I am Ye Qing. Lucky I found a [Monster Factory] application.

This bunch of super strong monsters are individually comparable to over 100 human beings, and they bring all kinds of skills!

Efficiency? With the skill processing speed +300, you still want to compete?

Precision? *cough, cough* Bring me that legendary dial caliper, let’s show them what absolute precision really mean.

Ye Qing: When, us, men want to be successful, we pull out our wallets.

Monsters: Don’t play those malice games with us. The creation of ultimate machinery is our love and life. These impenetrable bodies are our tools of the trade.

A 20 meter tall, overly buffed, savage looking monsters hold on to a ultimate cutting machine and yelled at the sky: “I am not targeting anyone specifically! Rather I am telling you all that, everything, in front of me and my tools are, nothing, but tr*sh!”

Any novel where the MC interactions with females is always somehow written as a bit ambiguous is straight up s*upid and I will never understand why do authors even do this. Huge NOP due to this for me.
Like come on, you don't have to act super differently around females just because they are god damn 'good looking' females........

The story is great.

Sadly it ends after around 180 chapters.

After 180 chapters it got dropped and a group called newbietranslators took over.

It was a f*cking unreadable machine translation. Not even a decent machine translation. Also no editing.

After a few chapters senseitranslation took over. They are a tiny bit better but still aweful.

I really enjoyed reading this but after 180 chapters I dropped it. No fun reading with such a shitty translation.

It also doesn't improve much. Even at chapter 600 the translation is aweful.

Despite my rocky start with this novel, I actually enjoyed it. BASIC SYNOPSIS (minor spoilers) :
Ye Qing is the son of a factory owner. The factory is going under, and matters only get worse when they find themselves suddenly saddled with a lot of debt. Luckily, Ye Qing gets a phone app called [Monster Factory]. The app can be used in a lot of cool ways. Ye Qing begins to use this app to get his family out of their bad situation, and to rise as a Big Boss who can spend money like it has no value. Pros:
1. Translations are decent quality.
2. Interesting premise, can't think of any similar novels except maybe Game Market 1983
3. Cool gadgets
4. Power of the app is OP, but there are some limitations on it usage (which are gradually getting removed, but here's hoping they add some more)

Cons:
1. Repetitive
2. Repetitive (oh sorry did I repeat that?)
3. Things are a little too convenient for MC at times, but deus ex machina is expected in these novels I guess

It' well written, it started by explaining a normal and likable MC and his circumstances and what led him to obtain this lucky chance. The Monster Factory can give him benefits but it also takes into account that it has to be kept secret. The Story is really interesting I hope you read it at least half the chapters before reviewing.

I really have enjoyed this novel, it has been a fun read.

But I don’t think I can read this until the MTL chapters are re-translated. It’s a shame really cause, as I said, I really enjoyed this.

Ye Qing is one of the many average quality Chinese sons who came from a family-run cheap factory-slash-workshop. The place that his father run had just experienced a series of misfortunes... And then Ye Qing's old smartphone is suddenly host of a system, the titular Monster Factory system, that gives out monstrous labor and technical experts, as well as almost-black technology.

In a move of desperation, Ye Qing dives head first into utilizing the system as best as he could.

That is the start of the series.

Also, damn it, that cover page... more>> with the fluffy brown monster really does not fit. With that kind of cover, you kind of expect Pixar kind of family comedy, but it is mostly industrialism.

Translation: Fluctuates, very rarely reaches adequate... Some of the translators feel like they barely edited the MTL. They are readable, and you can guess some of the more confusing aspects, but I feel like we might be missing narrative context as well as some cultural context.

Plot: Kinda limited, since the focus initially was saving the factory, but that was very rapidly overtaken as the black technology and monstrous labors and experts took care of stuff. Now, plot seems to be aiming for Ye Qing and Monster Heavy Industry (or Behemoth Heavy Industry, depending on translators) to reach for the top. Why? Because the system sets that goal. That's it. There is a romance subplot with a lovely younger girl who helped his industry take off, as well as an unclear relationship with the first love old schoolmate celeb. Anyway, aside from the system, there is also the case where the world keeps piling on good luck for the MC's goal of industrialization. It is kind of a minor footnote, but you will slowly notice that some stuff keeps aligning for him.

Characterization: Pretty well done for side characters, as they felt real enough for their one-arc coverage, compared to some of the tr*shy standards set out on system-based novels. Not everyone are arrogant young heirs or arrogant old masters to be trampled, or just sycophants to praise the MC and system. Other main characters are pretty well done, having their quirks and whatnot pretty well set. The MC himself though... Well, he is kind of bland, albeit he cleans up and acts up well after becoming a boss. Sometimes he is shown to have a temper that is basically 'trample the opponents and break their homes', but that only happened sometimes.

World: Aside from the Monster Factory, it is basically our standard modern world. Interesting that even if there are one or two references painting foreigners with a tar brush (but only on the level that the average internet joe would generalize, instead of raving nationalist zealots), the author didn't pull his punches on the complex industrial and political happenstances in China. Industrial espionage, economic monopoly, red tape, bribery, hacking, sabotage, hazardous dumping, material scam, violence, etc. The good guys (the MC) always won, of course, but the author really made it clear that being clean and hard-working is not enough. <<less

Read the latest raw chapter,

The story is well written and has many chapter where it makes you want to read more.

Spoiler

Right now it is about

  • they release a prosthesis that can act like or better than real arms
  • many countries wants to cooperate with the company including the US because there are a lot of disables in those country,
  • but the MC don't want to cooperate with the United State
  • the citizens are putting pressure on the US government to get the prosthesis introduced
  • US president decide to swift the moral to them and make the MC look bad.
  • unknown not release yet
    [collapse]
There are a lot of these cliffhangers where you want to know what happens next.

Also don't bother waiting for the translated version and just read the MTL after you finish the latest translated version because it is still understandable (after you ajusted to he switch) and wont lessen the intensity (that how I feel) and it will never catch up to the raw. <<less

One of the biggest reasons I am writing this review is because I decided to read it after several people brought up that it isn't that bad. And they are right. It's not amazing, being completely honest it doesn't even necessarily deserve the four stars I gave it, but it's fairly solid, and I'm sure that it's gotten more hate than it deserves from the original cover art alone. Probably the closest comparison I could make to another work on NU would be something like Very Pure and Ambiguous: The... more>> Sequel. Other fairly reasonable comparisons would be I'm Really a Superstar and Game Market 1983, though only in terms of story premise (MC recieves a cheat power related to a specific industry). In terms of execution, I would say it's more steady than VPnA because VPnA jumps all over the place with the MCs powers and where he gets his tech, while in Monster Factory has up to this point kept to it's initial premise. So while on the whole Monster Factory isn't amazing, it's solid enough to enjoy if you like stories with a similar premise. <<less

First thing is you don't need to know about industrial or commercial factories to enjoy this novel but having some little knowledge of them well make it more fun of a read

This novel explain some exaggerated things of what if a factory can do this with the most epic factory workers (hulk man yeah!) and state of the art futuristic machinery (robots anyone?).

As for the plot I guess getting rich and so one so in the norm which is good no complicated stuff. But we can expect some major conspiracy,... more>> scheming and betrayal.

At first I got lost reading as I barely understood things and with some bias thoughts from the reviewers I didn't expect much but to my surprise it was actually a good read.

The MC saving the day approach is seen in a different way not your typical MC saves the girl thing.

Its even more fun than reading a certain farm novel where MC bought a huge farm in USA yeah it was so disappointing a Chinese MC bought a farm in USA already drop that novel no point reading that one (I was like author you so bias in china? you think no good farm in china and must do the setting in USA...)

well its a very slow development but what matter is I am reading it so far.. <<less

Interesting concept but full of problems. Here's my take

-All his workers resigned but nobody questioned him how he did something, especially since it was a multi-million deal from the government.

-Low-level villain, It's quite sad how this interesting concept has a villain that is just purely a hater like some young master trope.

... more>> -The usual urban face slapping. They will question and embarrass the MC but the MC will stay quiet then boom. MC takes action and embarrasses them.

It's not that bad and it's not that good too. The 'machine' progresses too fast since I am only on chapter 26 but he does have this car that can transform. I stopped cause I thought this was going to be a chill businessman slice of life with a monster as a worker. I don't want to rate it but I accidentally click star so I will leave it a 3/5. <<less

I like the concept and the story only has minimal nationalism and maybe some hints of racism. However, I can only give it a 1 star as after chapter ~185 the MTL is basically... bad.

No edit, no thought put into it. It's unreadable.

The grammar of the first 185 chapters is not the best, clearly the editor didn't know what narrative tenses are, but it's still readable.

A pity, I love this concept.

young machinist gets a system... okay nevermind.
read kkgoh's review as I agree with everything stated there.

Good read, Long story. The whole novel is the MC trying to prove that China can make quality products.
I recommend Magic Industry Empire if you like this kind of stuff.

The company building is generally really satisfying and as he ranks higher on the Forbes list his "system" unlocks new tech and employees.

The cute monster on the cover is more or less the MC's profile picture on social media.
the monsters he works with are not cute at all.

Well, there is blatant racism and nationalism.. some problematic black face pretty early on and it mostly goes away. Despite this, read it maybe open your mind a little bit about policing the world, trade embargo, tariffs.. its set in modern times but is clearly fiction.

I love this story!

The MC is a little cringey, but only because his mannerisms are relatable. He's a young man without worldly experience who discovers a way to change his life forever. Of course he's gonna want to experience things he's only heard of.

The potential heroines are quite nice. They aren't particularly interested in the MC except for one, and the fact they aren't head over heels for him is a good thing. The relationships are very organic. Two are past classmates while one is someone he met at a... more>> street food stall. No plot armour bringing them together or what. They also aren't overstaying their welcome either. Like real people, they have their own lives that don't revolve around the main character.

The system here is a little convenient at times, but it's still manageable. I myself an engineer, but not of the mechanical variety, so a lot of this stuff flies over my head. The convenient excuse of otherworldly technology is pretty useful, but I can't actually confirm the validity.

Over time, he slowly gains his own confidence and his actions change to reflect that. He's still a little rash, sometimes, resorting to brute force, but what else is a hot-blooded youth supposed to do when people are trying to sabotage your livelihood?

Unfortunately from chapter 183, the translation quality took a nosedive and I can't bear with it. It reminds me of my days training in the Dao of Reading with MTL.

I can already see that there are so many chapters translated ahead of where I'm reading, however, I don't know how far I have to go for the quality to increase so I'm gonna drop it here. <<less

It's a story about MC got monster as an employe in his company.

It's sickening how this good potential novel got ruin with romance in it.

I hope the author learn on how to write. It's boring to read if you explain everything that I know it will not bring it up again in the future chapter.

Its pretty cool, ofc for a CN novel so take it with a boatload of salt.

As someone who really interested in manufacturing, and been in industrial jobs for 11 years, this is a decent read.

One of the novels where you start to hate MC right from the start - he is a perfect example of a "manager" that should never be allowed anywhere near that position, hiring incompetent workers because they are cheap and neglecting safety protocols.

Pretty fun to read. Not a high point of literature or anything. It's got quite a few glossed over details and it's not lacking potholes. However it's an enjoyable read

Unfortunately the read gets a lot less smooth after 184 or so since it switches to near raw MTL until at least chap 204. It's quite jarring since the original translation was pretty good and it may be hard to continue reading. No offense meant to the TL, just putting out a fact here. Still thankful for the work put in... more>> editing it to what it is.

Update as of chapter 214. There are still grammar errors, but it seems to be getting less frequent. Assuming the TL keeps improving or gets a TLC editor the severe drop in quality likely won't last too long. Considering they have multiple projects they likely won't redo the older chapters, but if you get over the bump it's at least readable now, and hopefully will keep getting better. <<less

Great Novel. The only thing I can say that is bad about it is the book cover and the description. It took me three months to finally decide to read it after reading the reviews.

Story is quite unique and interesting will not bore you at all. Already read it more than three times. If you want to pass time and don't want something too cheesy read this, it is worth your time.

Love this novel like my E-Book.

Now seriously, every Actions the MC makes are seemingly well planed and executed there are minor mistakes appearing here and there but that is ok, because from some main novels I am kind a used to see Major mistakes and plot holes all over the place (like Desolate Era and ISSTH). The Author is describing all the processes very detailed so that even as a laiman u can get a hold off what is Happening and why. It´s really addicting to dive in to the... more>> heavy industries, even if it is just fictive.

Besides all of that it´s also one of the first novel I have ever started to read... so I am really dissapointet about the drops of the two Translation Groups. Even when PGT published the Translation kind a unstable the Translation was very good and I could feel the Soul. WAY better than the pickup by newbietranslators which is like MTL.

I also repeatly tried to hook some translator Groups for translating it further... but they dont seem to see the potential it has...

Cutting it all short: Read the first 23 Chapters and u´ll understand why I love this novel (or u´ll hate it, but give it a try. At worst u waisted an hour of broadening your horizon). I has many very exciting cliffhangers and lots of funny plottlines going on there. And the mix is pretty balanced so that it does not annoy you while reading even if some parts are repetetive (u´ll just notice it after u read it thrice or fourth).

So I plead that someone with skill and ambitions will pick this novel up for Translation. <<less
