So I've read pretty far in (book 6, according to the translator?) and ultimately my feelings about this story are... mixed. There are a lot of tropes that spring to my mind when I read that a story is about a protagonist who gets a "second chance" to live their life - mostly I imagine that the person was wronged in some way during their first life and then they live their second life righting that wrong somehow. And this story does that... sort of.

The problem is that Lucia (the... more>> main character) is "unambitious" would probably be a nice word for it. "s*upid and lazy" might be a meaner word. See, she wakes up to her second life at twelve, and until she's seventeen she doesn't make any meaningful divergences from the first time around. When she finally works up her courage (at the prompting of a friend) and enters a marriage contract with the MC she's terminally unambitious and doesn't ask for anything but to be fed and clothed.

From there it's a typical "contract romance" story where the cold ML slowly fall for the FL. On the upside, while the ML is cold he isn't ever r*pey or violent and the moments of the two of them falling in love are sweet. On the downside, the ML seems to only be interested in her because of her body? It's kind of uncomfortable how he instantly 180s from cold and unapproachable to cold and unapproachable but secretly in love after the first time they bang. There isn't really any explanation or reason for it he just REALLY likes having s*x with her and apparently no other woman he's had before can compare and... let's just say it's an unusual catalyst for a whirlwind romance.

Having mentioned the s*x... there's a lot of it. After chapter 15 or so there is a s*x scene at least once every two or three chapters. A significant chunk of the wordcount is devoted to loving descriptions of "forests" "nectar" "sweet mounds" "valleys" "meatrods"... etc etc you get the picture. Speaking as someone who mostly skimmed this stuff, it's actually kind of annoying because it makes the story about a third (or maybe even more) shorter when you omit all the banging.

My biggest problem with the story though, is that even though it's a "second chance at life" story Lucia doesn't ever seem particularly hellbent on getting revenge on those who wronged her in the past. She doesn't seem particularly interested in using her knowledge of the future for her own or anyone else's gain. She doesn't seem particularly interested in using her foreknowledge as leverage to get herself out of the desperate situation she's in at the start of the story. She just acknowledges that if she does NOTHING she'll be miserable, so she grudgingly goes out and clings to the ML's thigh - and then after he takes her in she just sort of resigns all her agency and rides the current wherever it takes her and lets the ML solve everything and anything that crops up. Considering Lucia is living a second life she has a takes a disappointingly small amount of initiative to do ANYTHING.

tldr: the romance is cute, there are too many s*x scenes, and Lucia is an annoyingly passive protagonist. Still seeing Lucia slowly grow and care about more people and get more people to care about her almost makes it all worthwhile <<less

This is a great novel if you like mature, smut, devoted love content. You could see the developing character in each of the people. Especially for ML. You will love him so much. Yes, it's like typical OP ML, but he has a flaw as well, he's awkward, he's trying his best to express himself to other, technically only to his wife, Lucia. They both are a cute couple. Love the smut scene it was so addicting and just typical josei genre. This is my favorite novel all of the... more>> time!

I recommend you to read this!! <<less

Novel is somewhat of a mixed bag from me. The development is somewhat questionable, as the protagonist is supposedly a special kind of person that somehow manages to attract a man that's known for being playboy. Because he got addicted to her body when they have s*x, or something like that.

I dunno, this all feels a bit too convenient. I don't like the MC at all, she's supposed to be more special than the rest, but most of the time she's just incredibly submissive and that doesn't fit well with... more>> me. Read it to see if you like it, I guess. But for me, it's not really hitting me. <<less

Clearly this story shows the development of many new aspects of its characters. Each has determined that this is a marriage of convenience. But I feel this arrangement may bring them much more than they expect. I look forward to reading the rest of this novel.

Dropped at chapter 63.

This is soooo bad. Like omg someone get me the author, I need to get that person some therapy.

No major spoilers forward just random things that could spoil small details but not the plot.

First of all, the ML is tr*sh. Plain tr*sh. He is super toxic and this man gets jealous of anything else that takes the FL's attention INCLUDING HIS OWN 8 YEAR OLD CHILD. Yes he's that bad.

He slaughters people with zero moral compass and gets disappointed when his child doesn't follow his footsteps. There's a lot of toxic masculinity encouraged in the context of the novel.

And oc thr reason I hate the ML the most is because he is simply put, only after MC's v*gina. She could be dying for all he knows and be super tired but NO THIS MAN WANTS TO F*CK HER. LIKE THE NUMBER OF TIMES THIS GIRL WAS SO WEAK AND SAID NO AND THIS MAN DID NOT LISTEN. Anytime there's any problem, he never communicates, his entire braincell is just his d*ck. And when he does something for the FL and she says she doesn't wanna f*ck he goes like 'I did that for her, she could reciprocate' kinda way. Oh god, this man is just tr*sh.

I'm giving it one star, I cl**ked 3 by mistake and am too lazy to correct it. <<less

Don't get me wrong, I set 3 stars because of the translators and the authors who have invested their effort and time to translate and write this novel, not because of the plot. If there's a separate rating for the plot, I'd give one.

I know Lucia isn't an OP FL like Charlize, Artezia, or other FLs and there's nothing wrong with that, but it didn't sit right with me how people admired her just because she was 'admirable' (bruh) but what I saw she was just sitting around and doing... more>> nothing. I may be biased because I like to read nice MLs in novels, tho I read a lot of novels with tr*sh MLs too and I don't like the ML here.

I snorted when the ML thought smth like she's-not-like-other-women-I've-slept-with trope lmao and how her body was like that typical white lotus, innocent, forgiving, lovable girl. Gosh- oh my gosh. And what's even worse is when the FL started off with "I'll never fall in love with that guy" and in just a few chapters ended up blushing and drooling over him. What a big LOL.

I read a few chapters and skipped over to some chapters ahead, trying to give this story a chance, but what can I say, this isn't my cup of tea. Rather than wasting my time and rating this story with one star, I'd better off dropping this from the beginning.

I may be biased here and there because I like Roxana and Medea, how they survive like a lunatic to save their own a*s (sorry for bringing up other characters), anyways, for those who curious just give it a try and judge the story yourself >, < <<less

I see a lot of recommendations with Lucia on them so I put it on my Interested to Read list but I have always hesitated in reading it so it has sat there for quite sometime. I'm glad I finally read it. It's a great story.
Spoiler

I can't believe I'm saying this, but my primary complaint here is that there's too much smut. Like 2 to 3 chapters will be full of smut. Sometimes I just skim thru it. It's a good smut, it reminds me of the times I used to read English historical novels, it's so descriptive. But there's just too much smut.)

[collapse]

The main plot here is that there are 2 people in a contractual marriage who have a lot of s*x with each other and is obvious to everyone that they love each other, but they couldn't say how they feel in fear that the other person would leave them or would change. But unlike plots like these, although they were not saying how they feel, it does not make for so much angst and is not annoying because they are still very fond of each other. It's very fluffy. In fact they can't seem to keep the maids around because they get sick of too much dogfood so they decided to get married. The other plot is the matter of having a baby which is one of the central plot. I'm glad there isn't much politics. A lot of the side characters are lovable but were left with their side-stories hanging, I guess because of too much chapters dedicated to smut.

I love the characters, especially Hugh, Damian and Roy. Plus, there is a huge character development here. Hugo became less bloodthirsty and Damian became a happy kid. Lucia was able to change her fate and the fate of some of the people around her when she decided to propose to Hugo (Hugh). Sometimes, it's not necessary for the character to be very smart or vindictive or vengeful. Although bad things happened to her in her dream, she did not feel the need for revenge, but she's thankful for her choice. She lived her life fully and love her family, even adopted the stepson who helped her in the dream.

I'm so thankful for so many side-stories. But author-nim, why mention Damian's Ted but not follow it up? I wish that was included in the side-stories. Anyway, I wish there's more chapters. I would really like a story, maybe a separate one for Damian and Bruno (with Evangeline, maybe).

This has a fantastic historical fantasy setting. The glimpses into the dream she had of her future life and the fact that future life wasnt all bad and continued until old age was really cool. The world building is fantastic but also spotty. The characterizations and pacing arent always great. Most of the side characters are underutilized. I dont like the ML. His back story is dark and interesting but his characterization is pretty one note. Also the s*x scenes while prolific are kind of formulaic.

Strangely none of that detracts from my enjoyment of Lucia’s story. Im also a sucker for the fated in all lives aspect of their romance. The extras just kill you.

I highly recommend this for anyone who enjoys historical fantasy settings and a woman with little power or hope who finds a better life for herself and every life she touches. <<less

Honestly if you're new and wonders to read it or not I strongly suggest that you give it a go.. Don't listen to those who say that it's a bad novel And don't judge it based on the manga art because seriously the art style in the manga is horrible at least to me. I will dare say that this novel IS THE BEST KOREAN NOVEL I'VE READ SO FAR.. The MC is a gentle yet strong and independent.. She is a bit dumb in my opinion though cause she... more>> remained to not see the ML'S crazy love for her despite him trying to express it but I guess that's just denial and the ML.. Honestly it's been a while since I finished reading it so my critique may seem vague.

Liked:

  • The characters were decent
  • The romance was not bad
Disliked:

    • The smut is terrible. Fanfiction smut is better than this. The s*x is practically copy pasted and always in the same position?? Not to mention, being fast and large is not the same as being good at s*x, being tight does not mean being aroused. Seriously it's not hot at all and always sounds uncomfortable... author needs a biology lesson.
Spoiler
    • It feels so gross that they had a child just because one of the villains wanted them to. Obviously they had consensual s*x but it reminds me of non-consensual cond*m removal, just super r*pey vibes. The villain also got away with mu*dering dozens of people, like wtaf.
    • Honestly the whole subplot with the herbs and in*est was just so weird to read. And in the end they continued the 'cursed' bloodline anyway.
(If you haven't read and don't know what this means I can only summarize it as; the ML is from a bloodline wherein descendants can only have children if the couple are biologically related, or if the female uses a certain herb from a young age.)
[collapse]

Overall it was a decent read I just wish the plot was less weird

I'm really confused by all the good reviews. Unlike some other negative reviews, I'm not even mad at how they fell in love. I think that part of the story was fine because the author built up his intrigue of her oddity.

What I could not stand is the writing. Contrast the prologue of this story to for example the prologue of Lady to Queen. Both are about the main character living a horrible life and getting the chance to go back in time and do things differently. The difference is,... more>> this prologue does not make me excited or fill me with suspense to want to know what's happening.

The pacing of the story is also weird. It seems like events just happen for the sake of happening because *plot* and *main character* and don't make sense at all. We are sometimes not given context for plot points until just before or after they happen, and the author *explains* it to us. No showing at all, just telling.

Another thing, I enjoy me some good smut. The smut scenes in this book just happen too often and are so similar. I've only read maybe 3 scenes and I'm already bored. Also I felt like the first time they had s*x was a little r*pe-y. The author keeps trying to tell me that "the ML would never force the FL to have s*x if she didn't want to", yet in the first scene she constantly tells him to slow down or stop and he doesn't. To the author's credit, he does contemplate and regret his aggression, and I guess I shouldn't expect more since it is set in medieval times, but people who say it's not at least in the gray area of r*pe-iness worry me. Just because she consented before they started doesn't mean that she has to keep going.

If we're looking at this not for the plot but for the characters and the romance, it still leaves much to be desired. Although it makes sense to me how they fell in love, the author just did not make me care enough about the characters to want to find out how they got a happy ending.

All in all, I'm glad I decided to drop the story and just read the spoilers instead. I'm so glad I did because I saved myself a lot of time for a dramatic nonsensical story. <<less

Things I loved about this novel:

    • Good pacing of the romance. I liked how the love blossoms between the MC (Lucia) and the ML (Duke of Taran), who both intended to only use each other in the beginning.
    • No dragged-out confession. When it's brought up, they settle it like the two adults that they are.
    • No petty misunderstandings and blown-out-of-proportion insecurities. They work things out as a couple. Their trust in each other is so solid that no secret or nobody can come in between them.
    • The ML is so whipped. I enjoyed his POVs so much. I loved how his concerns and priorities are messed up because of how yandere he is.
    • The side characters are amusing. They're great at being wingmen, but they also add a lot of spice to the story.
Things that could be improved:

    • The "fantasy" aspect of this fantasy-romance novel. The existence of magic tools was never mentioned until one of the characters had to use one. It felt too convenient.
    • Same with pendant. The backstory felt forced. People can have precognitive dreams without a magic tool. Why did the author have to insert fantasy just because?
    • Too many s*x scenes. Smut is fine, but when it gets repetitive and covers almost half of the story, you end up skipping chapters.
Overall, it was a real page-turner and a beautiful read.

If yandere ML and contract marriage are your cups of tea, then I definitely recommend this novel.

I don't mind an airhead girl for an MC, but she was abused and attended "many social events" in her previous life. Also the interaction and world-building is bland. The way her past life was narrated was so boring I was unable to sympathize with her. Anyways, not my cup of tea but might get interested later.

I'm at the part where Lucia has moved into the Duke's Manor.

I'm a bit confused on a few parts -

*SPOILERS BELOW*

While writing the terms of the contract, she says she won't fall in love. Yet, the very next day, she pretty much already has just from a kiss. Then, as they arrive at the Duke's Manor, she starts getting annoyed/angry that he isn't there for dinner or at the bed chambers when she's going to bed. (He was fine with avoiding her for 2 years and yet she stills asks... more>> why he's not there for her?) (He does eventually go to her, but this is just dumb.)

Her first experience with the Duke is wanting to avoid s*x due to remembering her future and having trauma from that. Yet, she had many MANY chances to avoid this confrontation. It's like she was begging for the Duke's attention and love already. The Duke starts getting curious with her because she has a magical v*gina and he's never felt a better v*gina while having s*x. Wtf?

Before traveling to the Duke's manor. She was given a chance to stay in the capital for 2 years or go to a barren land that might come with risks and her death and she chooses to go with the Duke. For what reason though?

She could have chosen anybody with a lower status and thinks is nice, yet she chose the one with the worst rumors with thoughts like "I don't believe in rumors" (Yes, he turned out to be nice, kind of. But this was a gamble that she didn't need to do.)

I like strong female leads and this isn't one of them. Like the other review said, she fell like tissue paper. Seems like she gets stronger afterwards, but I've already lost interest. <<less

This novel has me feeling a bit conflicted. It's decently written, well translated, but I just don't like the main characters. It's probably a personal preference.

The female lead is a weak docile little woman who thinks she's strong. I feel like she's regressing and stops being her own person once she gets together with male lead. Her environment is controlled and she doesn't get to interact with the opposite s*x. That's probably great to read, if you're a man, meanwhile all I can hope for is that women won't use... more>> her as a role model. Learn to say no.
The male lead is your typical dominant 'no bs' character that everyone respects. Or more like fears. He's ruthless and vicious, even his followers don't dare to say what's on their minds. If Lucia has a suggestion or if she opposes him, he won't listen if he doesn't like it. He demands he has her full attention when he's home, but then he can leave for months without telling her in advance.
And he has no problem with sexing her all night and leaving her bruised unable to move for days. Keeps doing it. It's just an endless cycle. The smut scenes are kinda nice other than that. It's just, it would be nice if he stopped when she begged him to.

The side characters are the highlight I would say. They're the reason I lasted so long, but it's really too painful to read when you don't like the leads. The backstory is interesting, too. For the most part. So if you don't mind the things I mind then I'm sure people could find this a good read. <<less

My honest opinions are: this novel definitely deserved a 4.5+.

I don't know about you but, trust me, in novel sites like this, it isn't particularly Earth-shattering and heaven-defying to find something like a commoner suddenly turning out to be noble (it was revealed in one go, yeah, but it's not like it's the focus of this story). If you stick a little around in NU, you'd find things even more shocking. lol

Even with the low rate and opposed reviews here and there, I hope you would not completely shut yourself... more>> off of this novel's good points as well. I highly recommend this!!

Reason are as follows:

PS. Please bear with me as it will be long.

Spoiler

To start off... indeed, there were slightly ambiguous phrasing at the start of the novel, leaving some details loosely hanging about. Not sure if it was just originally like that, or some problems with translation [PS. The translation is really good, mind you. But as someone who also knows a few languages, misinterpretations cannot be avoided... more like, there simply isn't a good enough term for it in another language].

Going back to that "ambiguous phrasing"... it isn't really much. At some point, I made a justification of it myself. For example: about that part of MC doing laborious tasks at the start because she had no attendants but everything about her body still coming out soft and 'perfect.' For this, my answer came off as perhaps because of that 'poison' plant she ate that was cleansing her in hindsight. Or another: indeed, that casually mentioned part of her autism (in my brain that time: if it's not needed and would just be brushed off anyway, why bother mention it? It puzzled me a while as to its significance but, after some time... I guess it was really just nothing. But of course, I haven't completed the book yet, so I'm not sure). Others include some confusion in the MC's "past life, " the hanging end with Norman, etc. etc.

^But of course, I think things like that are only if you want to nitpick the story. Because, so far, as I read on, my confusion on these things were indirectly answered. Of course, it might just be my imagination supplying the details, and getting this piece as a possible explanation of another etc, but what author would offer everything to the reader in a silver platter? I think dropping it here and there was acceptable compared to directly referencing it.

So... rather than focusing on these tiny details, I'd like to integrate them to look at the full picture.

First things first, I think that the development wasn't too nonsensical or fast paced. Some people would say that it was just there to "move the plot" (eg. MC "dreaming"... that is one heck of a detailed dream after all, MC being "sneaky" and eventually meeting ML, MC being "brought to the palace" etc) but for me, it really wasn't the case. It didn't appear too forceful and, more often, actually acceptable (or maybe it's just 'cause my level of what's acceptable or not had already been dulled after reading lots of isekai/transmigrated stories LOL HAHA).

True, arrange marriages in this day and age seemed non-existent and royal bloods are rare. But if we overly constrict ourselves to nonfictional things, there would be no such thing as fiction. And stories like a super overly genius assassin with an accessible space in her head wouldn't exist. The setting and some rules on the matters of succession, the attitude of the King, the laws about illegitimacies were also explained in the story so it's not like you have to constrict yourself to modern setting as basis for this one.

But to criticise the book just because the MC was "lazy" and just had "sneak attacks" or "waiting for some miracle", as you come to read this novel, my opinion of this MC was far from it. If she was lazy and really lacked determination to change her course, she wouldn't have even thought of sneaking out and befriending the novelist, finding a friend and giving her a chance to earn money by herself.

Not sure if it's just me... but I hope one would also consider the premise of this story. Consider MC's background (of course, she has a "noble" background from her mother's side but not one knew that), the King who can't seem to think well, her place as the 16th princess, high society, etc, and one could somehow understand her actions and nature at the start. I do not blame her for being unable to do anything to prevent some things. Other readers are probably not used to it because we are often given MCs who can somehow get their way around here in NU but, for me, this MC's behaviour was believable given the circumstance.

If there's just one fast-paced part of this novel, I dare say it's just the romance.
But who am I to complain? It is smut for a reason. (͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

At least we were also given the chance to see their feelings grow later on and not just smack dabbing like the others.

Yes, some might say this novel started with physical and sht, but the character development that came after that was something that I laud for in this story. The dynamics of the characters, especially the protagonists, was something I adored. It gets a bonus too since we get some insights from both male and female protags. If I could, I'd also like to just back this two and yell at them for being idiots. Then again, where's the fun in that? Settling your feelings by yourself and time was part of development too. And they were heading in the good direction, so it was unnecessary.

Yes, the male was notoriously known for his playboy ways. He is "impure, " "really evil." But if you judge a man's love just by his carnal past, I am in no position to admonish you (because I was once in that phase) but please think again. Him treating his wife was good. Him respecting his wife was good and being loyal to her like a do- lion was also good. I will not judge people on their tastes of partner, but this couple was good because I feel like they really care and love each other despite the heavy/mature drama going on (eg. the contract and all, etc).

I am not one who will deal with trifling matters. It's too stressful dealing with such things. ML's past love adventures were his past, nothing to be done about it. But now he had MC, it was good how much effort and thought he's really putting in with her. Considering her feelings, and breaking loose ends, for someone who grew in an unfavourable environment, he is learning.

Other than ML, the other characters were really lovable, the MC and the butler more so. HAHAHA I love her way of simply unconditionally loving people. You can say it selfless... or selfish. Take your pick. But for me, I love her kind heart. She isn't someone I can hate. Some love her like I do. Some might think of her too docile. Some just enough... I will not hold you off of that.

PS. Why do people assume anyway, that just because you've been wronged before, it is absolute that you must revenge? Well, true, I still read novels like that but sometimes, I also feel like that kind of thing is pointless. It's tiring and too bothersome. And for this story, I think it fits that the MC isn't vengeful. Besides, it's not like these evil people will not get their just desserts anyway.

So to MC, I can only say one thing (which I've said before) : I think her character fits perfectly given the setting and plot. The way she's written was so consistent (in fact, I daresay almost all characters are) so they were easy to understand, and I like that. It fits the development well. I am eagerly awaiting for more.

If there's just one thing that I still had a hard time accepting: perhaps it's the ML's brutal ways. Surprisingly, rather than the usual MC being vengeful and sht (yknow, after being treated harshly and so), it's actually the ML this time. lol I already had considerable experiences reading stories like that but still! I did not mind the ML's past... escapades, since he is already rectifying that as we speak. But I hope there is some improvement on the bloodlust as well. He isn't a bad guy, just that he's overdoing it. I don't think there is absolutely no room for negotiations that his more often complete "wipe out" would be considered justified. If you don't understand what I'm talking about... read the novel ;) ;) But, of course, you have been warned. lol

PS. I am still hwaiting for that capital comeback and Norman. lol But with the arrival of Damien... I wouldn't mind a few more Northern "countryside" arcs. HAHAHA

TL;DR I really love the development. I love the story, and I is pretty much good as it is. Their past might be "brushed off" and given in one go at the start, but the development in the middle was really good... of how the two MCs are trying to learn and be good to each other (more like MC taming ML hahaha). There wasn't any pointless drama... just enough to give us some depth of the characters and their principles.

I think one good factor that lead me to say this is good is because there are already plenty of updates to read about. I was able to grasp the development than just the pillow talks every now and then. For those who are just starting, I can say that there's a higher chance for you to love this than those who caught only a glimpse at the start. Please give it a try.

Overall, it's a good read. I did not regret catching up to the latest update even with an exam in a few days. HAHAHA Someone slap me please LOL <<less

Interesting novel so far, I feel like it has a lot of potential. Please note I'm a dude who is reading this while that may not seem to matter, it is josie after all. The story does have a fair but of s*x which I wasn't really into however the character development along with the plot kept it interesting.

The story goes, A girl named Lucia who is raised a commoner has a great dream depicting her future. It will be a hard life with little joy and much betrayal and... more>> sadness. She lives an entire life in her dream predicting everything that would happen and living it. Her life follows the dream, using what she has learned she makes changes in preparation of diverging her life for the better. In her dream she becomes recognized as a princess and lives a lonely secluded life until she is sold at 19 years old, upon a new king rising to power. In light of that event, a damning event which would set her on a crash course for her most hated future she diverges. At 18 she has prepared and approaches a man of high prestige and nobility, offering herself in marriage. This man, a duke is tempted by her odd personality which seems mature, cute but with a very obvious desperation which he cannot figure out. <<less

I love this story, would give it 10 stars if I could. The main character is so cute I love her and the male lead is a badass. This is one of my all time favorite stories, the translation is also great and the story is written really well!

Story looks very interesting so far just 5 chaps in. You basically have a male lead who is a 'playa' and by the looks of it will fall for the cute, common-plain looking princess. I'm looking forward to reading more chapters. I'm a big sucker for the kind of plot where male lead has been hooking up with lots of b*tches but slowly shifts his attention towards the girl that at first he had no interest and eventually she is on his mind all the time. I'm guessing that's what... more>> is gonna happen.

Their interactions are quite interesting thus far and there have been introduced lots of other characters too. Will update my review if HTL is done, hopefully I will still like the story when that happens. <<less

The book is ok if you want to relax. I liked MC - she is not spoiled, dumb or annoying as most of MCs feature in this gender of literature. But lots of characters almost worship her just because of this and it feels weird. You can hear all the time how great she is but what did she do to deserve it? She has s*x, sleeps, eats, go to tea party, has s*x again and sleeps... oh, and I forgot - she did not complain during the journey. The... more>> journey took few days instead of few months thanks to the gate - like who the hell would have complained? If that's what you guys find great, than your standards are pretty low.

The plot is almost non-existing. It feels like things are happening just to make the story longer but seriously, the story is sooo poor-built. Well, it is not a high quality novel after all. Lots of ppl read it for smut anyway. But the smut is not even good. It is repetitive, it happens too often and it is very badly described.

I liked the duke though. He was really crazy. It was the only thing that made the book interesting. Ohh and Damian was such a cutie! :) I would say that the book is worth reading just for these two.

Spoiler

The only thing that made me feel really irritated was how everyone praised Roy. Like did anyone realized that he killed completely innocent ppl just to stop the rumour?

Also MC falls for ML too quickly. Just think about it - mentally she was way over 40 when she met him, she was abused by her husband and betrayed and robbed by her lover. It would just take time to fall for anyone and yet she almost faints just after one kiss... nah...
