Hyperthymesia. Those with this condition can remember every detail of their lives from something as significant as the world’s turning point to something as small and as insignificant as a minor fleeting thought. They cannot forget and their thirst for knowledge allows them to be considered genius in some senses.

Legend has it that Ji Yushi was this kind of genius.

In addition, it was said that he was gay and very beautiful.

As soon as the news that he was going to support Tianqiong’s seventh squad broke out, it sent everyone buzzing.

Everyone knew that the captain of the seventh squad, Song Qinglan, was a hoodlum and deeply homophobic.

He not only relied on his super-powerful abilities to become the dark horse on the battlefield in less than two years, but he also hates it when those at the top forced a flower vase* into his squad.

Sure enough, Song Qinglan announced in front of everyone, “Useful? Us brothers are going out there working ourselves to the bone, we don’t need a little genius who can only speedread quantum waves!”

Later.

The squad was forced into a dire situation during their mission.

That beautiful little genius calmly continued, every gunfire hitting the mark, his fighting power peaking.

Song Qinglan begged in front of everyone, “Adviser Ji, stay.”

In the end, he added, “I’ll work myself to the bone for you.”

*****

Ji Yushi had a secret.

He would often be awake at night, suffering from memory overload and recurring nightmares.

There was only one thing that could let him fall asleep peacefully.

And that was Song Qinglan.

Time travel is not really my thing but I’d say that this book was very cleverly written. Definitely read if you like interesting plots that make you think and try to figure things out. I don’t think I’d read this novel again BUT I’d recommend it to unlimited flow lovers to read at least once.

The characters were also written pretty well and the CP’s relationship felt like it progressed naturally. For about 100 chapters, I think there was a good balance of plot and relationship romance.

What do you do when you're gay but you have to go on a time travel mission with the famously homophobic squad nine but then y'all get trapped there and the homophobic captain is somehow gayer than you are?

Who's the best 'bent' male lead and why is it Song Qinglan?

Don't let the internalized h*mophobia throw you off and the deep science-y, plot heavy stuff, this is such a good read. I wasn't the biggest fan of first arc (around 20 chps) but when I finished it I realized just how... more>> crucial it was. Overall, I definitely recommend this one <<less

The main reason I loved this novel (other than its well thought plots) was time. Honestly, as I finished it, it left me wondering about our current understanding of time and the philosophy surrounding it. What if Sheng Yun never did what he did? What if humans continued to mess around with Tianqiong and ultimately killed themselves? And on that note, what even is time? What is the past, the present, the future?

There are some messy bits I believe - the author constantly reminding us how amazing™ song qinglan's legs... more>> are (I'm not kidding, I wish I were) and the behaviour of the rest of the seventh squad which did make me iffy, especially during the confession scene. (Think fangirling in thai bls but these were self proclaimed "steel straight men") Honestly wondered if I was suddenly watching a thai bl lmao

overall, imo the plot makes up for it so yea! Its most certainly not a disappointing read <3 <<less

I found a gem. I admit, the plot and the details overwhelmed me I realized I'm too s*upid for this kind of novel. Despite my (-) intelligence I enjoyed this novel and I find this fascinating perspective of time and space.

I enjoyed the subtle tension between MC and ML so much. Oh, the connection and understanding between them I envy.

Anddd I had so much fun discovering the overall plot and the way the author describes a scene which the translators did an excellent job to translate, thank you for your... more>> hard work. I super recommend this novel. 💯 <<less

At first, I wasn't truly interested in this story. But after reading a few more chapters, I was really immersed in the story. The plot was kind of heavy but also entertaining. The part when the characters were at deadlock also made me a little anxious. I've some novels and this novel is one of the novels I've read where I rarely have hope that everyone, not just the two main characters, could have their happy ending. I always so anxious when reading that a character was in a danger... more>> and wished that they all could stay alive at the end of the story.

Reaching the middle of the story, it was quite dragged and I almost got bored. But it soon became exciting again.

Well, some of the time overlap and things like that may never be understood by my rotten brain, but at least I still could follow the storyline. It's kinda hard to digest but fortunately the author explained it very cleary in the story.

Also thank you KK Translate for the hard work! Hope you still well and healthy to continue your translation web. <<less

The best Unlimited Flow danmei I've ever read. Although I love this genre, I'm always hesitant to get into Unlimited Flow stories because I've read a lot that have puzzles/instances that just don't make sense at all. But here the puzzles are fun and engaging. They don't fall into the infodump and too much exposition trap, and most importantly: they make sense. They're not super perfect or utterly devoid of loopholes but they do mostly make sense within the logic of the novel's world and how their time travel system... more>> works. The first instance in this novel is genuinely, jaw-droppingly amazing. It has one of the best uses of time travel and time paradoxes that I've seen in fiction. I'd recommend trying the novel even if it's just for the first puzzle alone, but I would really recommend sticking until the end because of how well everything ties together. Time travel is such a beast of a trope to introduce in a story but the author handled it magnificently. Like most Unlimited Flow danmei, the MC is super smart and capable, and he's paired with an equally formidable ML who works really well with him. They're not particularly unique characters, and they don't have particularly unique circumstances (there's the mystery of Ji Yushi's father's death that he can't let go of as well as his Hyperthemesia, but other than that both him and Song Qinglan are fairly well-adjusted people who were surrounded by loving families growing up) but their dynamic was more than enough to make them fun and engaging to follow.

This is one of the most satisfying novels I've ever read. The time travel and time paradox elements were utilized so well. The ending tied everything together and all major plot points and emotional points were given sufficient closure. Although the romance is fairly slowburn, we get to see a lot of it before and after. I love slowburn romance but I hate it when stories don't give us enough time to see how they are as a couple. In Mist, we get to see a lot of Ji Yushi and Song Qinglan's blissful, domestic life too. <<less

first of all it wasn't boring at all!!

its my first time happening.... because everytime I read a slow romance novel I usually skip some of the chapters in between but I didn't skip in this novel....i even read the extras lol

they are perfectly matched

i also like the teammates (side characters)

cus they also have their stories in between.... so it isnt just MC and ML but the side characters too

and most importantly...i was able to understand most of the theories they were talking about....i was surprised that I was able too...!!

the story is well written author did a great job

the translation was also good translator did a great job

it is good for those who love sci-fic and slow paced romance ~

This is going to be shorter than my usual reviews bcs I read it a while ago and to be honest it kind of felt like a fever dream bcs I binge-read it and it the time-warp science melted my brain a bit.

HOWEVER, I can confidently say that I remember it being funny, and enjoying the read. I liked the dynamic between the MC and the ML. I also cried bcs it made me feel EMOTIONS.

The translators did an awesome job.

Overall, I'd say it's bit of a mind-f*ck but in... more>> a fun way - 8/10 <<less

It was very interesting. I absolutely loved the MC. The ML was fairly good too and the progress of their relationship was well written and funny.

As for the plot, it was quite disturbing, a psychological horror if I ever saw one - the novel definitely delivered in this. Although in later parts it kind of lost on some of the scariness, because death was never actually permanent no matter how many times they died.

Because it's all about time & space travel, it was quite confusing at times, I am not... more>> 100% certain I understood everything the author wanted to convey. The author tried really hard to make things be realistic and make sense, to avoid and explain time related paradoxes. But it was all very complicated and inevitably there were moments that did not really make that much sense or small details here and there that I guess the author forgot to consider. Of course, the fact that I read a translation (as well done as it is), could have also meant some information was lost. I contemplated lowering my rating to four stars because of this, but since I enjoyed this novel a lot anyway and finished it without getting bored or too frustrated, I left it at five stars. <<less

This is a heavy plot, it might even fry your brain at times trying to understand it. But It's perfect! The concept of time paradox is clear and no loose ends were kept. The plot is too good and the chemistry between the leads and the character development everything is totally worth it!

Damn, this is my very first unlimited flow novel and it doesn't disappoint!!!!

That feeling when you thought you understand the explanation but at the same time don't?? That sums up my whole experience. The translator did a very wonderful job translating this so that the readers can understand this novel. I think I just need one re-read to be able to understand some small things.

I love love LOVE the characters in this especially the team 7 and ji yushi's dad. I'm not gonna say anymore because I may spoil some... more>> peeps.

This story does have some loopholes but it's really fine considering it touches the topic of time travelling involving multiple timelines. The amazing thing is the author minimize the loopholes that it doesn't really affect the overall outcome of the story.

This may be my longest review yet here in NU because I have so much praise in this novel and I just enjoyed the journey so much. Again, thank you much to the wonderful author that created this masterpiece as well as the super amazing translator KK!!!

THIS IS DEFINITELY A MUST READ!!! <<less

This book was too brilliant.

Usually, I don't actively find myself searching for sci-fi books to read, and neither do I find myself particularly enjoying the experience of feeling dumb. Still, this book right here was an exception. I did, to the most extent, enjoy feeling a little dumb and lost. The arcs in this story were complicated but were also extremely mind-boggling while also being not-so-hard to decipher (but for that to happen, one should read this while sipping coffee).

In my opinion, MIST was the perfect combination of action, science... more>> fiction, and romance. The characters were highly endearing, and even though the author's descriptions sometimes would not sit well with me, it was something I could overlook to enjoy the read.

I do, in fact, have lingering doubts after finishing this book, but I am unable to figure out if it is because there are actually plot holes or if I could just not grab concepts already written in the book that would answer my questions.

Overall, this was a thrilling read with enough romance popping up at the right times and perfectly fit my description of a book worth reading. <<less

I don't know how to phrase my review without giving away the plot, but this story was well thought out and well written. The mystery, the puzzle, everything just makes you think and go "whooa!" when it's revealed.

I mean yeah, MC is a little OP with his hyperthymesia but without it the whole story would have never happened because everything happened due to his memory of his father's death. So, everything comes back to a loop.

Absolutely brilliant. If you love smart strong and confidently gay MC (uke), straight up badass. And also make lead is who also smart and not an ass. Then u will like this. The world building and plot is fantastic.

If anyone was afraid of the ML being homophobic it's not that bad (also misunderstandings). So read ahead.

If anyone could give me similar scify amazing plots like this. Would Def read.

Wow, an amazing read. Binged it all in a day

I'm not gonna lie this book's inner workings are confusing. Like, hella confusing, especially for someone like me who doesn't really read web novels with any real brainpower. There's a lot going on with time and space which I didn't really understand like 50% of lmao, but it was still such a good read.

It felt like a combination of GUEE and Thrive in Catastrophe. Smart, actually interesting MC and powerful ML combining to create this cool, badass couple is something which... more>> is always so satisfying to read.

The book itself was written very well also. It definitely kept me hooked the entire way through, and even though I was thinking of dropping it bc of all the Words my brain could not comprehend (😭) the tension and chemistry between the couple kept me coming back for more everytime.

Small point but I also adore how the novel's name comes into play at the very very end. Makes it feel like the loop has ended. ;) TLDR: a quality read. Brilliant main characters and supporting cast, and if you don't mind lengthy explanations and things going over your head sometimes, definitely give this a try!!

Also can we just appreciate how freaking beautiful the novel cover is. Small details like this are what draw me in to read novels sometimes lmao <<less

Mist is one of the best I read so far. Its confusing at first and I even want to drop it. But for some reason, I got completely hooked by the plot. The traversing of time, and various other time and space concepts were explained very well in the story, the missions are also very interesting, like it teaches you a bunch of science concepts you've prolly never learned before though some of them might not be accurate. And thats what makes this story amazing, aside from those time and... more>> space concepts, there is also the characters. They are portrayed realistically and the romance is a plus point. This is really a must read for those who likes novels with survival themes and the likes. <<less

Wow, I have just finished reading this novel and I'm left with such a warm feeling~

I'm gonna try to keep this short and informative (without spoilers) hehe since I'm writing this in the middle of the night, because who needs sleep am I right?

The pacing was perfect, and there was no boring chapter. The scenery and missions were mystical and puzzling, and the plot felt very thrilling with almost no plot-holes! The theme of time and space was incredibly fascinating, and it left me thinking and researching on my own... more>> to get even more into the novel. The side-characters were *chefs kiss* and really created a nice and humorous atmosphere, while they also gave more depth to the story. The MC and ML were incredibly adorable, but their dynamic felt very balanced and realistic. This novel has been a harmonious mix of action, mystery, angst, fluff and humor, and I definitely think it's a MUST READ! There is a lot more that could be said about this story since it's quite complex and has a lot of meaning, but this was only a short summary.

(It will make you feel a little s*upid at times because of the big brain theories and stuff, but you can also show off that you're reading it ;) hehe) <<less

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this novel, worth my first review.

It's the kind of novel that has a perfect balance with humor, plot, drama, and romance. The character development is superb and even the side characters add life to the story not just brushing them off. The plot and the world-building are phenomenal and it really makes the readers think and try to understand what is going on.

MC: I love him and his little book hahaha.. Very smart, and though he is OP he can also make mistakes and rethink and... more>> I'm happy that he also has weaknesses and rely on ML and other people. He works hard and everything is really not smooth-sailing for him, he is challenged always.
Spoiler

THE THREE BOYFRIENDS HAHAHAHAHAHAHA THAT CAN BECOME ONE
It really scared me that he got killed accidentally, I thought it was the end for him.

[collapse]

ML: He's one of my favorite MLs, he's not too prideful and can admit to his mistakes. Very romantic and I'm happy that the author didn't equate him to other MLs that fall in love with the MC very quickly for illogical reasons. For ML it was not a love-at-first-sight case for the MC but on the relationship, they built together. And it's my first time to see a homophobic ML then being bent by the MC lololol
Spoiler

I laughed sooo hard with his confession to the MC.... with his cheering squad on the side.

[collapse]

Side Characters: I absolutely love them hahahaha, especially Li Chun.
Spoiler

It's my first time liking a genuine slagman hahahahaha!!!

[collapse]
They add to the story and the story wouldn't be as great as it is without them. Each of them has a depth of character. The 7th squad really admires their captain.

The only flaw of this novel for me is that there aren't enough arcs and chapters. <<less
