The protagonist is a face-con – he likes good-looking people, can’t say no to a pretty visage and is filled with thoughts of love. One day he bonded with a target-capture system where he can travel from world to world and experience love with the most handsome (key point!) target!

The number of players in each game is not set. The protagonist has only one target – the most handsome one. As he falls in love, he realizes… the other players perhaps, maybe, probably… have Horror? Survival? Escape-type games?

If I had to describe the impression that this book left me, it would be something like this: taking a book in a library, starting to read, and when you get halfway there, realizing that the rest of the pages have been ripped off and you’ll never know how it ends.
Our protagonist encounters the System that offers him to play a game of dating in a strange world, and all this after having died.
We are not going to lie, the premise of this book is a little inaccurate but the first world that presents us is very well created and leaves you a feeling that something crawls on your back at the same time that you want to see more of the protagonists. But, the atmosphere of terror is lost as the story progresses, and the romanance part becomes something strange as we continue reading, until in the last world you no longer know what is happening.
We will never know what this System is or what the protagonist’s "disease" is, how it ended up here and, yes, there is an extra, but does it really serve as a real ending?
A story that could have given more and only leaves plots open and unexplained.

Good, could make it 5 but the ending is so rush and underwhelming compare to others that it just ruin for me to give it a 5. The premise was good, and beginning and the last arc it was good but the way how the author decide how to wrap this story up, as I said in the beginning is rush and it became underwhelming instantly.

Some warning note: This is a pretty much braindead novel but isn't that bad. Don't read if you dislike s*upid/naive MC, or if you have attachment with the side characters

This novel is pretty decent, not as bad as what other reviewers make it seems to be. This deserve 3/4 star but full star for the translator spoiler.

I have love hate-relationship with the MC. He's s*upid but still has some brains, he's kind but ruthless (not that kind of cold blooded ruthless), he's a total face-con where brain will go offline... more>> which maybe can make you see it as strange, but overall I kind of like him.

The scene where make me want to punch MC is actually at arc 3 where he act like a scum but regret it (poor ML though).

As for ML, at first I thought he's kind of bad turn good but he genuinely like MC (not using him to kill other players). As for which version of ML I like the most is probably ML from arc 3.

Spoilers for the arcs (5 arcs) :

Spoiler

Arc 1
ML-Sun Mo (Boss/ghost)
In the setting, he's classmate and sit on the front desk after MC.
Background-School Horror full of ghosts
Villain- Sun Xuebao (ghost/ML's cousin in the arc setting)

Arc 2
ML-Austin (Boss/water monster)
In the setting, he's a foreigner who's sitting on a wheelchair. The relationship with MC start early since ML already know everything (mostly from MC's mouth). Their separation is pretty sad (MC confess to ML and ML accidentally reply to him).
Background-Luxury Cruise full of water monster and some ghosts
Green Tea/Backstabber-Wu Wenshan

Arc 3
ML- Mo (A literal doll/Boss)
Spoiler: because MC reveal the truth of the system to MLs, Mo is actually Sun Mo from arc 1 but a different one.
Background-Humanoid Village full of dolls
Cannon Fodder behavior-Guan Chengze
Funny thing: there's another humanoid female doll, Jin'er, who kind of dislike ML because he took away MC's attention/love rival (most of the dolls are fighting for MC's pure face-con love)
Ending-Sad ending for ML

Arc 4
ML-Gu Ze
Mixture of the current original ML who like to tease MC, Sun Mo who give candy to MC, Austin's action, and Mo's obssession. ML sacrifice himself to let MC escape
Background-Castle Escape
Villain-every players
Note: From this arc it's shown that MC now knows ML is the same person. After reassuring that ML's data can go back to the database after death (which mean he can meet MC again), MC urge the system to go to the next world.

Arc 5
ML-Shen Ci
The ML in this arc is interesting. All ML from previous arcs appear with the same appearance as "Shen Ci", the only difference is the building location they're in.
Appearance order: Shen Ci (from this arc/7th), Sun Mo (arc 1/6th), Xiao Mo (arc 3/5th), Gu Ze (arc 4/4th), Austin (arc 2/3rd), Shen Ci? (Unknown/2nd), ML (main body/1st).
Background-Hospital (7 stages sanatorium)
Additional-Jin'er from arc 3 (the doll that like MC) appeared as the head nurse at floor 7 (the place where MC reside), she treat MC extremely well.

[collapse]

What makes me a little sad from this novel is how the author treated the side characters as equally cannon fodder. There are some side characters that's pretty decent but they're abandoned by the author. Although some of them deserve the death though.

Ending spoiler:

Spoiler

ML ask if MC want to go back to his world but MC only ask to see his family. He ask ML to make all other MLs into one and him live together. ML offer MC to become data, now MC has become an npc and be together with ML.
Note: ML name can be called anything, but this time he use the name Shen Ci

[collapse]

Overall if you want a light novel to read, this is a good one.

MC 3.9/5

ML 4.5/5

Plot 3.5/5

It's good, I was now on the arc 4. The arc 1 and 2 was fine and good and I didn't feel sad because the MC could still tell his goodbye to the ML but when it comes to the 3rd arc I was actually mad and sad because MC didn't even bother to make time to say his goodbye and just left like that after hearing the ML's confession like he just tossed something after using it well that's just for me.

Lol. What a twist.

I love the concept of this novel.

Spoiler

MC is playing love simulation game. He is funny in my point of view the way he run around to ML. BUT! A BIG But! I can't laugh at all because I felt bad for those players who was playing with MC.

MC and the other players game is overlapping. They are inside the same place but playing a different game. MC acted like he was playing the same game as them to prevent death because of jealousy. It's a good idea, and also it gives a lot of thrill to see MC encounter horror events while pursuing ML, lol.

MC's face-con condition isn't exaggerated for me since I knew someone who is actually like that. She really loves seeing someone gorgeous and handsome. ML is different in every arc so I don't have much to say. I just want to say good job letting MC passed the game!

[collapse]

It's entertaining. The horror part aren't that stimulating enough but I think it's because I'm reading it, not watching.

It's great. <<less

I binged this book in 4 days, and I loved it

MC is a face-con meaning he loves people with beautiful faces ONLY. He dies and a system wakes him up saying he's playing a 'love capture game' and that he needs to get his targets to confess their love to him in order to clear the game. He later realises the worlds's he's playing in are also occupied by players who are instead playing a horror game (content warning for gross horror-related stuff). Anyways MC ends up always picking the... more>> boss of the horror games as his love target, which leads to the MC being protected by him during the scary times <3.

Be warned that the MC gets very distracted by the ML's beauty, so dont expect too much critical thinking about how to escape the current horror world. Bc eventually by wanting to win the ML's love he becomes an accomplice and has a "i do not see, I am looking away" attitude when seeing something sketchy.

Please please read the novel if only to the 3rd arc, bc the ML is

I'm gonna properly write a review for this later, but all I can say right now is that ML in the first arc was heartbreaking. I actually bawled at the end of the arc. I really don't like the MC. He just feels way too heartless and vain. It really puts me off. Anyway, ML is a delight and I love him so much it hurts. I recommend reading this just for the ML tbh. Oh btw, make sure to prepare tissues. You'll f*ckin need it.

Dropping an early review:

The MC is frivolous, he'd swarm to whoever's good looking, regardless of age and s*x. He's entrapped by his own preferences so much so, he tends to end up impairing his own thoughts and thinking process. So far the ML has always been the most good looking one, and in all fairness MC himself has admitted the fact that he'd not stick around ML if it wasn't for the visual, conclusively stamping this MC ultimately as a scum shou. Besides this major feature, it's hard to say... more>> he's either dense, ignorant or naive and it varies between arc and his interactions with ML and the background characters.

The horror arcs are not that interesting, they do make sense but it lacks overall sense of danger or suspense as our MC is wearing thickly padded plot armor so the only thing to look forward to is the love progress between the mains.

Sad to say is that there's really no love up to arc 2. MC is simply enjoying himself chasing and admiring good looking people. <<less

Quite a good read, funny & engaging. The story is captivating from the first chapter. My only complain is the ending feels too rushed, the conclusion doesn't feel satisfying. MC have a severe face-con, ML is different each arc, the conclusion feels a bit forced & rushed, but kinda okay, at least better than a cliffhanger. The humanoid doll arc is so heartbreaking QAQ.

I love this story. All of ML characters are so good. Despite having so many style of MLs, the author give all of them a various personality (yet crazy in love with MC in their own way) which I found very interesting. MC character is somewhat annoying in some scene but that doesn't mean I don't like him 😅 But yes the great thing about this novel is gone to our MLs

Every arch have some cliche plot that you can found in horror/survival novel but since this novel focus point... more>> is not survival plot but the relationship about our face-con MC and oh so gorgeous MLs, I think it pretty good.

I'm a bit disappointed with the end. It's too rush. Like hey.. You already created those gorgeous MLs and gave them so many story and personalty, how come you just sum it up in one extra chapter?? It's so sad it just end like that. <<less

The ending is... eh. The premise is nice but execution-wise, it feels rushed at the last arc and not enough exposition and in-depth relationship development. I feel this novel can do well with more polish and rewrite a bit.

For one, the chapter in one arc averages around 20-30 chapter and there's only 5 arc.

Then, the way MC didn't really looks like he have remorse/conscience (?) in basically 'tricking' the ML to confess and just leave them behind; directly liking another target right after leaving & entering the next world.

... more>> Even he (MC) himself stated that "The sentence "I like you" is the biggest lie from him (MC) ".

The translation quality is very good, tho. Thank you for your hard work, translators!

Overall, this is a fun read if you are only there for the fluff and humor (?) and are not really for the plot.

It should be mentioned that the MC is a chronic face-con and his relationships with the MLs are shallow and deeply one-sided from the ML side

Spoiler

(what else can be said if only the ML that is reluctant and didn't want MC to leave? Even to go so far as searching and waiting for hundreds and thousands of years for him? And MC just feel that 'twinge' of guilt when he saw the special CG)

[collapse]

All in all, this is just my opinion based on from my readings of this genre and other novels throughout the years. It might just be "the one" you are looking for and an enjoying ride for you. <<less

An MC with an incurable face-con is dragged into playing a dating simulator in a horror survival game.

AH- I'm a sucker for this kind of nonsensical, biased-to-the-core-for-MC plots, where the primal focus is the main CP only. I honestly enjoyed it. You can consider this a guilty pleasure read to be fair. The plot is shallow, but not difficult to digest. It's just lacking in a lot of areas, but don't let it deter you from the dog-food & fluff. I think the concept is incredibly fun & sweet. God... more>> knows how much I would KILL to be in the MC's shoes. But moreover, I just find the other bystanders' reactions to be hilariously entertaining. Imagine if you're an actual player, trying your very best to stay alive in this death-match-instance & you witness a rando spending most of his time flirting with an NPC & clearing it with ease. Was the MC a hero in his past life or what? I feel like holding a pot of vinegar every time I think about this situation.

MC is a shameless face-con at heart. The majority of his actions are spurred by his impulsive pursuit for beautiful people. Aside from this quirk, he's an average guy.

"Although his heart was bold enough to shamelessly rush forward without thought, his repertoire of knowledge remained purely theoretical. While his actions showed great initiative, as soon as the slightest bit of intimacy was suggested... He turns shy & embarrassed." - c4

His fear, reluctance, & earth-shattering short-attention span makes me root for the guy. He's not the typical sharp & calculative MC you'd find within this genre. It's refreshing to have an MC be this vulnerable & nervewrackingly dimwitted at times. ML, of course, finds this all to be endearing qualities. It's his little hubby anyways.

My favorite arc:

Spoiler

THE HUMANOID VILLAGE mu*derED MY HEART. Best version of ML is Little Mo, everyone can fight me on this. He's so soft & dear- I just want to hug him ;A;

Firstly, the translation was brilliant, so thank you to both translators. As for the novel, the first few arcs were pretty good but by the 5th arc, it got too repetitive. I think even the author felt the same way because the conclusion felt too rushed. There was no sense of satisfaction at the end. If you like this type of plot, I'd suggest reading "I Rely on Kisses to clear Survival Games" instead. It had the same sort of setting but much better execution.

Ok, to start with, I momentarily dropped this so in the future the rating may change.

The story is interesting enough, what with the MC having a different game and all but still living (almost) the same things as the other players (with a love plot added and no real danger).

It's interesting to see how other players see the MC and how he sees them. Once he realizes what's going on, he tries to help them when he can but in the end he'll choose to complete his own game if... more>> he had to and is pretty biased towards the NPCs.

The MC and ML's relationship is also pretty good. I like the ML and how the MC is still really honest about his intentions, all things considered. Or was, at least.

Right now I give it 3 stars as I really could not bear the ending of the Humanoid Village instance.

Spoiler

I totally hated the ending and how our little Mo (the ML) was left wandering "forever" waiting for him to return, carefully dragging his empty, little doll body with him

[collapse]

I know it's most likely a momentary thing and/or needed for character development or wathever, but I really could not stand how he left things there - thus my reading hiatus.

All in all it's a cute story and once I've cooled down I'll probably come back to this as I'm curious as to how it's going to end. <<less

I want more! You can't leave me on a cliff hanger like that, now I'm going to stay awake wondering what will happen all night. The MC is a face-con. He gets pulled in by their faces and stays for their faces but once they have agreed to his confession he falls for them. Don't read if you don't want your heart broken but most definitely read if you want a good book full of feels.

I'm still on the 3rd arc and currently withholding my judgement. But so far I couldn't bring myself to spare a speck of encouragement for the MC. He's mad dense, made plenty of dumb decisions and acts, moreover I didn't see any character on him other than the much stressed "face-con". It's like he's a plain brick slab with only that trait to establish his continual existence.

One of the problems with this type of quick-transmigration type novel is that not every arc can be gold, and I can kinda see... more>> it from my current position. Or maybe the MC's just that boring and he s**ked out the enjoyment right out of it. Anywho, I will keep reading to see what's up because I somewhat adore the ML. I hope to see further development on MC's part.

[Edit] Okay I finished it, my opinion still stands. MCs still an uninteresting face con but holy sh*t the ending.

Spoiler

It was so dang rushed. There are seven MLs in the last arc and MC went thru them one after another like some kinda gameplay to get to the control (?) room by giving s*xual favors to some of them honestly what the f*ck even i-

Really a breath of fresh air in the transmigration genre. Plot is rather simple, and there are loopholes, but it's very simple and funny to read. Got a bit draggy towards the end, and the final resolution was... anti-climatic and a bit boring (I think the author tried to get a bit deeper with the plot, but that didn't really work out well). But overall a novel good for laughs and to kill time.

Unique premise where the MC is living in a dating sim romcom while the poor souls around him are stuck in a survival horror game. I don't why there's been so many excellent comedic horror BL novels released recently, but I'm grateful for it. Unlike those other BL novels where the horror is made funny and harmless through comedy, this novel manages to preserve both those separate horror aspects and comedic aspects quite well through Multiple POV. MC is a gem in that he's like a typical shounen fail!ladykiller, except... more>> BL-version. He's hilarious! 3.5/5. Rounded up because the Extra is cute, and 1st arc ML and Doll ML are especially adorable.

Cute story premise, MC plays a romance game with a slight horror feel, everybody else tries to survive in a play or die world.

Explainations are given for the MCs system + why the different MLs exist + why each ML likes the MC more and more.

... more>> Not much background information is given about the MC and ML, and the ending is kinda unsatisfying.

Pros: Cute Story, cute ML (s). Interesting premise.

Cons: Unsatisfying Ending, loose ends, countless questions left unanswered. The Extra answers some, but not all.

Ehhhh bits:

Spoiler

Could be considered 1v1? All of the MLs are part of the main system, but yet they're seperated? Until the end.

Loose ends, loose ends. What happened to the White Lotus?

[collapse]

MC: MC isn't those super smart, solving everything with intelligence and faceslapping type of MC. He readily admits that he isn't the smartest, and takes a bystander stance.

He doesn't try to help the other players survive the games, and doesn't try to help the NPCs win the game either.

MC really, really likes good looking people. Really, really likes. It's the premise of the whole story. Call him shallow, and he'll probably laugh and go, yeah.

Although he does say that once he's in a relationship (with a game round) he'll stay loyal and won't stray. His eyes might, but he won't.

ML:

The ML is... complicated.

Spoiler

There's technically only one ML? And he's the main system. The rest of the MLs are part of him, and in the end, the MC becomes data and spends the rest of their eternal data life together touring various worlds. But all the individual MLs from the different worlds are technically seperated from each other.

[collapse]

Personality wise, the MLs are controlling, I want you to stay with me, but I'll let you go because I love you and want to make you happy type.

Not too Yandere, but a little Yandere.

Although sometimes, they feel as if they're different MLs, but then again, that's the thing with world-hopping.

Side character (s?) :

Spoiler

Loose ends! So many loose ends it feels like a unraveled sweater.

What happened to White Lotus? The other Doll? His roommates in the last arc? Can they actually leave or is the system killing them all? Answers dammit.

[collapse]

All in all:

Would rec if you like horror style world hopping premises, or want to start reading horror style without it being too scary. <<less
