Young Master Lu: “My delicate wife is weak and can’t take care of herself, why are you bullying her?”

Everyone: ????

Young Master Lu: It is good to read. Turning pages so fast can only remember a few words.

Gu Mang picked up a book and read ten lines.

Young Master Lu has a headache: “What should I do if I meet a baby who does not like to learn? What else can I do other than spoiling her?

……….

Until one day.

“Master, there are many famous universities in Beijing that are fighting over Madam. The top universities abroad are also fighting over Madam!”

“Master, several Traditional Chinese Medical Research Institutes are fighting over Madam.”

“Master, some of the most famous law firms in the world want to snatch the Madam.”

“Master, several hacker organizations are here….”

“Master, some of the biggest financial consortia is also here..”

Incomplete review/ Dropped at 240ish chapter: It's difficult to feel invested in this story when the main characters are so one-dimensional, with the exception of one standout side character.

The female lead (FL) feels like an exaggerated version of a Mary Sue. She's not just skilled—she's the best at literally everything: hacking, medicine, mathematics, chemistry, fighting, choreography, fashion design, singing, dancing... the list goes on and keeps growing as the story progresses. She's portrayed as a master in every field to the point where she's even the teacher of other world-renowned experts. While I typically enjoy a confident and capable protagonist, this level of perfection made her hard to relate to or sympathize with. Her lack of flaws or vulnerability made her feel more like a caricature than a real person.

It didn't help that the narrative kept introducing new skills for her every few chapters, as if the author wanted to top her accomplishments over and over again. Instead of admiring her, I found myself disconnected and craving even a hint of self-doubt or emotional struggle—something to make her feel human. At times, her portrayal felt like a young child's fantasy of an impossibly perfect future self. And the repeated "hat pulling" gesture to emphasize her nonchalance? It quickly became more cringey than cool.

The male lead (ML) didn't fare much better. He's bland and forgettable, with little to no personality to make him stand out.

The one redeeming aspect of the story, however, was the side character Meng Jinyang (MJ), the FL's best friend. MJ had a difficult past, but her resilience and determination to overcome her struggles made her a far more compelling and relatable character. Unlike the FL, MJ's efforts and growth were shown through her actions rather than just told to the reader. Her perseverance in her studies and her journey to find happiness were genuinely inspiring, and I found myself wanting to see more of her story. She felt human—flawed, relatable, and real. If anything, I wish she had been the protagonist.

I'll continue reading to see where the story goes, but so far, the FL's perfection and the ML's blandness make it hard to stay engaged////

Update: I cannot read this anymore!!! The author said FL is now the best lawyer in the world! I can't—

If you hate FLs who lean towards being a white lotus or green tea b*tch, rest assured that this is not one of them. From chapter one, she's a rude and wild delinquent kid who marches to the beat of her own drum, who looks better in all black than in a school uniform and more at home on a motorcycle than in a classroom. So in that regard, the title is misleading because the FL doesn't really care what people say about her online and she certainly isn't going... more>> to fight in the comments; any face slapping is done by reports or other people standing up for her.

In terms of plot, the story jumps straight in with hidden identities: the ML is trying to find a mysterious doctor, and the FL is trying to avoid getting found by him. There's a lot of underworld type drama right off the bat, and will build with more action as the plot progresses.

But my favorite part, the thing that made me feel this story did something different, was the biggest "reveal" moment between the ML and FL.

Discovering that your lover is actually the enemy whom you swore revenge against is not a simple thing. It wouldn't have felt right at that point in their relationship to just break up and disappear, but also I would have been really mad if Gu Mang forgave him because "he didn't know" or something. No! Torment the man! Make Lu Chengzhou panic, give him a heart attack, do something that he will later dream about and wake up in a cold sweat!!! It's because Gu Mang trusted and loved him that learning he was the one behind her pain hurt her so much, and it's because Lu Chengzhou loved and cared for her that he inflicted the same pain on himself in order to make it up to her. They let their actions speak louder than their words, and that's why it felt right for them to overcome this problem and stay together.

Also, love Gu Si for spearheading the whole "make my brother-in-law suffer" plan. I don't doubt that he would have taken Lu Chengzhou's head if he was able to, but it's still funnier that he just decided to raise as much hell as he could and nobody suspected him because he's like, ten years old.

I thought the ending was a good one, and I especially liked the side couples who went on to live their own lives. Would definitely reread this story! <<less
