TLDR: It's a whole lot of face slapping. Chapters have names that range from x gets slapped to whirlwind of slaps. If you really are jonesing for faceslapping you might rate this a 4 but there's much that brings it down

Biggest problem: The characters are uninteresting. The Qiaos are boring, truly embodying the phrase "The banality of evil". It's not that they aren't rotten it's just boring small rotten. They're like watching moths kill themselves on a light bulb, just boring.

The MC is supremely OP. She's so damn OP you... more>> have to wonder why she put up with the Qiaos for so long. She's also very hard to connect with.

Next up, the story telling, there really isn't. The novel is a collection of short face slapping scenes with not much to connect them.

Bottom line the MTL is readable and you can skim if you're bored <<less

FL is 18 at start of story. Somehow, she is a genius doctor who can make super pills “it seems to be alchemist/cultivation type pills”. Fine, let’s say this will be explained later but........

Her “uncle” is diagnosed with brain tumor suddenly - he has been in the hospital for a long time and no one found it during that time???? He need brain surgery to remove it fast or he dies......a 30 year veteran brain surgeon who is head of that practice in the region says he can’t do it and the patient can’t wait for the super elites from the capital to arrive. Our FL says she can do it and the brain surgeon supports it........... of course, she does a amazing job......

This was so s*upidly unrealistic that frankly, this event killed the story for me. A hospital/doctors allowing a kid to perform brain surgery just because she said she can do it and I think the brain surgeon knows she is an amazing healer - Chinese medicine and brain surgery tend not to mix.

Also, you have the typical sister is jealous and want to mess with older sister. I mean why can’t the writer change the formula a bit here.

FL was used as a blood bank for 10 years to keep the “little sister” alive. Instead of using jealousy, I would think the story would have been better if the little sister loved the older/FL even against the s*upid family members disdain. Just a s*upid formula.

  1. Giving it 5 stars because I don't think this deserve the 3 stars on here. I have seen a novel with pe*ophile ML that **lust** after 12 years old MC that got a better rating on here. I could see a 3.6-3.9 but not 3. This is a mary-sue novel that has doting family members/love interest aspect and real/fake daughter shenanigans. Very basic, BUT it is good for what it is supposed to be. If you like "madam your sock puppet is lost again" or "The Idol Pet became a final boss" --> you will like this.

    Don't expect for stuffs to make sense or based in reality lol this is what you read to destress n numb ur brain.

    the MC, a 17 yrs old, was allow to perform a risky BRAIN SURGERY bc the head of the neurology department allow it lol has she seen the brain scan? Nope. Did she came up a operation plan and talk it through w the fellow doctors/ surgical assistan? Nope. She walked into the hospital and say "I will do it" and she did it!

    I find this novel to be relatively well written compare to poorer-quality novels within the same genre (like these novels can be TERRIBLE). It's not Shakespeares, but at least the writing flows smoothly and is not confusing.

    I could see how people will absolutely hates, but I enjoy these types of novel, esp as background noises (i use text-to-speech apps to help me "read"). If faceslapping is what you're looking for, this is a pretty decent read

I actually don't know how to describe my feelings about this novel. Actually I was considering to give 3 stars but realized I've read until 1121 chapters so I gave 4 stars.

  • what is the op? This is the op. FL has the background bigger than the sky yet everyone seems to underestimate her and thinks her as a pushover. Plot is repeating one after another, brainless rich daughters keep provoking her, honestly why? I understand she is the Female Protagonist and super overpowered, but why doesn't she have character. All I needed was matching character that can fit in her identity, yet what I've received was piece of wood with extremely low EQ.
  • and second WHY? More than thousand chapters, where is the romance? Why can't their interaction be a bit more like a couple. I never knew I was this patient until I read this novel. Is she alien or mentally ret*rded person/sorry for the bad words/? As a normal person with a normal life/except 0 experience of dating/ I could never relate to FL in a 0.0001 point, it's just too tiring to waiting her character development.

Classic op main character that is great at everything but keeps everything hidden. She is lazy and doesn't care about anyone but those she loves. Often, annoyed by just about anything and everything.

Zero to little character growth as of chapter 804.

Plot is just a repeat of face slapping people with her hidden talents. Yet, still hasn't given a proper logical timeline of when she started to learn what and how.

Major downsides of this story is that the main character finds her biological family but doesn't ever spend time with them.... more>> Even though, they were desperately looking for her before then.

The main lead stays with the main character almost every waking moment or keeps track of her location at all times. He is basically guarding her like an invincible dragon whose name can't be spoken. Yet, he only just confessed and is waiting for an answer as of chapter 804.

Side characters are all made similar: Low intelligence and easily jealous.

The main part that I dislike the most in the story is that the antagonists are mainly females. While, males in this story are made out to have simply misjudged which female side to be on. Otherwise, they are shown as kind, reasonable, and wise.

This is a sharp difference to the females being shown as aggressive, overly confident, and refusing to admit any mistakes.

Side note: The author really likes to mention how good the main protagonists look at every chance. It is low key disturbing, the amount of times that this is mentioned. It wouldn't even be surprising if this was happening almost every chapter or two that we get a repeat description of how beautiful they look.

Overall, the story progression is rather slow in my opinion. It is mostly about her showing off her talents. She is still in high school and is about to take the college entrance exam.

Her biological family is almost nonexistent compared to her classmates.

Romance is a slow burn. Despite, the main lead constantly flirting and removing the buttons from his shirt...

In the end, it was nothing special but still entertaining enough to read. In my opinion, it does have some questionable elements.

It could be just my imagination but it felt like the author looks down on anything not considered traditional Chinese culture. Some parts of the story felt uncomfortable for this particular reason.

I can only say what the hell is "wild eyes"? I saw people with wild eyes and they were all serial killers.

How the hell does she walk if the only thing you can see is her chin when she wears a cap???

I can excuse her OPness but her walking with her cap so low only her chin, not any chin but a COLD CHIN!!! Can be seen!? Those are my issues with the story aside from the repetitive baddies. And no character development from the MC, the constant face slapping.... more>> And 700+ chapters in, she is still 3 months away from college examination. So about 3 months have passed since chapter 1.

I forgot the fact that the author makes it look like Modern medicine is worse than traditional medicine. There is never a middle ground. Like Chinese medicine is the sh*t and its older than western medicine. When in honesty all medicine is the work of hundreds of years of trial and error. There is no character that agrees that both traditional and modern medicine is good in their own ways. And like all Chinese novels it had hints of racism when other nationalities are involved. Its like these authors cant wait to look down on or insult foreigners because China is the best -_-. I can kinda see why though, propaganda, and it being a Chinese novel. <<less

There exist many stories, but this is easy to read and I simply like slapping scenes.

I'd say 3 as a story overall for me so far, but I do love these types of repetitive, face slapping stories so I'd give it a 4. It does have similar vibes to Madam Your Sock Puppet is Lost Again. I like how its shown that our MC, Qiao Nian isn't used to having people in her life, so she has to adjust to people wanting to help her, being concerned for her wellbeing, supporting her/believing in her unconditionally. Like her independence and reluctance to get close/rely on others... more>> is still there, but walls are coming down. The romance is super slow burn, which I don't mind. ML is another OP super genius in his early twenties, and he just confessed like a chapter ago, our MC is 18 in her last year of HS, fyi. I can look past cause super intelligent fictional ppl, but it would be weird irl.

treating this review as a diary:

  • I like how its shown that our MC, Qiao Nian isn't used to having people in her life, so she has to adjust to people wanting to help her, being concerned for her wellbeing, supporting her/believing in her unconditionally.   • HOLY sh*t is Imperial Mansion the ONLY f*cking restaurant in all of Beijing?!????!!1 same with the only high-class place in Rao City
  • Qiao Chen, the real daughter, not-sister to the MC, is a GLUTTON for punishment, she's one of the tea b*tches. Idk which is which.
  • everyone who underestimates her has like permanent brain damage and amnesia, CAUSE IF SHE IS WALKING AROUND WITH SO AND SO THATS CRAZY POWERFUL AND JUST ESCAPED A DIRE SITUATION NO PROBLEM, MAYBBEEEE just maybe SHE'S MORE CAPABLE THAN YOU KNOW

It's another promoting everything Chinese is better than all Western things novel. It kind of ticks me off and I now regret asking at some point why these types of novels use things like Country Y and Country M. It makes it a lot more offensive to people reading since it always says that China is the bestest of the best. Then again this is a Chinese novel and promoting themselves should be expected unlike in America where they promote all countries to the top and lower themselves down. But... more>> it's not too bad just especially in the music and medicine is when they mostly do that stuff. It's pretty good overall if you like slow but you know it's been there from the start romance. It's a big face slapping every 5 chapters novel. I'm kind of not into female leads that have talent in every single thing but that's my own view. Personally I also like it when the Romance starts budding somewhere withing 350 chapters and they get together somewhere in the 150-350th chapter. Judging by other reviews that's obviously not going to happen though so I'll keep it at a 3 <<less

They let the MC perform surgery on a brain patient and a kid without a medical license while she's underage. It doesn't matter if she's the miracle doctor or what- atleast in other novels, they explain how this person learned medicine/ they already finished college at an early age and has a proper license..
