This novel is the very definition of slow paced. I made it through 80 chapters and perhaps a week or two has passed since he arrived in the world. Most chapters are individual parts of a conversation, and the conversation itself can be up to four chapters long.

While things do happen, the vast majority of the experience is exposition.

The updates are consistent, and the translation doesn't have any major flaws that I noticed, but that almost makes it worse. I mean people are putting effort into a novel where nothing... more>> happens when other novels are waiting on proper translation.

If you're looking for a cute dog/wolf novel, like I was, I can't recommend this over the one where MC is isekai'd as a fenrir or even something where it plays a smaller role like Strongest Magician becomes a Guard. A youtuber I like once said the line "I can only recommend it as a sleep aid" and I would like to echo that sentiment here. <<less

You have to turn off your brain if you ever want to read this story. The logic is quite crappy for example, his dog knows how to spit fire immediately just after transmigrating while it doesn't know what type of dog it has become. Both guards and butler don't even react the first time to the dog even though Mrs. Claire mentions that it's the most fearsome kind of wolf that no one survives against to tell the tale.

The starting plot is absolutely generic. Guess, I will drop it right... more>> away. <<less

Ultimately there is too much repetition and wasted space in this work. The content could've been noticeably reduced without any loss in terms of information for most things. I would say 30% could be cut without a noticeable drop in what is being relayed to the reader.

The author has made the protagonist just a little too infuriating for me, even though I know this is method for teaching and partially a way to console those that are lacking in ambition, its still disheartening to see this example play out for... more>> over 200 chapters. Ultimately I would like there to be an epiphany from the protagonist by now.

This is ultimately a very slow paced novel that likes to waste your time, if you need something to spend time with to sooth a hectic life maybe this can be a change of pace, but I just believe there are better options out there.

What I would like is a re-write of the novel to address these key factors. 1. The protagonist is mature enough to know better, and 2. The protagonist's self esteem should've grown more over this time, to the point where he finds value in himself that is on par with being able to reciprocate the feelings he should obviously be able to tell are felt towards him.

I think the Author is doing well enough in regards to the story beats, it just needs to lose some of the repetitive elements, and I think the Author would have a really good framework for this to be repackaged in. I hope that they eventually get to do that once the work is complete, because I do see some strong bones on this, but that may partially be due to just how glaring the flaws with repetition and the character's lack of growth given he's in such a supportive environment. <<less
