The Fierce and the Peach.

Jiang Tao is a nurse in a hospital, the head nurse asked her if she wants to go on a blind date, she had a great candidate, since Jiang Tao had many unfortunate blind dates, but still think eventually she will get married (but on her own terms) she agreed. Jiang Tao is actually pretty introverted despite her good looks, she grew up with her grandmother and returned to this smaller city to be with her grandma, her conditions in marriage is to accomodate her and... more>> her grandma too. She agreed to the blind date, but was met with a fierce looking man, although he was handsome but looked like a gangster boss from TV. But actually was an engineering talent with his own company, Cao An, three generations of men in his family looked like this. For him cute Jiang Tao was actually a perfect choice.
Again, not my favorite type for FL, kinda cliche and we're not talking about love, simply personality. It's hard for me to read about such people, I just feel nothing but sorry, because world altough accomodates cute people, but also bullies people and is not truly accomodating. Jiang Tao (peach) is simply like a small shy animal, so in the relationship it was Cao An who was max accomodating, very slow at approaching, with respect and great care, just so Jiang Tao would get used to him (mind you, it took so long actually that I was surprised, why she is not slow with characters of others but slower with him). I think he truly went all out. When it was the blind date stage he was respectful and kept a distance, when she insisted that they were not appropriate, he made the distance wider and did not make any moves that could be misinterpreted. But this is also irked me, it is said that she met several blind dates that were not successful and also she was chased by a patient at the beginning, but she was so judgemental when she met Cao An for the first time. You should know better not to judge people, you don't judge book by its' cover. It is the fact that despite his looks his actions really were what pleased her she gave them the second chance. His tactic of boiling frog in the warm water worked. She has all the right to refuse because of her own temperament and that he scared her, but he never showed any bad sides, it's his face. I don't know the first part that I read has so much judgemental feel starting from Jiang Tao herself and everyone around. To get a wife Cao An worked really hard I'd say. Such a good man, he grew so much in my eyes that I felt her attitude made me look sideways at her.
The one character worth of praise is Jiang Tao's grandma, trendy and fun old lady is so lovely, if anything I could read about her. She was the one who pointed out to Cao An's character instead of his face. She's an old lady, she knows about people a thing or two.
Also Cao An was truly a great gentleman when he interacted with Jiang Tao, so he was a refreshing view, even if the comment section on JJ made fun and trie to compare him to any fierce-looking character existing. And yes, my rating is all based on my attitude toward a character like Jiang Tao, even if I know that this author has many signings and published books, so they can be considered popular, it doesn't mean that I will stop thinking that such a girl is cliche and kinda old-fashioned, although it's a pretty popular type, but it's not my thing. <<less

Not good but not bad either. If you guys like really “timid” FL then maybe this is your cup of tea but not mine. I usually don’t mind FL being timid and soft bc I personally really like soft and delicate FL but there’s a limit to it. The more I read this novel the more I find her annoying. Her “fear” toward him bc he was a big muscular guy was understandable at first but she remain the same even after interacting for months.. It doesn’t make sense bc... more>> the ML is very polite, and gentle towards her and to her grandma so I was like “tf u scared of?” He’s such a nice guy! I would die for man like him and he’s so BIG but soft like I was drooling thru my screen bc of how the author described our hot ML while she was still “tense” “scared” bla bla. I somehow make it to the part where they started living together and even tried to do the deed but the interaction is still as awkward as ever and I don’t have enough patience with her s*upid antics so I drop it <<less

If you want a sweet fluffy romance without much drama this is a good one. It's lights on the heart, leaving behind a sweet taste. One thing I appreciate the most is ML is not so super handsome who makes every girl turn their heads but the opposite with a good character and knows how to pit MC. Our MC is a beautiful, sweet, innocent little nurse who falls for his pit.

The beginning was a bit tough to read through, since the FL seem overly timid. But upon further reading, I came to really like the novel. It's sweet and funny and made me smile constantly. There are mentions of 'sexy times' but no explicit descriptions, it's enough to paint a picture and let the reader's imaginations fill in the gaps.

I don't know if it'll help any other readers, but for me, I need to picture the characters in the novel while reading. But this ML was impossible to imagine ... more>>

until I remembered an anime I saw on Netflix called 'The Way of the Househusband'. He's a tough looking guy, but is also charismatic and handsome in a way. So, I imagined this ML to look sorta like that.

I like me some yandare ML, but Cao An is more mature, intelligent and calculative than that.

There're no third-parties, no frustrating misunderstandings and no 'dog-blood' plots.

Overall, it's a nice read. I will totally re-read this one day. <<less

The book is good. I think it's likable. Whether you like the characters depends on your preference I think. The MC is shy to almost a cliche degree all the way near the end, but you can tell it's her temperament and it doesn't stop how she feels about him. Kinda contradictory, could seem annoying, but also kinda feels realistic? Like if a shy girl existed, she might act like this? The ML is very smart and high EQ/IQ. This book is mostly his chasing with little to then no... more>> resistance from the MC. The MC does change and become more "brave". The ML you learn is 100% cunning. The two of them is the epitome of gender stereotypes in body types so that may seem v cliche for some ppl: MC, shy & delicate & soft & easily embarrassed & beautiful & blushing female and ml, fierce looking, manly looking, 8 pack, tall, strong, tan, handsome, high s*x drive male.

The only thing different is that their dynamic in the sense the author made the chasing slow and the pacing very slice of life. Other than that, typical soft wife and hard husband except the leads care a lot abt each other and treat each other well. I think the writing still leans too much on telling than showing for me to give this more than 3 stars. I just needed a little more detail for me to feel immersed in the story, but still the writing does the job pretty well and feels pretty josei imo. <<less
