“Just once, I want to make it through the first stage of screening…”

“Please, teach me how to write a novel.”

The ordinary high school boy Ao, is actually a manuscript screener for a light novel newcomer competition. One day, he found the work of his classmate, Hiyuki Hinomiya among the submissions sent for his screening.

The aloof girl known as the ‘Ice Maiden’ actually wrote a light novel with fonts varying in size and onomatopoeic words for a contest! The surprised Ao started giving advice to her work after this unexpected event.

He gently guided Hiyuki who was hurt by the screening criticism. The world background, character setting, story structure and other issues were progressing smoothly, but…

A bright youthful content creation story begins!

Greatly recommended. There is no excessive characters while all those do appears has significance in the plot, and surely you'll like all of them. Each represents different personalities and acting on it to run the story. The author's way to use words in describing scenarios is vivid and comparisons are well made. The story itself doesn't even need to present fanservices just to stick to it. Just the perfect length to create a very good ending without rushing the plot. It struck a chord with me and I was moved... more>> for almost all chapters. <<less

A romance and slice of life beautifully constructed, full of feelings.

Both the female lead and male lead complement each other greatly, and although is so good that more volumes would be a blessing it also managed to end shortly but excellently.

As it would be expected from the Author of Hikarum, may I say

I really enjoyed this. It's a heartwarming slice of life that doesn't feel rushed or tense at all. The story concept is great and the execution was even better. The heroine has great character growth, and their love is heartwarming. If anybody translates new books by this author, I will definitely read it

well that was a good read. Although the story was shorter than normal oneshots characters were well written. The romance was sweet and fluffy. Pacing was a bit slow but It won't bother you. Except for the author mentioning That mole everytime and MC going full sherlock mode I liked it. Writing was't anything exceptional either.

It is 06:17 am local time as I'm writing this review, it's also my first.

It is not a long story, but hence all the more reason not to miss it. The fact that this story subtly implies the breaking of it's borders to the readers by explaining the work and thought-process of an author and his/her story us already quite intriguing - ti say the least.

The story is honestly pretty believable and I felt myself being reflected a bit in the end.

Some reminiscing in the thoughts of the characters were... more>> too plentiful at times, but this is my trying to come up with negative points.

Tldr This is a gem, easy 5/7, I'm kidding 5* obv <<less

Really great romance that takes advantage of its setting. The main characters monologue was suprisingly informative and very warm. Even though the dialogue was great I cant help but point out the constant mole details which have definitely apeared more than atleast 30 times lol

On a side note the novel is going to make my reviews in the future much more lenient since I realise some of the things I say are a bit rash. Well I highly doubt the authors themselves will see any but the novel really reminds... more>> you that authors really are just normal people who can be demotivated by a readers half hearted negative review <<less

To be honest with you. This wasn't a 5 star novel. Mmmm... maybe more 4 stars. It was a bit rushed, especially with the grandma arc. Well, it is only a single volume short story after all.

Though, I have read some extremely moving single volume short stories, that when I compare them to this, I can't honestly say this is 5 stars. However, overall, it's a nice, slice of life sort of novel. Not an extremely interesting novel, but it's a sort of slow paced novel, that I feel like... more>> should've been stretched a bit further.

Check it out. <<less

Has a very chill, light feel to it. The story is really focused on the main characters. Their personalities compliment each other. But idk why does the author have to mention the heroine's mole all the time dude got fetish and I respect that.

hhmm... how should I put it.....
honestly, it's kinda refreshing 'cause the new concept, and the interaction between Ao and Hiyuki were really sweat and fluffy.
aaahhh.... it's had been a long time since the last time I engrossed and captivated by reading novel. 'Cause I really understand what Sakutarou felt about losing the passion onto ones hobby and work....
But yeah, after this and that happened somehow I found again what is the meaning of "passion".

weeell, I know that some people complain about how bad the near ending chapters,... more>> but I know how some people will always found you and saw you in bad light, but as Ao said, "the world will change according how you view it" or something like that, (I really bad at reamembering the exact word of an idiom. But please bear with it, after you finish it, please don't forget to read the afterworld and you would know why the near ending chapter became like that~ <<less

a romance with a cliche dark and introvert character and the sunny character that brought up the other one. But what's really good in this one, is that the feelings are really well expressed.

With 6 chapters (and a small epilogue), you have 5 characters and that enough to make a great story that goes directly to the essence.

Everything is explained, everything has a reason to being so, you're just immersing yourself in the read and appreciate the moment without thinking about anything else but the story. Though there's some human... more>> psychology details here and there too ^^

If you have, say, 30-40 minutes for a romance story, try this one, you won't regret it. <<less

A very gentle read. I like the characters, specially the main character's gentle personality. If you want to take a break from action-packed light novels, then give this a try.

This actually good! Good story pacing and development! In-depth characters that aren't 2D-like and has complex personalities. The another person POV narrative are smooth that it doesn't feel out of place. And most especially, the blosomming romance between the two lead role. This probably one of my favorite romance LN. :D

Excellent story. A story having a good plot and story flow it maybe short but it's perfect the way it is unlike other novels which is tailored completely for the readers which is a double edged sword or so Ao would say. Having a long story is good for the novel and for the industry because of the profits and sometime having made the story too long will ruin the whole novel or series which is disappointing so as I was saying a story should have a well planned plot... more>> which follow a good story flow and end it when it should end and not extend it until it ruins the whole series. This story is an example of a story which is good as it is even if it is short it stays true to the objective of the story which is the love story between a screener and submitter which is pretty interesting in itself and it achieved it's purpose
Spoiler

of having them be together in the end.

Wow, such a sweet short story. It's not dragging and the ending is quite satisfying.

The character's potrayal is good. Ao just like sunshine; bright, cheerful, and easygoing. Hiyuki is like a rain; gloomy, dark, and cold. Ao slowly helps Hiyuki dissipates the dark cloud surrounding her. And finally she could see the rainbow after the rain.

Although the plot is quite simple and there are only 6 chapters (+ short epilogue), I think it still deserves its high rating.
