The story is interesting, but don't bother with the translation.

The translator cut the chapters, and in 16 months, there is only 7 actual chapters translated. I MTLed the story, and it's as easy to read as the translation. And you won't need to wait 36 years to finish reading this (17 chapters = 7 actual chapters in 1 years and 4 months. The story contains more than 200 actual chapters, you can do the maths).

Love how the female protag is actually a reasonable person. There is no over the top dog blood faceslapping. The relationships between ML and MC is pretty mature and stable. I personally got really invested in the CP between his friend and the brother of male protags ex-fiance. Quite an enjoyable read over all.

I really don't like how the MC just kept meddling. Like if you say you don't want to be involved with the storyline why do you keep constantly getting involved trying to play cupid when it's not wanted or needed. I really hate when MC's try to play cupid when no one asks or needs them too. I hate how he kept getting so involved with the female lead like okay you say you don't like her but to everyone else it seems like you are still chasing after her.... more>> It's ridiculous. <<less

the "I like him but he's not gay" misunderstanding that caused them both to suffer silently made me cranky and tired after a while. It felt like it went on forever and this novel is only 60ch plus 10 or so afterward chapters. I ended up skipping some chapters because the length of the misunderstanding eventually surpassed my patience.

I do like how the female protagonist is a normal person who isn't a scheming green tea b*tch or black lotus, though I don't understand why the MC keeps taking care of... more>> her above and beyond what normal people are usually willing to do for an acquaintance, (causing even more misunderstandings and trouble), when he said he wanted to keep away from the protagonists' storyline from the start.

the MC and ML are cute together and there is fluff once the misunderstanding is finally resolved. Overall this was ok, I just wasn't very invested in the story. <<less

There's probably nothing wrong with MC and ML relationship, even if the first part they spent in misunderstanding each other and in later part they were often apart. The problem lies with story pace and the story conflict.

Few of things that made me lower the rate:

  • Misunderstanding part. Which is half the novel, ok? It was so obviously dragged that it was painful. Both act as braindead when the other person confesses 'I don't like her', but both treat as if they misinterprete it. Have we forgotten - a drunk mind speaks a sober heart? Like drunk people usually reveal stuff. And they lived with that misunderstanding for a long time, missing the obvious care and love. These types of braindead tropes are infuriating when they're dragged out.
  • Time skips. Sometimes needed, sometimes really weird. I don't understand why writing time skips authors don't even think of filling it with more emotional information. For example, if both are separated, but thinking of each other, working helps temporarily, and when it's done the feelings come knock the door again. Instead we get moments like in the morning the suddenly work out, but next thing you know a week or so passes in work... wut.
  • Secondary pairing. Was it really needed? Do we need contrasting overbearing president, while ML is a good type of person. But in general actually, maybe I'm so dry and feel that many things are nto for the written story, but for the word count.
Good points: family acceptance, family unconditional love. Those are good. In general the story is nice and warm, it's just not really entertaining. There are general events that you know how they will end, there are story tropes that you know how will turn out. Reading enough you realize that this is a story of calm water without twists. Basically soothing potion for those who like this... more>> stuff. <<less

A very cute story! Though taking a star off for all the pseudo-science... which take up to half of the story length... And the implication that the foreign researchers have noses up in the air and look down on Chinese researchers and then get face-slapped!!

Otherwise, a very sweet, feel-good story, there's not much of antagonism or misunderstandings, and easy acceptance of the family members and friends. Book-ML and Book-FL don't have much of a role, besides a general setting for ML2 and ML3 initial interaction. There's an initial confusion of... more>> 'but he isn't gay' from both sides, though being mature, they talk and reflect and realize that both care for each other - leading to lot of fluff and sweet-cute moments. Sister love story is very forced and abrupt, the other side love story is interesting!! <<less

I thought the novel was pretty nice, and the misunderstandings were still acceptable, though it might not be the same case for everybody else.

To me, the novel was at a good pace, I didn't mind the golden finger MC and the misunderstandings so I don't really think there was anything bad with the novel, its just that it's not exactly good enough for me to give it a 5 star.

Perhaps give a few chapters a try then decide whether you want to read this, since from the reviews, the opinions... more>> on this nivel were quite different. Sorry for the bad English, and have a nice day. <<less

sweet romance between two MLs. Plot mainly focuses on MC's research and gradual rise to become a high respected and renowned pharmaceutical scientist, and his romance with ML.

in the beginning the FL appears, but the MC and ML dont really pay her much attention, and after her plot arc is tied up the story moves on without her. 4/5 stars!

Our MC, who was a renown doctor (who's medicine and technology far surpasses the one of this novel) is transmigrated into a 2nd ML of a novel.

After arriving the MC goes off script since he doesn't have any intentions towards the heroine (since he's gay) and finds his own way of living with his new identity.

.

Review: (minor spoilers ahead)

I think this was a fairly nice read. Due to our MC having all this medical knowledge/experience he innovates a lot in that field/skin care. A lot of people have been referring to that as the MC's golden finger in the reviews but I think its well earned since the MC has already had put in the effort/criticism in his last life.

Furthemore due to the MC's knowledge of the novel he behaves in a way he sees best/has some notions about others. Such as how he thinks the 3rd ML likes the heroine/is straight. That notion does add up to misunderstandings until later in the novel until they get together. The pacing towards their romance was done in a well manner with a bit of vinegar tossed here and there.

So with that I think our main pair is quite cute! They're both level headed adults and show sweetness.

The medicine/skin care formulation is fun to read about too with how the MC is changing people's lives with his work. I also don't mind the MC supporting the heroine since she was dealt a pretty messed up hand with the o.g. ML.

Overall I'm liking it and will finish it soon. :) <<less

A very average novel with a very good start.

I'd rate it as 3.5 rounded to 4 only because I've rated worse novels higher.

Full disclosure: I did not read any extras.

... more>> The novel starts with 2 equal subplots: MC doing his medical research and MC and ML developing relationship. This part was very interesting to read, no complaints there. If the whole story was like this, it would've been perfect.

But after MC and ML officially started dating the story started to drag. That is because MC & ML were living in different cities and their relationship had fallen into background. Their interaction were few in between chapters describing MC and his research. I wouldn't complain much if they were good, but they are not. To give you an example: in the beginning MC several times mentioned how much he wanted to participate in some research. In the middle after some discussion he was invited into the research team. Then, immediate time-skip to "Congratulations everybody, the research was a success!". Were I supposed to be invested?

Another annoying thing is that all MC and ML dates in the middle of the story were interrupted by MC's dad. After some time they realized that dad guessed their relationship and decided to come out. After that this matter was forgotten for a couple of chapters until another date was interrupted. With all this time-skips it is unclear how much time passed but MC finished the aforementioned research and build new laboratory so, at least several months. I was so confused, I really thought they came out behind the scene, but alas, we are theater to a couple of chapters of MC's dad throwing a temper tantrum while everyone patiently waits. What a joy.

Concerning female protagonist. Just because she is not a vicious cannon fodder does not mean that she is not 2D. Credit where credit is due, it was very nice to read a story where female characters are not used to mindlessly harass MC, but they are still props, just with different uses. Once they fulfilled that use they disappear from the story without a trace.

About the second pairing. It is introduced near the end of the novel.

Spoiler

It is between MCs colleague and big boss of the entertainment company (big bro of the original novels male protagonists fiancee). In the novel they met two times. The first time Colleague bumped into Big Boss in the corridor and that as*hole thought that Colleague is a starlet who wants to climb into his bed. Yes, really. Colleague (rightfully) enraged by his patronizing attitude and big ego had a one night stand with him and took money for the night. The second time was after Boss realized that who he f*cked was a researcher and not an actor. (According to Colleague) They accidentally met in a bat, where Boss seduced Colleague. They spend a night while Boss felt entitled to be offended of this "deception" and as a revenge f*cked him so hard, that he literally could not leave the bed for some time. After s*x he f*cked off on his merry way but not before promising that he will be back for round two. Colleague was so scared of this possibility that he immediately asked MC to help him hide.

[collapse]

Much feelings, so love. I have no doubts that their relationship is described in details in extras, but since the novel left me with a burning desire to castrate that a**hole, I passed.

Thankfully, this novel is relatively short, otherwise I would've dropped it halfway. <<less

MTL'd, pretty rough but you get the main gist. Love a transmigrator that overcomes his own difficulties in the beggining but mannn is he a meddler. His attitude towards avoiding the novel's main plot is a bit inconsistent. I was intrigued with the bio but it just really didn't do it for me. MC is a bit gary stu, career becomes smooth sailing and anyone that defies him gets their immediate face slapping.

I'm between 3.5 stars and 4 stars.

The couple is cute and the female characters are likeable and not just brainless cannon fodder, white lotuses or green teas, which I quite appreciate. We need more BL novels with likeable female side characters. Sometimes we get a mom, aunt or sister that is likeable, but it's rare for BL novels to have an "original female lead", "original second female" and other female side characters to have decent personalities, let alone multiple likeable female characters. This story has all of that and on... more>> top of that, it also doesn't have a lot of drama and conflicts, it's a fluffy story. These points are enough to give the story 4 stars.

Except...

The misunderstanding before the main couple was finally together dragged a bit too much. The reasoning behind the misunderstanding is actually acceptable, so I wasn't too upset about it. It's just it went on for a bit too long, especially since the MC didn't really care about the story going how it did in the original.

The distance between the MC and the original female lead is weird. He helps her way beyond a stranger would and he trusts her, the original female lead also trusts him. They both also know neither of them has feelings for the other. So... why aren't they friends? It's just so weird. They would go out of their way to help the other if the other is ever in trouble. They trust each other and they also believe in each other, but they aren't friends. They barely even contact each other. Why? If it's to avoid suspicion/jealousy from the ML, well... MC is gay so... I don't see why they wouldn't/couldn't be friends.

Another reviewer also said this but the time skips are also a bit weird. Some are necessary and understandable, some come out of nowhere and they are way too long, when the time could've been used to develop the couple's feelings a bit more.

The coming out to the family members also dragged for no good reason. They were both sure they wanted to be together and wanted to come out to their families, they were both independent and neither thought their families would have too negative of a reaction, but they kept sneaking around trying not to get caught instead of just coming out and be together openly. Like... why? Is it fun to sneak around?

And last but not least... I didn't appreciate how the author wrote the MC and his friends hated foreign food like the only good food in the world is Chinese food and people were racist against Chinese people for no reason. It wasn't even part of the plot and it wasn't even elaborated upon. It wasn't even for face slapping because there was no specific scene where they were face slapped for being racist. It was just like an offhanded comment by the author that makes the author seem racist instead.

So... that's why I'm hesitating between 3.5 stars and 4 stars. <<less

Well Well I manage to finish this in one day. Very good read I must say.

Alot of fluff and a good family. Both MC and ML are very adorable together

MC is basically Medicine god in this world and I am glad they didn't face any discrimination. Someone it isn't needed,

Lol what ever happen to Protagonist and Heroine? Nothing from them after half way, completely forgotten. Good read overall, not too complicated. Just focus on their sweet relationship and interaction

Although there was some confusion with the chapters at the beginning, it's quite an alright novel.

I thought there'd be some drama, comedy or more ups and downs, but it's pretty smooth sailing + concentrate on research novel.

The antagonists are just human prejudice, basically. Other characters slowly dies off (not literally, just appear less and less) until they just fade to black. No follow ups, no continuity, but it's very non noticeable until youre at the end.

Although I like their relationship, I don't think there's much substance to this sweet text... more>> except for how nice their love is. Other elements are a little forgettable, after tonight I'll probably not remember what it's about anymore.

While the research/career line aspect is interesting at the beginning, it didn't make any big waves or tap into its potentional to add to the world building, so it became a matter of fact after a while.

Still, it's a fun read for the experience. Not that long which I appreciate because it didn't drag on. If you have time and wanting experience a nice romance, you might enjoy it! <<less

It's okay, I dropped it around chapter 55. The story dragged, the pacing was bad, and the characters were too bland. I do like MLs like the one here. Awkward and cute in front of the one they like and not too overbearing.

Not sure if the MTL made me miss some details, but it seems like they just got together randomly after many chapters of misunderstandings, then they were cute for like 2 chapters then, bam! They are separated and it's all about unbelievable pharma R&D.

Wish the translation was faster,... more>> the translator is good but super slow. The "chapters" listed are actually broken up in like 3 parts. <<less

It’s... okay, I guess. Nothing much happens, nothing needs to be overcome, just... pleasant. I’m glad it wasn’t long because I had lost interest by the end, and I think the author had too. Nice to have female characters that were pretty great, which is sorely lacking in this genre, and honestly could have done with boatloads more of the female characters. Actually, all other characters just got brushed aside when the story became rushed mid way. And so nice to have older MC and ML.

Not sure if it was because I was reading machine translations but the novel was bland and didn't really attract me. I was super confused on how they fell in love with each other and the progress in their romance made no sense. The time skips were also confusing and we can't tell if he's in his 30s or 40s (in the latest time skip I read as I dropped the book at Ch. 66). The summary is not related to the plot at all-the original FL and ML disappeared... more>> early in the book and it didn't seem like they even liked each other. <<less

This is a good read. I wish someone would pick it up and translate it. I would've given in a 5 for the romantic, fluffy plot. But like others mention, pseudoscience and the fact that the MC is way too OP kinda throws you off. I mean OP MCs seems quite fine in QTs because the arcs are short and too many loopholes can't be found, but when you have a whole novel focusing on an OP MC, it becomes difficult to suspend the disbelief. Anyways, like I said, the... more>> romance is slow, slightly bittersweet but not too angsty. (I'm not sure of there's any angst in the later chapters) So try it in MTL before it gets translated. The MTL is quite legible but you have to do some guesswork. The positive side would be the side characters. I like how the female characters, including the FL are not shown as some kind of green tea bit*h, unlike most BLs. TL;DR- a good novel for fluff lovers! <<less

It was simply too nice, such a beautiful story.

If there was more interactions between MC and ML and more about their love life I would have given full 5 ⭐.

I loved the relationship development between the MC and ML. I didn't mind the bit of misunderstanding or the golden finger. To me it gave a wholesome feeling, I don't regret reading it.

... more>> It was a simple average novel act. To the plotline, but I just loved it despite being it quite average.

I just hoped it was completely translated, 'cause no matter if google translations were accurate, it just didn't give the same feel.

And yes the amount of chapters is somewhat long acc. To translations as the current ch 76 of translations is actually 29 of raws so.

Anyway I would still recommend it to u all.

Thanku author for the hard work. <<less
