If you’re on the hunt for a novel that's the literary equivalent of a perfectly brewed cup of coffee—“not too hot, not too lukewarm, just right”—this book might just become your new caffeine fix.

The characters are delightfully straightforward: not so complex that you need to decipher, but not so flat they blend into the wallpaper. They stay consistently charming and never veer into boring territory. One of the highlights? The ML doesn’t engage in the usual “I’m so conflicted about my feelings” drama. Nope, he spots his affection for the MC and owns it—no drawn-out denial nonsense here. Sure, ML can be a bit pushy, but it’s all part of his lovable charm, never crossing into red-flag territory.

Honestly I have no idea how to write a review for this story, but then I saw the ratings that look kinda misleading, and since I binge-read this until 5 in the morning...

As the name suggests, in this novel, the MC, who is an Omega, has mutated pheromones that repels Alphas to the point where they would throw up or be knocked unconscious. Thus, he decided to give up on finding an Alpha to date.

After buying half of a couple's account in an MMORPG game that he used to play but deleted, the first thing he saw upon entering the game is the ML (who is an Alpha), playing the other half of the couple's account.

Their account names... Heheheh

Eventually, with the ML fulfilling his end of a bet made between him and the MC's cousin, and the MC helping his cousin who wants to turn his crush's head towards him instead of the ML, the MC and ML pretend to fake date.

I also really liked the MC's cousin. You could say he's... loyal to his family? And would prioritise his family over his crush at the end of the day.

Overall, this story is cute and comedic. It's honestly a little touching how far the ML would be willing to go if he finds that he isn't able to handle the MC's pheromones.

I liked this more than I expected. I’m giving it 4 stars because it does a good job at what it is—a short, light read. It doesn’t get in depth with most of the things it introduces, but it doesn’t need to.

The point isn’t to explain the world or solve a mystery or win a gaming championship. The story is more like a coming-of-age story than anything else—how Yue Ran finds his place in the world, with both his family and his friends. This is a pretty light read. The story starts with fake dating in their online game and that was my favorite part of the novel, because MC was acting all coquettish and cute as ML's wife in front of their guild. After they meet in real life, there isn't that much plot anymore

    • There's no conflict between the MC and ML, no focus on the romance
    • The story spends more time delving into MC's past with his former gamer friends with a lot of hidden identities
    • "Mutated Pheromones"/omegaverse aspect was easily resolved
Overall a quick read if you're looking for something stress-free. Wouldn't reread. I preferred Your Teacher I, am Hella Rich for hidden identities and online flirting in games.

I love me some healthy omegaverse novel!

And an important note: This is not an e-sport novel. I repeat, this is not an e-sport novel!

The game is a typical MMORPG game which is always a very nice setting for online dog blood drama.

Very fluffy, the MC is cute, I'm usually put off by tsundere, but this MC is surprisingly cute for me. The ML is your typical Mr. Perfect, but hey! I'm not complaining!

Overall, it's an enjoyable quick read!

Started reading this a while back but stopped because I didn't expect it to be a mmorpg plot and wasn't in the mood to digest that kind of plot in chinese (in game names and stuff). But came back to read it while I was in the mood and this is a really cute novel! Just note that it's a mmorpg abo novel.

I just want to also add, MC's cousin is the real MVP wingman here. Also, his family is really supportive type, which is great. The relationship progression... more>> is also thankfully not love at first sight. It's still quite fast in terms of speed, but there's some chasing at least. ML is really one of the sweetest kind in an ABO setting. No major misunderstandings in the romance department.

I actually really enjoyed the mmorpg aspect once I knew it was going to be that set up. The game play to the guilds and the people in the game were actually pretty fun. Especially the small plot of

somewhat hidden identity. It's cliche for them to be "gods" in the game, but it's a light hearted novel.

The antagonist were annoying (and somewhat persistent) but no lasting harm and quickly swept aside each time. The matter of the pheromones is also well wrapped up.

As for side CP, very barely there, don't get your hopes up for seeing them. And only 1 side CP confirmed in the extras and nothing more. Wished had more content for them.

Minus 0.5 stars was for the abrupt ending. It's a HEA, no worries but

Just leaving a note here for myself. I stopped at Chapter 50 coz I got tired of it. I kinda got annoyed with the ML, although a lot of people would say that the ML is reasonable, yada yada. But I still think he’s pushy and just imposes his feelings too much on MC.

Not normally into gaming danmei (or generally any novel that has a ton of 'chat' dialogue) but this was really well-written, and the translator went the extra mile to make it easy to follow.

Definitely a fun read, especially if you love fluffy ABO. The characters were mostly well-rounded, I loved MC's family and their in-game friends--there were legitimately a few times when I was cracking up while reading. My only real criticism is ML was rather 2-dimensional... the excessively perfect alpha, with not much to do in the story outside... more>> of romancing MC. The 'villain' in the final 1/3 was also a pretty shallow cliche with completely illogical motivations (ironically the prior in-game conflicts were more realistic and complex, wasn't expecting that!)

The overall plot, pacing, and resolution were otherwise well thought out, and I would still recommend. Just the right length imo, ended while I was still wanting more, and before I got sick of drawn out/repetitive conflicts. <<less

It's fluffy and cute with no dog blood drama. This is about a tsundere omega with mutated pheromones and a very doting high class alpha.

This is not an e-sports gaming story, the story revolves around their gaming characters, the people in the guild and their interactions, until the main couple finally met in the university with the help of the shou's cousin. By the way special shout-out to my boy QX, YR's cousin and YS, YR's dad!! They are my favorite characters! The other side charaters are good too, but... more>> they are there like decorations only! Lol. I also feel bad that until the end, we only know their gaming names and not their real names, I mean c'mon author!!!

The translation is good, so I'd like to thank his effort and time translating this novel for us/me/everyone to enjoy.

Do I like the story? Sure.

Am I going to reread? No.

Overall this is a good novel for beginners!

I was looking for a fun, funny, and sweet ABO with all the hijinks entailed in an ABO setting. AND I FOUND IT IN THIS AND I AM SO FRIGGIN HAPPY

So many laugh out loud moments. I am in loooove with the MC and ML. I love how despite being all cool and stoic the ML is, he's actually pretty honest with himself and his feelings. No s*upid self-denial here.

I like how they develop and enjoyed their interactions together and with others so so much.

MC's dad is so friggin hilarious... more>> and I almost died trying not to laugh while reading in public. Mostly tried to cope by covering my deranged smile lol

The pacing is pretty good.

The whole identity misunderstanding was resolved pretty well and I am so glad it was done in a very lighthearted way and didn't drag too much.

I love how the MC isn't completely oblivious and has a reasonable hurdle to overcome with regards to responding to ML's feelings.

I loooove MC's cousin. Gosh. He's the perfect wingman but not in an annoying s*upid way. So many characters are well written with distinct personalities and I am so happy to just bask in it.

Pretty cute and rather well thought out.

Story is nothing new but really entertaining put together and you feel that it was planned out from the beginning on.

MC is a cute little spitfire tsundere with mutated pheromones. Insted of seducing, his smell is repelling alphas. Little MC was planning to find an alpha and start dating now that he enters college but this dream just died. So, fired up by his cousin he starts to enjoy his vacation by playing a game that he was playing 3 years prior but... more>> got "forced" to delete the account by his parents.

Now this little good is back with a newly bought account... and putting on a show for his cousins sake?

Well there is fake dating, misunderstandings and some other standard stuff but I really like that it does not exactly target MC and ML. All the drama is somewhat happening to them but the two of them get along well and have great communication. I totally like their flow.

While MC is a bit tsundere he is cute but not cloying sweet. The story has a nice flow with lots of fluff and a bit face slapping.

That was a short story but it really packed a punch! I enjoyed it so much and couldn't stop reading. I highly recommend. It's hilarious and just cotton candy sweet!

Sure enough, it's a really fluffy ABO novel. It has a fast pace (not too fast), and the plot was nice. The plot twists (?Reveal?) seemed natural and the things happening weren't too much for it to be a drama or dog blood novel, yet it's enough to keep up your interest. The main and side characters are really nice, most of them have personality to a degree, and their interactions (not just the MC and ML) are really cute. There are some side CPs (mainly one side CP and... more>> one implied one). Despite being an ABO novel, it had a nice ML who didn't fall for the MC because of pheromones or something vague.

Perhaps the only thing I didn't like was the ending, it felt a bit too fast for it to be ending and a bit fast, though I think it did avoid the situation of repetitive plot (which happens in a lot of mmorpg novels). Definitely recommend it to fluff lovers. Sorry for the bad English and have a nice day. <<less

Finished reading another story and realized I forgot to write a review for this one.

This was a short and cute one. There were some annoyances, mostly over the MC's tsundere personality, which I often find frustrating as a trope in these kinds of stories. Every time they provide a shou who is extremely thin skinned I start halfway facepalming.

Overall though was pretty enjoyable. The cousin is the biggest wingman through and through, appreciate his outspoken and cheerful nature while also boasting a very high EQ. He's very supportive and protective... more>> of the MC while still being worthy of his good friendship with the ML. The whole acting phase is over pretty quickly and we manage to get through multiple misunderstandings in game before the MC is able to return as a big god in the game. Our ML falls in love pretty fast lol, and there's a lot of drama going on where the MC doesn't agree for good reason, but then slowly they get together. Happy ending eventually with the author naturally providing a somewhat reasonable explanation for his condition and letting the two come together. May or may not read again, the whole process of getting together was slightly tortuous due to the MC's personality. Communication is key people. <<less

So cute and fluffy! I like the unconventional take on mutated pheromones and gaming aspect. I definitely enjoyed the college life part more than the initial setup during summer vacation.

I do wish there was further development on Jiang Xiao's character.

Refreshingly sweet story with a bit of suspense 🥹

Not a drama-filled conflict, but it was 'enough' to spice up the story.

Our MC is a tsundere, but he's not annoying, really he's cute in a sweet way. Quite tough, and her tsundere nature just makes her character more lovable...

... more>> Our ML is the best. He fell in love first, pursued in a super epic way, the best PDA spreader, and he's Sexy 😭😭 he's like a yandere in a gentle way, he's possessive but reasonable, he's sexy and smart, and very loving...

I love how they come together not too slow but not too fast either. It's just right and sweet!!!

Bottom line it was one fun read.

This was a fun read! I rarely gaming BL web novels, so I'm really happy this one exceeded my expectations (＾▽＾) I'd recommend this if you're looking for a feel-good omegaverse story with low stakes!

What I loved:

  1. I love, love, love how Jiang Xiao was firm in his romantic attraction towards Yue Ran!

  2. I like how Yu was bold but not arrogant. He knows how to stand up for himself, but he never initiates unnecessary fights. In some BLs, I get turned off from reading when the author thinks making the bottom arrogant is the same thing as making them bold (ー_ー) They just end up as annoying to me. This author did NOT do that, which is great!
  3. Yue Ran's parents are so silly!

    Nothing wrong with stories involving unsupportive/abusive parents, but I like that both Yue Ran's and Jian Xiao's parents were good people. More feel-good content for me!

  4. The chapters set in the game was easy to follow as an ex-League of Legends player. I was kinda worried it would be boring, but it was pretty entertaining reading Yue Ran and Jiang Xiao's initial, online-only interactions.

Very lovely and cute, does have a lot of gaming scenes but they’re easy to follow. Not a lot of issues cons up and the offer that do are easily resolved. Good communication between the two leads and cute interactions with the side characters as well.
