He was born without eyes, nose or mouth, just a piece of rotting flesh, a cruel and terrible monster.

He had eyes for only one person, his creator, Feng Yeran: a terminally ill, ambitious scientist.

He had only one wish, to get him. That included getting his love, his everything, to be with him forever―

For that he would give everything; anyone who dared to lay their hands on Feng Yeran would be doomed.

Younger Yandere Monster Top X Weak Researcher Bottom

Preface:

There were four pieces of playdough on the table, of different sizes. Little Feng Hua was puzzled.

—Feng Hua: Ye’er, how do we make a small house out of these four pieces of playdough?

—Feng Yeran: Squeeze them into the shape you want. This one is the roof, the biggest one is the walls, this one is the doors and windows, and the last small one is the chimney.

—Feng Hua: There are so many coloured pencils and pastels here!

—Feng Yeran: When we finish the house, let’s paint the background of the house, the earth, the green grass, the blue sky and the white clouds.

—Feng Hua: And paint the two of us!

—Feng Yeran: Yes, one adult and one child!

—Feng Hua: We’ll be together forever!

The translator didn't just boast in this one.

Its actually pretty good. But it needs a lot of patience.

There is good for shadowing, but it's hard to catch on. As it doesn't really make sense until the very end of the novel.

... more>> This novel, feels very realistic too. At least in the metaphorical and philosophical way.

The obsession, self hatred, and love, are described very accurately too.

If you are quick to 'nope out' then I suggest that you do not read the article. It takes very slow progress but by the end you won't even realize that it's ended. By then, you will want to experience the feeling again, more properly.

But you'd have already missed that chance.

But for those with a infinity sense of humor and patience, go read it!

It's not that sad of a read!

Also, this novel deceives you until the end! <<less

It was a very sad and painful especially towards the end. I see some people debating about whether the MC was tr*sh or not and he was. In the truth, however, we do learn that he did develop as a character.

It just took a while for MC to take ML as a priority. This wouldn’t be such an atrocious thing if he wasn’t MLs primary and only caretaker since birth. Lies. It was more to do with the environment ML was in and how much MC used him. Even that... more>> was redeemable but that surgery. No sane adult would allow a child to do that. Like I knew how much blood, sweat, and tears MV put into that research but no and making that child tell you “it’s okay. I’m tougher than you think” I was speechless.

Afterwards, we find out a lot of stuff that made us frustrated with MC wasnt true. In a way the first incident actually did serve as a wake up call and the MC actually started to put the ML first. So, You would think the author would allow MC the opportunity to make up for MLs tr*sh childhood but no. Even the truth and little stories are about ML suffering. I have never felt to bad for a ML. Everytime one of his scenes came up it was like the author started channeling Ishida Sui.

2 stars because I can tell the author actually spent time planning the story and another for the translation. <<less

It is recommended that you finish the whole story to understand the proper situation, and the reasoning behind the authors way of writing.

This is a very beautifully written. I've noticed that a lot of the people that gave 3 stars or less reviews have only read the first few chapters, however to fully understand the situation you really need to read the whole thing. The story consists of many intricate details throughout the whole story, and it all comes together wonderfully in the end. The translator also did a... more>> beautiful job in translating this piece, as in many cases the emotions that were supposed to be conveyed by the author were lost in translation. However despite the translation you can still feel the complexity of the characters and their relationships as well as the emotions. Once again kudos to the translators. <<less

Its a very good novel I'll tell you that, Idk why this novel gets a 3.8 like how???? Please, look at the tags, it mentions "mature" and "yandere" so you should've expected something out of the the always good prevails trait and being good is number one theme. Nevertheless, on to the review.

The basic premise of the story:

Spoiler

Basically this novel is abt the scientist MC and his experiment ML. MC successfully created ML and cared for him since he was still a fetus until a full grown man. ML develops deep love and turns yandere and wanted MC to be his lover so bad.

[collapse]

The way the author writes the story very beautiful, it may sound that its just a crazy yandere story from the above description but let me tell you it has a deeper physiological plot and the author expressed the emotions and mental states of the MC and ML SO WELL. Like Please, I don't think the MC should deserves any bad endings as the previous previous reviewer said cs imo
Spoiler

MC is just a really broken man, he was betrayed and not loved for almost all his life and only experienced one relationship with the Cheater chen xuan, he's basically deprived of love and wanted love eventhough it was fake. He couldn't accept ML cs bruh MC sees himself as a father figure to ML and it cant changed so easily. I just feel immense pity for MC, he's so hurt. Though he had his wrongdoing, I still like him. ML too, he's an aggressive yandere but really he's good boy, he didn't r*ap* the MC even once, he really respects him. Guys just dont look at the characters at surface lvl, try to understand their way of thinking and their stand...

[collapse]

The angst:

yo when I say this hurts, it hurts. Im a sucker for Angst so this- is one of the tip most stinging novel. The ending is considered happy ig?? Tho I think its more to bittersweet :,)))

anyways pls read this and make this novel have a better rating. :) <<less

This novel is so f*cking heartbreaking, as many others said, I do recommend to read this from start to end in order for certain scenes and actions to become more easier to understand. I'll be honest though, I was a little weirded out over the father and son dynamic at first but there really isn't much we can do since..

The MC literally kept on making so many mistakes and misunderstandings that everything could've been resolved if they communicated more 😭😭 Either way, I have a love-hate relationship with this novel/pos... more>> But still has a somewhat sad but happy ending in the end^^ <<less

This is so saddening but very beautiful. At first, you will really hate MC. But wait till you get to the end of the story.

Spoiler

It turned out the MC we were introduced to at the start till the "end" of the story (The Wall) was created by ML.

[collapse]

Anyway, I won't spoil much. Just read it, it's worth it. And don't rate it so hastily if you haven't even finish reading it yet, seriously...

Cried till my head started hurting.

Favorite quote: "if love is connected to death... I rather not love". It is difficult to imagine how life will be like after your lover dies. It is not easy to accept death, but healing takes time and it is a painful, slow and long process.

Feng Yeran died, I could totally relate to all the emotions Feng Hua went through, the pain, despair and fear, knowing your loved one was nearing their death.

[collapse]

This book made me go through a lot personally, however, I don't regret reading it.

To all those who gave one star rating, please read the book completely before judging it. This book has more than just MC cheating on the ML. Although it was wrong, the MC goes through a lot after that. I was very mad at him at first too. But please complete the story before cursing him.

I enjoyed the story, many of the things I found to be not quiet right in the logic of things turns out had a great explanation like Sean that f*ck I found annoying at first.

Spoiler

although I wouldn't really call him a split personality since the basis of DID (dissociative identity disorder) if fully on a human mind, although our little monster has emotions like humans he isn't and therefore the people he created like Sean stems from parts of him but it isn't DID. Which is better since if it was actually DID the sh*t the happened wouldn't have actually made sense lol

[collapse]

I by no means do I think it's a healthy relationship but what the heck it's about a monster and it's creator so...

There was a different route they could have gone which would have even more leaned on the psychological aspect but I do also like how it was done it its own right.

Spoiler

As much as they both would have loved if they met as humans and healthy ones their story would have never worked if that was the case. Feng Yeran had to be Feng Hua's creator, Feng Hua's love and obsession stems from his biological nature, if anything their love could either be called fate or coincidence. I liked how f*cked up their relationship was, it kinda showed how twisted and connected human emotions can get when not healthily understood and separated, like the line between love and attachment. Feng Yeran started out as a very selfish scientist, he wanted to make a legacy before he died and ignored the ethics of what they were doing. Feng Hua was a child, a "yes" from a child isn't consent when you're asking them if they "ok" being mutilated. He was accepting all the experiments for Yeran, then after getting what Yeran wanted Hua was neglected. Hua's understanding is definitely still childlike, he doesn't understand his own emotions fully nor does he understand Yeran's. A good example would be that an adult in that situation would not have because they understand the complexity of the situation but Hua's more demanding.

Skipping some stuff I really think they could have expanded on Yuren's trauma that Hua caused, u know all the deaths. But I'm fine with how it is, how I see it Yuren really has nothing else and chooses to keep all the good times with Hua rather than the bad because his attachment to Hua was the only thing he had left, I do think he did love Hua tho. I like how it ended and they were both pretty f*cked up in their own right. I do think that him knowing he was dying influenced that decision but that goes the same for Yuren's initial situation from the start, he needed to be dying and he needed not have a good family support for Hua to be born. The same way Hua's actions made sense, because he was not human and because he was never treated as one

A short, gory, scary, painful, yet chokingly emotional and loving read.

This book was so deep, and the world was so intricately woven that the author had to write an analysis of her own book as the last chapter (which I honestly found to be funny). It is not for the light-hearted, for sure. Neither is it for the ones who like a devoted romance with rational characters.

The male lead is quite cruel, so is the protagonist at times. But there's something so enthralling about this read that makes it a... more>> solid 4-star read for me. <<less

Short but a real worthy binge read.

The flow, the depth and plot twist of the story is really amazing. There were lots of hints that were really important and properly explained in the end.

Overall it was an emotional roller coaster ride but one thing is for sure this story is a HE. It is a must recommended to read!! ☺️

Found this translation on NU and went on to devour the rest of the story in the raws. It's rather raw itself, emotionally, and I'm still thinking about it even after I'm done.

The author cited Doris Lessing's The Golden Notebook as one of her inspirations for this story. I haven't read that before, but I can tell you now you'll be in for a wild trip. On the surface it's a conflicted, complicated love story between a scientist and his experiment, and that never really changes, but there's a lot... more>> of emotions running amok that will send your heart palpitating--with excitement, suspense, and sorrow.

I'd say it almost reminds me of Frankenstein, but with a far less bleak ending. I also appreciate how the ML here, despite being a yandere, knows the MC's boundaries and sticks to them
Spoiler

at least when he's in his right mind, lol. I won't spoil too much but once you know what's going on, the rest of the puzzle pieces fall into place pretty quickly.

[collapse]

Another thing this reminds me of is those horror RPGMaker games, with the charming characters and little stories that start out innocent but veer effortlessly into horror at a wink. I like the thrill--it's scary but not terrifying, and helps keep the tension taut.

Chapter 33 is technically just the author's notes and summaries of her ideas for the entire framework of the story, which helps clears up anything unclear along the way. All in all, I'm happy I found this today and am cheering Feng Hua and Ye'er on in my heart. ; U ; <<less

Beautiful writing and storytelling!! Very poetic and the author's explanations really help piece it all together. The translation was amazing too!

Although, I was unprepared emotionally and should have read the tags more carefully. 😭 I'm going to have to take a break from reading anything for a few days. This is the kind of novel where you spend some time pondering the ending afterwards. (This prompted my first ever review here lol.)

I felt so bad for the ML when reading about how he suffered during all those cruel experiments just because its what the MC wanted. The MC really didn't deserve him. Even though I knew the MC was eventually going to die, I had some sliver of hope that ML would figure out a way to save him. The way ML suffered from his multiple personalities and new worlds just broke me... The ending was so bittersweet. I hope that after his last world is over, that he and MC found eachother in the afterlife.

That being said, I would definitely re-read this someday, but not for a while because I need some time to heal from it. <<less

Reading this kind of novel is kind of off. As you can see on the tags, the MC is really straight, he only loves our ML as a son but the ML really loves him. Its felts quiet wrong, both of them didnt deserve each other because the MC genuinely loves ML as his son becauze MC was the one who "create" the ml.

I unfortunately didnt read the tragedy tag so reading the chapter when they talk about tears. The author is already hinting about the tragedy, I cant continue... more>> reading this🥺 <<less

This is one of the most depressing books. If you're looking for a melancholy. I would recommend this. It's not as complex as I thought it would be as I was reading it. However, it makes you think, it minimally fits into the Psychological genre.
