, it's not really necessary to remember them or be sentimental about them. It mainly has something to do with the FL. So even if I kinda like some of the passerby-like characters, I know that it's useless to ask what happened to them at the end.

As for that turning point,

I really got teary-eyed huhuhuhu. Just thinking how hard the FL tries to live and save people just to be reborn and yet for the ML... Huhuhuhu it really breaks my heart when she transforms from being lively and bubbly corpse to being a lifeless grim ripper. And although the ending shows how adorable she was, I still prefer the old her who was so naughty and lively. I am also touched with the ML's love for her, he's willing to be with her, come high or low, take her place in saving people, and be patient with her

And the last chapter where the FL gave birth (wait, should I say that? Or should I say that the baby crawled out on its own?) Anyway, I like the fact that both of them became immortal because at the very beginning, my heart's anxiety is what if the ending is that the ML aged and die and the FL can only bid farewell to him and live miserably forever? It was a very good thing that they'll stay forever together.

Overall, I really love the story, the main characters, and the plot. What a pity that there's only a few extras. I wish it has more extras than that where the lively FL was back (well, she kinda did but I still want more). Nevertheless, it's still 10/10 for me. <<less

MC is a corpse that's been living for quite awhile. Met her one true love that is ML. They are truly a match made in heaven. ML has a super hot body like literally meanwhile MC has a cold body like a corpse. MC is not like any other corpse. She's a hard worker, a benevolent queen, extreme sport enthusiast, a vet, a flirty person, a billionaire and many more.

Pros :

Cute romance n quite healthy relationship. ML is sooo cute. They really care about eachother and their chemistry is nice.... more>> They handle things maturely while keeping things fun.

MC is okay ish. She has a good moral. She's a lil bit of everything. Doesn't try to standout but she's the child of heaven, what can I say.

Cons : oh boy

Remember the hot ML and cold MC thingy?? Well author kinda forget about that in the middle of the novel. It barely got mentioned after ML told MC about his past.

At the start of the story, it gives off cute-easy-romance w fluff then it turned kinda cliché then turned acting world situation then slight horror then back to romance. It's too much and all over the place.

MC is too op and mary sue?? MC has been living for far too long and just capable of doing things that normal human couldn't?? For example. : MC : I wanna save animals. Ending : enroll into a med school. Everytime MC meets w a man, u bet that man will have some kind of thought about MC.

Side characters??? Hehe. The typical I-am-a-despicable-person-that-will-bully-MC kind of side chara. It's a story of MC, ML, their children?? And side characters that either likes them or got face slapped by them.

I'm only here for the romance and would never re read this again. Kinda rare to find a ML like this one <<less

A super fun story to read! I really enjoyed this light-hearted story about an animated corpse saving lives and her heater boyfriend/husband.

Our FL An Bu is a corpse. Actually she’s a human with a special power of seeing people’s life & death and then she died. In order to have vitality like an alive person, she needs to save people to get some sort of destiny vitality points (I read MTL so the translation may be wonky.) Basically the “vitality” points that she gets from saving people from death must... more>> be higher than her “death” points so that she can be like an alive human that can taste, see colour, feel. She’s striving hard for that! Thus, a lot of the plotlines in the novel is how she saves people. It is very fun. The FL herself is an optimistic person, I feel she has to have that POV in order to live happily as a corpse. She’s brave and adventurous. She can do a lot of things because she’s lived a long time and also she needs to constantly stimulate her brain in order to be alive. So she does seem Mary-Sue but I think it really works for her. She’s just such a fun character.

ML on the other hand has an abundance of “yang” energy that makes him run hot. (A reviewer mentions that the author forgets about this midway through the novel but that’s not true. Its still mentioned later on but briefly.) Due to him feeling utter discomfort and causing a lot of problems to people around him, ML often has a stoic demeanour and doesn’t hang around other people so much. This changes when he meets FL has her cold yin energy makes him feel comfortable and better! They are a match made in Heaven. ML is such a doting lover. He cares so much for FL and often protects her behind the scenes and supports her in all she does. He is really so supportive. I love his character a lot. He sometimes act tsundere.

Also the two of them seem to like bathroom play a lot lololol.

Basically the story is of both of them coexisting, saving lives, travelling together.

The last storyline is so good it made me cry. I love how author ended the story.

But yeah one of the cons of the story is how side characters are introduced and forgotten fast. Its like, they pop up, they’re saved by An Bu, and then bye! Minimal face slapping that ends super fast too. Basically no resolution for some issues faced by side characters as author focuses on FL and ML.

Still a great read though. Especially the romance! Highly recommended. <<less

REALLY CUTEEEEE!

OMG I LOVE LOVEEEE the relationship between the two leads, the ML is so precious and sweet and I love how proactive the MC is to keep her little cat constantly happy and satisfied uwu

the slight emotional up's and downs were a great addition.

... more>> I'm ngl, I wish the characters apart from MC and ML were more prominent and well fleshed out. She supposedly has had 80+ years of living and in those she had multiple lives, it would have been nice for some big-boss drama with badass identities.

regardless, it was a fun adventure seeing such a lively corpse and a sweet ML. <<less

Really good novel, I loved the MC and ML. Though there are other novels with similar plots, I would say this one is the most unique I've read so far. The way the MC works hard to regain her humanity was just so beautiful! My only complaint is that I wasn't super happy with the ending.

The MC spends the entire book helping people and working to be alive but in the end, she gets the death book and all that work was for nothing. Instead, the life book goes to the ML and he's the one who helps people despite spending the entire book being the one reminding the MC to not save people at the cost of herself. I just thought it was a weird end result compared to their roles. Besides that, I didn't really like that they had a kid out of nowhere. It doesn't add anything to the story and felt like the author just added it to tick off a box.
