Rumors circulated that he only cared about money, had blighted affairs with his adulterous sponsors, and abandoned his fellow group members he had known for two-years after renegotiating a contract with a major entertainment agency.

He had taken possession of the body of a hopeless idol whose common moniker was “Beautiful Scum”.

He thought he got blatantly ripped-off by signing that contract.

Everything aforementioned had been far from his actual self. He was a sob-story right out of a melodrama; not even close to being ‘scum’.

This was the tale of how he, enraged by the body of the previous possessor’s shitty life, personally took revenge for him.

So far, everything had gone accordingly. However, in the process, he gradually tamed the people around him.

He posed/masqueraded/feigned his pessimism as optimism.

Sometimes he appeared stoic, and other times cordial,
Whilst simultaneously acting innocent.
He was the sole person unaware of the harem that, little by little, began to encompass him.

To be honest, I'm hooked with the manhwa. The art is beautiful and the story is confusing but really intriguing. When there's more chapters, I'll be waiting for what's to come. It's confusing at first since there's not a lot they reveal but once they do, you can really get hooked on what's revealed and want to know more. The plot is intriguing and since there's not a lot that's revealed, I'm excited once the MC's strange behavior is revealed and why he's so obsessed with making money. The characters... more>> don't feel awkward or lifeless, they do have actual personalities that I find interesting. The MC's personality so far is very interesting in my opinion. He's not that typical cold and detached MC, he's calm but not overly calm like he's confident. He has a sweet relationship with the other characters and he can be sarcastic and ironic. It makes the story more fun and interesting to read. He's obsessed with making money which is a trait I personally like. Both the novel and the manhwa are equally interesting so I'm excited to find out more. <<less

I actually really like the novel but the ending and extra chapters are disappointing me. Not that I don't approve who the MC will end up with (in fact I like him quite a bit), but rather about how things got wrapped up. Nearing the ending, I found myself got more and more bored and eventually couldn't even get myself to finish all the extra chapters.

But to be honest, what attracted me and made me so invested in the plot was the MC's adventures as an idol and how he... more>> unintentionally made his fans and other people around him love him. I genuinely enjoyed these moments. But once those things were achieved, I don't know, it doesn't feel the same anymore I guess? <<less

I came from the manhwa and just want to say that the story is very good and entertaining so far. If you're looking for some deep, significant story, I'm afraid this is not for you, but you can also try and see if you like it. Overall I really like, it's dynamic, the characters and the plot was clearly set from the very beginning so I didn't have to wonder what x thing meant or whatever. I also like the main character, bc he's calm but not to the extent... more>> he's cold and indifferent, that would be too cliché for a Asian story and also boring. He's also sweet with the other characters and I've sense some sarcasm and irony from him, which makes him more like a human being and the story more fun. <<less

Very interesting start! I will update/change rating as needed once I've read more. It's confusing so far but a good start. I think when there's more, it'll likely be easier to comprehend what's happening.

I really like the manhwa art! The web novel also good.

I've finished reading the web novel at Ridibooks. Even though, after buying, I just read directly from the website and used Google Translate, but it's still understandable.
Spoiler

You ask when Han Dae Joon know Lee Si Hyeon is Hajin? Buy and read chapter 50 to 53 on RidiBooks. Here is pov from Dae Joon.

Long story short, it about Hajin who posses the idol body who involved accident with him. The original Sihyeon died. Well, from my point of view it's not truly reversed harem since MC did not show interest to them.

I highly recommend to read both version the web novel and manhwa.

Spoiler

The ML is Han Dae Joon! Of course he know Lee Sihyeon is Hajin. And he become Hajin's pillar since he is the only one who know the truth.

I actually really love the manhwa. A loan shark ending up in the body of a suicidal and most scandalised idol is such an interesting premise. I would honestly love the concept of underworld characters (mafia, yakuza, loan shark) participate in mundane activities which is a complete 180 to their usual dark activities. Maybe because I'm a manhwa reader but I couldn't really see the flaw of this story as it's cut into dialogues rather than confusing narratives. There are cases where the novel receives bad rating while the manhwa... more>> is one of the most popular and enjoyed by majorities afterall. Too bad the novel was dropped. <<less

No rating because I have the hunch that this novel has a very specific audience that I'm not part of, but it honestly reads like something you might find on Wattpad.

Viewpoints and tenses change every few sentences without rhyme or reason.
Characters behave irrational just so the plot can unfold the way the writer wants it to, not because it makes sense.
Several chapters right at the start are wasted on lengthy online comments about characters the reader barely knows the name of.
We are expected to care that everyone speaks ill of the MC, someone who's a complete stranger and you likely won't give a damn about.
There's no proper introduction to anything, you get thrown into the middle of a story and just have to go along with it, the progression is so fast that it's impossible to develop any kind of feeling for any of the characters but all plot points live off your sympathy for them.
I lost count of how often MC's good looks were mentioned, the other characters are stereotypes, at least as far as I can tell after 12 chapters that failed to even hint at there being more to them.

Maybe someone who belongs to the targeted audience might like it, personally I'm just really annoyed.

This is really good. MC is cool, the plot is interesting and there’s an actual mystery going on. I also think the entertainment industry is portrayed quite realistically
