Kusumi Chiharu gets a message one day that he has been selected as a Monster Tamer, and he is prompted to select his first partner. He thinks little of the message until he receives a giant package the following day. He assumes it’s the p*rn books he ordered, but the huge box ends up containing the unconscious body of a near-naked girl! She’s a ghoul named Zonmi, who intends to fight beside him as his partner.

However, it turns out that other hot girls at his mostly-male high school are also magical entities, and Zonmi may not be the only one who wants to fight by his side!

This novel got cut short, just a fair warning. There's 5 volumes fully translated.

We get a boy who's apparently going to be a monster tamer.. And just so happens to only get female monsters whooo. Anyways, the story is pretty good it has a few twists and turns the pacing is quite horrible tho its fast but its hard to tell if it was because it was axed or the way the author wrote it.

I do recommend this if one wants a harem novel with some action scenes.

I got bored of this half way through the first volume, but forced myself to finish it to get a better idea (also read v5 prologue to be sure).

All in all, it's your standard monster girls comedy harem, with a bit of "ecchi" like you would expect. Basically, if you read the slightly more recent monster musume (including manga version), it's basically the same, with a background of fantasy battles. Characters are fairly dull too, again one of the "trademarks" of those novels sadly.

It's not like it's a garbage novel... more>> or anything like that, but it's very average and seems to be targeted at those that want panties and similar situations without going into adult rated.

If it's your thing, it's not too badly written, and the translation is fairly good, so go for it. If like me you are starting to get bored of those, give it a pass, especially since it was abruptly cancelled after the volume 5. <<less

You remember Pokémon? Well, this novel is basically taking the Pokémon anime and making the monsters waifus. Dont' expect a plot, character development, world building or anything deep from this. It's just a dumb ecchi harem that wastes that premise it sets on SoL antics.

This is a pretty standard and average supernatural harem/action story. You can see the influence of the genre from the time it was written.

Everything is done in a safely, if tame, manner. It's good but not great.

Chiharu isn't dense, just reluctant at the beginning, and the romance and the action are well balanced.

Five volumes might look short, but it does everything it should do.
