A duel is a method bestowed upon humanity by a goddess to settle irreconcilable matters. It was not limited to individuals; at times, even nations would engage in duels, staking their very prestige on the outcome.

Duelists were those who fought using a technique granted by the goddess known as “Masquerade.” Sometimes they fought for their own honor, sometimes as proxies for those who could not fight, and sometimes as representatives of their nation.

This is the National Duel Academy, an institution for educating and producing outstanding duelists. This year, once again, many young people are enrolling, dreaming of becoming duelists themselves.

However, among this year’s new entrants, there is one who is exceptionally different.

This is the story of that eccentric’s life at the academy.
