This is so damn sweet. The main couple is just really wholesome. So far there is no big plot or anything going on. Its basically just the daily life events of the main couple who have already been in a stable relationship stage for sometime now. But even the simple mundane moments oozes with sweetness while being realistic. The way the two of them accomodate the other and take care of each other through the simple day-to-day stuff is just ugggh so satisying and relaxing to read.

When you start reading the MC comes of as a little bit of a blockhead in the body of a male god and pretty much everyone around him thinks of him the same way including himself. Not in a bad way where he is insecure about his naivete; he simply acknowledges it bcoz its true and his s*upidity is funny and endearing. But as you read a little more you start to realise just how mature/ smart he actually is when it comes to his interactions with people. He has really good EQ where he is really considerate of the people he cares about so much so that one moment they would be wondering why he is such a blockhead bcoz of something or the other that he does but then he explains or they find out why he did it and they realise just how mature/sweet the MC is. He thinks about, notices and takes care of even the little things about the people he cares about. And regarding any annoying sh*t people do to him, its not that he doesn't understand when someone tries to pit him or whatnot, he just doesn't care enough about such s*upidity to do anything about it. He simply does things his way so that he has peace of mind. As simple as that. In short, a pure, precious lil sweetie (not in an annoying mary sueish way.)

About the ml- Another reviewer mentioned how the ML seems like he does not value the MC with the example of how he talks about his mother's rantings. Thats not really the case. In the beginning it might seem like the MC is more invested in the relationship and the ML not so much but as you continue reading you realise thats not true. The ML absolutely cherishes the MC and makes sure the MC doesn't get carried away with his give-in-to-others-to-keep-peace attitude. Also, honestly I find it nice that they have good enough trust and communication between them to talk about the tantrums ml's mom throws. Their relationship is stable enough for them to share things like that without worrying abt offending the other. They openly talk about the little jealousies, vents abt the silly or annoying stuff that happens to them, etc.

(r.i.p ML for having to deal with yuan xiao rui's (mc) shameless fanboying over all the good looking guys he meets lol. Oh and kudos to ML for maintaining the lil jealousies as funny, insignificant episodes that never affects their relationship nor comes anywhere near being toxic; and also to the MC for giving his boyfriend the sense of security to do that. Well it might also have a lot to do with the fact that the ML is pretty much rendered speechless by the fanboying that he often forgets to respond to it) <<less

It's alright, and by that, I mean out of all the other books set in this universe, currently translated, this one is the most readable. I urge you not to waste your time though. There's nothing particularly wrong... it's just a bland, sweet read. Except if fluff is what you want, there are better-written books out there. Half the time, it feels like I'm reading filler.

This is a gem. Slice of life with a couple that learns how to love each other the best they can. I really enjoy how supportive they are, and it's done in a humorous way. I found the sweetness of the couple to be balanced, there are ups and downs, uncertainties, but their bond holds. The side story about another couple was not my thing at all.

everyone is flawed, but everyone is human. I love that this story has no overbearing CEO ML or highly talented actor MC. MC often said that he's s*upid, but he was not bitter, just acknowledging that he had no head for intrigue, schemes, or secrets. There are some comedic moments, frustrating moments, happy moments, but overall tone is warm and fluffy.

The biggest flaw of the story, the reason it made me drop the novel,... more>> is EXACTLY ONE CHARACTER - Yang Lu. Who is Yang Lu, you ask?

Yang Lu is introduced as a the main director of MC's latest variety show (MC is a popular model/variety show regular) who acts like a bully towards him for no reason. During the process her tones shifts to overbearing tsundere type, until at the wrapp party, she randomly announces that she is planning go adopt him because he has no mother (he still has a father though, you creep). Even the MC is weirded out by this declaration, but his agent practically forces him to accept it. Of course, that should have been the end of that, except this random-ass lady just forcefully interjects into his life.

Like ML's mom shows up to meet MC at his home but this lady, who happened to be there, even afyet being repeatedly told to leave by both parties to leave she not only stays "because I am his godmother, and it is also my family problem", but also forcefully takes the mother away. Then she meets with the ML and insults him about how he will never be enough for the MC and throws him being an illegitimate child in his face. Then she has the audacity to actually show up to their house and tell MC she is doing it "for his own good" and I lost it.

I had to comb through the novel because I just couldnt control myself. I thought she might be connected to MC's dead mom or even his bio-dad, a gambling addict who ditched them over 10years ago, but no. She really is literally a nobody random-ass lady

The honesty and straightforwardness of the relationship is really heartwarming. Although they have some serious conversations, the communication between the CP is realistic and how an issue should be discussed in a relationship.

Not only that, each chapter is hilarious with just the right amount of lovey-doveyness. The relationship is so human with its realistic inclusion of jealousy, but also the happiness and cuddliness.

I'm writing this review after re-reading the story (I think it's been about a year from when I first read this novel) and I think this has officially become my favourite modern day genre danmei novel.

It is a slice of life with showbiz on the side and the leads are already an established couple from the start of the story. Sometimes, in other novels, once the leads get together, the story sometimes hits a stillpoint. However, in this story, I never felt bored at all. The couple... more>> is very entertaining and there are healthy conflicts (which also add to the comedic effect, eg: the MC being a face-con, ML being jealous because of it, and then ML being coaxed by the MC).

The MC himself is also super sweet and also dumb but in an endearing way. Sometimes people make get annoyed with naive or dumb MCs but in this story, even if the MC seems "dumb" at first, he's actually really sweet and caring towards the people that are important to him, and knows when to set boundaries to prevent misunderstandings.

Overall, this novel is a good mix of funny, sweet, and even some heart-warming moments. I would definitely recommend this story. In the future, I might also go for a 2nd re-read (after the plot has faded from my mind and I want to read something fluffy and entertaining after a heavy read). <<less
