6th book in Yuan Yuan’s series 老梗也是梗系列之(AKA We were supposed to have died in a plane crash, instead we transmigrated). The stories consist of three modern settings and three historical.

Luo An Hai didn’t expect that one day she would witness her own funeral.

The last thing she remembered was being on a plane to England for business negotiations. If she had succeeded then the majority of shareholders would vote her way, and she would become the CEO of Luo’s company.

But she didn’t expect the plane to crash.

Her last thought was that ten years of hard work fell down the drain. She had endured ten years living at the Luo Mansion, and fought to keep the homewrecker and the homewrecker’s son, Han Ding Rui taking Luo’s company from her hands.

She couldn’t accept the moment her dream was within grasp, her life would end in a plane crash.

A second after the plane crash, she was standing in front of her tombstone.

Her father had aged since the last time she saw him.

She froze. Unexpectedly her father was sobbing at her funeral. She hadn’t called the aged man her father since their estrangement the day he brought home the homewrecker and Han Ding Rui.

She resented her father for marrying her mother for money. Her mother loved her father deeply. But what did her mother receive? Her mother ended up dying of a lonely heart.

She dedicated her life to opposing her father, the homewrecker, and the homewrecker’s son. She hated them and treated them badly… so why are they grieving? Why does Han Ding Rui stare at her photo?

Suddenly she is given a second chance, but will things be different?

I-I-I just wanted to read a little romance since I was bored...

I... I know that its my fault...

I knew... from the reviews...

... more>> But... after reading this, I was still immediately ANGERED!

I thought, "What is this fellow writing?! Isn't he ashamed writing a novel that is so... SO!!! GIRLIE!!!??!!"

Then I came back to NU. I was supposed to ba...*kuhum*... ba...*looks left and right*... bash... this novel and... rayyy.... rate this with 1 star. (Sorry guys... I mean, girls. I'm usually a person who doesn't do this sort of thing *at least not in novels*, but...) But, while... hesitating to... to... tag this novel with... withhhhh... NTR!!!!!!! (I'm really, really sorry girls for having a thought like that!!! Pls forgive me ?) I saw the authors name. I sighed. "With a name like that..." I gave up my thought and just wrote this review.

I'm actually really possessive when it comes to heroines (and Female protagonists), so I couldn't help but... almost made a mistake.

Though I am honest when it comes to good novels. (That's why I rated it as...)

*******************************

Jokes aside...

It was a good novel... I think... But, if the Protagonist was actually a male, it will probably be one of the best reads for me...

I didn't really had much of thoughts about the novel, except... how long is the chapter and when would it finish... *I didn't want to leave regrets behind...*

I was also expecting the epilogue to have a baby. But I didn't expect the author to suddenly put that... hmmm... ending? Though I already had a thought that it will have a twist that the two actually had the same thing happened to them and admitting it to themselves.*this didn't happen* (before reading this I was actually reading Very Pure and Ambiguous: prequel)

Anyway, it was a good novel with a good... 'action'... and a great male lead (I don't like the protagonist's stuborness, but I think its cute).

Hey, if you misunderstood me, it isn't ntr. I wanted to put it because the protagonist annoys me.

And yes, if you're thinking that I am laughing at boys reading this novel, then yes, I am laughing at them (including myself)

*reads the whole review* doesn't seem wrong.

end. <<less

Ending was unsatisfying, nothing was answered between characters. Did the author get tired of writing and just rushed it? Aside from that, pretty good, aside from the r*pe scene.

One of the best short story I've read... Love how the ML proves himself to the MC... Wish I could always find this kind of story... This is my kind of genre. Read this every now & then.

The ML is a dream guy to most of ladies (except, on my part, his younger age, but in the story its perfect!).

The MC's character is understandable to me, I would be like that if adults around me do things that really confusing (at least, to the mind of a daughter like her,... more>> who is constantly with her mom while she's growing).

All in all, the story is the right blend of genre I've been looking for (plus the nice touch of their hot scenes). <<less

Gosh darnit I want more. I felt like if Han Ting Hua told his secret, then the story could have been prolonged and taken an interesting turn for the better.

Overall a novel with well developed characters, especially the FL, that learns to make use of her second chance at life to be happy. Nothing felt rushed, nice hot love between FL and ML, and the HE was perfect.

I really enjoyed this story. The female lead was able to see things from a new perspective after her first death and was given a new chance at life. She could be seen as an antagonist in her first life, but we see more details from her perspective and we begin to sympathize her. The main lead was one of the most stubborn yet loving guy I have ever seen in many stories. Their relationship was like fire and water, and I really enjoyed watching their love grow over time.

I enjoyed this story immensely. Let me explain why I disagree with a bunch of the commentators (perhaps, this is also a warning not to read the story, if these types of realistic situations bother your tender soul).

The father is clearly emotionally constipated and so is, honestly, the MC - but I forgive her, she has gone through a fresh hell of a childhood. However, I think that the biological mother of the MC is also, honestly, mentally very unstable and disturbed and has heavily contributed to her daughter's trauma... more>> and inability to relate to anyone at all. Here is a spoiler for you.

The father had a fiancé before he was forced to but also agreed to marry a stranger to save their parents' business. Then, seems there was a time where this new relationship kind of worked... The new wife started becoming exceedingly jealous when there was no basis for it. The beginnings of a toxic trend, which only grew stronger. Eventually, the dad encountered his former flame and, since they only broke up because or "artificial reasons" he eventually fell for her again. Then, he actually asked his wife for a divorce. And, this is where it gets nasty, she would not grant the divorce - basically tying him to her and, in the meantime, herself simply becoming more and more mentally unstable, also dragging the young daughter down in this pit. Here, I grant it, the father should have stepped in to protect his child. Mind you, the mother is not some innocent angel here, people fall out of love, this happens in life and if you think it doesn't, I have bad news for you. You cannot keep someone, who no longer loves you, at your side. That is emotional violence. Teaching your children to isolate from any persons is also horrible, in the end, the mother also is guilty of not shielding her young daughter. Finally, I have to say that the father should also, obviously, have explained everything to his daughter and treat her as an equal - not throw his life down the drain, obviously, he also has the right to live happily and express his love - just like any one of us - but he should have engaged with his daughter much more meaningfully when introducing her to a new family.

Where the dad's original lover is concerned, she has shown exceptional grace when faced with the vicious attacks of the MC. She is also a person and her life has not been easy, why should she not choose love and happiness? As far as we know, there is only one chance at life! Why live miserably? You have to take charge for your happiness, just like the mother of the MC should have, divorce the guy that doesn't love you and find a man that will cherish you, if that is what will make you happy!

The ML - I find his patience very endearing. The part where someone says the MC was not fully able to consent - maybe it is partially true but the situation did not at all strike me as s*xual mol*station, since this girl was not so out of her mind to not recognise that the man in front of her. She clearly knew who he was and her actions reflected her wishes, which would also seem that way to the ML, since their relationship has been a kind of a push and pull for some time. I agree that this moment can be seen as iffy.

To conclude, I really think that people are up in arms about some trends that are floating around, but you should reflect more deeply on this story, it is not as superficial as a scum dad and scum step mom etc, trying to suck up by collecting bday gifts and cooking nice meals, in fact, this family has had great potential to become very harmonious. One should appreciate how much it takes to never lash out at someone who is literally ruining your one chance at happiness by being totally nasty and poisonous to you when you are just trying your best to have a nice family life. Not only to never lash out, but, in fact, be sensitive to this person's circumstances and still even care for them relentlessly. In the meantime, the dead mother needed, among other possible solutions, professional help early on so that she could live a happy and fulfilling life herself. More than anything, though, she needed the will to live freely and happily. <<less

This novel was bittersweet for me. Would have gotten 5 stars if both the MC and my frustration was resolved by the end of the novel. I loved everything else, it was written so well. But the continued frustration just brought it down majorly. I finished reading this a few years ago, yet just by remembering the general plot, I FEEL FRUSTRATED! That's how bad it is for me.

I have few true pet peeves when it comes to novels and this novel hit one of them so hard. I hate... more>> it when authors make a characters frustration, anger, burdens, trauma, etc, small and almost or entirely irrelevant. Especially when they've done a great job at bringing it to the forefront.

The MCs hurt and anger were real. She had good reasons for it. Yet, throughout the entire novel, everyone around her kept making it seem like SHE had problem. Like she had no reasons to feel the way she was and if she did feel a certain way, it wasnt important. No one ever tried to understand her pain or resolve it. Everyone wanted to sweep it under the rug and act like it didn't exist, and if she didn't do that then she was wrong. SHE had to be understanding. SHE had to be more tolerant. SHE had to be more accepting. Because if she didn't, SHE had the PROBLEM. SHE was in the WRONG. It seemed that even the ML may may have felt that way sometimes. <<less

It's honestly.

It was good. But it was also a bit... unsatisfactory is some aspects.

I just feel like.. LAH's anger wasn't really resolved. So many years, and. I understand she's just tired of it all but. Hah. She has a really dysfunctional family.

... more>> Also, how she got with HTH is technically s*xual assault. She was under the influence, and he still proceeded to touch her, and she was even resisting it somewhat, too. Now, I know she did want to get with him, and was just holding herself back. But still.

Anyways. Other than that, it really is written very well. Check it out if you have maybe 20-30 minutes of time. It's a nice and rather short story. <<less

I love how the protagonist learned from her previous life. Unlike other novels, didn't spend her new life focusing on revenge and made small changes to make her life better and used her own effort to build her own empire thus being successful in her own way instead of spending her life fighting for the company, unlike her previous life.

The male lead also transmigator and travelled back in time... his wishes during her birthdays were the reason why they restart their life. He loves the MC and never wanted the company. He only wanted her to attention.

The last chapter made me gave this novel 5 points despite feeling the need to see some awakening to the Father or be punished for what he did. He married the Mom for his own benefit, cheated, neglected his daughter, always angry/curse her, I didn't get how he treated the son like his own and prioritized the step mom's feelings that made the MC feels like she's an outsider. Despite the stepmom being kind, I can't help but hate her like I'm the MC due to suffering of her Mom and her emotional pain making her feel alone/outcast in her own home.

I get that every characters have their own reason why they acted that way. But... I know her father is just a tsundere and filled w/ guilt that he didn't know how to treat her daughtet but how come he can treat others better than her daughter. <<less

The story line isn't anything new. However the way the author writes /translator translates is very good. We get to understand the MC struggles to learn to forgive without forgetting and compromising with her unchangeable stinky fate (since she got 2nd chance to relive her life but her family and home is still as wrecked). I love the angsty battle of MC and ML since their fates already intertwined since their 1st life. Seeing MC struggles to reject fate while the said fate refused to. The epilogue brought warm tears... more>> to my eyes and answered the reason behind fate's action.

This novel really slapped you awake that life is not always fair. How I hate MC's father (he is the biggest jerk ever.
Spoiler

How can he continuously hoped her daughter to be a saint when he keeps comparing her with his stepson and finding fault. He even had the audacity to throw hot teapot to her face, this is a woman, his daughter where face regarded as important! *Rage!* I am so unsatisfied with him only contracting high blood pressure in the end when; MC's mother suffered grievance to death, MC's had died and reliving through his authority of supposedly father and warm pretend family, ML's mother raking her brain to diffuse MC's hate due to him and reconcile their relationship and ML incurred his wrath for falling in love with his 'sister' and tainting his reputation as their father. In the end, he severed his ties with them and thrown them out of his house that he painstakingly before forced them to engage in family act with him?! God. Shameless man

The story was so short yet amazing that it made me forget I was reading a smut before first sexually explicit scene hit.

The dysfunctional family dynamics remain that way, there's no misunderstandings because the father figure is a truly disgusting self serving egoistical brute. He had let down and broke apart his own family and made the sole surviving victim make recessions towards them, the culprits. He'd hit, beat and throw things at her without asking for explanation and always put the blame on her first. No wonder she grew... more>> up as a insecure fire cracker.

Their happy little family of 3 act would leave me disgusted, not to mention the MC. I can't imagine enduring being in her shoes for all these years.

The love relationship doesn't focus on the taboo of step siblings but more on the fact that it's a sadomasochistic relationship of one seeking the angry firecracker's attention with silent provocations and one guarding her own heart due to her childhood trauma as well as for the sake of not disappoint the other party. Only major negative about him was asking her to forgive her father and I hope he's just saying that out of spite before they got together because nobody should force a victim to forgive.

The smut is more intense lovemaking than hot s*x. It was emotional and fierce but it made me happy for her settling her emotions down after all the torture she went through.

I feel like accepting her father was definitely unnecessary because except for financial needs, he hasn't fulfilled a single thing she needed from him as a guardian. The rift the father caused is permanent and he only made it worse and there's no remorse in his conduct and interaction so I fully understand 1star reviews ranting about him. <<less

This story has a complex porcupine of a FL reborn after a lifetime of fighting against everything. Instead of spending her second go around plotting revenge against all those who wronged her, she lets go of the battle. Except no one realizes cause she’s still a porcupine that mouths off at anything and anyone who even tries to approach her emotional hide. She does make active steps to separate herself from her previous unhealthy work life. She learns more about why people did the things that emotionally devastated her the... more>> first go around. Mostly she spends the first decade of her reborn life running from the feelings she developed in her last life and carried through to this one.

Our ML starts off as an emotionally contained child. That doesn't change as he grows. It drives the FL bonkers. He’s also a fairly complex character without lashing out at the world like the FL. He has one underlying motivation that explains all the ridiculously convoluted things he does in both lives.

They do not have a sweet romance. The relationship is smothered under a mountain of resentment, misunderstanding and fear. In their first life it was a toxic connection that poisoned both their lives. The FL’s death and reincarnation lets them lance the poison.

If that sounds heavy, don’t worry. Its really short. You wont have time to be exhausted. The fact the author could communicate all that they did with as thin a story as this truly was is amazing.

Read if you can handle conflicted characters who aren't always nice to each other but ultimately are happiest together. <<less

The feels!!... the feelings in this novel is everything. The way the FL lives her life by doing everything she had accomplished in her previous life all the while keeping her original personality of being arrogant, proud and stubborn. Even after being reborn she kept her own personality unlike other rebirth novel where they became white lotuses or Mary Sue OP characters.

The Ml!!.. The ML is also everything you can ask for our MC. He isnt overbearing... His epilogue is will give you the most unexpected twist (I cried my... more>> eyes out after reading it) in the story while also not surprising you at all.

Now the MC's family (father & stepmom) arent bad... they simply found each other after many years even though circumstances werent good. The setpmom tries to be good to her even when MC was indifferent (not a two-faced b*tch).

& finally.. the SMUT!!!... DAMN IT WAS GOOD... It has been a while since I've read a good lemon scene without feeling like the MC was being forced/coered/tricked by ML & was genuinely into it <<less

Ok, I was quiet disappointed with the ending. Honestly, I didn't wanted our MC to end up with ML. I couldn't their relationship as justiciable.

Spoiler

It certainly is refreshing, the concept of MC not taking revenge but slowly forgetting everything into oblivion was something that caught my pique. I cried a few times. I really felt MC emotion of fighting against her pride during her arguments with her father. He certainly was one kind of a douche bag (he gave me typical tyrant boss feeling). I couldn't really bring myself to hate her step-mother even though she was your regular white lily (whom I hate the most). She had her own circumstance, for survivability she did this soo... this was basically that douchebag fathers fault. I wanted to know more in depth knowledge of fathers emotion... but I guess it was cut short.

And the thing that disappointed me the most was her relationship with ML. Their relationship was obvious from start to end so I was looking forward to how they will progress but rather it felt like ML was just choked down into our MC's throat. You see if she really wanted to fall in love, I think hunter (one of the MC 's Lover) would have been better?

I couldn't really see myself forgiving anyone of them, but I could certainly feel I can forget them as a distant past. Her trauma caused by them couldn't really be justified. They lived in their own sphere of bubble making MC feel an outsider, no kind words just hurting her again and again and that sonavabit*h ML always invaded her personal space her 'me time', I honestly felt frustrated. Getthef*ckoutahere she needs some space.

I think a lot things could have been executed better but it was good read. It was refreshing and different from other novels. <<less

Ahhh, I'm disappointed with this story to say the least. The premise was great, but she doesn't need to give in to her father and stepmother, no matter what the truth behind them was. I believe even her actions in her past life weren't enough. No matter how much you love someone, constantly berating and complaining about them doesn't get the point across. It's like "change yourself to suit me and I'll give you the least bit of affection". The father was a disappointment to say the least, and he... more>> didn't even try to change himself. Why did she even forgive him?

His ex-wife, MC's mother, wasn't that great either. But he could have tried something I guess. Like everyone has previous relationships...

The stepmother went out of her way to appease MC, but if I was standing in MC's shoes I would honestly presume she was trying to kill me. She could have made more of an effort.

And the ML, I don't understand why and when he fell in love with her. Obviously, love doesn't need a reason, but someone you have always been spitting fire at and then suddenly loving them. Dude, express your self better. Plus, MC is quite abusive.

And when she was drugged... no man, that's morally wrong.

I guess the author could have taken it in a different direction.

P.S. The smut was unnecessary. <<less
