Everyone in a high school is suddenly transported to another world. As they are attacked by monsters they find that some of the students now have superpowers. They organize themselves into two groups. Those without powers are called the Stay Home Group and those with them are called the Exploration Group. On a day where most of the Exploration Group is out, the remaining ones that stay behind start the slaughtering and raping of the Stay Home Group.

Here we meet our protagonist, an average guy with no abilities who had just barely escaped death at the hands of his schoolmates. He ends up far away in a cave on the verge of death, exhausted and wounded when a slime enters the cave and starts eating away at his hand. All he can do is utter, “…please… someone out there… help me….”

Not your usual monster grill tamer MC where his monsters are all lovey dovey from the start (well they kinda are) It has good character interactions in that it feels like it's what will actually happen if it ever does, it feels real for the MC and his harem that is, the same can't be said to the rest of the people he got transported with. They feel inhumane which is kinda "forced" by the author that I feel like its less likely to happen if it does (which is... more>> kinda ironic if you look at the point before it). Other than that its till still a good read, a bit of slow romance (Kinda, felt like it) would recommend for a casual read if you wanna try it. <<less

The only thing I don't like about this novel is that any other than the MC, the other males was portrayed to be very s*upid, selfish, and lack the ability to even read the situation properly and talks like an idiot. Otherwise, this novel would be quite grim, serious and mostly focus on survival. The MC is not overpowered, but growing in power very slowly.

Glad I got back into it now that this story is finished. It's way better than I expected. The world and story opens up and expands so much after the initial event.

The story leans towards the more realistic/harsh reality of isekai, things are never easy for the MC but side characters are so vivid and well developed. Good relationship development and ending (?) for the MC's haremettes too.

As you could probably tell by the above, those who prefer to live vicariously through 'cheat' or overpowered MCs need not apply. Every... more>> victory in battle for the MC is hard earned and though eventually he does get powerful it does not compare to the cheats. This story is about the ugly/decent sides of humans when a bunch of teenagers are given superpowers and how the MC and his haremettes navigate that world, after all. <<less

It was an interesting concept at the start, but now it's directionless and meandering. There was potential, but the author never capitalized on it. This series lacks conflict, and is boring as a result.

I haven't read this novel in a while since the chapter release is low (hence 4 stars), but I was thinking of resuming it when I read some of the reviews it has. While I'm not saying the reviews with low scores are wrong, here is my opinion of some of the things said.

1.- The MC has a enormous trust issue towards other human. While this is completely true, it is also the reason he develops the particular power of being able to form bonds with monsters. 2.- The fact... more>> that the MC is weak in battles. Well, unlike other characters with cheat empowerment, he is a normal human when you take away his monsters and in a environment with overpowered monsters, a regular human isn't really going to make a difference. But that is also what makes this interesting since his monsters are there to complement him.

3.- If you don't like monster girls, this novel might not be for you. <<less

Getting tired of reading this which is unfortunate because I enjoyed it quite a bit in the first half. My biggest issue is the whole driving a narrative by having people misunderstand the protagonist. There's multiple fights that happen where it could be solved if the main character just talked to the opponent. But instead they don't. The worst example of this was like volume 6 where there were like multiple battles that took up the entire chapter and the whole premise was ridiculous. Like bro, have you ever tried... more>> using words? <<less

Gonna drop it for now. The MC has a very well-developed inner struggle, based on the chaos he goes through at the start of the story, but there's nothing interesting about a teenage breakdown of society. Just a bunch of idiots who couldn't set up rules and regulations with and/or despite their cheat powers. With that being said, losing the point of view to the family of monsters is more than I can bear. They are basically simple-minded servants in their individual turmoils. For some reason the author goes extremely... more>> recursive when
Spoiler

Kato talks down Lily and Rose. It's like reading a loop; the author goes back and forth with bringing the girl, talking about the responsibility, saying they can't trust the girl, etc. Etc. Can't progress the plot at all, especially when you consider how much sweet time they're taking blithering on and on.

[collapse]

Worth reading for the MC's introspection. Not much else. <<less
