Ye Shu transmigrated into the book he had just read and became the first cannon fodder minister who was brought down by the tyrannical male lead, suffering a death by a thousand cuts, turned into dust, that kind of thing.

Ye Shu resolutely packed up and decided to abscond before this could happen. On the road, feeling that he had been drugged, he accosted someone for help.

Who would have expected that he would wake up the next day with the tyrant smiling beside him. “Did you sleep well?”

To survive, Ye Shu was forced to enter the palace as a consort, and henceforth, lived a harsh life of being ordered around and squeezed by the tyrant.

When the tyrant annotated folding memorials[1], he refilled his tea and ground more ink.

When the tyrant ate, he tested his dishes for hidden drugs.

When the tyrant retired for the night, he was even responsible for warming his bed.

It wasn’t until his belly started to grow that Ye Shu noticed that the book he had transmigrated into seemed to be a bit buggy……

He hadn’t been drugged, previously… That was the first differentiation period as he became a Kunjun!

This is how this novel should be described in short. Cultivation of feelings, while I'm pregnant and don't know about it. Timeline of the story spans for 10+ months (crossing+pregnancy period). Most of it indeed is spent in bed (cuddling, sleeping, f*cking you choose and won't choose wrong), ruling from in-between the sheets that is. That's basically the first thing that ticked me off a bit, since it's out of range of... more>> my personal preferences.

Is it a cute short story? The answer will be 'yes'. It's indeed short, it has a load of love floating around and a truck of dog food delivered.

Do these parts make this story automatically great? It depends. If you prefer no real drama, easy story with enough love, that'd be it. Personally, there were few things that I thought were potentially good and other things that actually spoiled the mood a bit.

Pros for me, will be put under spoiler cut, since they involve major story spoilers:

I can say that I liked the idea behind MC's double crossing. That it was exactly him who lived in this world for quite some time, but later he crossed back, got his memories erased and because this triggered the derailment he had to cross for the second time. This idea is really great.

But there are few cons in this for me: 1) too little info on MC's past life before crossing, he only mentions why it was hard for him to trust ML, but it had little impact to me without foundation; 2) the world system said they have a task and never specified, if it's just ruling the world why create the rebel? I call it weak reasoning. 3) the aforementioned lack of drama, it was present but just.. As if it wasn't. 4) a bit of dubious content. 5) many of emotional scenes are concentrated on lack of trust, but later on it is solved yet appears numerous times again.. Though basically it sounds s*upid

I also want to prickle a little bit at ML and MC too. It concerns the child. I don't like when characters are acting irresponsibly and seemingly shallow towards children. I don't like this type of parent in life or anywhere else. The question of you want the child or not was really weak, there was even more emphasis on MC wanting to get rid off it. It was understandable why ML never told MC about pregnancy at first, but when it came to delivery and his regret after seeing MC suffer, I wanted to honestly ask him - Dude, pick one. You did so much for MC to leave it, you were happy knowing that there is sublimation of your love, but when MC is just a little pale you're all - uwuuw my poor wife I regret leaving this kid. Like what the actually fffff ahahaha

Thus I can't put it high in my ranking. RANK: 3.5 / 5 is what it deserves imo. <<less

Very cute story. The love between the ML and MC was inevitable.

No cliche dogblood drama here really.

In the beginning MC was just trying to survive but in the end he realised his feelings about ML are genuine.

ML is kinda bipolar in the beginning bcuz he thinks MC betrayed him, but really it wasn't that way.

MC transmigrated more than 10 years before and they both went through highs and ups of life. His mission was to help ML become the emperor. As an award he was granted with healthy legs. MC was disabled in his real world. He couldn't walk.

So when he achived it, he went back to his world and the system erased his memories. The many years spent in the novel world is equivalent to a few days in the real world. So when MC went back he was still a kid.

About ML in the novel world:

When MC went back, his body was naturally posessed by the system character and acted according to the plot, betrayed ML and rebelled against him. ML executed him personally. After that he became a full blown tyrant, waging war agains anyone and everyone. Not being able to handle being betrayed by the person he trusted with his life the most he broke down. He killed and tortured anyone that went against him.

In the end he set the cold palace which he used to live with MC when they were young on fire and died within the flames 😢😢

The system concluded this timeline as a failure and kept repeating it with different transmigrators but the results were the same or worse. In the end the system finally realised only MC can deal with this and found MC back and let him transmigrate again.

When MC heard about this through the system in the latter half of the novel, he was devastated. How many years has ML suffered bcuz he disappeared and felt extremely guilty. He went back to ML and cried on his shoulder while apologizing. ML was shockex and asked what happened.

It was only 60chapters, fairly easy to mtl.

There wasn't any love rivals or any complicated issues between them. They slowly resolved their past and secrets calmly.

If you want to read sth without too much complicated dramas I recommend this. <<less

Well. What can you expect? If you fall in love with the omega that try to kill you yet the Alpha in you make a mark on your archenemy omega. :D

Read it if you're a fan of the stereotypical Chinese relationship dynamic of the extremely high maintenance, pouty, b*tchy, girly partner being demanding and lazy, while the high powered, high status, masculine partner bends over backwards to meet those demands, shower them in luxury and status, and (somehow) finds their impetuousness "cute", and is "manly" in the sense that they continuously press their partner into vaguely forceful s*x the other person always protests against.

By Western standards, it's definitely an abusive relationship, but in a way that's acceptable to still read,... more>> like, and find a touch titillating, if that makes sense?

It manages to have nothing happen and a roller coaster of events at the same time. They really don't do much outside of flirt with each other, bicker, make up, and make out. Then repeat. Lots of dramatic, relationship whammies that make you think the couple, as cute as they are together, as somewhat exhausting. Like that high strung pair everyone knew in highschool or college.

Anyways, read it if you want a bit of thrill, sexiness without nitty gritty details, and some good, ol fashioned, melodramatic cheesiness for your soap opera heart. Surprisingly, it isn't as dumb as it could have been, so you can consume your quota of dramatic junk food without feeling too crap about your tastes. Just sit back and enjoy the total cattiness.

ETA chapter 50 just jumped the shark

Don't look at bad reviews! This novel might not feel good if you're looking for a serious and realistic story but this is a short novel made out of fluff and hilarious interactions, it's not written to be realistic nor emotional.

I find both MC and ML really relatable now that I learned the whole story I believe their choices make sense and are good. There is some conflict but it's mostly pure fluff! I recommend reading it for relaxing and letting out bad emotions.

MC is smart, but not overly Jack Sue. I actually really want to read the story when ML is still an abandoned prince. Well, , I guess 60 chapters makes me want more, because I usually read around 100 chapters

this is just adorable :') 60 chapters is just right for this silly couple. This is a pretty light read + finished the mtl in a few hours, no dogblood imperial drama except between ye shu himself lmfao I love this man and mostly on how ye shu and jin wang become the empire's top CP 😂

the translations by peach pits (up to c3 as of writing this review) is great! Got me hooked that I had to go mtl the rest

the mtl is fairly easy to read (imo) and... more>> I really enjoyed the growth between Ye Shu and Jin Wang 😭❤️ it's all love love love! With some deep distrust and secrecy but nothing their love can't solve sjskks I'll stick around for English translations!

their circumstances reminded me of another cn novel (marshal's cannon fodder spouse) which I'm reading but this novel is much much lighter! Super love! I'm so happy I found this!!!!!!

I've almost read this a few times, and finally decided to jump into it..

At first I thought this would be a cruel scenario and turn into love... but it turned out to be a very sweet story, even more like a comedy. I did shed tears a few times though to be honest it wasn't all that sad...

This is a love story from 2 boys growing up together to adulthood... starting with a mission to rule the throne.... finally realizing that the person who is always together is more important... more>> than everything.....

ML is such a kind and understanding king, this is very rare to find,
I am really happy MC could find his true love, the house he always dreamed of and a family... that's true wealth <<less

This deserves a 3.5/5. It's a short and uncomplicated novel featuring ancient ABO. The timid MC and oppressive ML slowly fall in love through their various interactions. There's no court conspiracies or harem drama of any sort to be found. There's a little bit of world building, but it's not expansive.

A worthwhile read if you're looking for something pretty short and fluffy without having to think too hard.

Reading the first few chaps, I thought this novel would be a somewhat steamy, dramatic, and fantastical love story where the male leads get to have a child and be emperor and empress. It disappointed me.

Starts with a s*x scene between the two MLs yet just glossed over all s*xual interactions following, makes me feel cheated.

Author tries to make story dramatic but the lack of a concrete story world makes the things the characters do more charming or childish than life changing.
The lack of logical thought for the characters. Characters act very short sighted. Ex.

What a cute and funny story! I love it. MC is is actually very cunning and funny character, his inner dialogue have you in stitches. ML is typical overbearing emperor, but his actually also sweet and caring.

3.9, for me they make it too complicated and too long for misunderstanding (although it logic bcs of the anxiety and incomplete memories), if they not a danmei this must be full of smut, lmao.. Their interaction is a bit frustrating but it still acceptable, and for th chap.. Is not complete yet, I think the will had 3-4 extra but in the raw they still at ch 60 and it was in 2022 Idk maybe hiatus, it's enjoying tho..

The start is nice; the kunjun stuff is described in a fun way throughout but uh, there's only so much I can read of the same actions (MC acts coquettish, ML and MC worry about the other hiding secrets, MC and ML ~fade to black~, MC goes to sleep and ML goes to work) before I get bored. Legit started counting down chapters to end from chapter 10 since it was so much of the same. When the MC finally came clean to the ml, I shouted "finally" out loud.... more>> But kudos on the author actually making me read forty chapters to find out the twist. Highly encourage reading the chapter comments if you go throughout with it. Also

I guess, it's okay, not too long and lengthy which is new btw given it's a Chinese novel. Most of the Chinese novels range chapter from hundreds to thousands.

A short and funny novel!

It was interesting that in that world the alphas and omegas are called "QianJu and KunJu" 👀.

Plus the main character is so tenderly funny, despite being somewhat dense you still love him. The ML emperor is a dog at the beginning of the story (and the MC himself confirms it) but after the story goes by he changes and he's so cute with our MC 🤧❤
